the JDM oh last time we're going to need like a frequent engine loyalty card from this place shout out to the homies at JDM Orlando always set us up with the engines look at that dude that thing is nice looking it's a Skyline right this green is so cool entering the abyss they have three different vvti 1js here one of them we compression tested well actually they compression tested for us and one cylinder was low so we can't use that one but we're going to have to pull the throttle body off that because it's non-electric throttle body and there's two left one also didn't have the greatest compression so we're down to one and we got to keep our fingers crossed Nicole that it has good compression or we're screwed yo if it doesn't then what happens then we don't have a good motor actually like theoretically theoretically if none of them here have good compression there's one other place that has like two yeah vvti ones it's just they might not let us swap everything so we might have to pay full price for the engine and trany there what do you think of this place Nicole that it's your first time here did you see yourself living in a place like this it's very dark I could see like villains living here in Disney movies getting nervous on this one oh boy that's good yeah the first two are good y we're good good we got a good one we got one we got a keeper all right so what do we do about coil packs though cuz this one doesn't have coil packs take out of that one okay hopefully they're good we're able to get the non electric Auto Body on the one day that we're taking it fit in the mini no AKA way too expensive for old crappy transmission that's going to break so we're putting the automatic transmission back on the non vvti 1j that we sto off of the R14 manual was on this one even though it was out of like a x110 so someone probably just swapped the inine pan and uh we got there swapped TR they made it back with the engine they stopped and grab some paint and other various accessories we're going to start getting to work it's late all the errands took a lot longer than expected so it's like what 9:00 p.m. right now okay 8:00 p.m. but we're basically starting everything at 8:00 p.m. and the goal is to get the engine fully refreshed get the bay clean and ready to do the swap and then maybe put it in today but probably tomorrow since we don't have the mounts hectic and R I know I'm sitting here cleaning and filming like always got it out got with the nicer wi special it must look like there's some sort of party going on here we've been pulling a lot of as simple as possible so stock Turbo stock manifold that leaves room in the future to upgrade the turbo and gain more power but for now we just want a simple quick swap our goal tonight is to basically do the main refresh of the engine paint it have it cleaned up so tomorrow we're ready to drop it in and then in theory we'll be a day ahead of schedule cuz tomorrow I think we should easily be able to knock everything out half of the day today we just SP driving around this just Heats it up so the paint sticks better rather than using a cold surface you know probably doing this on metal though so I don't like the skate light on fire intake manifold came out so pretty with just a nice little bit of silver paint the best thing is though when the silver paint chips it's just silver underneath so you can't even really see I thought my pizza was supposed to be that small one uhoh did they make a big one Pizza where's my pizza oh no box dude that's a thick Pizza where you got to get your cloths I got JDM Pizza Parts bro I want to see what this Bianca looks like the drinks are in Al White oh that smells good white craziest thing ever last afternoon I ordered a custom wiring harness because I knew that the one at the JDM place was going to be like chopped up it would be a mess to work with so I ordered one from wiring Specialties and they were able to get it made ship it out and get it to us the next morning a complete engine wiring harness how crazy is that I mean given they do have them pre-made so all I have to do is add the connectors but this is going to make the whole process so much easier and nicer I like this they have the igniter inside their car so it's out of the way and they realize too there less offu in the engine it'll just be Plug and Play right into the stock ECU mask it a big boost over there and I'm just paint prepping these things to paint those just a gloss black this is crazy what's going on right now at 1:00 a.m. I just want to add that like yeah we could probably do the swap way faster if we didn't like clean anything up but that's another type of people we are we're like almost perfectionists I don't want you to get right paint it gold we're trying to dry the block I think the goal now tonight is to get like valve covers off May valve cover gasket paint those just we like get to a nice pretty finished product so we're not just like leaving in the middle of a step for video sake you know but tomorrow we'll have a whole day ahead of us since we won't really have to be running million errands like we did today checked it just came from the cabinet I save all the baggies now I do not sell drugs for get the baggies uh she's a little sludgy the Crusty ones are the good ones that's true she's fine nothing like a good old oil change won't fix right I wish we could clean like no scores on them they look good yeah all the cam journals look really really good we can't clean right cuz that would be bad no yeah oh scoring that it it hurts me just to know that we're leaving all this crap in there running rich for a few weeks we get taking off the timing belt and we're going to replace the rebuild the vti gear cam seals timing belt water pump tensioner pulley all that a would it be easier for us to pick it up with the crane so we can do it in the air no okay looks like these uh good cams have already been replaced and then even on like the the vvti gear looks like somebody already rebuilt that cuz has the paint on it and then they already did the timing belt cuz they had the timing marks marked on it already we're just going to go Ahad and replace it anyhow cuz we're already here we botom so and the going to do the water pump too that thing doesn't look up the place all me so we just got the all the timing stuff back on it new water pump new tensioner um cleaned up everything over here rebuilt the vvti gear and new cam seals all that stuff so it's all ready to go Alberto's painting the valve covers or finishing heating up the painting or baking the valve cover he didn't like my paint job yeah he didn't like it so he's like I'll just do it my D um you're going to put the shifter bushing in and I'm going to paint this bracket cool might as well put a new shifter bushing in while it's nice and easy stupid me got the wrong bushing so uh we're just going to throw a little bit of grease in there which should make it a little smoother it's super grimy in there it's like all rusty and stuff so Adam's oh sorry the garage exploded dude like I'm messy the garage is you get that yeah what time is it Trev it is where we at 3:47 a.m. damn and uh we should be calling it quit soon we're just trying to put it together so we got a nice looking engine to call a night on we just picked up this engine a few hours ago yeah when did we get it when did we get it back here like 4 three later than that five it was 6 yeah we didn't get home until like 6 6:30 okay yeah so we've had this thing in possession for less than 12 hours and it's almost ready to go it's almost completely overhauled already yeah really all we have left to do is about gasket and re seal and then all the important gaskets are done yeah if it was just rebuilding it it will be done like couple hours ago but literally the cleaning and painting and preparing all these parts what takes forever like we're going to make it look nice if we're going to go through the trouble of doing it you know yeah all right all this stuff's over here just kind of drying Alberto told me to uh when I'm tightening the intake manifold to start from the inside and work my way out I guess it's kind of like a sticker where like you don't want to get air bubbles so I mean I think I don't know TR me a mon I think that's good if you want to double check them real quick it looks pretty doesn't it that looks good the gloss black looks so good Nicole just came out cuz she was wondering what we were still doing you can come out
