Alice in Wonderland Collection!

**My Favorite Illustrated Editions of Alice**

I really like this one and it feels really nice on the outside and I like how it really incorporates the card suits into it, making it a truly unique edition. This next one that I have is the last one with the original John Tenniel illustrations, which are definitely my favorite part about it. I'm trying to branch out and find some different illustrators, so I've ordered a few new editions by various artists, including Helen Oxenbury, who I've been looking at for inspiration.

**Exploring Different Illustrators**

I have a ton of illustrated editions in my wish list, and I'm excited to see what others love. There are many talented illustrators out there, and I'd love to hear about your favorite ones. Have you come across any beautiful or unique illustrations that caught your eye? Perhaps there's an illustrator who creates art that resonates with you, or one whose style is unlike anything you've seen before.

**The McMillan 150th Anniversary Complete Alice**

This edition is definitely one of my favorites - it's gorgeous and has red pages, which are just so beautiful. The illustrations look like watercolor, and I love how they've been carefully chosen to bring the story to life. Even the chapters in between the stories, like going through Looking Glass, are beautifully illustrated. I'm also a big fan of the Jabberwocky illustrations - they're just so cool! If you're looking for a beautiful edition of Alice Wonderland, this one is definitely worth checking out.

**Pop-Up Edition by Robert Sabuda**

And then there's this popup edition by Robert Sabuda, which is absolutely incredible. The illustrations are similar to John Tenniel's style, and the pop-ups add an extra layer of magic to the story. It's like stepping into a fantastical world where anything can happen. I love how the illustrations are carefully designed to match the original stories, and the attention to detail is just stunning.

**Puffing in Bloom Edition by Anna Bond**

For my final two editions, I have Puffing in Bloom, which features illustrations by Anna Bond. The illustrations are so cool - they're simple yet artistic, and really capture the whimsy of Alice Wonderland. Even under the cover, the book itself is a work of art, with beautiful designs that make it feel like a treasure trove. And of course, I adore the iconic Mad Tea Party illustration by Anna Bond - it's just beautifully done.

