In Depth Guide to the Reolink Duo 2 Outdoor Security Camera

The Real Link Duo 2 Camera: A Comprehensive Review

Let's go back into the event tap download and now you can see down here at the bottom it's showing clear, so we can then tap download and it's going to download that clear resolution. And let's go ahead and take a look at that and see the difference and zooming in here you can see the clear offers a lot more clarity and some of those hard to read spots now sometimes with the clear it does take a little bit longer to load but it's great that you now have that really high quality.

My favorite part about this is the teenagers across the street coming over to check out how nice he was able to mow the lawn. Really cool to get the time lapse and I love how if you go here into the settings and then you go to the time lapse it could be a little easier to get to but just love that it's there when you go to create new time lapse you have so many different options now.

These are recommended options and then you can customize every one of these. So if I wanted to do construction I can come in here I can change the settings I can have it start now I can have it start at a later date I could choose how long I want this to go so here you can have it do more than a full year time lapse. I don't know if I'm going to wait a year to figure out if my time lapse worked or not but you do have that option.

Then down here you can choose the daily capture so if you want it to capture certain times of the day you can set the interval. So once every 50 minutes you can set every second every minute here it's saying what kind of things you would want for types of events so construction every 50 minutes clouds every 10 seconds. So cool that you can break it down and then here you could have it be a photo so it is saving every single photo or you could have it be a video where it's then going to compile it once it's done.

So if I want to go and download that time lapse right here I have the option to view the last time lapse I did. I'm going to Tap Play and is what it's going to do it's going to Cache that onto my phone now. I've used time lapse features on other cameras and sometimes it cancels during the caching where this has never had that problem so it's great to see how quick this is able to Cache.

Some of these time lapses can be pretty long mine aren't too long but it's able to Cache just like that. And then it lets you view the video and up here I have the full option to save that video right to my phone. So let's check that out and so here is the time lapse video. I think this was once every 10 seconds and you can just see how quick everyone is moving so you would want to do less than that if you want to see exactly what's happening throughout the day.

But then this one was a few hours long ended up being 23 seconds long so I love that time-lapse feature it's so nice that this is built in to the duo too. And if we go back here you can see that we have currently used 53 gigabytes of the 119 gigabyte SD card after using this for a week so you can expect two full weeks of data on that big of an SD card.

And if we wanted a bigger SD card you could fit a lot more and then again if it runs out of space it's going to erase the oldest data first and then other things that you've specified not to delete like time lapses it's not going to be written those when it does run out of space so I like that you have all of those options there.

So overall I'm extremely impressed with the real link Duo 2 camera now. I love having this Poe it's worked really really well if you want to get this wi-fi you have that option as well and I just can't believe how quick and snappy this is it's so great of how wide it is I think I should have planned a little bit better for where my ethernet cables were going to be outside because I could have put one right in the middle of the house put one of these out and I could see the entire yard no problem now at the very edge kind of gets a little hard to see but I think this is going to be the perfect camera to keep track of what is going and coming from the house.

So if you have any further questions about this camera please let me know down in the comments below and I'll leave a link down in the description as well thank you so much for watching we'll see on the next one

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: endo increasing camera subscription prices have you down let me introduce you to the Rio link Duo 2 a 4K 180 degree camera that's just going to be perfect for outside let's get started now this is the poe version but it also comes in a Wi-Fi version it has an 8 megapixel camera which leads to 4K video camera as well as some lights night vision and then a night colored sensor the real link app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and here we have the camera there you go that is the beefiest camera I've ever had here so you do have an option to mount it from the top or the bottom and then right here you have a micro SD card slot now this is really cool you can actually use micro SD card slot you can also use a real link NVR so it can record and back up everything to there or you can set this up with FTP so so many ways in which you can use this and then here on this cable it does have the power right there and then you also have Poe with this little weather adapter and then here there is some weather shielding as well and here we have a cat cable as well as the mount some screws and a screwdriver that's kind of nice as well as a quick start guide a sticker a mounting guide and some other tips and because this is the poe version it does not come with a power adapter I will just need to plug the ethernet into here and then have that plug into my Poe switch that I have in my network room before we install this let's go ahead and install our micro SD card so here we're going to use the included screwdriver and then we're just going to sit it like this and click it into place there we go and put the cover back on now here on the front you do have the light sensor and then the microphone right there and the speaker is down here on the bottom on the back and as for mounting here you can mount it a few different ways you can mount it from the top or the bottom again but you could mount it from a wall so this could be attached to the wall like that or you can hang it and this is what we will probably be doing out there today so now let's go ahead and get it installed outside and then we're going to come back in go through the setup process and see what this is really capable of now once I figured out the mount this is pretty easy I then put the weatherproof case over the Ethernet plug stuff that all back in got it set up and then I realized the camera was positioned way too high now I ended up taking off the mount flipping it 180 degrees this way it allowed me to position the camera much lower so I could see my entire yard and that worked much better I also could have moved this onto the wall I was worried about this just being screwed the metal but actually with some high winds it didn't move too much so I think it's in a good spot and then we're going to plug the ethernet cable on the other end into the poe switch plug it in power success next we'll head into the real link app I've already created my account and verified it through my email and as soon as we did that it looks like my device has already connected to the internet and here it has found the device now if your device does not show up you could go into the ad here you can scan the QR code or tap Lan to search for any available devices connected over the ethernet but here it's already found it so we're going to tap on the settings to