The Art of Building a Training Droid with Halt and Catch Fire

As I began my journey to build a training droid, I found myself at a crossroads. yeah celebration uh i wear it i probably shouldn't because it's worth that much but i was really disappointed like incredibly like i've picked up merch from star wars celebration before and i pick and choose i don't get all the things uh but um this box was a massive disappointment i seem to remember tweeting that to them i'm like is it a t-shirt and a mug it came with a couple other things i guess and you know different collectibles trip different people's triggers and that's fine i'm not trying to take away from anybody's enjoyment of star wars and or celebration although i will note i'll give a shout out to rule of two i do believe just started following yesterday just picked up the r2d2 lego set i've not gone that far at least at this point it could happen i'm not saying i won't i'm saying i'm not i'm still not sure about it because i tend to be someone who as i mentioned in comments during the did something fart did i fart did i totally miss a fart i apologize if i missed the fart uh i i can i can build up more gas for everybody if that would help um so uh the uh uh uh uh during the the the preamble right during the stay tuned just getting started stream starting soon uh i had mentioned that i'm more of a minifigure kind of person and i probably will be forever like it's just the figures for me even as far as 3d printing is concerned uh while most people who get 3d printers are intent on doing big old props kind of like seth lord britt who you should be following by the way uh shout out to her and she's doing a stream right now she's a part of the locker gnome geeks and nerds team but uh she was doing or paint today she was painting grogu's pram for the lack of a better word the pram the hovering pram it wasn't hovering it was on a table right but anyway oh man apparently it's been a long day i'll get to my coffee update in just a second but even when i'm printing stuff the star wars stuff and what's on the printer right now is the other half of the training droid this is the first half did it today now you can't tell because of this camera but this is the iridescent pearl uh atomic filament and it looks nice because it's got this it looks white to you it looks white to me but then in the light if you shine it a certain way uh it reflects back this pink kind of color so it's a really neat effect on the training ball so when the other half of the training ball is complete i'll basically uh rotate one by 45 degrees glue them together and i might go through and paint the details on it but i'm just as inclined to keep the training ball completely white at this point maybe until i you know accrue a bit more experience with the paintbrush but this turned out really nice and the other half like i mentioned is printing out right now that was really the only way for me to do it and in fact the model comes in two bottom part looks like a sand dollar for some reason so i don't know if those are for like plastic notches to help you know bring together the the various halves basically rotate it by 45 degrees and you've got a complete training ball it's got some heft to it because the infill is about 15 percent but it's working pretty well or working well enough so that is the other half that is what's printing right now now see here i didn't fart oh okay thank you for mentioning that i didn't fart because i wasn't sure i wasn't sure short clip i may like i don't know if i can play it during the stream oh actually i've seen that i think that's from uh the toys that made us rc maniac great series on netflix krillin 64 notes he had the lego mindstorm star wars droid developer kit you could build r2d2 with didn't know if you still haven't moved from our last place yeah that was uh really some of the larger scale star wars things that were originally produced i have the the technic vader i also have a technic stormtrooper both of which i believe i picked up thrifting believe it or not i can always prime and paint over again yeah but see there's something that oops hang on sorry diana um the uh there's something i like and i can't thank you i cannot explain that the iridescent effect of this but like painting over it would be i think a waste of the filament so uh thank you uh i am trying barbecue i have not had barbra i'm not a barbecue fan okay thank you so uh i've been going to trader joe's lately and then we don't do a lot of shopping at trader joe's but generally speaking they sometimes have some pretty cool products quite a few vegan items so found this one pulled jackfruit in smoky barbecue sauce uh heat in the pouch and serve trader joe's uh it's only got 260 calories for the full pouch it's not that large and as i mentioned it is vegan so i thought i'd give it a shot as it's dripping everywhere hun okay i'm gonna set it down there hopefully she did clean it out perfectly i'm going to try some barbecue and hope that it does not drip every oh man that smells like barbecue dude i have not had barbecue in years nice now you're trying to get your hands on a darth vader lego helmet uh well my recommendation rule of two is wait until lego has a discount like not in terms of price but like uh or maybe price i don't think it's gonna drop but like a bonus right there are certain other stores that might carry it that may get a discount but like if you uh if you wait until they give you like a free minifigure or a free set that's when i would get it so i would wait i would absolutely wait that's my opinion i but i would always wait for the uh the bonuses oh no jackfruit oh i love jackfruit jackfruit is is great it tastes like a fatty barbecue man that is spicy fatty pork barbecue hmm the jackfruit is perfect hmm getting locked hole sorry i guess i got a jackfruit