**The Car Update: A Behind-the-Scenes Look**
As I sit down to write this article, I'm excited to share with you the latest updates on my car's transformation. It's been a while since I've posted about the project, and there's been a lot of progress made recently.
Firstly, I want to thank Alberto for taking care of the car while I was busy with finals and other commitments. He's been doing an amazing job, and I'm grateful to have him on board. One of the things he's been working on is the motor itself. As you can see in the video, it's been pulled apart, and we're currently replacing the cylinder head. Alberto mentions that this metal piece wore out quickly, suggesting that there might be a rubber component that needs to be replaced.
The motor update is just one part of the many projects we're working on simultaneously. We've also got a big turbocharger for the GTX 2863 engine, which will increase power output significantly. Another exciting addition is the new injector setup, which will enhance fuel efficiency and performance. The hydro system has been installed, along with dual Z32 rears that Alberto mentions are custom fabricated.
Speaking of Alberto, he's been busy welding a custom-braked e-brake for the car. This feature is going to be a game-changer for the ride, and I'm excited to see how it turns out. The CTSV four-piston calipers are another highlight, as they're huge and will provide excellent stopping power.
**Formula Drift Atlanta**
Alberto's also been preparing for Formula Drift Atlanta by getting the car ready to go. This means that we've got a wideband gauge, a boost controller, and a boost gauge installed in the car. These features are crucial for optimizing engine performance and ensuring safe competition.
As I'm writing this, Alberto warns me about the loud welding noise coming from his workshop. He jokes that it's going to be the loudest welding he's ever heard, but I can imagine it's still going to be an impressive sound. Meanwhile, Roberto has given me a personalized touch by customizing my Isis manifold with the lettering.
**Rebuilding the Transmission**
Alberto mentions that rebuilding the transmission is actually harder than working on the motor itself. This task requires great care and attention to detail, as any mistakes can lead to costly repairs or even render the car unusable. I'm impressed by Alberto's skill level and confidence in his work.
As we near the end of our project, I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved – from Alberto for taking on this massive task to Nicole for bringing me a special birthday gift (a new set of Z32 rears). The end result is going to be worth all the hard work and dedication that's gone into it.
**The Future Plans**
With everything in place, we're now ready to take my car to Dino Tuning on Monday to get it tuned up. The goal is to reach 300 horsepower, which I'm excited about. With cookie headlights installed on my S13, the car is starting to look almost new again.
As for me, I have an exam tomorrow, but don't worry – the car's in good hands with Alberto. He'll be finishing off any remaining work and getting everything ready for us to take it into tune soon.
**The Progress So Far**
In recent weeks, we've made significant progress on various fronts. The rack was cleaned up and pulled apart, allowing us to start working on other components like the caliper and rotor. We had a hard time getting this loose, but with patience and persistence, Alberto finally managed to get it out.
Next, Alberto installed stainless steel brake lines, which will provide better pedal feedback and durability. He struggled to find the perfect fit for the new line, but eventually got it right after four attempts. The stainless brake line installation is one of those features that'll make a big difference in the car's overall performance.
To finish off this section, I want to show you guys how Alberto cleaned up the new Z32 rears that Nicole gifted me for my birthday. They look fantastic and will match perfectly with the freshly rebuilt ones.
Finally, it's time to leave the shop for now, but not before mentioning one last detail – a genuine Isis manifold that Roberto gave me as a personalized touch. It's going to be installed soon, and I'm excited about how it'll turn out.
The car is coming along well, and with Alberto at the helm, I have no doubt that we'll get everything done on time. Bring on Monday!
