Cream S13 gets a New Body Kit!

Definitely not as clean next up I'm going to work on the rear bumper I think that's most difficult so I might as well do that next to get it out of the way yesterday I told you I had a little trick for preventing bumper sag basically all it was was a pool noodle on my bash bar and it kind of pushed the bumper up but it puts pressure in a weird area of the bumper and I don't want to like Flex it or crack any paint so I'm going to do another trick that a lot of people do with 240s you basically take this rear center veilance off and you zip tie it to the lip of the bumper by drilling some holes that way when you put the bumper on you put this in too and it will pull the bumper up and keep that line flush I marked the ends of where it should go to so I know kind of how to place the center and adjust it I've got it all zip tied on now the only thing I'm questionable about is where I want to position this like front or back so I'm going to mock the bumper up and see what we're working with curious how hard it's going to be to put on with this Valance now.

So, when it comes to mounting a rear bumper, I've learned that you have to put the corners in first otherwise it does not want to go in. Bingo got this side skirt fitted so now the only real thing left to do is Mount the front bumper and put some extra screws in the rear and we are done.

My car looks like it has so much angle right now just going to put a zip tie right here now. The reason why people fit kits with zip ties is not because they're lazy, um basically the idea is if you're going to rip your bumper off if you have like screws and stuff it'll just like crack the fiberglass hopefully not this but using zip ties makes it so rather than your bumper breaking you just break the zip ties your bumper might fly off but at least you didn't like shatter the mounting points that's the idea.

I'm very very happy with how that came out I am getting new fenders soon so I'll probably end up sanding them down like on this tip just to get a better fitment. This side's a little bit worse but this Fender is toast I'm obviously going to need to get some lights for in here to fill up this hole.

Some of you guys called me out on having a flat front tire before didn't actually notice it until I saw it in the comment section so thank you easy little trick if you're ever trying to find a leak you can just spray some like soapy water or some like Windex or whatever around like the bead of the rim to see if it's leaking from there or from the valve stem and if you see little bubbles like so then you know that's where your leak is coming from.

It's definitely different looking but I wasn't only just changing my body kit because I want it to look better I am all about function or at least a mixture of function and form. I would definitely say that's how I would describe most of my cars it's always like a mixture of function and how it looks there's a lot of dudes that are just like oh I want to do the best looking thing and then it sucks cuz their bumpers are flying off and cracking and there's a lot of people that are like pure function and their cars look like monster trucks to each is their own some people have different preferences I like a mixture of both and I like being different.

I think this kit definitely looks different I'm obviously going to get it painted.

Really wanted my new front fenders to come in same thing by the way nothing exciting so I could get everything painted at once but I'm kind of impatient and I want to drop my car off when we're going to be in La next week to get the kit painted and to get this dented quarter panel repaired cuz that's why this doesn't really fit that well probably smarter to have it all done at once but I'm impatient. Shine Auto definitely has an awesome product if you're thinking about trying one for yourself if you order a kit over the phone and you tell them that you saw my video and that's where you like found out about them I'm pretty sure that they will give you discount worth a shot um

I'm really proud of how this came out the kit fits pretty well it's honestly my first time I've ever mounted like a body kit to a car I've changed bumpers and stuff but it's all OEM so that stuff's really easy hope you guys like my video maybe you learned a thing or two probably not though cuz I'm stupid but that's okay