hole i was not expecting that well better than biting into a bone it tastes like uh it's definitely barbecue sauce i can tell you that much right now that is spicy oh man oh man that is way spicy trader and we sit in it what what now you want some barbecue ah this is worth it it was only like two bucks definitely spicy oh guilt-free though for me guilt-free i'm gonna start painting like a dog boy i should i should sit in our we've got a jacuzzi tub we don't have a hot tub we got a jacuzzi tub i should put but we should do bubbles in it and then i'll do a stream from there uh you know what people gotta do to get attention on youtube are twitch do it add water and get in i would the problem is we're using it right now downstairs uh it's actually been inflated for the summer months it is a spray pool so while sitting in this tub of sorts because of water you know some new container water that's warm water so it's kind of hot you can spray it's got a little tool that you can spray out of the middle so it's a spraying hot tub there you go liz liz said put hot tub in the in the twitch title dvc mango says i never read titles i just click the streams people i support regardless of the just search the fangs.com database but also other popular engines as well so if i i can uh let's see here jedi template i'm just doing a generic search jedi template just to throw it off a bit so uh it's linking off to thingiverse my mini factory which are two websites that i have used directly before there's a jedi tree which i definitely want to print when i go to a browner filament uh a uh let's see here as we scroll down rose tico necklace from the last jedi i wanted to do a couple of those for jedi and and diana to wear while i had the gold i should have done that uh but anyway so it links out to a lot of other i said engines but for the lack of a better word repositories for uh these uh items and so it's an easier way of doing one search and searching across all the databases well not all many of the databases that i otherwise would be using directly including this one prusaprinters.org so this is just one search that i did how i found the item that i'm printing now was just browsing the front page of fangs.com and it just showed up and i'm like oh my god i wanted to print one of these and so i just kind of i i made it a point to do this what you know i'm looking at it and what i may end up doing i don't know if how i feel about uh the red areas because my feeling is i get really messy and i don't want to mess things up i feel pretty confident about painting the the darker gray areas that i believe i could handle uh but uh i'm going to give it a shot anyway once i glue it uh i mean i'm gonna give it a shot as in printing it i don't know yet if i am going to further customize it uh with uh the the paint colors but the cool thing about this that i'm showcasing here uh is a i wouldn't have found it if it wasn't for thangs b it's hosted on things and c if i go over to a mobile web browser and you can use uh any uh you know either uh let's see here do i have it ready and pulled up i don't think i do uh if you if you use ios or android what you can do is head over to thangs.com do it i mean if you can do a search for anything but if i did a search for training droid i did this last night live as well it'll go through its database and there's one item but i this one this is the one that jumped out at me i'm like whoa that one looks really really good so uh you can tap open in augmented reality and what will happen whether you're on ios or android is the object itself will load right here object you can twist around and then you can view it in your space so there's the ball now it's really large let's go ahead and shrink it a tiny bit but yeah i don't know if you can see my the what's on the screen but the ball is now there the ball is floating in midair and i can drag it around i can rotate it i can resize it let's see here i can i'm just i'm doing some something really quick here so i don't know if you're going to get the full effect but the idea is that you could take a look at any object and uh effectively uh see it in real time in your space in your environment so thangs.com allows you to view the files that are at least hosted on thanks.com in 3d so that should answer your question through and through that's one of the reasons why i'm printing the training droid always wanted to have one of these and now i will print it out and unfortunately the camera doesn't do this filament justice because it's got this nice little sheen tweets or me mentioning yesterday that jedi was on the playground and uh kids were playing with uh like pokemon i was like oh man i gotta do the pokemon thing and i had a few pokemon cards laying around that i've thrifted before but i didn't know if i if she was going to get into him i didn't want to invest a lot of money and like all this stuff so jt master jedi was going to be sending any some some stuff anyway he was just waiting for a box and he it just so happens that he also happened to have uh some extra pokemon cards i'm like yeah absolutely like whatever is gonna help her you know do better and to figure all this stuff out absolutely so he went through he built her a deck and basically sent it off today and after he had sent it off i i had gone thrifting oh i've got an aziz purple i love the purple we stood out the rainbow from last night here we go with purple purple um so i'm going to show you the haul that i picked up today uh that i was not expecting to pick up a day after me saying on twitter and then me mentioning last night on twitch that you know jedis now needs to get pokemon cards so she can be you know one of the the you know one of the gang right at the park you know everyone else has pokemon cars so she needs pokemon cards and i thought you know hang on i thought i'd