The Thrill of Upcoming Releases: A Year of Anticipation
Only is it a really powerful substance it's a rare substance and it is also controlled by two crime families in the area these families have been kind of at each other's throats for a rather long time but it has been pretty cold in terms of conflict in recent years but the conflict itself is starting to heat up again as a few different political movements are at play in this story we follow a variety of different perspectives in one of those crime families these individuals are at different social levels and have their own interests it's full of so much drama so much conflict it's written so well it's absolutely non-stop i cant wait for the third book i will for sure be reading it before the end of this year i know a lot of other people are also very excited about this release so we can all fangirl together
The next book that i hope to read before the end of the year is strange the dreamer i'm pretty sure this book is also on my books i want to read in the year 2020 so squeezing this in make sure i don't fail that tbr too badly before the end of the year this would actually be a reread for me i really enjoyed this book and i do want to finish this duology quite a bit but i'm also just this book is so shiny i'm sorry but i've also just been craving some lyrical angsty romantic kind of why fantasy and i know this will fit the bill but this is also i think an unusual and well constructed fantasy story that's also very unique but this is a dual perspective story one of the perspectives we follow is laszlo he is a library's assistant and he has dreams of becoming a scholar for one particular place called the city of weep
This city did not always go by that name but its real name as well as its history been completely washed from time itself however one day when an envoy arrives from the city for the first time in many years laszlo jumps at the opportunity to travel with them and hoping to learning more about this place that has captured his fascination for so long once he arrives he quickly realizes that the history of this place is much darker and much more complicated than he could ever imagine and he also realizes that there is a magical component as well
This book that has not only some of the most beautiful writing but also has really dark and deep topics including generational hatred and war and trauma i remember really loving this book um i really want to read it again i just feel like its one that will sweep me away um i love laini taylor's writing so i'm looking forward to this and then the very last book on the books i hope to read before the end of the year is taliban's war by james a corey
i love leviathan wakes and i want to read more books by this author before the end of the year and continue to do so through 2022 as well i have not been swept away by a sci-fi series i feel like ever in my life in general i would say i don't read that much sci-fi but this book is getting me really excited not only about the series but the genre itself because i know there's more excellent sci-fi out there but this is an incredibly fast-paced plot for space opera series and the first one we primarily follow two points of view one of them is holden who is a ship captain and his ship basically runs across the ruins of another and he also discovers an unexpected scientific advancement that other people have killed to keep secret and now him and his crew are in a lot of danger
we also follow detective miller lives in an area called the belt and at the beginning of the story he's put on a private case to find a lost woman who is from a very wealthy family his search kind of leads him to holden and their story lines begin to branch off from there this series is truly just wild the first one really combines elements of like a classic detective story but also like there is intergalactic war going on at the same time this particular space setting basically takes place in a tinderbox the relations between earth mars in an area called the belt has been in high tensions for decades and holden basically is that spark that sets off a variety of events that also lead into this second book
i'm really looking forward to this i know it introduces some new povs which i'm looking forward to just seeing where this explosive plot continues to expand i cant wait already

lightweight it is but i got this brick color or this red color which i thought would be so fun for the fall season i thought it would pair so nicely with knits neutral knits or even a bold color knit um i just honestly love this shade i also feel like it looks nice against my particular skin tone i love the clear frame i have it in a clear beige color which is one of my favorites and this brick color i just think is great next up i have these muse 3278 frames and i got them in a classic tortoise shade i love these not only for the price this is definitely a steal when it comes to prescription glasses but i just feel like it is such a nice classic style in color that they won't go out of style i also love that they have a bit of a thicker rim it looks a little dark academia like i'm about to go give a lecture at some university like imagine being a turtleneck in these frames scholarly i love it but these are fantastic but i think we'll just pair so nicely with fall winter wear i love a tortoise frame i love an oversized frame and these are fantastic and the last frame i got is a bit of a spin on a classic frame and that is the etoto bologna and i think these are