initialize the device and now we're going to go ahead and create a password for the camera next we need to name the device let's call this driveway camera and we have finished the setup it's then asking if you want to download a QR code where you could share it so others can access the camera and we're going to go ahead and tap finish so as soon as we tap on here you can see just how wide this is so I'm actually going to head out and go and reposition it now that I can see it to put it in the perfect spot now that we have it fully installed let's check out what we can do in the app so here on the main page of the app it's showing the cameras if you had multiple cameras it's showing up here if I tap on the camera it's then going to go to a live feed and give me other controls that I have and here we have the view and how this is pretty wide oh look right there it's showing some motion notifications as well as a person detection so that's really nice that it's right there now this is a full 180 degree view my rain gutter is in the way but it also is 60 degrees top and bottom would be nice if that was a little more tall but it's great that we have so much info in the camera right here now if I want to tilt my phone this way I can then see the full view of the camera and here I can zoom in and see all of that beautiful info Nation just like that up there at the top we have date and time and even the day cool and then here you have Rio link and down at the bottom you have the camera you are looking at as well as the different types of detection up there if you tap on the screen here we could pause the video we have the option to take a picture we can then record what we are seeing so I just tap the record there it will begin recording so here we have the option to change it from low to high quality but loading this for a little bit it did take some time so we'll see if we can get it to work and right now I'm not getting that to work so I'll have to try that later then over here you have the option to talk through the camera and then I'll need to agree to permissions and then here I can tap on the microphone at the top right to hear them and then I do need to enable so that it can do audio recording so it's going to take me to that setting where they where I can then enable that so there we can hear what is going on outside pretty crisp video and they're pretty far away so that's really great we'll do some further testing there now we're going to tap this to go back to the main screen and now let's tap the talk button to try out the speaker and microphone hey how's it going out there so I did hear some feedback from the speaker on the camera that usually means the camera is pretty loud let's test it out outside and this is how the real the real Duo 2 sound from outside there's quite a bit of background noise going on it's pretty windy out here I'm pretty close and talking directly to the camera but if we start walking away from the camera and going this way um I of course would go all the way over here all right now we're going towards the camera getting a bit closer and so you should be able to hear me pretty clear when I'm really close here and as I get further away I bet it sounds a bit more muffled and then as you go this way all right that is the audio test from out here let's go inside and listen from the other end all right this is testing the speaker on the real link Duo 2. all right sure you can hear the voice what and over here on the side we have the earphone noise list so if you don't want it to come through the speaker here I have the option to make it so it's a little bit quieter when I am listening to what is out there and then when I have tap to talk enabled I do have the option over here to change the volume now we're going to tap this to go back to the main screen so we then have all those same options right here on the bottom at the top we have the option to do the alarm so if I tap the alarm this is what that sounds like and then if I want to turn on the spotlights I can just tap on the little flashlight right there and that turns on the light let's look at what that looks like at night so how close do I need to be for it to go off oh interesting now I had just walked past on the sidewalk it didn't turn on the light and as soon as I came closer it did you can adjust those settings in the app and then it brightened up the whole driveway and grass area here and then when it turns off it looks like that and then down here at the bottom again I have the talk button and I can go to playback so if we go to playback right now it's showing all the different things that it has seen here it's showing us that we can go to a specific time on the timeline we can see the different videos that have been recorded and then we can drag for the video progress so here you can already see that it has been recording quite a bit so there it recorded for five minutes here we have a 30 seconds and so there I have my playback timeline here I have my videos and then I can go on this to kind of see a more full view so that's a full day's view if I want to go to a certain time of the day I can then quickly see that now when we're on a video up here at the top we have the options to change the speed so if we want to go to slow motion if we want to speed it up and watch it you have those options up here so I really like that I've never seen that on any of the other cameras I've used then we have the option to download the clip right there and instead of downloading the full clip you can go to what you want to download and it's going to download up to a 120 seconds so I can bring this down to make it a little smaller or we can go further and then tap download right there and there it has downloaded right to the phone so then here we have a channel selection so if I had different cameras we could choose what cameras to view at once but here I only have the driveway camera so next we have the gear icon where it's going to take us into the further settings of the camera so right here it's showing that we have used four gig of the 120 gigabyte SD card that I've used and it is powered by power over ethernet if I tap on the camera here it's giving me some more info about the device name I can adjust that I can see the storage available I can see some Network information and then other build and firmware information so that's all down there and here's the option to update it looks like it is most up to date then we have display so we can actually adjust a ton of different things about the display if you're having any issues you can change the clear resolution so that's the full 4K or the fluent resolution so here under clear I was having some issues if I go to clear I could adjust the resolution the higher resolution you have chosen the clear other videos will be so I could go down to a slightly lower resolution and see if that's going to make an impact I can also adjust the frame rate looks like it goes up to 20 frames per second and then here I have the max bit rate so I can adjust that too to see if I can get the clear to work then here we have some options to change to anti-flicker here we can do a day and night mode we can do black and white or we can do the color so let's test that out here's black and white and then when I get close the spotlight turns on it goes to color and then you can see once the light turns off and then switches back to the black and white now the spotlight will stay on for 30 seconds and then it will turn off so pretty Dart without the night vision black and white on now here we are doing the color and you can see that it looks pretty good still not as bright as some other night vision colors that I've seen But then once the spotlight