keep an eye out for pokemon and this is not something that i necessarily grab out right there every so often i'm like oh yeah i mean i see them enough thrifting that i don't pick them up knowing full well that i would pick them up again so i went thrifting today on my lunch break hoping hey you know and maybe maybe there'll be pokemon out today there wasn't just pokemon there was a ton of pokemon now i tweeted this i also posted it to facebook and ultimately it leaked onto discord but my brother ben was like dude if you when you see one of these things again when you see pokemon grab him i'll pay for him because i guess one of his kids one of my nephews he has pokemon he doesn't play pokemon he just likes the cars and like fine not a big deal in fact if we go through these and it turns out that we've got dupes jedi might have to pull him out so here's what i got i got this stack here for 3.99 minus 20 so about three bucks less than three dollars is what i got this stack for and these cards here on the bottom every time you see wrappers they're from different series like vivid voltage and shining fates they're all been opened so my guess is that someone opened them and then put them back in they were looking for like high value cards but uh these are 20 21 these i think these were 20 20. a second 2020 so they're re some of them are recent i have some older ones too from like a decade ago but like here's like a pokemon online like a promo in here that that leads me to believe again they were cut like quote unquote professionally at the top uh and gone through still this full like stack this this bag for 3.99 it's incredible okay uh i will get to that i will get to that deviously mango after i show or i will get to the vader time after i show the pokemon haul this is the first thing that i saw i saw two of these so i grabbed both this nice tin not beat up at all very nice pokemon tin so i knew jedi would need to store her pokemon cards in some kind of pokemon tin because that would make her you know really cool on the playground i grabbed two of those they were three dollars minus 20 like 250 or something like that this bag of pokemon cards for about three bucks pokemon you can tell pokemon i got another bag for three bucks or sorry let's see this this bag was that all yeah here's another bag that was full of packs but packs that have been opened this was also three bucks after the discount here's another one i haven't opened uh another one for four bucks and another one now what was interesting about this one is that i believe it i believe that's japanese so like some of these aren't even in english yeah i wasn't trying to catch them all but jedi might have them all at this point send you pics of the old ones when you have oh man i i i will but it's it's a stack and a hat because i thrift them i'm like every so often that's a pretty good price i'll grab them now that i know i know people who are looking for them i'll i'll make a concerted effort to get more of them there are places not selling pokemon and baseball cards yeah i heard about that another one for 3.99 so i basically got one two three four five six six bags for about three dollars each give or take but they're all full of pokemon like every one of them it's all like back to back pokemon and i don't even know anything about pokemon i know nothing i did it because jedi i i probably if if jedi had not gone to the playground and poking them on not been a thing last night i would i probably wouldn't have done what i uh what i did okay so this is it seems like a special card it's a a zygarde base it says basic though but it's in this nice little container it's kind of got this uh uh the background is this foil with a hand on it i don't know some kind of energy the hell that is matchless fighters is that japanese set of cards oh okay fair enough i did not know that another zygarde this one this one's got a different effect on it this one's got an effect on the actual image people who love pokemon are likely cringing a bit why is that bad what did i do uh hop trainer i don't know they just they look there's there's these these seem to be special because they're like outliers right they're outside the packages another promo card uh and then cards that were likely discarded from uh being open like a pokeball 2020. these are recent just i'd assume commons but you know for for someone like jedi who may be looking through and seeing images and go oh that looks cute oh that looks cool oh look it's a weedle weedle i i don't i don't know what any of these are no it's okay he's new thank you thank you uh you're not telling any of your pokemon fan friends about this why what did i do did i do something wrong or are they going to get angry what did i do interesting dividers here these dragons too expensive to keep up yeah that's how i feel like i don't i don't think i would i mean i've never gotten into any collectible card games but you know the way i look at it is if i'm able to get jedi a few of them at uh at a bottom dollar i'm good you used to have a bunch of old gen one pokemon cards game in a local game store it also sells cards wow wow yeah those would be the ones that that probably are worth a lot it seems like this stack is mostly 2020 and 2021. if i've if i've um kind of not read correctly but if i've opened up a few of these enough to look at like this one the stack of of cards like 2021 2021 so i'm guessing someone got all these they got all of them went through them individually as pac uh packages and uh then decided that they didn't they didn't they only they got the ones that they wanted the rare ones or whatever and they just wanted to discard the rest and it was easier just to donate than it probably would have been to sell online but i've seen people sell like 100 pokemon cards for like 10 bucks or something like that so i