Hey Everyone, It's Hay and Today is Book Miss Day Two
The task for today's Book Miss day is to pick two of your least favorite endings to a book, whether it's a trilogy, series, or whatever. I'm actually going to do three because I can't follow my own rules, but you know what? Book Miss is just about having fun and doing what you want. So, go ahead, pick four, five, or however many endings you like – it doesn't matter to me.
My First Least Favorite Ending: Born Wicked by Jessica Spottswood
The first book in the Cahill Sisters Witch Chronicles is "Born Wicked." I just didn't like how this ended, and I think it's a stupid reason. I wanted something else to happen, but it honestly frustrated me so much that I'm not going to continue with the series. I wanted everything to kind of work out in a different way, but it worked out in the opposite way, and it just wasn't happy for me.
I Know It's Probably a Stupid Reason
I know this might sound like a really stupid reason, but I'm entitled to my own opinion. And honestly, that ending didn't sit well with me at all. The series is about having fun and doing what you want, so if you can do whatever you like – pick four or five endings, it doesn't matter. But for me, this particular ending was just a disappointment.
My Next Least Favorite Ending: Boundless by Cynthia Hand
The final book in the Unearthly Trilogy is "Boundless." I just thought this book was so bad that I didn't even like it at all. I didn't like any of the things that happened in this book. There were just really stupid things that happened, and I can't even specifically say what they were because it's a spoiler. But basically, it seemed like everything was dumb to me, and I didn't understand why those things had to happen.
It Was Just So Unnecessary
I felt like the way that things were concluded in this book was just really unnecessary. It wasn't with the main character; it was with a side character, but it still didn't make sense to me. The whole experience of reading this book left me feeling unfulfilled and frustrated.
My Final Least Favorite Ending: The Darkest Minds by Alexander Bracken
The only book I'm focusing on for today's post is "The Darkest Minds." I just hated the ending of this book, and it frustrated me to no end. At first glance, it seemed like things were going to go a certain way, but as soon as they did, I was like, "Why would you do that? Why now?" It was predictable and inevitable, but there was still something frustrating about how the story unfolded.
I Did End Up Continuing with the Trilogy
However, despite my dislike of this book's ending, I ended up continuing with the trilogy and really enjoying it. Sometimes our opinions change as we continue reading a series because of new information or unexpected plot twists. But for me, "The Darkest Minds" is still one of those books that left a bad taste in my mouth.
So That's All for Day Two of Book Miss
That's all I have to say about today's post on Book Miss day two. It was short because I only had three books to talk about – Born Wicked, Boundless, and The Darkest Minds. But don't worry; it will get longer as we continue going through more numbers.
If You Like, It Will Get Longer
This one is going to get longer as we keep going on and getting into the bigger numbers because Book Miss is a pretty loose readathon. We're doing whatever we want – reading however many books we want, reading about any topic – that's all good jazz. If you like it, let me know so I can make sure to include more information about each book in future posts.
You Can Follow Me on Social Media
If you wanted to keep up with Book Miss and my readathon, the best way is to follow me on social media.