turns on then you can see it brightens up and then again turns off after 30 seconds so here I don't have any of my own lights on for my house there's just some lights on in the neighborhood so even if you do have a little porch light on it's definitely going to be a lot brighter and then you can choose where that camera name is going to be you can even hide the camera name you can also hide the watermark so if you don't want real link on there you can turn that off and a privacy mask so here if you don't want it to record certain areas so maybe I don't want it to have the neighbor's yard in here or whatever I could go in and choose that so all I need to do is drag over what I don't want to have detected and then it's not going to even show me what's in that area so that's kind of nice to have then we have some Advanced features down here where we can adjust the threshold so if it's too light or too dark you can go in here and adjust that let's make it just a tiny bit lighter see how that looks and then you can do image stitching so if it's not lining the two cameras up properly you can go through and Stitch it but everything looks great to me and then here we can adjust some brightness and shadows so we can change the color day mode we can turn that on and off and then you have more options there black and white you can turn that on and off or the colored night mode you can turn that on and off so lots of features to get this looking exactly the way that you want next we have audio so if you want to record what is being heard you have that and then here we can adjust the alarm and speaker volume the test I did on the speaker was set at full volume and we can test it right there then we have the light so we have infrared lights we can have that automatically go on and off or we can have it stay off and then here we have Spotlight so you can adjust how bright the spotlight is and when that's going to turn off so you can keep the spotlight off you could have night mode where when it detects these certain items it's going to turn on so we're just going to keep that on for now and then you have timer mode so you could have it turn on for a certain time of day so here I could have it all night long it turns on or whatever I want it to be so we're gonna just keep it on night smart mode so here under alarm settings I have detection alarm so this is where I can choose what area of the camera is going to produce the alarm so if I go under detection Zone I have the option to paint what those areas might be so here I could simply paint this little walkway right here I can then erase if I need to I can paint all so if I want the whole thing to be an area I can do that and then I also have the option to go in any Race part that I wouldn't want alarm for so it's nice that you have a lot of functions there and then I can erase all if I want so here I can choose how sensitive I want it to be so we can do high medium so when I was at high it worked pretty well it didn't get into the sidewalk but a little further back it was able to detect so I'm going to even go a little bit closer into medium save there then we have Smart detection and so here you can set the detection per person vehicle or pet so if you want less detection on a pet you can do all of that and here if we bring it down then you have alarm DeLay So maybe it detects a person but you don't want it to go off for a little while maybe it's just a person walking through real quick won't detect the alarm if you add a few seconds but if they're there for longer than eight seconds then it is going to sound that alarm and then again you have the object size so you person you can do person vehicle or pet so if an object is smaller than this it's not going to trigger the arm so I don't think a person would be able to trigger the alarm so if you don't want that there you go you have those options then under the siren you also have the option to adjust the siren sound so in here I can go to Custom Sounds so here I have the option to record my own custom sound hey you kids get off the lawn is playing outside and then I can apply it and that is now my new default sound and then we can also change that again if we want to and whenever somebody goes into that zone it would then sound the alarm you can change the sensitivity here we can adjust the alarm DeLay So alarm will be triggered when a detection object stays in detection Zone longer than set time so if a person is walking up and staying in my driveway when I don't want them there then I could have it automatically sound the alarm after they've been there for so long and then here we can adjust the object size so if we want a big object so if we only want bigger objects to alarm we can do that or if we want to have it smaller objects so you can really customize the object size there so right now we have camera recording on so it is currently recording everything we can set a schedule for when we want that to be on as well as the timer so customize your schedule for continuous recording during the enabled time frames your camera will record non-stop so it's already recording everything and then here we can post motion record duration so after the motion is detected how much longer do you want it to keep recording we have 15 seconds set you can go up to a minute and then once it fills up the entire SD card what do I want to have happen right now it's set to overwrite recording so if I missed saving something it's now gone but I do like this so that it never runs out of space and you're always going to be able to go back the last few days or even a week to be able to see all of that info without a subscription pretty amazing right so then we can go down here we have different potion notifications so if I want to be notified of whenever somebody comes into the camera I can turn on those push notifications and here we can have an interval so how long before the next one is sent to me and then we can set up a schedule as well as detection type so if I want it to only notify me when there's a person I can do that a pet whatever you have all of those detection options in the schedule but I'm not going to do that right now so here's where you can set up FTP you can again adjust the schedule alarm timer all that and here we have the FTP settings so if you want to do this go for it I don't know how to do that and if you want to share this camera with other family members or other co-workers here you have a QR code to be able to do that oh sweet we can do time lapse so here with time lapse time lapse feature enables you to capture hour long or even day-long events like Sunrise blooming and the work of building Etc into minute long videos or photo albums oh sweet I love having a time lapse on the camera so cool so here you can do event people or traffic moving clouds sunrise sunset construction blooming customized so we're going to go ahead and do the sunset tonight so it's asking for permission for my location to know when the sunset is so not really a great camera view for the sunset but it would be nice just to see what happens during that time so I'm going to go ahead and hit start and do that note on the color switch when day breaks or night falls capture may switch between color and black and white to capture in one color mode only you may need to go to the camera live view three dot menu day and night choose to Preferred mode okay so that is now set it's going to go for one hour and record that and here is part of that time lapse it did a great job of capturing the mood of the sun going down foreign you have an option to overwrite Time Lapse files but that's nice that if you do make a time lapse you can have it not be overwritten by the other recordings that