A Weekend with a GT8: A Racing Driver's Excuse

I don't get to do any bidding and I will be doing more things like that with H as well and then this Friday's video and you know what my poor excuse, my racing driver excuse this week is the sun is so bright I can't actually see the screen to see how much time I had left. I thought I had a few more seconds than that but this Friday's video at six o'clock um is a video that I made at the weekend when I went to Salon Privé, now I teed this up last week and said I had access to a really amazing car well I did thanks to an incredible incredible guy called Robin I drove to his house on Friday evening or Friday afternoon actually and picked up an Aston Martin GT8 in golf livery one of only 150 cars in the world manual V8 proper analog car and it was a simply amazing weekend.

We did a lovely drive tour members day with Sec Private Members on Saturday we went to the Bremont Watch Factory we even went and paid Jeremy Clarkson a visit at the Diddly Squat Farm Shop and then on Sunday we drove to Salon Privé with over 70 supercars and put on the most incredible display I think Sec stand was just amazing and then I went to the show and met some incredible people um and what's really good about those shows for me and I know is not only do I get to see some great cars but I also get access to brands and I got to meet up with a few people and believe me we've got some really special cars coming to the channel in the next couple of months, I mean really really special it's just one of those things we have to now organize exactly the best place a couple of them are going to be driven on a racetrack a couple of them are just proper proper specials so very very excited with what came out of Salon Privé but tune in on Friday at six o'clock for my weekend with a GT8 because I had just an amazing amazing weekend pretending that it was my car having some incredible drives meeting some amazing people and then the last thing just to mention and it is very very exciting but I just want to kind of tee up what's going to be happening um it's just over a week now until we go to Morocco Week on Saturday we fly we're keeping an eye on all government guidance currently we are we have a green light to go it's all good and there's a review of travel restrictions three days before we fly so all things might change you never know but at the moment we're definitely going how that works in terms of my schedule of videos and so on I'm still not quite sure yet um I'm gonna try and edit some extra stuff so I've got content to cover me for those um for the days while I'm away but I also want to try and create content while I'm in Morocco but I'm super excited about that trip it's going to be really very very special indeed and I can't wait to share the content with you and I just hope the content does well because so far the stuff I've done with Future Terrain it's been great content amazing people to meet but it's just not done very well in terms of views which I think is such a shame anyway I am waffling on I just felt like a bit of a chat with you today I've been a really busy few days I wanted to talk to my peddlers and I don't care I know lots of you said make it a midweek 360 I'll never do that it will always be a 180 I'll always have a bit of fun trying to squeeze the the main bit that I script which is this bit and put that into the 180 seconds because that's how I've been doing it for the last four and a half years and I don't really plan to change to be honest um but the video is always going to be over 180 seconds long like six or seven minutes normally anyway I might um now my editing's done for the day I'm just waiting for my video to upload so we can go live later I might just uh grab myself a cold one and sit in the sunshine and I hope you do the same anyway I hope you enjoyed that if you have done so please give me a thumbs up comments below are always welcome and if you haven't done so already please subscribe to Prepaid for plenty more content to come

actually it's the first time i've ventured outside because yesterday i was filming at duxford all day and it was actually this temperature it was a really brutal day and i've been editing all morning but i finally managed to get outside i thought i know i'll i'll do my midweek 180 outside in the sunshine but if you've not seen one of these before this is my midweek update where i bring you my news views and information about upcoming reviews all filmed in one take i'm gonna put 180 seconds in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen and that's it a very simple format so without further ado let's get cracking with this week's midweek 180 but i do have to apologize slightly for last week because i don't know quite how i did it i messed up my scheduling of the midweek 180 last week and it was actually scheduled to go live at seven not six and i only spotted it at like one minute past six when i was getting no no notifications and comments coming through on my phone and i looked and went oh my oh anyway that might have given a few people a bit of a chance to get in the um in the magnificent seven that weren't normally there but anyway let's get cracking with this week's midweek 180 and i promise i will make you go live at six o'clock i shall start my timer okay uh leader of the pack last week was dan grisley congratulations mate you were joined in the magnificent seven by ben higginson paul mead keith evans richard sergeant smoke out fpv and richard alsop so whoever was the first comment this week you'll be my leader of the pack next week and the first seven comments you will be in my magnificent seven where are you and what you're doing well that was andy hopton who was chilling out on the couch eating bourbons great biscuit choice um catching up on a bit of youtube after just having done a 150 five mile commute home um but that sounds pretty cool to me mate chilling out but wherever you are right now put it in the comments and i'll give you a chat next week uh last week's question was about movie cars uh mega list of cars but i've also now got a brilliant list of movies that i really need to go back and watch which was an unintended consequence of that question this week's question i wanted to know what the most unusual car you've ever driven is um when i was filming yesterday for tuesday's video which i'll mention in a moment i drove something called a della hay135m and had a really unusual gearbox um and and it was a very very interesting i only drove with like five or ten minutes around duxford but it was really interesting i'd love to know any interesting and different cars you've driven they're normally the older ones i guess uh formula one news well i guess um zanvar from the weekend was a pretty spectacular looking race although it was a bit dull max won congratulations max um not the best race in the world i love the fact that bottas completely ignored team orders and went for the fastest lap anyway and that's because he's leaving he's going to alfa romeo next year which has been announced today and that means that his seat is freed up for george russell and that has finally been announced i think it's the worst kept secret in formula one george russell going to mercedes to partner lewis hamilton two brits in the best car potentially certainly one of the two best cars doing quite well at the moment um i can't wait to see what george russell can do in that car next year i can't wait to see how um how louis deals with him as well um new car news while i was at salon prive at the weekend which was amazing and i'll be doing a film on that which will drop on the channel on friday but there was the if you like the dynamic um preview and and the first proper look at the new mclaren 765lt spider and what a stunning car that looked like um for me i'd still probably have the 600 lt because that's more within my uh with in my driving skill set but just look like an amazing amazing car i did put out a video
