Desire HD Full Unboxing - Product tour - First Boot - Mocha Brown

What is an .in Exclusive Video Unboxing of the New HTC Desire HD?

This is B for .in and this is an .in exclusive video unboxing of the new HTC Desire HD, which is HTC's flagship Android phone. It has been announced in India but hasn't been officially made available to the public. We have this unit exclusively for our review purposes and we're going to unbox it for you guys.

Unboxing the Phone

I'm going to put this aside for the time being and take a look at everything else that's in the box. We get this accessory booklet which tells us what all accessories are available for the Desire HD, so that's nice. You also get this quick start guide, so you can take a look at it and find out what all you can do with your device when you first buy it. You also get a contact us booklet, which has toll-free numbers for all countries. You get a safety and regulatory guide, your warranty statement, some earphones, really nice quality HTC Innovation headphones, similar to the ones on the hd7. We've tested them out and they're good quality. You also get some ear tips and clip, a USB to micro USB data cable, which is USB 2.0 to micro USB on one side.

The contents of the box include the phone itself, a nice looking HTC charger with an attachment in the front, unfortunately for us, we didn't get that attachment in the box, but rest assured when you buy it, you will either get the attachment pre-installed or you will get a separate attachment which will be for the Indian plug system. That's basically everything from the box.

Let's Take a Closer Look at the Device

Wow, just look at that in front of this beautiful looking device. The Desire HD is a big 4.3-inch device. As you can see, it has a speaker grill along with some proximity sensors and some LED light indicators. We have a 4.3-inch large multi-touch capacitive display on the bottom, which is quite a big screen for a phone. We also have four touch capacitive buttons - the home key, the menu key, the back key and the search button, all along with the HTC logo.

The right-hand side of the device has nothing. The top of the device has the power button, which is also the lock and unlock button, on the left-hand side of the device. The volume rocker is located at the bottom of the device, and we have a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a micro USB port, which is used for charging and data syncing, and a small tiny hole for the microphone. We also have an 8 megapixel autofocus camera on the back of the device, a loudspeaker and dual LED flash.

The Bottom of the Device

We also have a door here that you can pull out to reveal the micro SD slot. This device comes with an 8GB Samsung Class 2 micro SD card, which means you can update it up to 32GB. You can insert your sim card here as well.

The Back of the Device

On the back of the device, we have some other things mentioned - HTC Sense is also equipped for Dolby Digital and SRS sound. That's all written on top of the back cover here. There is also a side cover which reveals the battery compartment. The battery in it is a30 mAh battery, which is the same as the hd7.

The Body of the Device

The body of the HTC Desire HD is made out of unibody aluminium, and you can see that the body stretches all around. The only plasticky bits are the doors the battery door and the bottom door for the memory card and the SIM card slot.

This is the HTC Desire HD - a big 4.3-inch device with a lot of features. We'll be testing it out for some time now, so if you have any questions, please post them in the .in forums.