was like well you know one two three four five six seven eight nine ten you know like you count them out and like here it's if i'm sure people would do that uh that's another way of doing it i'm sure most of what i have here is not worthless but not something that you know a lot of people would be you know climbing over each other to get still you know if if if if between between what i thrifted here and what i've thrifted before and what's coming in you know if jedi gets that much further ahead then hey that's awesome because it didn't cost us all that much this is about 20 bucks that's that's about the total spend i also got these two tins today they were thrifted in another bag that i got heroes playing cards and kylo ren playing cards but they come in these nice little tins i love the fact that they put the resistance logo on there but i would have loved the the deck even more if it was the jedi logo jt master jedi said made sure to pack few special cards for jedi too since they had some extras for a few well there you go that'll i'm sure like she if she gets to be like a a master like she's just going to absolutely love it i'm not expecting she's going to be a pokemon master anytime soon it could happen just putting these back because if she comes in here and she sees them i want those what why where's mine why don't i get any and i don't want to give her all of them your entire party almost died because you tried to watch the show last night while playing d d oh ethan's dad 3d what are you doing no no d if you're thing i found today there's a new wave of vintage collection figures uh some of them are are older right in the redone like vc 22 admiral ackbar emperor's royal guard and this is another older one vc105 tvc line of course uh vc62 so you might argue these are repacks but i'm guessing that the sculpts have been updated in vc95 so a lot of them uh repack slash new slash updated i had or have the admiral ackbar vintage collection or black series as they were i think they were calling it when i picked it up and this is okay there's nothing wrong with this uh you know there's nothing that exciting in this line i already had them but you know i mean in terms of the figures maybe not the uh specifically on vintage collection cards uh but now i do i'll never likely ever get the the vintage collection unfortunately the full run it it's not gonna happen i'm never going to have all the star wars figures that i ever wanted as sad as that sounds as much as i would love that it's not gonna happen but i'll still enjoy the modern figures as they come along there will be no complaints happening there okay so i showed uh the pokemon haul which hopefully hopefully was not um too to i i don't i still don't understand what i did wrong apart from not understanding pokemon so sad i know cenia i know it is but that's why i will i will get whatever star wars i can get in the interim okay playing because i don't want anybody to take advantage of her until she knows and that would be it would be amazing to be able to effectively train her but for that to happen i'd have to train myself ebay purchase right there she's honestly fine trading most cards i'll let you know what kinds to not let her trade fair enough am i going to use it oh jedi's using it now yes it's it's out of the box it's not in the box the only thing in there is the spray tool and the instructions right the spray tool in the middle um but yeah she's using it it is actually being used the only reason i got it was of the force stuff i'm not i i'm probably not going to bend over backwards to get in terms of star wars figures uh but like the vintage stuff oh i'd absolutely i i snapped that stuff up oh the oh from when the movies come out came out the og like the vintage like old old old i i don't have any holes in my collection but i do pick up vintage figures i am i i will pick up vintage figures modern figures it just depends you were a kid during the original pokemon craze in the late 90s fun time see i was it would have been that would have been uh pat i would i would have been well past it i was well past that well past it that that would have been the dark times right you know episode one uh one was right around the corner okay so we had a little bit of star wars but honestly there was nothing about you know the fandoms that that necessarily pulled me in uh just let jedi learn pokemon if she trades a cool card that's all part of the learning no i don't want to do that like kind of set her up 79 80 those one came out new hope et cetera well doing 1984 are you selling them what are you thinking because i mean if they're indecent i'll i'll i'll pick up any vintage stuff like that easily you were a kid collecting pokemon cards in late 90s see it that the time period just completely missed me and it's funny how it's still relevant and i saw the other day like you could tell he was like one of the cool kids right he walks in he's got a binder he's like well got my cards here and like okay let me just go ahead and well see if i knew how to do anything with these cards i could be that much more impressive a strict work card she takes out with her yeah liz that's that would be the idea at least initially if she's into it and that's the thing is i don't know i want to encourage it because it's a social activity it's pop culture it's you know something that may encourage her to start reading a bit more to learn um but i want to make it happen or i want to let it happen organically which is another reason why i would not want to just foist all of these cards upon her because a i don't know what they are and and b i would i would want her to basically learn to be able to go through it and ascertain oh these are the things i need these are the things that i don't necessarily need at six years old like i'm not sure she's quite there yet you remember