Welcome to the Paris Motor Show 2016 on the Autocar Seat Blog, where we're located at the front entrance of the Port de Versailles expo, right outside the second booth of Seat. As you can see, there's a dramatic hint as to what's inside suspended above our heads – let's take a closer look.
Seat is fiercely proud of its Barcelona base and its Catalan heritage, which is really in evidence here at the booth. We've got the skyline of Barcelona created by Seat, and also an enormous projection of the Barcelona skyline looking down over us from afar. It's clear that SE is very much looking forward to the future and that Seat Atka is very much part of its future. The Atka Excellence was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show a few weeks ago, and it's been incredibly well reviewed so far.
The Atka Excellence has got the majority of people ordering it and wanting it – let's take a closer look at why. One thing that stands out immediately is the proud display of full LED signature headlights on this model. The styling as you can see on the side here is very bold and brave, really helping it stand out from the crowd. Let's pop inside and take a look around. We've got nice brown leather seats in here as well.
The thing that really stands out about the Atka Excellence is how much tech has been squeezed into this car – despite being named after its Catalan heritage, the tech features are very much on show. Let's start off with connectivity, shall we? Wireless charging for your phone is a great feature, who wants to mess around with wires when you can just pop your phone in and charge it up without plugging it in? Another important aspect of being connected on the go is the full link technology, which means Apple CarPlay or Android Auto can be used safely and easily in the car.
Safety and convenience are also top priorities for Seat, and the Atka Excellence delivers. We've got adaptive cruise control, which is really useful when driving in cities in traffic – and we've also got tiredness recognition to help keep you awake on long drives. Blind spot monitors are fitted to the side mirrors, and there's even a virtual pedal for the electric tailgate – meaning you can open it up without any problems at all. We've also got a top view 360° camera system which makes parking an absolute breeze, as well as park assist and self-park 2 for added convenience.