it will record onto the SD card and here we have advanced where we can adjust the user and password and then we can adjust the date and time if we need to so right now it's the wrong time zone we're going to synchronize it to our time perfect so those are all the camera settings that you get then if we go to the settings here we have a few more things so we have that channel selection then we can choose day and night which is where we can adjust from an auto we can go to black and white or we can choose the color night vision so it's nice that's kind of just right here then we have the immersion mode where it then goes to just the full camera view and then we can do picture and picture so if you want to browse your phone while you're looking at the camera you have that right here and we can move it around we can increase the size and everything so it's really nice that we have just so many settings there let's actually go back here tap on this go to settings and then we have the option to allow for picture-in-picture or not now next I want to set this up where we can view the camera on our Google display so what we're going to do is head to the cloud tap on smart home here and then I need to enable the driveway camera to be viewed by other smart devices so we have enabled that now and then I'm going to head into the Google home app to be able to connect it to the app here so we're going to head to devices tap add then we're going to select works with Google and search Rio link and then we're going to continue and sign into our account so then we're going to tap allow and then we're going to head back to devices if we scroll all the way down to the bottom here under the linked to you section we should see a driveway camera all right here we have a funny looking camera name so here if we tap on this weird named camera let's see if that's it we can tap the settings right now and see that that is the real link smart camera so let's go ahead tap settings and we're going to then add it to the home and then we're going to give it a name all right let's see if it will load here on the phone and there you go it loaded right up and you can hear from the camera can't talk through it but I can change the volume here on the phone itself so now that's moved into the home so I can view it on my Nest hub show me the driveway camera all right streaming the driveway camera on kitchen display all right trying it right now and there we go we can see that full 180 degrees right here on the camera looks like there's no zoom in or anything you can pause it but it's great that we have this live view and this should stay on for quite a while I know other smart displays tend to turn off after about 10 minutes but we're just going to leave this and see how long it lasts and this has now been playing for more than 10 minutes and it looks like it's staying on screen so that's pretty good news let's go ahead and close that all right I guess we'll try using the other assistant as well we're gonna head into the Alexa app and we're gonna head down to the more and we're gonna go to skills and games and search for a real link and here we are going to enable to use and Link our real Link account and here we have the new device it of course does not have a name so we're going to call it driveway camera show me the driveway camera all right to take some time but there it has loaded up the real link Duo 2. so we're gonna let this sit for a minute usually I only see cameras on Echo devices for about 10 minutes it's definitely been longer than 10 minutes and this is still there so that's pretty cool not sure how long it would actually stay but good to know you can have it last a lot longer I've now been using the real link Duo 2 for a week and I am extremely impressed everything has just been very Snappy there's tons of features and it didn't cost any subscription let's go ahead and head right into the real link app and you can see how great this is able to work I haven't opened this app all day long so I'm going to scroll over tap on real link it's going to jump right into the app and there it's loading up the live stream instantly that's much faster than many of the other cameras I have load up so here you can see that live view some of the things I missed showing at the beginning is if we go to the playback here you can actually sort by playback on what was seen in the screen so down here at the bottom when we scroll through our playback you can tap right here and see the different ways in which you can search they're here if you only want to see person detected there you can do that if you want to see a vehicle detected you could choose pets looks like we got a few coming through today and some just overall motion you can do that as well so here you can see all these different events let's go ahead and load up a few of them so let's go to Just so let's just go ahead and go through an event there you can see it's motion and a person detection so now it's going to play through that event and then you can watch and see what is happening there I am out edging the lawn foreign nice crisp clear video if I want to download it we can tap download and then you can even go through and select the 113 seconds of video that you really want and you can tap download right here and watching this on screen you can see how great of quality this is now this is the fluent quality so this is where it's kind of lower resolution but let's go ahead and if we go back here and tap on the low and go to clear now it's going to load that full 4K quality so now that we have that let's go back into the event tap download and now you can see down here at the bottom it's showing clear so we can then tap download and it's going to download that clear resolution and let's go ahead and take a look at that and see the difference and zooming in here you can see the clear offers a lot more clarity and some of those hard to read spots now sometimes with the clear it does take a little bit longer to load but it's great that you now have that really high quality so let's check out the time lapse that I recorded here you can see my little robot mower out there mowing the lawn you can see the pattern he goes my favorite part about this is the teenagers across the street coming over to check out how nice he was able to mow the lawn so really cool to get the time lapse and I love how if you go here into the settings and then you go to the time lapse it could be a little easier to get to but just love that it's there when you go to create new time lapse you have so many different options now these are recommended options and then you can customize every one of these so if I wanted to do con construction I can come in here I can change the settings I can have it start now I can have it start at a later date I could choose how long I want this to go so here you can have it do more than a full year time lapse I don't know if I'm going to wait a year to figure out if my time lapse worked or not but you do have that option then down here you can choose the daily capture so if you want it to capture certain times of the day you can set the interval so once every 50 minutes you can set every second every minute here it's saying what kind of things you would want for types of events so construction every 50 minutes clouds every 10 seconds so cool that you can break it down and then here you could have it be a photo so it is saving every single photo or you could have it be a video where it's then going to compile it once it's done so if I want to go and download that time lapse right here I have the option to view the last time lapse I did I'm going to Tap Play and is what it's going to do it's going to Cache that onto my phone