**Final Thoughts**

That concludes my tour of my favorite illustrated editions of Alice Wonderland. I hope you've enjoyed seeing some of these beautiful editions and have been inspired to find your own favorites. Remember, there are many talented illustrators out there who bring new and exciting interpretations to classic stories like Alice. If you're looking for inspiration or just want to explore the world of illustrated editions, I'd love to hear about your favorite books and artists in the comments below.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everyone it's Hy and today I'm going to be doing my Alice collection so I do want to keep this intro short and sweet because I do have quite a few books to show you today and I have a midterm tomorrow that I really need to study for but um if you guys are followers of my channel then you know that I'm obsessed with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Louis Caroll it is a story that I hold really near and dear to my heart and I clearly can't get enough of it seeing as I now have 15 copies of it and I have plans to name my daughter Alice like way way way way way in the future like this story just really sticks with me and is one that I hold near and dear to my heart so I'm going to be showing you the different copies of Alice that I have so I'm kind of going to be going from the small copies to the bigger copies I guess um so the first one is Alice and Wonderland and this is the Walt Disney little golden book and I picked this one up for myself actually and my mom thinks that she has a copy from when she was a kid which if she does I am all over that and it is mine dibs but I love this because the illustrations look just like the Disney adaptation and I think the Disney adaptation is one of my favorites the original 1950s one that is and I just love it I love the way they portrayed Alice and they kind of combined the two books for it and I just think this book is absolutely adorable and it is one that I will cherish for a very long time the next copy is this Classics unfolded Edition and and it's just the story retold in pictures so it has like um just like a list of characters here and then it's literally told like this like this has the whole story on it like back and front which I think is super cool and it's basically just um it will give you like Alice and Wonderland in 30 seconds and in five words and it's really cute I really like the illustrations and it's just a very unique way of reading the story next up is the puff and chalk edition of Alice and Wonderland I'm just going to be shortening it to Alison Wonderland cuz it's much easier than saying adventures in there but this is one of the ones um one of the first ones that I have that has the original John tennial illustrations in it most of the ones that I have have the tennial illustrations I of course can't find any right now but they have those original illustrations that um came with the original story and I love this addition I love the chalk and I love the colors on it and I love the quote on the back um how do you know I'm mad said Alice you must be or you must be said the cat or you wouldn't have come here and I just love the illustration of the little cat uh the Cheshire Cat everyone has conflicting opinions on how you say that but someone from that area of England told me that I'm saying it correctly so I'm going with that but yeah I just really love all the colors on this Edition I think it's very Alice esque next up is jabawaki and this is actually um a collection of poems by Louis Caroll jabawaki is particularly from through the looking Glass by Louis Carol and this just has all kinds of stuff like that so it's jaaak and other nonsense it has just poems it has um poems from Alice um fantasmagoria it has um through the the poems from Through the Looking Glass yeah it has sylv and Bruno as well it has all kinds of stuff um all kinds of different poems from Louis Caroll and I love his poetry I just love the nonsense of Wonderland and I think it really comes through in his poetry too and like these ones have a little moral at the end so I haven't gotten a chance to read through this book in its entirety but I am really looking forward to it and this is the Penguin Classics Edition so it's their really nice clothbound Edition next up is this pulp Classics Edition and I love this one I saw it at work and I knew I had to have it because it is just so weird and Alice and Wonderland as a whole is just really weird like Louis Carol is awesome at creating this super odd and just nonsensical universe and I think this really plays on that and it's very 60s or 7s esque um so it has actually Judy Garland on it and she's dressed like a hippie and it says this cupcake was off her head which I absolutely love and then the quote on the back is one of my favorite things so it says what has happened to little Alice taking shrooms hanging out with hookah smoking Nar duells and being dragged to court that's going to be one hell of a hangover so it's just super funny and it really makes it um not so childish I guess even though it is a children's story um but it has like green edges it's just super cool kind of psychedelic and it actually within has the original um John tenniel illustrations so it's kind of funny that it's like so odd but the inside is just like the original next up is this McMillan 150th anniversary edition McMillan is I believe the original publisher of Alice so they came out with a bunch of different 150th anniversary editions last year in 2015 cuz that was the 150th anniversary and I picked this one up um because I'm taking a class where we're reading this right now as I do every year and that was just kind of my excuse to be able to pick up a new copy of Alice but I do really like the tree that they made and um how they Incorporated the original John tennial illustrations into here so yeah I like this copy next up I have two that actually go together and that is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and through the looking glass by Louis Carol and these are both just the original puffing Classics editions um and I love the puffing Classics just original editions I love the illustrations and these ones are no exception um I got this one when I was in England and I had to get this one I wish this one came in hard cover too but it doesn't but it it um it has a lot of the illustrations from Through The Looking gloss and the original tenal ones in it but this one I just fell in love with because under the jacket it is so beautiful like first off the end papers are gorgeous but then it ALS also is just such a pretty hard cover and I just absolutely fell in love with this Edition and knew that I had to have it because it is so pretty next up is Alice's Adventures underground by Louis Carrol so this is a viim of the original manuscript so this is really really cool because it um it has some like preliminary information in it um I believe it had a picture of Alice at the beginning yep so it has a picture of Alice little who is who uh the original Alice I suppose um who uh Louis Carroll wrote the stories for um and it it's literally like in handwriting with Louis Carrol's illustrations like this is the actual original story and I just love like some of these illustrations are super creepy um I'm trying to find one in particular that I opened up to this one I really like but like some of them are just really really odd and creepy and I love how you can see how he did the most tail like just so cool and inventive and then you can see how it translated yeah this one like his illustration of Alice she looks