a few years ago how pokemon go was a big thing yes i remember that as well everyone was running around the city playing it then after a few weeks it disappeared like a fart in the wind uh yeah i uh i i saw the craze and i'm like if i was in the p if if i had nostalgia for pokemon it would be a different story i mean i look at him like okay that's kind of neat but i never watched the cartoon never had the cards never got into the trends knew enough right i'm like okay i guess it's this and i guess that's what's going on and this is okay um but it's interesting how that has stuck around and is still somewhat very relevant the fact that there's a kid on the playground kids on the playground are playing pokemon is a pretty big deal yeah we were too old for it it definitely is still a thing i would love the same thing to happen with star wars but the thing about star wars is i'm not gonna say it's as relevant as pokemon in the same way but you can you can't you can't go to a playground without some kid recognizing star wars like inevitably star wars gets recognized so it may not be a thing where people are trading action figures or star wars playing cards or anything like that although if disney was smart they would have something like a pokemon for kids they don't they've had like table games and i've got those cards too i pick them up thrifting i i get them pennies on the dollar like i'm i i don't think i've ever well maybe once or twice i've paid for one um but i'm like top dollar or like you know going rates for these cards but you know given that it shocks me that like this pack here right as i as i pull this out this pack break points 10 additional game cards this pack could have gone for like three or four bucks which is incredible to me um i mean it's fine oh i don't but more importantly we can't always get the things that we want for mother's day we ended up getting some ramen to go and pick that up at the mall and uh the in in the state of washington like when they come by for food inspection you get a you know a label in the window like excellent or good or okay or fair and i swear like the ramen place we went to was like scraping the bottom of the barrel like like do we really cause it was a takeout but i'm like do we really want to eat here ever again we were fine no one got sick so uh low poly pokemon collection all right what we got here oh yeah a vegan food stream it wouldn't be that interesting i don't think because it's not going to be like a complex thing but like vegan nachos maybe we could save some vegan tacos and i'm waiting for a an upgrade to come in before we do it because i feel like like it'll be somewhat better taking the uh um taking the the camera that i use for for this bringing this remote taking it downstairs audio gets a little fudgy too it'll it'll definitely be different and it'll definitely look a hell of a lot different but we can do some vegan cooking streams they won't be as i think complex as let's say cobalax but did i update people on my coffee saga i i don't i don't know did i i today i tried a quad espresso got two shots into it and i was done so right now it's it seems that my body is right at the point of only being able to handle two shots of espresso so tomorrow i'm going to press my regular coffee accordingly it's kind of sad you're not vegan but you're interested in adding more vegan dishes to your diet add some bready well um trader joe's i'm telling you they've got some really good options really affordable and like meals regular meals regular desserts like not anything out of the ordinary it doesn't take much it really doesn't and i get well maybe i'm an outlier but i end up getting a lot of our fresher fruits and vegetables on sale like i'll wait like celery might be two dollars at the store like cut washed ready and uh i'll wait until it goes on manager's special like close out for 99 cents i'm like well i'll just spend 99 we're going to eat it in a day so or like dips like plant-based dips normally four dollars i'll wait until their manager's special and grab them for two so i i don't generally spend that much depending on what it is right and depending on availability and depending on why it is that we're picking it up uh don't spend a lot on it and still eat you know i would say rather well trader joe's has got a ton of vegan things and i guess target is also now kind of beefing up so to speak it's it's it's plant-based inventory though target tends to be a bit pricier not sure that i would say target over trader joe's trader joe's very affordable target does have some affordable stuff depending on what it is uh we have a kroger uh store a food chain that fred meyer actually does pretty well with pricing but it just depends on what you're getting it just depends tall depends omg laser kittens hope your doorknob saga is over have you selected a new doorknob is there is there a new doorknob on the horizon or or are you still stuck in that room that's my number one question for you omg laser kittens uh yeah yes though i've not installed the new knob yet oh that'd be the first thing i did like i had to replace locks a few years back like he did an amazing job but so like i'm browsing the front page like there's a search that we were doing here earlier tonight but just going through the front page oh iron giant that's kind of neat but like um yeah okay some average stuff and you have some practical stuff and it just jumped out it like it would have bit me right like it just shocked me that it was just right there he's one of the top designers well kudos to him because he did a fantastic freaking job like as much as i would love to have a training ball without having to use supports that's you know not gonna happen my only feedback to him would be make it such that you wouldn't necessarily need to use infill because i had to because of