2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X and AEV Edition are ready for off-road adventure

GMC has now added one of those into its lineup with the arrival of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD at4 X and if you need an even bigger Bruiser there's the wild extreme AEV edition for those not in the know when it comes to GMC trim terminology at4x nomenclature refers to a truck with a true off-road focus and GMC will now offer an at4x model across its entire truck lineup for people who like to tow and hit the trails this is very good news.

So what did this package bring to the table tons? The 2024 Sierra HD at4x is rated to tow up to 18,500 pounds it has a one and a half inch suspension lift plus 35 inch Goodyear all-terrain tires those amazing multimatic dampers they're here too out back. You have a rear e-locker and this Mighty Machine also gets different control arms and steering Knuckles a massive steel skid plate for the transfer case and an aluminum skid plate under the nose there's off-road Tech involved too this one gets a new off-road mode which reworks how the stability control traction control and abs work together to keep you moving it also revamps throttle progression.

And when the gearbox shifts in the cabin GMC goes quite Fancy with the trimmings in Tech the at4x trim gets an exclusive interior trim treatment called obsidian Rush you'll find power massaging front seats full grain leather and vanta Ash wood trim I don't know what that means but it sounds very fancy there's a 12 speaker Bose audio system which you can control through the new 13.4 inch Center touch screen ahead of the driver is a 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster and there's a 15 inch head up display as well.

Still truck people always love to be offered the chance at more so GMC delivers there too with the extreme AEV edition I'm not adding extreme it's actually in the name American expedition Vehicles is a company that truly knows how to build a tough machine so with the Sierra it adds on to the at4x model by swapping on stamped steel bumpers with integrated recovery Hooks and a place for the front winch the underbody protection is higher strength steel and covers more of the low hanging bits then you also get super cool looking 18 inch Salter wheels and extra AEV badging with all that off-road goodness you need a Powertrain up to the task right.

So here the standard engine is a 6.6 liter gas engine but you can spec the 6.6 liter Duramax turbo diesel if you prefer and and the 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque 975 no matter which engine you go with there's an Allison 10 speed backing it all up GMC has yet to say how much these Mega machines will cost the least expensive version of a four-wheel drive GMC Sierra 2500 HD is around 47 grand if you jump to the diesel you're adding about thirteen thousand dollars but those are for regular cab long beds if you price out a 2024 at4 non-x you start at over 70 or 80 depending on which engine you choose so factor in all the at4x goodies plus a bunch of the Interior upgrades you'd find on a Denali trim and we're definitely up over 90 to start.