so miserable and creepy but I do really enjoy this Edition I think it's just very interesting to see how he originally wanted the story next up is the Barnes & Noble Classics Edition um this is their Classics leather bound Edition I'm not even sure if they sell this one anymore but I'm glad I got this one before they discontinued this kind of line of them but I really love this one I like the pink and the purple and the silver and I just think it's so pretty and on the back it says I've often seen a cat without a grin but a grin without a cat it's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life and that's just a quote from here and I love the full color illustrations there's just something about adding color to the illustrations that just makes it so much more enjoyable and yeah I really enjoyed reading this one um it has both Alice and Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass in here which is pretty cool and yeah next up is Alice in Wonderland and I believe Yep this one has Through the Looking Glass in here as well and this is um what is it a young Illustrated Junior Library Edition and I just picked this one up cuz I really liked the fact that the cover had like all the kind of melding of all the illustrations from the series um the series I guess but I really liked that it had all the characters together and it just kind of makes it crazy and I think that's really fitting for the story and I like how there's a little like Humpty Dumpty on on the side on the spine but um and Dina's there which is always great but yeah I really enjoy this addition and it's super simple and it does have the same original um illustrations but it also has like little pictures at the side that will randomly be there to Mark uh what chapter it is which is kind of cool but yeah all right now getting into some bigger additions first off I have this one right here which is um Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and other collected works other classic Works rather by Louis Carol and this one just is really pink and it has giant teacup on it and I love the spine cuz it has her falling and I think it's just adorable and um I really like the fact that like the cards are really the only thing that's not black or white or pink on the cover um but yeah I really enjoy this one it has all kinds of stuff in here it has um fantasmagoria Sylvia and bruny all that stuff that I have in other additions but I have one in this one too next up is this nicker Boer Classics Edition and this actually comes in its own little box here um this is the actual book right here I'm just going to put that down but um this is the actual book and this has all kinds of different stuff it's like the last one I just showed you where it has Alice in here but all sorts of other tals as well and it has like super nice paper like really a big fan of the paper and it has um I can't find any right now but it has the original John tennial illustrations just the not colored ones yeah you can kind of see right there with the rocking horse fly um and I forget what the dragonfly is called but yeah so um I do really like this one and it feels really nice on the outside and I like how it really incorporates the card suits into it this next one that I have is the last one with the original John tennial illustrations I am trying to Branch out and find some different illustrators and I do have I think I have a couple that I've ordered that are on the way um that are by different illustrators and I have a couple actually I have more than a way more than a couple in my wish list that I'm kind of planning on getting for example Helen oxenbury is one that I've been looking at um there's another one I can't think of her name right now but I have a ton in my wish list but let me know if there are any that you love that are your favorites that have different illustrations um I've been I probably have heard of them cuz I kind of searched every single one over the course of like 2 days that was all doing but anyways um this is the last one that I have that has John tenel illustrations and this is the McMillan um 150th anniversary um complete Alice that was very diff difficult for me to say so it was difficult so struggles but I love love love this one it is so gorgeous and it just has like it has red Pages it's just such a beautiful beautiful addition and I really this is one of my favorites and I love the colored illustrations because they look like watercolor and it's just so so pretty like I really want to find a great one for you guys yeah like look at this one it is just so so beautiful and even in between the stories like going through the Looking Glass how cool is that I just I really love this addition and like I said it definitely is one of my favorites and even like look at the jabuke like I really really enjoy this one and I highly recommend it so now for the final two I have puffing in blooms edition of Alice Wonderland this one is redone with illustrations by Anna Bond and I'm sure you guys were expecting this on this list um I love this one the illustrations are so cool they're very simplistic almost but also very artistic if that makes any sense at all um and even like under the cover this book itself is just a work of art like it is absolutely gorgeous and the illustrations are incredible I really want to find a great one for you so you can see swimming in her pool of tears and then I want to find the Mad tea party because that's kind of the iconic illustration yeah her depiction of the Mad tea party is just beautiful so the illustrations throughout this one are just amazing and the text itself is really made to be an illustration and I really love this Edition and this final one is this popup Edition by Robert Suba SA sabuda and it is so cool I love the illustrations cuz they do kind of mimic um L uh not Louis Carol's John tennial and they're quite similar to that and like look at this thing it is just absolutely incredible and even in here there's a bunch of pop-ups like it is the coolest thing I have ever seen I am absolutely obsessed with it like look at her stuck in the house like there's just endless endless popups in here and I could literally sit down with this thing for hours and just love it like look at the ugly dut Duchess and you can see especially here how she really does look like the tennial illustrations and you can see like there's pop-ups in here like this thing is crazy and of course the Tea Party can't forget that and I think also the cat is in here know she was in the uh he was in the other one but still like the tea party is incredible I'll show you this one last cuz I really don't want to show you all of them um but this is obviously the end of it and it's just so like you can see the detail that went into it and it's just so beautiful and I really love this one so that is all for today's video like I thought it would it took me 20 minutes to film even though I was kind of going a little bit quickly with it but I hope you guys enjoyed like I said let me know what your favorite Illustrated editions of Alice are or of Through the Looking Glass because I am always open to checking out new illustrators like I said there are quite a few on my wish list um I might link my wish list down below if I'm kind of feeling like it or if I remember really um if you wanted to check out what ones I've been eyeing not for the purpose of you guys buying it for me but just so you can see like the different ones out there cuz there are a ton and it's hard to keep track sometimes but yeah I hope you guys enjoyed this video and I will see you guys in the next one bye\n"