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enas promised today we are installing a much needed new body kit for my 240SX my old kit definitely was not in the best condition and if you aren't familiar with drifting or even just 240s for that matter you might think that like I crash into a lot of stuff because my kits beat up but that's actually not the case for some reason for years body kits have been made of this very rigid and brittle fiberglass that just like explodes anytime it flexes or hits something it's good because it retains shape well but the second you come into contact with something or remove your bumper the wrong way it's cracked it looks like garbage and then you have to use zip ties to stitch it like a human limb believe it or not all this damage was just from hitting a tire at like maybe 5 or 10 mph as a result of my troubles with fiberglass I looked all over to try to find some sort of poly body kit for the 240 like BMW bumpers or flexible and everything but you don't really have that option unless you want to go with an oem bumper like a py noose or a typex bumper but it's not really what I wanted there's a company that my friend Tommy told me about called Shine Auto and they have this like hybrid fiberglass material that's actually somewhat flexible I don't want to get too crazy with it because I honestly don't know the limit but as you can see I'm flexing it quite a bit nothing crazy decent amount of twist probably go more I literally just cracked my old bumper picking it up not even kidding where like I'm not I don't even want to try to twist this I'm like wiggling it a it'll literally break if I twist it at all some of you guys may have seen my friend Taylor's video where they got shine Auto's super flexible kit for his s13 I thought about it but when I talked to them I guess the disadvantage of the crazy super flexible one is it doesn't really retain shape as well and it can like kind of get weight or not fit right so I just went with a normal flexible version which is still extremely flexible I've personally never fit a body kit before but I know it's relatively self-explanatory you know I've put my bumper on and off before basically we're going to have to trim the bumpers a little bit to get to clear things like my front jack point we're going to have to drill some holes so I can put zp ties to mount it and that should be it but as always something always comes up fingers are crossed that it'll be relatively smooth but something always happens that makes it more difficult we'll throw the front bumper on real quick and see where we are at just like I suspected the main point of conflict is right here where the front jacking point is so I will definitely need to trim this out to probably about here uh-oh guys we're in trouble Big Boost is here to critique my poor grinding skills just got to shave a little bit more off check out how nice this Hood lines though so it's pretty decent right now but to fix this little bit of a gap I can just grind a little bit right here and that should allow it to go in so much crap underneath here it's not painted yet oh it's so hard to see with the lighting there's like a little bit of a vent scoop looking thing right here that's the only part of the kit that I'm a little bit worried I might not like but worst case scenario if I don't like it I still have my old side skirts which are in pretty good condition so I could always run the new front bumper and rear bumper with my old side skirts what do you think the vent overto I like the vent but to make it look better we should probably instead of painting it every time you have a vent in a bumper or hood or anything you mesh have black under that whatever panel is behind that you should put put a black sticker on it that way if you look through the hole You Don't See like cream behind it what's different about these side skirts on my other one which is kind of cool they come up here so I'll actually be able to put a screw in right here and that'll keep this part kind held in better with the old one only attached down here and this is just basically a couple self-tapping screws and then like two zip ties back here really clean line compared to my other kit the tough thing about my rear bumper is the fact that uh you know a tire did a number on this so this is kind of bent in so it's not going to fit flush but first thing I got to do is trim this like piece in the bumper because it's getting cut up on the license plate bracket really like this rear bumper this side's kind of tough going to call it a night and finish up the kit tomorrow I haven't really been getting much sleep and I'm on a terrible sleep schedule so uh I'll probably end up skipping an upload in the next couple days but that's just how it goes later Big Boost bye uh off camera we put together a massive list of all the fabrication stuff that we're going to need for the 2J so that's why he came over spent us a couple hours getting things done guys trying trying trying to get things done with this list done if we can get all of the stuff on the list then we'll pretty much have everything we need to get rolling on the swap so stoked yep I'm also making different plans with work so I can like put more time to work on Adam's car so get the 2jc faster and make more videos literally just doing it for you guys because he gets so upset when you guys com and asking where the 2J is cuz he just feels like it's personally his fault that it's taking so long when it's not we just don't have the parts yeah we just don't have the parts we tried to over them from Japan just couldn't do it okay day two trying to get right to work side skirts are easy so I'm going to start with those what I basically did was kind of like pointed to where the existing hole was with a sharpie then kind of just tapped it once I moved the side skirt in place on the front I just like used a screw through the existing hole and just kind of made a little Mark on it so I'm going to drill those holes and then Mount the ones that go in the door cills cuz that'll be what adjust this fitment here oh side skirt one is all fit I've got one zip tie here might add another down here inside the door jam we've got four little uh screws fitment is pretty decent this is fitment of my other side skirt for reference definitely not as clean next up I'm going to work on the rear bumper I think that's most difficult so I might as well do that next to get it out of the way yesterday I told you I had a little trick for preventing bumper sag basically all it was was a pool noodle on my bash bar and it kind of pushed the bumper up but it puts pressure in a weird area of the bumper and I don't want to like Flex it or crack any paint so I'm going to do another trick that a lot of people do with 240s you basically take this rear center veilance off and you zip tie it to the lip of the bumper by drilling some holes that way when you put the bumper on you put this in too and it will pull the bumper up and keep that line flush I marked the ends of where it should go to so I know kind of how to place the center and adjust it I've got it all zip tied on now the only thing I'm questionable about is where I want to position this like front or back so I'm going to mock the bumper up and see what we're working with curious how hard it's
