2015 Mercedes GLA250 4Matic - Off Road And Track Review

Tracking and Off-Road Testing the 2015 Mercedes-Benz Gla 250 4matic

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz Gla 250 4matic is a premium SUV that features a 2.0 liter turbo I4 engine producing 208 horsepower. This vehicle was tested in comparison to several other models, including the Buick Encore, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Lexus NX, and Volvo V60 Cross Country.

One of the drawbacks of the Gla 250 4matic is its limited rear legroom, making it less spacious than some of its competitors. Additionally, off-road handling was found to be very stiff, with some quirks noticed in the interior. However, despite these limitations, the Gla 250 4matic was determined to be a personal favorite among those who tested it.

In terms of performance, the Gla 250 4matic boasts an impressive array of features that set it apart from its competitors. For instance, it produces peak torque at a staggering low 1250 rpm, and has the best fuel economy of the group, with an estimated 32 miles per gallon highway. Furthermore, it is one of only two vehicles in the test to feature a dual-clutch transmission, making it an attractive option for those seeking improved performance.

The Gla 250 4matic's visibility was another area that required attention. While its narrow view out could be seen as a drawback, this was largely mitigated by the inclusion of large sunroofs and comfortable leather-wrapped steering wheels. The interior itself was also found to be well-appointed, with seats featuring good cushioning and adequate storage space.

Acceleration testing revealed that the Gla 250 4matic is capable of rapid acceleration from standstill, thanks in part to its impressive gearing and powerful engine. When put through a series of parking maneuvers, including reversing and using the rear camera system, the vehicle was found to be reliable and easy to maneuver.

The Gla 250 4matic's off-road capabilities were also tested in a variety of challenging conditions. Despite initial concerns about its stiff handling, the vehicle proved itself to be capable and responsive in both dry and wet terrain. In particular, it handled well during a slalom course, thanks in part to its advanced traction control system.

However, some minor issues with vibration through the pedal were noted during braking tests, potentially due to interference from the ABS system. Nevertheless, overall, the Gla 250 4matic was found to be an excellent performer on both road and off-road, making it a compelling option for those seeking a capable and reliable SUV.

Overall, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz Gla 250 4matic is an impressive vehicle that offers a unique combination of performance, comfort, and capability. While some minor drawbacks were noted during testing, these were largely outweighed by the vehicle's many strengths, making it a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and capable SUV.

light as the buick encore creates peak torque at a staggeringly low 1250 rpm and it has the best fuel economy of the group at 32 miles per gallon highway on top of this it has 8 inches of ground clearance and it's the only vehicle in the entire event with a dual clutch transmission the handling was phenomenal in comparison to the others tested check out the video description for videos of the compared models now visibility let's talk about that first and i think the other thing to come in is it's pretty narrow view out here so you know compared to some of the other cars i've tested the visibility is definitely on the lower side the steering wheel leather wrapped very comfortable feels pretty good these seats good cushion to them checking visibility to the left you can check your blind spot pretty well and looking out the rear not too bad nice large sunroofs you've got going on here i do like the blue of this car as well good color to it we've got some extra storage in here these seem to be really small cup holders uh compared to the other ones out there so if you do have something larger i guess that's what this is for here but these seem to be really small and then you do have your glove box okay acceleration testing in the gla 250 we'll straighten out here see how this compares with the lexus nx 200 actually ramps up to high rpms very quick great acceleration from faster than usual here once we get it down to 25 actually he's handled that really well and i am breaking from 45 still under about 50 feet so excellent breaking from this as well even though i got up a little bit faster there was however a lot of vibration through the pedal that i felt from the abs interfering this thing does accelerate really well gets up to high rpm pretty fast okay we are in the mercedes gla 250 this handled really well on the track so we'll see how it does here in the dirt certainly stiff which makes it great on the track but it doesn't seem to have a problem maneuvering through this steering is good decent amount of noise coming through the cabin but overall not too bad comfortable though firm and we'll go through a deeper section here see how it does no trouble there and we'll stop here in the deep water and then see if it has any trouble moving again nope not a problem getting out there so it's certainly capable of taking you off the beaten path it can get
