200MPH Honda Lawn Mower! (S2000 Spins Out!)

The Evolution of Engine Technology: A Journey with Stuart

Stuart, a seasoned mechanic and racing enthusiast, has spent countless hours fine-tuning his 300ZX's engine to achieve optimal performance. Recently, he had an opportunity to showcase his car at a major event, and we were privileged to witness his journey firsthand.

After a recent half-mile run in the car, Stuart noticed that the LSD (Limited Slip Differential) was not ideal for low-traction driving. The LSD acted like a locker, causing the car to spin and making it difficult to maintain traction. This led Stuart to believe that he needed to swap out the current LSD with a more suitable option. He initially considered installing a stock Nissan VLSD (Variable Limited Slip Differential), which would not lock up like the current LSD.

The new VLSD would provide a tighter clutch, reducing the likelihood of the car's rotation being affected by external factors. Stuart was confident that this change would resolve the issue and improve his car's overall performance. With the stock Nissan VLSD in place, Stuart felt more comfortable driving the car, especially on low-traction surfaces.

As we watched Stuart work on his car, it became clear that he has a deep understanding of engine technology and its limitations. He explained to us that developing an engine program involves identifying at what point components fail. This expertise allowed him to make informed decisions about modifying his car's components, ensuring that any changes would not compromise its performance.

After swapping out the LSD, Stuart's car was ready for action. We were impressed by his ability to set goals and work towards achieving them, as evident in his recent record-breaking run. With a speed of 204.9 mph on the timing equipment and 206.1 mph on draggy, Stuart has proven himself to be a formidable force in the world of motorsports.

Despite the impressive performance, Stuart's car did suffer some damage during the event. A big hole was discovered in the engine block, likely caused by excessive stress on the engine. While this was disappointing news, Stuart remained optimistic about his car's prospects for future competition.

Stuart plans to take his 300ZX to the World Cup Finals, a major racing event that promises to be a challenging but exciting experience. He is already exploring options for upgrading his car's components, including the use of aluminum rods instead of steel ones. This move would not only improve his car's performance but also provide valuable insights into engine technology.

As we concluded our conversation with Stuart, it became clear that he is passionate about developing his cars and pushing their limits. His dedication to excellence is inspiring, and we look forward to seeing how his 300ZX performs at the World Cup Finals. With Stuart's expertise and commitment, there's no doubt that this car will be a force to be reckoned with in the world of motorsports.

In a surprising turn of events, our conversation was interrupted by an announcement that Stuart had accidentally set a new record – not for speed, but for damage. It seemed that his car had suffered a significant blowout during the event, resulting in a substantial hole in the engine block. While this was an unfortunate development, Stuart remained calm and composed, taking it as a sign of progress.

As we parted ways with Stuart, we couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for his skills and dedication to the sport. His passion for engine technology and racing is contagious, and we're excited to see how his 300ZX will perform at the World Cup Finals. With Stuart at the helm, it's clear that this car is destined for greatness.

The conversation with Fred continued as we discussed the finer points of racing strategy. Stuart explained that he had been riding safely with a cone in the track, ensuring that he could maintain control and avoid any potential hazards. He also mentioned that he would be pacing himself to ensure that his speedometer was accurate, knowing that it didn't always work reliably.

As we wrapped up our conversation, Stuart mentioned that he had set a goal for himself – to run at 200 mph on the dragstrip. Unfortunately, he fell short of this mark, achieving a speed of only 204.9 mph. However, he remained optimistic about his chances, citing his experience and skills as reasons why he would be able to break through the 200-mph barrier.

Stuart's determination and focus are qualities that make him an inspiring figure in the world of motorsports. His passion for engine technology and racing is evident in every aspect of his work, and we're excited to see how his 300ZX will perform at the World Cup Finals.

As Stuart prepared to leave, he mentioned that he would be taking his car to the World Cup Finals, a major racing event that promises to be a challenging but exciting experience. With Stuart's expertise and commitment, there's no doubt that this car will be a force to be reckoned with in the world of motorsports.