so fun they kind of combine what i love about wire room glasses as well as like thicker tortoise rim glasses it's like a mashup of both of them creating a wonderful hybrid if you will i love the oversized frame it has a slight cat eye effect which i personally find really flattering on the face they're incredibly lightweight um and just so easy to wear all day also come in a variety of color combinations really fun bright and bold ones as well as some classic like everyday will go with every single thing in your wardrobe like these tortoise gold options i just think these are so fun i really love how it kind of combines my two favorite types of glasses into a single frame and that is my glasses haul i of course have an offer for you guys as well as all the glasses i showed off will be linked down below so be sure to check that out without further ado let's go ahead and jump into the rest of the video i won't lie i almost had a bit of a crisis when i was putting together this tbr i had to remind myself that the world does not end on december 31st i will still have next year to do all the reading i could possibly want but there is this kind of feeling of finality to it like i want to make sure my last few books that i read for the year are definitely at the top of my list the first book i for sure have to mention is fool's fate by robin hobb i have been reading the fits in the full series throughout this year and i'm on the third and final book and i for sure want to get to it before the end of the year i'm obviously loving the series the first two books absolutely blew me away it's been an emotional kind of slow burning adventure tale finding ourselves again with fit and the fool two of my all-time favorite fantasy characters robin hobb one of my favorite fantasy authors it's just truly an all-star situation i know i'm going to love this book and a lot of people say the last book within this trilogy is actually their favorite and i have goals of reading the next entire series next year so i want to be sure to wrap this up before you know the end of 2021 but if you're not familiar this takes place about seven or so years after the events of the farseer trilogy it's an emotional character study following fits and fool as they kind of go out on a new adventure again a lot of the political issues that were present within the farseer kingdom were left to fester we have new magical discrimination and political plots underway that are very central to this particular story but also at the heart of this we continue to follow fitz as he has a very emotional journey of kind of coming to terms with not only his past and the trauma that he faced but also what kind of future he wants to make for himself it's a beautiful book i really want to read this i feel like it's going to be an emotional end to a fantastic trilogy and i can't wait next is a book i bought earlier this year and have been saving on my shelf for the winter season and that is the way back by gabriel savitt this is the same author who wrote anna and the swallow man and it's said to be a lyrical but very dark and magical middle-grade story in general are all of my favorite things this is a story inspired by jewish folk tradition and it's set in a small riverside town in eastern europe and in this town the people are very much used to demons living among them they dance on rooftops they hide in trees trying to steal the souls of the living they even have a land of their own called the far country which is controlled by demonic lords and ladies one night in this small town the angel of death takes a stroll which basically starts the beginning of an adventure where we follow our two young main protagonists as they basically go on a perilous journey through the far country making deals with all different types of demons and hopefully are able to find their way home i've heard fantastic things about the writing of this the overall synopsis and setting really calls out to me i love lyrical magical and whimsical stories just like this i also have a feeling the audiobook will be fantastic and just a wonderful book to read on a cold winter's day so this is on my tbr i have been saving it i have been waiting for it and i'm truly very excited to read this next up i know is going to be emotional hard hitter and is actually a book i'm currently reading now so i'm knocking out a few of these must read before the end of the year as we speak and that is under the whispering door by tj cloon i'm a huge fan of tj clune's writing i feel like he does a wonderful job of creating very emotional character-driven really uniquely fantastical stories this transports you and honestly make you feel something i am about 30 of the way through this book and i have to say he's definitely doing it again but this follows her main character wallace and he is pretty sure he is dead he wasn't quite sure when he watched his own funeral but when a grim reaper brought him to a very unusual tea shop run by a man named hugo he's now finally coming to terms with it unfortunately though wallace has begun to realize that he never really lived much in life so he has the opportunity to have seven days again for himself in the land of living and he plans to live it up with hugo again this book is said to be an incredibly emotional portrait of life and death and also mourning and moving on as someone who's already started this book i have to say it's incredibly charming and full of tj klum's wonderful character work as well as just like humor and