now I've used time lapse features on other cameras and sometimes it cancels during the caching where this has never had that problem so it's great to see how quick this is able to Cache some of these time lapses can be pretty long mine aren't too long but it's able to Cache just like that and then it lets you view the video and up here I have the full option to save that video right to my phone so let's check that out and so here is the time lapse video I think this was once every 10 seconds and you can just see how quick everyone is moving so you would want to do less than that if you want to see exactly what's happening throughout the day but then this one was a few hours long ended up being 23 seconds long so I love that time-lapse future it's so nice that this is built in to the duo too and if we go back here you can see that we have currently used 53 gigabytes of the 119 gigabyte SD card after using this for a week so you can expect two full weeks of data on that big of an SD card and if we wanted a bigger SD card you could fit a lot more and then again if it runs out of space it's going to erase the oldest data first and then other things that you've specified not to delete like time lapses it's not going to be b or writing those when it does run out of space so I like that you have all of those options there so overall I'm extremely impressed with the real link Duo 2 camera now I love having this Poe it's worked really really well if you want to get this wi-fi you have that option as well and I just can't believe how quick and snappy this is it's so great of how wide it is I think I should have planned a little bit better for where my ethernet cables were going to be outside because I could have put one right in the middle of the house put one of these out and I could see the entire yard no problem now at the very edge kind of gets a little hard to see but I think this is going to be the perfect camera to keep track of what is going and coming from the house so if you have any further questions about this camera please let me know down in the comments below and I'll leave a link down in the description as well thank you so much for watching we'll see on the next onedo increasing camera subscription prices have you down let me introduce you to the Rio link Duo 2 a 4K 180 degree camera that's just going to be perfect for outside let's get started now this is the poe version but it also comes in a Wi-Fi version it has an 8 megapixel camera which leads to 4K video camera as well as some lights night vision and then a night colored sensor the real link app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and here we have the camera there you go that is the beefiest camera I've ever had here so you do have an option to mount it from the top or the bottom and then right here you have a micro SD card slot now this is really cool you can actually use micro SD card slot you can also use a real link NVR so it can record and back up everything to there or you can set this up with FTP so so many ways in which you can use this and then here on this cable it does have the power right there and then you also have Poe with this little weather adapter and then here there is some weather shielding as well and here we have a cat cable as well as the mount some screws and a screwdriver that's kind of nice as well as a quick start guide a sticker a mounting guide and some other tips and because this is the poe version it does not come with a power adapter I will just need to plug the ethernet into here and then have that plug into my Poe switch that I have in my network room before we install this let's go ahead and install our micro SD card so here we're going to use the included screwdriver and then we're just going to sit it like this and click it into place there we go and put the cover back on now here on the front you do have the light sensor and then the microphone right there and the speaker is down here on the bottom on the back and as for mounting here you can mount it a few different ways you can mount it from the top or the bottom again but you could mount it from a wall so this could be attached to the wall like that or you can hang it and this is what we will probably be doing out there today so now let's go ahead and get it installed outside and then we're going to come back in go through the setup process and see what this is really capable of now once I figured out the mount this is pretty easy I then put the weatherproof case over the Ethernet plug stuff that all back in got it set up and then I realized the camera was positioned way too high now I ended up taking off the mount flipping it 180 degrees this way it allowed me to position the camera much lower so I could see my entire yard and that worked much better I also could have moved this onto the wall I was worried about this just being screwed the metal but actually with some high winds it didn't move too much so I think it's in a good spot and then we're going to plug the ethernet cable on the other end into the poe switch plug it in power success next we'll head into the real link app I've already created my account and verified it through my email and as soon as we did that it looks like my device has already connected to the internet and here it has found the device now if your device does not show up you could go into the ad here you can scan the QR code or tap Lan to search for any available devices connected over the ethernet but here it's already found it so we're going to tap on the settings to initialize the device and now we're going to go ahead and create a password for the camera next we need to name the device let's call this driveway camera and we have finished the setup it's then asking if you want to download a QR code where you could share it so others can access the camera and we're going to go ahead and tap finish so as soon as we tap on here you can see just how wide this is so I'm actually going to head out and go and reposition it now that I can see it to put it in the perfect spot now that we have it fully installed let's check out what we can do in the app so here on the main page of the app it's showing the cameras if you had multiple cameras it's showing up here if I tap on the camera it's then going to go to a live feed and give me other controls that I have and here we have the view and how this is pretty wide oh look right there it's showing some motion notifications as well as a person detection so that's really nice that it's right there now this is a full 180 degree view my rain gutter is in the way but it also is 60 degrees top and bottom would be nice if that was a little more tall but it's great that we have so much info in the camera right here now if I want to tilt my phone this way I can then see the full view of the camera and here I can zoom in and see all of that beautiful info Nation just like that up there at the top we have date and time and even the day cool and then here you have Rio link and down at the bottom you have the camera you are looking at as well as the different types of detection up there if you tap on the screen here we could pause the video we have the option to take a picture we can then record what we are seeing so I just tap the record there it will begin recording so here we have the option to change it from low to high quality but loading this for a little bit it did take some time so we'll see if we can get it to work and right now I'm not getting that to work so I'll have to try that later then over here you have the option to talk through the camera and then I'll need to agree to permissions and then here I can tap on the microphone at the top right to hear them and then I do need to enable so that it can do