In a final act of sportsmanship, Stuart graciously conceded defeat to Fred, who had set a new record for speed. Despite his own impressive performance, Stuart remained humble and acknowledged Fred's achievement. This attitude is a testament to Stuart's character and dedication to the sport, and we're honored to have had the opportunity to witness his journey firsthand.

As our conversation came to a close, it became clear that Stuart's 300ZX is more than just a car – it's a symbol of his passion and commitment to the sport. With Stuart at the helm, this car will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with in the world of motorsports.

already 200. so do you want to say the number do you want to say yeah i'll say it it's either gonna blow up or do it so i think down pass just to make sure nothing's gonna fall off the car from me working on it you know okay and then next pass it's gonna be nine out of ten you have the you do you have that 2000 record yeah yeah about like 10 miles an hour what is it what is the current record 199 unofficially 199.6 i think i think the official timer is like a 198.8. give me a rundown real quick i know you've made some changes in the car give me a full run down on the asset yeah so um so it's still f-22 engine um so the block that came in this car um steel rod no dry sump like basic engine build like some decent head work on it quite sequential gearbox motec ecu and dash still on ethanol single and tank pump ejector and mx injectors before it was on a 67 68 millimeter zone rudder uh 95 69 turbo and that turbo was great but i got to talk talking to a buddy of mine mark that owns real street performance and he was talking about this precision 6785 it's a class legal turbo for the class running world cup finals true street but it makes about 10 more pounds of boost than my old zone rotor did gotcha it should be about 12 12 50 wheel right now okay and it's the the good news for the even better news is like the 1050 it kind of started to fall off around 8 500 or 9 and this thing is making way more power up top so it's like 250 maybe 300 more on like 9 to 10 000 rpm what do you rev it to 10 000. oh geez yeah jeez yeah so it's either gonna break or it's gonna go 200. that is the only option if i'm going to call it if it doesn't blow up i think it's you know 205 206. okay i guess it's kind of an asterisk record but it'd be cool to me so the fastest officially any s2000 ever been in any distance is 203. really so there's a the fastest quarter-mile s2000 world's been two or three in the quarter it's obviously a gutted full range but if i go over 203 it's officially the fastest s2000 existence really cool well man i love seeing the car out you bring it to half miles and it's like the only time i get to see it run and it's freaking awesome so good luck today hopefully we see 200 plus yeah it still drives on the trailer it's either going to be celebrations or smoke so you'll it's a very easy call to make gotcha good luck man ah all right i got a bone to pick with you okay you said he's either going to break or go 200. i said one either of those things one shakedown pass next pass is going to be turned up so it's it started i've never run the half mile on these rag radios before and started walking around in fifth and sixth a little bit so i put max wing angle in it all right next time yeah next time it'll be full power okay um go stewart go steward right there that's 200 mile an hour burnout right there stewart has had endless passes on this car trying to reach 200. he's got the power for this event let's see if he can do it right now oh no oh no don't hit anything don't hit anything oh my god unfortunately the airport white stripes do not provide traction and he just had too much power on that on that right or too much traction on the right tire not enough on the left spun him out looks like he drove out of the grass yeah he's out of the grass thank god that how was that was wasn't that scary was it it looked a lot sketchier everywhere for you growing up it started to spin i was like oh that's not going to correct scary for him but for you guys my only thing was when it hit the grass i was like oh i don't know how this is going to do it just start sliding so i guess yeah now it's got to fix it put my other tires on and go 200. i need to look at the drag he was on a good side phase was it did you hit the white stripe is that what did it or what no it was pretty much skating the whole time okay and the run before like it skated in fifth and then when i got into six it just kind of settled down so i he was doing the same thing in fifth and i just hit six and it didn't settle down at six so then it was like hopefully i can still keep running let's see all right get over there the dream for 200 is not dead today yeah all right take more than that did it get your tires changed out yeah we doing 200 this time no i'm gonna i'm gonna do a couple shakedown passes make sure there's nothing weird going on with the car i drove around the pitch and it feels fine like the wheel's off center but it's not pulling or anything weird so all right that's that that's probably safe to take do a few shakedown pass before we go back hard again all right good luck it looked like it was