banter i feel like he writes dialogue very very well wallace is a main character is rootable but also someone you can't help but be very annoyed by he is basically a modern day scrooge he's a very difficult man he was very hard in life but now he's kind of slowly reforming his ways i'm looking forward to finishing this book i also feel like an emotional story is a great book to read in the winter honestly any time of year so this is for sure i must read next is a new fantasy series i hope to start before the end of this year and then carry on in the rest of 2022 and that is the blade itself by joe abercrombie this is one of those fantasy authors i have never read a book from that i feel like is very beloved and very popular and it's honestly just time as i say every time i mention this book in a video the synopsis is vague which in general i hate i hate when books just have like quotes and absolutely no information about the book on the back of it but nonetheless from what i can gather this is a character-focused grim dark fantasy story following a variety of characters that apparently you kind of hate but also very much love by the end of it i'm looking forward to one encountering joe abercrombie's writing for the first time i love character focus fantasy robin hobb again is one of my favorite authors and i'm very curious to kind of encounter another more character-led fantasy story as in general that is a setup that i really enjoy this also with this darkness probably fits the cold winter seasons like a little brutality kind of fits you know what i mean next on my list is a reread for me and also just a romance ford urban fantasy story and that is written and read i honestly just had the urge like a few weeks ago this book just randomly popped in my mind i read it for the first time about five years ago i just thought about it and i was like i feel like rereading the few books i have read in the series and continuing on i love an angsty thriller sort of crime urban fantasy story that has a central romantic plotline i just think they're a lot of fun um and i know a lot of people agree and i remember really enjoying written in red it's been again a really long time since i read it so i'm curious to see what i think about this and hopefully continue on with the rest of the series but this follows our main character meg and she is a blood prophet meaning when someone cuts her she's able to parcel out a bit of the future which makes her very valuable and also has resulted in her imprisonment by her current employer at the beginning of this first book she's able to escape and she basically travels to the only safe place she's able to find which is called the lakeside courtyard which is a business district operated by the others in this world a bunch of supernatural and paranormal creatures exists from werewolves to vampires and blood prophets like meg herself and then this place they all kind of exist and protect each other from the outside world and the other character we follow is of course simon wolfgard who works at this particular location who's very hesitant in hiring a new human liaison meg who seemingly is hiding a secret and so begins this particular story with lots of angsty back and forth will they won't they magical supernatural mystery and hopefully a lot of action too i just feel like this will be a page turner and one that will kind of be a good filler book between some of my more intense emotional forward stories i just want something that i can fall into it will be fully entertaining and i feel like this will be that next up is a more intense historical fiction story one of my goals for this year was to read more historical fiction and while i feel like i have been succeeding there are a few still left on my tbr at the top of my list that i have not gotten to and one of them is a gentleman in moscow by amore towels i now have three books by this author i have not read and i want to read all of them so it's just time i start reading his list of books i have a backlist at this point i've heard great things about all of his books he is really known for writing again very character focused and emotional um multi-pov historical fiction story set in different time periods and locations this one is always called out to me just because i do really love russian history and historical russian settings this is a story said to be brimming with characters and humor but it's set in 1922 and it primarily follows our main character who is a 30 year old cow and he was basically deemed to be an unrepentant aristocat hello this is editing reagan i really just said arista cat instead of aristocrat listen i love that disney film by the bolshevik government so he has been sentenced to house arrest in this hotel across the street from the kremlin now he spends his days in an attic kind of watching some of the most tumultuous years of russian history pass him by what he also does is he begins to get to know other members of this hotel and that is where i believe the story kind of unfolds again so much of this book really calls out to me i am a sucker for anything kind of character focused but this is a time in history that i personally have been fascinated by for many years of my life i'm curious to kind of see those events from this particular isolated point of view i think that's a really interesting approach i've heard amazing things about this this author is very very beloved and i felt like of the three books this was the one that was calling out to me the most