Garden Confetti Quilt Along- Video #1

Welcome to My Garden Confetti Quil Along Series!

I'm Vanessa The Crafty Gemini, and I'm excited to share my new quilt along series with you. In this series, we're going to be working with gorgeous fabrics that will take your quilting skills to the next level. Our first project is the garden confetti quilt, which is a versatile and fun design that doesn't require a lot of fabric.

For those who are new to my channel, I post weekly videos on my YouTube channel, and today's video tutorial is kicking off this exciting series. In this video, we're going to cover some essential information, including the PDF documents that you can download from the link in the description box below. This one just has the fabric requirements and the actual sewing numbers, so you know which print of my Dominicana collection you need and how much of it.

I've included three different layouts for you to choose from, each with a unique design. You'll have the option to create your own orientation for each layout, and once you've got it right, you can piece everything together to finish off the quilt top. I love that we only need to make the blocks, and then based on how we orient them, we get three totally different looking quilt designs. It's going to be so much fun!

Now, let's talk about the fabrics we're going to be using. For our fabric requirements, you'll need 1 1/4 yards of solid white and one yard of my white confetti print. These are our main background fabrics, and they make up half of every single block in an alternating design layout. The white with sprinkled confetti is a special one - it's the only two we need for each color. You'll also need 1/4 yard of all the other 15 fabrics, which include two solids and 13 prints from my Dominicana collection.

I know what you're thinking: "Vanessa, this isn't a lot of fabric!" And you're right! It's not. But trust me, it's enough to create a gorgeous quilt that will turn heads. Whether you choose the first layout, second layout, or third layout, you'll end up with a stunning result. So go ahead, gather your fabrics and materials - including a rotary cutting mat, some rulers, and any other essentials you need.

Next Friday, I'll be back to show you how to cut out some of the different units needed to create each individual quilt block. It's going to be a blast!