the way the top was put together it needed infill and i know i could have done krusty told me there's different ways of getting around it but you would be able to he would have potentially been able to do this without requiring anybody to do any amount of infill i feel it could have been done that way and still like two parts to glue together which would have worked just fine you don't need as much info as you're using yeah probably not i went with 15 percent because i'll just be safe i'll be fine not a biggie i probably could have gone with 10 but i'm like i kept looking and like i don't want to risk it i don't want to get to the top and then like something suddenly happens but i have not yet learned how to do the uh you know a lot of infill at the bottom or the top but like you know not a lot in between i haven't yet learned how to do that i probably should because then when i if i did this part would be like five percent or maybe it would be nothing and then as i got to the top that's when i'd start to introduce it so omg laser kittens is going with an ender 3v2 oh squarely within the ender camp which is fine nothing wrong with that blind via was messing around with his ender the other day having fun with it you know and the thing is about 3d printing you know uh even if you uh even if you have one you're going to have another at some point in the somewhat near future although i'm very happy to say i only have one right now i only plan on having one there's always more to find to print but i don't feel like i need any more um any more printers just one one is fine one is sufficient and yes omg laser kittens uh krusty 3d has been amazingly helpful you want a prusa but you don't want to wait 14 weeks omg laser kittens oh i feel you that would have driven me nuts too so i've already printed a snake in place these are really cool let me grab one i did it a few weeks ago it turned out really well it's just a snake right now print in place pretty solid right this was a fun print i love it's like a little fidget kind of not spinner but like you know fidget widget thing you think when you launch tags and curation you'll have even more stuff to print oh yeah i'd hope so all the star wars all of it because i've got a i've got a list of things that i means different things to different people so everybody enjoys it differently some people love the books some people love the comics some people love the the movies some people love just the cartoons they just certain aspects of the fandom some people just love cosplaying there's a certain aspect of the fandom that they enjoy but it's the fact that everybody can enjoy the same thing differently that makes the community as interesting shall we say as i think it is so as much as i enjoy star wars from collecting or printing or let's say chatting and interacting and discovering um i would never take away from somebody else's enjoyment of the fandom so for example as much as i suck at playing video games or painting or drawing art or making art uh i would never take that away from someone who does that and enjoys that fandom that way that's how they enjoy the same fandom if anything it gives me the ability to see the fandom through a different set of eyes so i very much enjoy watching and listening and experiencing and reveling in the same fandom but differently so i feel that i feel that it's uh it's important to keep that in mind because i've seen so many so-called fans out there who are i think wrapped up in in their own insecurities that they project onto other people and that's not the kind of environment that i like to be in it's not the kind of environment that i support it's not the kind of environment that i endorse like just let people enjoy star wars the way that they enjoy it right and we can have fun we have battles and we can agree and disagree about you know which is better you know this film or that film but ultimately you know everyone's going to enjoy it differently can we just that's the one thing we have in common we're enjoying the same thing just differently and in many ways i gotta say in many ways the 3d printing community has worked in in a similar fashion where i might be using a prusa mini 3 or a prusa mini plus to 3d print but if someone was using an ender right i i wouldn't necessarily slag them like ah how could you use that one because blah blah blah blah you're 3d printing something what are you 3d printing like what are you making oh cool i want to make that too there's a certain way that you know communities can be built and i i'm not i'm not someone who would necessarily be as myopic as to believe that this is the only way to do something as to say the only way to enjoy star wars is the original movies i like but i i liked all of them and there were some people who would take away from my enjoyment of those films because they didn't enjoy them fine don't i'm not telling you what to enjoy have at it so i i like uh finding other streamers out there other creators who are making things that i haven't yet done that i may never do that doesn't take away from the things that i have done or the things that i'm interested in krusty 3d says we can all agree the best star wars movies was was the expanse oh man wrong with it i i get into this i mean it's not a debate it's it's a healthy fruitful discussion theoretically but like even even uh there's a youtube channel i follow toy galaxy and they do deep dives on like old stories of like you know vintage or in my generation vintage toys or like things that happen to the things that we remember the the background behind them and toy galaxies it's it's they're they're fantastic amazing and then they started live streaming on twitch and now like those interactive streams they have with their community i think complement their youtube channel more than just streaming on youtube could