pulling yeah it looked like you got sideways yeah and then he then he got in it hey we still went 180. you got a little squirrely there the track is really bad right off the line like i'm leaving off like two or three thousand rpm and it's just hazing the tire like i'm not even done with the clutch or anything is it because you switched to these tires oh it was almost just about on the drive really yeah i just saw you moving around a lot more on that so i mean i stayed in in first and i guess the boost maybe didn't fall off as far as i thought it did so still in power and i got back into it and it just acted like it never recovered second and third and then once i got in fourth it was pretty fine i tell you like i saw that that's why you get all squirrely then at one point you just got in and you stood at 180 yeah which is impressive considering how much like it seemed like half the track you're right all over the place so we're gonna do one more pass today we're just gonna be done yeah okay cool ah so stuart did not hit 200 yesterday and it looks like they're working on the car hey fred how's it going i have a suspicion that the lsd that i put in here after the last half mile ram is not ideal for the low traction stuff okay and it it acts a lot like a locker and so i think like when i'm driving it feels like it starts to spin it really tries to follow the way the car is moving okay and so it's like it's really hard to catch the rotation right and it's never done that like it ain't happening so i'm gonna put i'm going to put the stock nissan diff back in it okay which is a vlsd that won't lock up like that is that a 300 zx yeah okay so this one's a a clutch type but it's like it's a really really tight one and i think it's literally just locking up and kind of really causing the acid and to get squirrely gotcha so i'm gonna put the vlsd one back in i think it's gonna fix it hold that thing up for us here you go man here we go how long have you been working for that years only like a year only like eight years this looks good what's up stuart hi how's it going so we got the exact mo same mile an hour and a half mile right whoa whoa whoa whoa what did you do six 200.62 i went two hundred and four point nine sir oh you did another one i missed it no freaking away it was 206 on draggy but no way i'm pretty happy with that damn yeah yeah you have a lot of power in that car yeah it's not able to put it all down no damn but you can so you should drag my ass i can't turn it up any further it's all the way still way quicker than me we should we probably need someone to ride though that's gonna be the tricky part unless you want to do how do you want to start it um is there a marker let's see um we could what about fred stu and i are going to do a roll race how do you think we should start it he doesn't want anybody in his car for safety yeah no no yeah i mean it's gone straight the entire weekend right yeah yeah the second half of the weekend could you get them to like why don't we why don't we just ask them if we could put a cone out in the track you're 13 20 dude like yeah they do it you got an hour i could probably do maybe 65 but i know i know i can do 65 i'll do 60k i'll just pace you because my speedometer doesn't work half the time okay so i'll just get up to you and then i'll just pace you and we hit the phone sure perfect yeah and i'll just stay with you and then we hit the con we'll go it broke something's pretty good too oh i think it broke a rod really it's done yeah it's got a big hole in the block oh damn yeah got a big hole in the side of the block well you said that you were going to go 200 or break it i guess not both but you still have yours yeah i'd much rather break it at 65 than at 205 oh yeah a lot safer for you and the car yep but i got engine diaper caught it all so we're good good responsible racer thank you stuart for not ruining the racing surface good weekend hey stuart you're kind of an overachiever right yeah look you set goals and you go for them and you literally destroyed them you destroyed every goal yeah you destroyed blowing it up you destroyed the 200 but did you go two or four yeah i went 204 9 on their timing and 206.1 on draggy really and my dragging stuff's been like within a tenth of a mile an hour all weekend so i'm gonna claim 206. i heard you put a nice little window in the block it's a we size hole it's a wee size hole gotcha so not that bad still need a new block well i you know i'm gonna run it at world cup finals and since i'm leaning on the car i mean that was probably 1250 almost 1300 wheel right and we're still on steel rods i've been in here for almost two years okay and so i i've already been playing with the idea of putting aluminum rods in it for world cup finals pretty happy with it and i mean that's part of that's part of developing the engine program is finding at what point stuff fails yeah so i'm not mad about it well it was great seeing you man congrats thank you the world record holder yup and now maybe we'll see a bigger build out of the car for definitely oh yeah man we'll see you we'll see you then that was scariest oh my godthis video is presented by 1320 street shine a line of professional grade car care products developed by enthusiasts or