audio recording so it's going to take me to that setting where they where I can then enable that so there we can hear what is going on outside pretty crisp video and they're pretty far away so that's really great we'll do some further testing there now we're going to tap this to go back to the main screen and now let's tap the talk button to try out the speaker and microphone hey how's it going out there so I did hear some feedback from the speaker on the camera that usually means the camera is pretty loud let's test it out outside and this is how the real the real Duo 2 sound from outside there's quite a bit of background noise going on it's pretty windy out here I'm pretty close and talking directly to the camera but if we start walking away from the camera and going this way um I of course would go all the way over here all right now we're going towards the camera getting a bit closer and so you should be able to hear me pretty clear when I'm really close here and as I get further away I bet it sounds a bit more muffled and then as you go this way all right that is the audio test from out here let's go inside and listen from the other end all right this is testing the speaker on the real link Duo 2. all right sure you can hear the voice what and over here on the side we have the earphone noise list so if you don't want it to come through the speaker here I have the option to make it so it's a little bit quieter when I am listening to what is out there and then when I have tap to talk enabled I do have the option over here to change the volume now we're going to tap this to go back to the main screen so we then have all those same options right here on the bottom at the top we have the option to do the alarm so if I tap the alarm this is what that sounds like and then if I want to turn on the spotlights I can just tap on the little flashlight right there and that turns on the light let's look at what that looks like at night so how close do I need to be for it to go off oh interesting now I had just walked past on the sidewalk it didn't turn on the light and as soon as I came closer it did you can adjust those settings in the app and then it brightened up the whole driveway and grass area here and then when it turns off it looks like that and then down here at the bottom again I have the talk button and I can go to playback so if we go to playback right now it's showing all the different things that it has seen here it's showing us that we can go to a specific time on the timeline we can see the different videos that have been recorded and then we can drag for the video progress so here you can already see that it has been recording quite a bit so there it recorded for five minutes here we have a 30 seconds and so there I have my playback timeline here I have my videos and then I can go on this to kind of see a more full view so that's a full day's view if I want to go to a certain time of the day I can then quickly see that now when we're on a video up here at the top we have the options to change the speed so if we want to go to slow motion if we want to speed it up and watch it you have those options up here so I really like that I've never seen that on any of the other cameras I've used then we have the option to download the clip right there and instead of downloading the full clip you can go to what you want to download and it's going to download up to a 120 seconds so I can bring this down to make it a little smaller or we can go further and then tap download right there and there it has downloaded right to the phone so then here we have a channel selection so if I had different cameras we could choose what cameras to view at once but here I only have the driveway camera so next we have the gear icon where it's going to take us into the further settings of the camera so right here it's showing that we have used four gig of the 120 gigabyte SD card that I've used and it is powered by power over ethernet if I tap on the camera here it's giving me some more info about the device name I can adjust that I can see the storage available I can see some Network information and then other build and firmware information so that's all down there and here's the option to update it looks like it is most up to date then we have display so we can actually adjust a ton of different things about the display if you're having any issues you can change the clear resolution so that's the full 4K or the fluent resolution so here under clear I was having some issues if I go to clear I could adjust the resolution the higher resolution you have chosen the clear other videos will be so I could go down to a slightly lower resolution and see if that's going to make an impact I can also adjust the frame rate looks like it goes up to 20 frames per second and then here I have the max bit rate so I can adjust that too to see if I can get the clear to work then here we have some options to change to anti-flicker here we can do a day and night mode we can do black and white or we can do the color so let's test that out here's black and white and then when I get close the spotlight turns on it goes to color and then you can see once the light turns off and then switches back to the black and white now the spotlight will stay on for 30 seconds and then it will turn off so pretty Dart without the night vision black and white on now here we are doing the color and you can see that it looks pretty good still not as bright as some other night vision colors that I've seen But then once the spotlight turns on then you can see it brightens up and then again turns off after 30 seconds so here I don't have any of my own lights on for my house there's just some lights on in the neighborhood so even if you do have a little porch light on it's definitely going to be a lot brighter and then you can choose where that camera name is going to be you can even hide the camera name you can also hide the watermark so if you don't want real link on there you can turn that off and a privacy mask so here if you don't want it to record certain areas so maybe I don't want it to have the neighbor's yard in here or whatever I could go in and choose that so all I need to do is drag over what I don't want to have detected and then it's not going to even show me what's in that area so that's kind of nice to have then we have some Advanced features down here where we can adjust the threshold so if it's too light or too dark you can go in here and adjust that let's make it just a tiny bit lighter see how that looks and then you can do image stitching so if it's not lining the two cameras up properly you can go through and Stitch it but everything looks great to me and then here we can adjust some brightness and shadows so we can change the color day mode we can turn that on and off and then you have more options there black and white you can turn that on and off or the colored night mode you can turn that on and off so lots of features to get this looking exactly the way that you want next we have audio so if you want to record what is being heard you have that and then here we can adjust the alarm and speaker volume the test I did on the speaker was set at full volume and we can test it right there then we have the light so we have infrared lights we can have that automatically go on and off or we can have it stay off and then here we have Spotlight so you can adjust how bright the spotlight is and when that's going to turn off so you can keep the spotlight off you could have night mode where when it detects these certain items it's going to turn on so we're just going to keep that on for now and then you have timer mode so you could have it turn on for a certain time of day so here I could have