LG V20 - New Render, Sony Xperia X Compact & XZ, T-Mobile in Hot Water

EEVLeaks Gives Us Another Look at the LG G20 in Black

EEVLeaks has provided us with another look at the LG G20, this time in black. The image shows that it matches other renders we have found as well, although it's a bit tricky due to the different angles involved. The top speaker grill, front-facing camera position, secondary ticker display, and volume rockers on the left side are all accounted for, presumably with blurred out parts of the screen intended to help protect the source.

Unfortunately, this picture doesn't show us anything new about the possible module nature of the LG V20. However, it does reveal a button on the bottom right that could possibly be used to detach modules, just like in the G5. Unfortunately, there aren't any other visible clues in this picture, so we're left with not much more information than what Google has already confirmed: the LG V20 will run Android Nougat straight out of the box.

Sony's Compact Line and the Xperia XZ

As a big fan of Sony, especially their compact line, we've heard rumors that they're releasing not only an Xperia X compact but also an Xperia XZ. This is because there's been a general lack of leaks and information about Sony's new flagship phones lately, leaving us with the Xperia XA Ultra as our only source of information so far. However, now it seems like we might have a clearer picture of what to expect thanks to a catch from Sony's Check website.

The website has listed for an "xeria X Compact" and an "Xperia XZ", unfortunately, that's all the website spills - no specs provided. But we can deduce from Sony's historic trend of releasing phones in varying sizes that the mysterious question is whether the Xperia XZ could indeed be the f8331. We think they might be related, but we're not entirely sure yet.

A Snap of the Xperia X Compact

Renowned leakster Evan Blast AKA even leaks managed to snag a snap of the Xperia X compact, and what do you know? It looks an awful lot like the front of the f8331! This is definitely a promising development, as it suggests that our earlier speculation about the potential relationship between the Xperia XZ and the f8331 might be correct.

Sony's Press Conference

As a reminder, Sony is expected to have a press conference right before EA 2016 kicks off on September 1st at 1:00 p.m. Berlin time. This is a great opportunity for us to learn more about their new flagship phones and see whether they'll be living up to our expectations.

The Same Old? Not for Sony

Now, I know what you're thinking - "Jace, come on, Sony's just doing the same old same old." And that may indeed be true. They have been releasing phones with similar designs for years, so it might seem like they're not innovating enough. But let's be real, who else is doing what Sony does? You get waterproofing, expandable storage, sexy sleek designs, and - most importantly - a truly flagship-powered smartphone in a compact size. It's not broken, don't fix it!

Unlimited Data Plans That Aren't

Let's talk about unlimited data plans that aren't. It seems like the Un carrier new unlimited plan is in hot water with the digital rights group Electronic Frontier Foundation. One of the major gripes about the plan is that you'll be stuck with Bing On's video quality cap of just 480p, unless you're willing to dish out an extra $25 bucks a month. This would strongly feel like running a foul of the principle of net neutrality.

The Issue of Data Plans

Some of you might be thinking, "Who are over 40? 26 gigs a month is the ocean of data!" But if you're a teenager watching Netflix all summer long, you can burn through those gigs like wildfire. The issue here is that you shouldn't be able to say it's unlimited if it's obviously not unlimited.