do like i i mean i look forward to every one of their streams because inevitably they're doing something that's up my ally or down my alley up my breaks and makes up or down i don't know uh but yeah the uh uh the feeling i have is that twitch is definitely more for live engagement youtube i don't know i've yet to be i mean they've got some features but there's so much more acceleration you can do on twitch that you can't really do on youtube at least at this point in time and that might change uh joe noob uh makes and breaks is seriously one of the best humans i know he's great i only got to know him because he was on twitch and you can i mean you can tune into the stream photos mint hangs out frequently in his streams like i mean i get to know people inside the 3d printing community because on twitch i feel like i have a more direct access to the people i'm talking to versus watching people you know i watch people but they're also interacting with me and twitch is built around that type of model and i think your show strikes a very good balance between you're running a show producing a show having content scripting and also interacting and also saying oh so-and-so and pulling up a comment and here and there and it works like there's no it's not mutually exclusive but that's one of the reasons that i think twitch has a place uh at least for me if it feels like a better place for me to interact with people than youtube youtube i feel like i could get buried and youtube's not as community oriented as twitches you wouldn't be into the belt printing as much if it wasn't for noob really wow that's crazy how everybody kind of inspires each other uh i love it though honestly temples and flowers notes youtube's classic minifigures as well but uh i'm going to be printing off a couple of these for a diana here now that brick princess is is is around i could at least show her that that's what i'm going to be doing that's the next thing it's pretty cool well you couldn't get it any other way and i don't i guess i don't mind printing these parts i don't like them getting mixed in there's not a lot of them something i found on fangs oh sorry that's the that's the thang i'm going to be printing here afterwards diana wants more lego tales this is the uh droid that shot at luke skywalker in a new hope the training droid the ball in the millennium falcon it also made an appearance in um the uh uh the force awakens so i chose this filament brit because it turned out well this is like 50 of the original size too found it on fangs it's hosted on fangs um and i i chose this filament because it's iridescent uh and this just finished so i don't want to take it off yet i want to kind of let it kind of hold there but this is the iridescent pearl and i can't first i wish i could let me see if i can i'm going to try something here i want to see if you can detect now because the white balance on this camera like to my eye i can see this pink hue kind of a shimmering pink hue in in this filament what you see is just white but in person it's more than white it's like white pinkish and so i chose this one i do not plan on painting it uh it is solid all the way through probably could have been modeled otherwise but the way the the person did it he put like these notches in here uh i probably could have made it such that uh it didn't have as much infill as it did but having that infill will probably give it a little more weight so i guess it's not too much of a loss but the uh the the markings the design of this is is absolutely spectacular like this is absolutely spot on uh yeah it's a really nice filament it's atomic filament iridescent pearl pla not printed solid david was sad today but but um i'm going to be gluing them together he said the artist said basically take take it rotate it 45 degrees and then you've got the training ball so there's the training ball this is what it's going to look like i'm not i haven't glued it yet but this is what it's going to look like now see brit if i was like you or breaks and makes i would go in and paint paint it and detail it like specifically like the red parts uh and the the the the dark gray parts i just don't i i do not have as much confidence in my painting abilities so i don't want to do that but this turned out to be the perfect size it's got a good weight to it good heft uh everything i mean it's basically the same shape uh printed twice so no supports were necessary at all uh that's the way you know i like to be able to to see these things come out this might be the coolest thing you've ever seen me print dude tomorrow i mean like i don't want to glue it right now on stream because i really want to concentrate because i don't i want to get it just like alignment to be absolutely like perfect for obvious reasons so i want to pay all my attention to that but i will be gluing it and it won't take that long to dry but it turned out perfect the only thing that would make it better would be it painting like and i just i don't have that much confidence in my ability to not mess things up i i mean it's just too much and i don't want to ruin i don't want to paint over it like if i screw it up i don't want to paint over it because the the part of the reason i use this filament is specifically because of the color and because it had this like kind of a pink kind of a glow to it uh you know in i just i don't know i mean i i always make the wrong decisions when it comes to this but i probably could have printed in a solid white or solid cream but i just thought it just gives it a bit more depth um i know there's you're definitely going to be able to see the seam that's not gonna be something that i can avoid uh if you use acrylic mini paint you should be able to use a cleaner strip to paint and repaint it again i don't know dude i've i haven't had that much luck i mean i've had