it all night long it turns on or whatever I want it to be so we're gonna just keep it on night smart mode so here under alarm settings I have detection alarm so this is where I can choose what area of the camera is going to produce the alarm so if I go under detection Zone I have the option to paint what those areas might be so here I could simply paint this little walkway right here I can then erase if I need to I can paint all so if I want the whole thing to be an area I can do that and then I also have the option to go in any Race part that I wouldn't want alarm for so it's nice that you have a lot of functions there and then I can erase all if I want so here I can choose how sensitive I want it to be so we can do high medium so when I was at high it worked pretty well it didn't get into the sidewalk but a little further back it was able to detect so I'm going to even go a little bit closer into medium save there then we have Smart detection and so here you can set the detection per person vehicle or pet so if you want less detection on a pet you can do all of that and here if we bring it down then you have alarm DeLay So maybe it detects a person but you don't want it to go off for a little while maybe it's just a person walking through real quick won't detect the alarm if you add a few seconds but if they're there for longer than eight seconds then it is going to sound that alarm and then again you have the object size so you person you can do person vehicle or pet so if an object is smaller than this it's not going to trigger the arm so I don't think a person would be able to trigger the alarm so if you don't want that there you go you have those options then under the siren you also have the option to adjust the siren sound so in here I can go to Custom Sounds so here I have the option to record my own custom sound hey you kids get off the lawn is playing outside and then I can apply it and that is now my new default sound and then we can also change that again if we want to and whenever somebody goes into that zone it would then sound the alarm you can change the sensitivity here we can adjust the alarm DeLay So alarm will be triggered when a detection object stays in detection Zone longer than set time so if a person is walking up and staying in my driveway when I don't want them there then I could have it automatically sound the alarm after they've been there for so long and then here we can adjust the object size so if we want a big object so if we only want bigger objects to alarm we can do that or if we want to have it smaller objects so you can really customize the object size there so right now we have camera recording on so it is currently recording everything we can set a schedule for when we want that to be on as well as the timer so customize your schedule for continuous recording during the enabled time frames your camera will record non-stop so it's already recording everything and then here we can post motion record duration so after the motion is detected how much longer do you want it to keep recording we have 15 seconds set you can go up to a minute and then once it fills up the entire SD card what do I want to have happen right now it's set to overwrite recording so if I missed saving something it's now gone but I do like this so that it never runs out of space and you're always going to be able to go back the last few days or even a week to be able to see all of that info without a subscription pretty amazing right so then we can go down here we have different potion notifications so if I want to be notified of whenever somebody comes into the camera I can turn on those push notifications and here we can have an interval so how long before the next one is sent to me and then we can set up a schedule as well as detection type so if I want it to only notify me when there's a person I can do that a pet whatever you have all of those detection options in the schedule but I'm not going to do that right now so here's where you can set up FTP you can again adjust the schedule alarm timer all that and here we have the FTP settings so if you want to do this go for it I don't know how to do that and if you want to share this camera with other family members or other co-workers here you have a QR code to be able to do that oh sweet we can do time lapse so here with time lapse time lapse feature enables you to capture hour long or even day-long events like Sunrise blooming and the work of building Etc into minute long videos or photo albums oh sweet I love having a time lapse on the camera so cool so here you can do event people or traffic moving clouds sunrise sunset construction blooming customized so we're going to go ahead and do the sunset tonight so it's asking for permission for my location to know when the sunset is so not really a great camera view for the sunset but it would be nice just to see what happens during that time so I'm going to go ahead and hit start and do that note on the color switch when day breaks or night falls capture may switch between color and black and white to capture in one color mode only you may need to go to the camera live view three dot menu day and night choose to Preferred mode okay so that is now set it's going to go for one hour and record that and here is part of that time lapse it did a great job of capturing the mood of the sun going down foreign you have an option to overwrite Time Lapse files but that's nice that if you do make a time lapse you can have it not be overwritten by the other recordings that it will record onto the SD card and here we have advanced where we can adjust the user and password and then we can adjust the date and time if we need to so right now it's the wrong time zone we're going to synchronize it to our time perfect so those are all the camera settings that you get then if we go to the settings here we have a few more things so we have that channel selection then we can choose day and night which is where we can adjust from an auto we can go to black and white or we can choose the color night vision so it's nice that's kind of just right here then we have the immersion mode where it then goes to just the full camera view and then we can do picture and picture so if you want to browse your phone while you're looking at the camera you have that right here and we can move it around we can increase the size and everything so it's really nice that we have just so many settings there let's actually go back here tap on this go to settings and then we have the option to allow for picture-in-picture or not now next I want to set this up where we can view the camera on our Google display so what we're going to do is head to the cloud tap on smart home here and then I need to enable the driveway camera to be viewed by other smart devices so we have enabled that now and then I'm going to head into the Google home app to be able to connect it to the app here so we're going to head to devices tap add then we're going to select works with Google and search Rio link and then we're going to continue and sign into our account so then we're going to tap allow and then we're going to head back to devices if we scroll all the way down to the bottom here under the linked to you section we should see a driveway camera all right here we have a funny looking camera name so here if we tap on this weird named camera let's see if that's it we can tap the settings right now and see that that is the real link smart camera so let's go ahead tap settings and we're going to then add it to the home and then we're going to give it a name all right let's see if it will load here on the phone and there you go it loaded right up and you can hear from the camera can't talk through it but