at the time so i'm looking forward to this let me know if any of you guys have read it or if you've listened to the audiobook i'm curious about that um i've been very into audio books lately i don't know if you've noticed um and i feel like this might be a fantastic one so i'm curious if any of you have listened to it next up i have two end of the year releases that are at the top of my list the first is the sequel to the boneshard daughter by andrea stewart the boneshard daughter was a book i read last year and absolutely loved i found it to be a very fast-paced really wonderful first book and introduction to a new fantasy series i also believe it was a debut and all in all i was just very impressed it was a multi-pov book following first and foremost the daughter of the current emperor of this fantasy world and the emperor is definitely one that is creating a lot of tension and unrest and he's able to maintain his hold on the empire itself using something called boneshard magic which is an unknown very dark magic that allows him to create various constructs that vary in power at the beginning of the story our main character decides that she is going to learn the secret of this boneshard magic to overthrow her despotic father we also follow a few other povs in this fantasy world including a smuggler as well as a mysterious person on an island picking mangoes the first book really swept me away i felt like it had not only great action a really intricate magical system but it also had glimpses to like a larger political movement i'm hoping is fleshed out more and more in later installments i was really drawn in by the characters in the writing and i'm hoping that it just gets better and better so i'm really looking forward to the bone shard emperor which comes out i want to say late november december i haven't pre-ordered it's coming to me and then the other book that is pre-ordered and i'm very excited to read should be no surprise and that is jade legacy by fonda lee i have been counting down the days for the release of this book i truly cannot wait this is the concluding novel to one of my favorite all-time fantasy series which is the green bone saga honestly the only reason why i'm excited about it to end is that i want to read more new series by fonda lee so i'm just hoping like this ends is gonna be great and then we're gonna get even more books by this fantastic author that's the only thing that's keeping me afloat right now um but the green bone saga is a fantastic asian inspired urban fantasy story that i talk about literally at nauseum on my channel but it's basically set on the fictional island of kcon and here there is a substance called jade that some individuals can wear and it makes them stronger and faster than everyone else essentially the thing with jade is not only is it a really powerful substance it's a rare substance and it is also controlled by two crime families in the area these families have been kind of at each other's throats for a rather long time but it has been pretty cold in terms of conflict in recent years but the conflict itself is starting to heat up again as a few different political movements are at play in this story we follow a variety of different perspectives in one of those crime families these individuals are at different social levels and have their own interests it's full of so much drama so much conflict it's written so well it's absolutely non-stop i can't wait for the third book i will for sure be reading it before the end of this year i know a lot of other people are also very excited about this release so we can all fangirl together the next book that i hope to read before the end of the year is strange the dreamer i'm pretty sure this book is also on my books i want to read in the year 2020 so squeezing this in make sure i don't fail that tbr too badly before the end of the year this would actually be a reread for me i really enjoyed this book and i do want to finish this duology quite a bit but i'm also just this book is so shiny i'm sorry but i've also just been craving some lyrical angsty romantic kind of why fantasy and i know this will fit the bill but this is also i think an unusual and well constructed fantasy story that's also very unique but this is a dual perspective story one of the perspectives we follow is laszlo he is a library's assistant and he has dreams of becoming a scholar for one particular place called the city of weep this city did not always go by that name but its real name as well as its history been book is getting me really excited not only about the series but the genre itself because i know there's more excellent sci-fi out there but this is an incredibly fast-paced plot for space opera series and the first one we primarily follow two points of view one of them is holden who is a ship captain and his ship basically runs across the ruins of another and he also discovers an unexpected scientific advancement that other people have killed to keep secret and now him and his crew are in a lot of danger we also follow detective miller lives in an area called the belt and at the probably fits the cold winter seasons like a little brutality kind of fits you know what i mean next on my list is a reread for me and also just a romance ford urban fantasy story and that is written and read i honestly just had the urge like a few weeks ago this book just randomly popped in my mind i read it for the first time about five years ago i just thought about it and i was like i feel like