The Thrill of Drag Racing: A Watson's Adventure

I'm gonna have the traction on actually because it's slippery and I'm gonna hold it on the handbrake build the revs then release the clutch let's see what I can do actually wait wait wait wait I just need to channel the spirit of the meisters of the Nurburgring come on come on right do it three two one go manage up how are you more on getting absolutely slayed maybe not ah gosh the meisters didn't help all that much oh don't think I'm gonna do any better it is what it is so then what exactly happened well the gi Yaris came first completing the standing quarter mile in 13.6 seconds meanwhile the Yaris GRMN took 14.7 seconds okay now we're going to have a rolling race from 30 miles an hour in second gear I'm gonna count it in I'm gonna decide I'm gonna hold this actually okay three two one go god that took off much quicker than I thought it would and now it's going yeah it's just destroying me well you won that you back off now that's right you just drive it off into the abyss the pickup on yours was really quite quick I thought they'd be like turbo lag and I'd get an advantage because I've got a supercharger so it'd just be on it but that just took off didn't it yeah the revs seemed quite high in second gear and 30 in this so it was it was like lurching ready to go it there was no lag at all another rolling race this time though from 50 miles an hour and in third gear are you ready three two one go oh I was closer then but that was going he's going 100 miles an hour and he's gone right that's enough whoa oh scrubbing under brakes oh there's another runway couldn't see because of the fog wasn't so bad that time i kicked it with you for the first three millimeters yeah so as I thought this time in third gear the revs were a little lower at 50 than it was second gear during 30 but once it picked up it was just oh this car is good I like it yeah I really like that engine as well this one's really fizzy this engine is fizzier I think than that one and a bit smoother because it's a four cylinder but that thing just has so much punch doesn't it yeah it just rips but it actually feels more like a supercharger than than it actually is it's really smooth and just it pulls all the way through each gear it's lovely right now

1135 kilos to be precise front-wheel drive only it's got a 6-speed manual gearbox does have a limited slip differential to help put its power down what is new 26 thousand pounds that gi yaris is a bit more expensive so that one's got the circuit pack on it which you absolutely need if you buy a yaris gr without a circuit pack you are certifiable adds a limited slip diff to the front and the back and of course you've got the standard fit all-wheel drive system on it six-speed manual gearbox yet again but it's only got a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine with just three cylinders this has four cylinders still it pumps out 261 horsepower and 360 newton meters of torque it's a bit heavier than this car due to that four-wheel drive system 1280 kilos it's probably gonna win off the line isn't