I can change the volume here on the phone itself so now that's moved into the home so I can view it on my Nest hub show me the driveway camera all right streaming the driveway camera on kitchen display all right trying it right now and there we go we can see that full 180 degrees right here on the camera looks like there's no zoom in or anything you can pause it but it's great that we have this live view and this should stay on for quite a while I know other smart displays tend to turn off after about 10 minutes but we're just going to leave this and see how long it lasts and this has now been playing for more than 10 minutes and it looks like it's staying on screen so that's pretty good news let's go ahead and close that all right I guess we'll try using the other assistant as well we're gonna head into the Alexa app and we're gonna head down to the more and we're gonna go to skills and games and search for a real link and here we are going to enable to use and Link our real Link account and here we have the new device it of course does not have a name so we're going to call it driveway camera show me the driveway camera all right to take some time but there it has loaded up the real link Duo 2. so we're gonna let this sit for a minute usually I only see cameras on Echo devices for about 10 minutes it's definitely been longer than 10 minutes and this is still there so that's pretty cool not sure how long it would actually stay but good to know you can have it last a lot longer I've now been using the real link Duo 2 for a week and I am extremely impressed everything has just been very Snappy there's tons of features and it didn't cost any subscription let's go ahead and head right into the real link app and you can see how great this is able to work I haven't opened this app all day long so I'm going to scroll over tap on real link it's going to jump right into the app and there it's loading up the live stream instantly that's much faster than many of the other cameras I have load up so here you can see that live view some of the things I missed showing at the beginning is if we go to the playback here you can actually sort by playback on what was seen in the screen so down here at the bottom when we scroll through our playback you can tap right here and see the different ways in which you can search they're here if you only want to see person detected there you can do that if you want to see a vehicle detected you could choose pets looks like we got a few coming through today and some just overall motion you can do that as well so here you can see all these different events let's go ahead and load up a few of them so let's go to Just so let's just go ahead and go through an event there you can see it's motion and a person detection so now it's going to play through that event and then you can watch and see what is happening there I am out edging the lawn foreign nice crisp clear video if I want to download it we can tap download and then you can even go through and select the 113 seconds of video that you really want and you can tap download right here and watching this on screen you can see how great of quality this is now this is the fluent quality so this is where it's kind of lower resolution but let's go ahead and if we go back here and tap on the low and go to clear now it's going to load that full 4K quality so now that we have that let's go back into the event tap download and now you can see down here at the bottom it's showing clear so we can then tap download and it's going to download that clear resolution and let's go ahead and take a look at that and see the difference and zooming in here you can see the clear offers a lot more clarity and some of those hard to read spots now sometimes with the clear it does take a little bit longer to load but it's great that you now have that really high quality so let's check out the time lapse that I recorded here you can see my little robot mower out there mowing the lawn you can see the pattern he goes my favorite part about this is the teenagers across the street coming over to check out how nice he was able to mow the lawn so really cool to get the time lapse and I love how if you go here into the settings and then you go to the time lapse it could be a little easier to get to but just love that it's there when you go to create new time lapse you have so many different options now these are recommended options and then you can customize every one of these so if I wanted to do con construction I can come in here I can change the settings I can have it start now I can have it start at a later date I could choose how long I want this to go so here you can have it do more than a full year time lapse I don't know if I'm going to wait a year to figure out if my time lapse worked or not but you do have that option then down here you can choose the daily capture so if you want it to capture certain times of the day you can set the interval so once every 50 minutes you can set every second every minute here it's saying what kind of things you would want for types of events so construction every 50 minutes clouds every 10 seconds so cool that you can break it down and then here you could have it be a photo so it is saving every single photo or you could have it be a video where it's then going to compile it once it's done so if I want to go and download that time lapse right here I have the option to view the last time lapse I did I'm going to Tap Play and is what it's going to do it's going to Cache that onto my phone now I've used time lapse features on other cameras and sometimes it cancels during the caching where this has never had that problem so it's great to see how quick this is able to Cache some of these time lapses can be pretty long mine aren't too long but it's able to Cache just like that and then it lets you view the video and up here I have the full option to save that video right to my phone so let's check that out and so here is the time lapse video I think this was once every 10 seconds and you can just see how quick everyone is moving so you would want to do less than that if you want to see exactly what's happening throughout the day but then this one was a few hours long ended up being 23 seconds long so I love that time-lapse future it's so nice that this is built in to the duo too and if we go back here you can see that we have currently used 53 gigabytes of the 119 gigabyte SD card after using this for a week so you can expect two full weeks of data on that big of an SD card and if we wanted a bigger SD card you could fit a lot more and then again if it runs out of space it's going to erase the oldest data first and then other things that you've specified not to delete like time lapses it's not going to be b or writing those when it does run out of space so I like that you have all of those options there so overall I'm extremely impressed with the real link Duo 2 camera now I love having this Poe it's worked really really well if you want to get this wi-fi you have that option as well and I just can't believe how quick and snappy this is it's so great of how wide it is I think I should have planned a little bit better for where my ethernet cables were going to be outside because I could have put one right in the middle of the house put one of these out and I could see the entire yard no problem now at the very edge kind of gets a little hard to see but I think this is going to be the perfect camera to keep track of what is going and coming from the house so if you have any further questions about this camera please let me know down in the comments below and I'll leave a link down in the description as well thank you so much for watching we'll see on the next one\n"