rereading the few books i have read in the series and continuing on i love an angsty thriller sort of crime urban fantasy story that has a central romantic plotline i just think they're a lot of fun um and i know a lot of people agree and i remember really enjoying written in red it's been again a really long time since i read it so i'm curious to see what i think about this and hopefully continue on with the rest of the series but this follows our main character meg and she is a blood prophet meaning when someone cuts her she's able to parcel out a bit of the future which makes her very valuable and also has resulted in her imprisonment by her current employer at the beginning of this first book she's able to escape and she basically travels to the only safe place she's able to find which is called the lakeside courtyard which is a business district operated by the others in this world a bunch of supernatural and paranormal creatures exists from werewolves to vampires and blood prophets like meg herself and then this place they all kind of exist and protect each other from the outside world and the other character we follow is of course simon wolfgard who works at this particular location who's very hesitant in hiring a new human liaison meg who seemingly is hiding a secret and so begins this particular story with lots of angsty back and forth will they won't they magical supernatural mystery and hopefully a lot of action too i just feel like this will be a page turner and one that will kind of be a good filler book between some of my more intense emotional forward stories i just want something that i can fall into it will be fully entertaining and i feel like this will be that next up is a more intense historical fiction story one of my goals for this year was to read more historical fiction and while i feel like i have been succeeding there are a few still left on my tbr at the top of my list that i have not gotten to and one of them is a gentleman in moscow by amore towels i now have three books by this author i have not read and i want to read all of them so it's just time i start reading his list of books i have a backlist at this point i've heard great things about all of his books he is really known for writing again very character focused and emotional um multi-pov historical fiction story set in different time periods and locations this one is always called out to me just because i do really love russian history and historical russian settings this is a story said to be brimming with characters and humor but it's set in 1922 and it primarily follows our main character who is a 30 year old cow and he was basically deemed to be an unrepentant aristocat hello this is editing reagan i really just said arista cat instead of aristocrat listen i love that disney film by the bolshevik government so he has been sentenced to house arrest in this hotel across the street from the kremlin now he spends his days in an attic kind of watching some of the most tumultuous years of russian history pass him by what he also does is he begins to get to know other members of this hotel and that is where i believe the story kind of unfolds again so much of this book really calls out to me i am a sucker for anything kind of character focused but this is a time in history that i personally have been fascinated by for many years of my life i'm curious to kind of see those events from this particular isolated point of view i think that's a really interesting approach i've heard amazing things about this this author is very very beloved and i felt like of the three books this was the one that was calling out to me the most at the time so i'm looking forward to this let me know if any of you guys have read it or if you've listened to the audiobook i'm curious about that um i've been very into audio books lately i don't know if you've noticed um and i feel like this might be a fantastic one so i'm curious if any of you have listened to it next up i have two end of the year releases that are at the top of my list the first is the sequel to the boneshard daughter by andrea stewart the boneshard daughter was a book i read last year and absolutely loved i found it to be a very fast-paced really wonderful first book and introduction to a new fantasy series i also believe it was a debut and all in all i was just very impressed it was a multi-pov book following first and foremost the daughter of the current emperor of this fantasy world and the emperor is definitely one that is creating a lot of tension and unrest and he's able to maintain his hold on the empire itself using something called boneshard magic which is an unknown very dark magic that allows him to create various constructs that vary in power at the beginning of the story our main character decides that she is going to learn the secret of this boneshard magic to overthrow her despotic father we also follow a few other povs in this fantasy world including a smuggler as well as a mysterious person on an island picking mangoes the first book really swept me away i felt like it had not only great action a really intricate magical system but it also had glimpses to like a larger political movement i'm hoping is fleshed out more and more in later installments i was really drawn in by the characters in the writing and i'm hoping that it just gets better and better so i'm really looking forward to the bone shard emperor which comes out i want to say late november december i haven't pre-ordered it's coming to me and then the other book that is pre-ordered and i'm very excited to read should be no surprise and that is jade legacy by fonda lee i have been counting down the days for the release of this book i truly cannot wait this is the concluding novel to one of my favorite all-time fantasy series which is the green bone saga honestly the only reason why i'm excited about it to end is that i want to read more new series by fonda lee so i'm just hoping like this ends is gonna be great and then we're gonna get even more books by this fantastic author that's the only thing that's keeping me afloat right now um but the green bone saga is a fantastic asian inspired urban fantasy story that i talk about literally at nauseum on my channel but it's basically set on the fictional island of kcon and here there is a substance called jade that some individuals can wear and it makes them stronger and faster than everyone else essentially the thing with jade is not only is it a really powerful substance it's a rare substance and it is also controlled by two crime families in the area these families have been kind of at each other's throats for a rather long time but it has been pretty cold in terms of conflict in recent years but the conflict itself is starting to heat up again as a few different political movements are at play in this story we follow a variety of different perspectives in one of those crime families these individuals are at different social levels and have their own interests it's full of so much drama so much conflict it's written so well it's absolutely non-stop i can't wait for the third book i will for sure be reading it before the end of this year i know a lot of other people are also very excited about this release so we can all fangirl together the next book that i hope to read before the end of the year is strange the dreamer i'm pretty sure this book is also on my books i want to read in the year 2020 so squeezing this in make sure i don't fail that tbr too badly before the end of the year this would actually be a reread for me i really enjoyed this book and i do want to finish this duology quite a bit but i'm also just this book is so shiny i'm sorry but i've also just been craving some lyrical angsty romantic kind of why fantasy and i know this will fit the bill but this is also i think an unusual and well constructed fantasy story that's also very unique but this is a dual perspective story one of the perspectives we follow is laszlo he is a library's assistant and he has dreams of becoming a scholar for one particular place called the city of weep this city did not always go by that name but its real name as well as its history been completely washed from time itself however one day when an envoy arrives from the city for the first time in many years laszlo jumps at the opportunity to travel with them and hoping to learning more about this place that has captured his fascination for so long once he arrives he quickly realizes that the history of this place is much darker and much more complicated than he could ever imagine and he also realizes that there is a magical component as well this is a book that has not only some of the most beautiful writing but also has really dark and deep topics including generational hatred and war and trauma i remember really loving this book um i really want to read it again i just feel like it's one that will sweep me away um i love laini taylor's writing so i'm looking forward to this and then the very last book on the books i hope to read before the end of the year is taliban's war by james a corey i love leviathan wakes and i want to read more books by this author before the end of the year and continue to do so through 2022 as well i have not been swept away by a sci-fi series i feel like ever in my life in general i would say i don't read that much sci-fi but this book is getting me really excited not only about the series but the genre itself because i know there's more excellent sci-fi out there but this is an incredibly fast-paced plot for space opera series and the first one we primarily follow two points of view one of them is holden who is a ship captain and his ship basically runs across the ruins of another and he also discovers an unexpected scientific advancement that other people have killed to keep secret and now him and his crew are in a lot of danger we also follow detective miller lives in an area called the belt and at the beginning of the story he's put on a private case to find a lost woman who is from a very wealthy family his search kind of leads him to holden and their story lines begin to branch off from there this series is truly just wild the first one really combines elements of like a classic detective story but also like there is intergalactic war going on at the same time this particular space setting basically takes place in a tinderbox the relations between earth mars in an area called the belt has been in high tensions for decades and holden basically is that spark that sets off a variety of events that also lead into this second book i'm really looking forward to this i know it introduces some new povs which i'm looking forward to just seeing where this explosive plot continues to expand i can't wait already guys those are all the books i hope to read before the end of the year again big shout out to glasses usa for sponsoring this video i will leave a link to all of my glasses as well as my special offer down below for you guys to check out but thank you so much for watching this video and
