How to Insure Your International Phone _GALAXY S3 & NOTE ENSQUARED

The Importance of Proper Phone Insurance: A Cautionary Tale

As a technology enthusiast and frequent user of smartphones, I recently found myself in a frustrating situation with my phone's insurance provider. My Galaxy Note, an international version, had suffered from a black clipping issue that rendered it unusable. In this article, I'll share my personal experience with the insurance provider, Securi, and offer valuable insights on how to navigate the world of phone insurance.

Peanut Boner and Jelly Sandwich Shirt: A Casual Intro

I started by showcasing my trusty peanut boner and jelly sandwich shirt, a Target purchase that still fits in kids' clothing. I proudly displayed it, exclaiming that being able to fit into children's clothes is awesome. This casual introduction set the tone for the rest of our conversation.

Securi Insurance: A Promising Start

However, my enthusiasm was short-lived, as I soon discovered that Securi insurance had some unexpected surprises in store for me. As a user of an international Galaxy Note, I assumed that their coverage would be comprehensive. Unfortunately, they revealed that they did not cover international phones, citing a lack of warranty in the United States.

A Black Clipping Issue: The Root of the Problem

I explained to Securi that my phone was suffering from a black clipping issue, which had rendered it unusable. They claimed that this was due to a manufacturing defect and offered to cancel my warranty. While I was initially frustrated by their response, I soon realized that they were not the only ones experiencing this problem.

Samsung's Response: A Welcome Relief

In an unexpected twist, Securi revealed that Samsung was responsible for providing the replacement phones used in their insurance program. They assured me that they would provide a brand-new international version of my Galaxy Note, despite the initial claims that they did not cover international phones.

Securi's Policy: A Complex Web of Warranties

As I delved deeper into Securi's policy, I discovered that it was more complex than initially meets the eye. They claimed to offer a 90-day warranty for new phones, but only if you could provide proof of purchase and demonstrate accidental damage. This raised questions about their willingness to cover international phones with manufacturing defects.

The Dark Side of Phone Insurance: A Cautionary Tale

My experience with Securi insurance was nothing short of appalling. They claimed that they did not cover international phones, despite the evidence suggesting otherwise. I learned that manufacturers often have multiple warranties in place, and it's essential to understand which one applies in a given situation.

Insider Tips for Phone Insurance: Avoid Dropping Your Phone

To avoid falling prey to phone insurance scams, here are some valuable tips:

* If you're purchasing an international phone, consider investing in separate warranty coverage.

* Always check the warranty terms and conditions before making a purchase.

* Be cautious of insurance providers that claim to cover phones with manufacturing defects.

Conclusion: A Cautionary Tale

My experience with Securi insurance served as a stark reminder of the importance of proper phone insurance. While it's essential to protect your investment, it's equally crucial to understand the intricacies of warranty coverage and avoid falling prey to scams. By being informed and vigilant, you can make better decisions about your phone insurance and enjoy peace of mind knowing that your device is protected.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys this Erica the technology nerd who likes to film stuff here today and I've got some very important pressing manners to talk about the first of which I know you guys are all jealous of my peanut boner and jelly sandwich shirt here see best friends stick together makes me awesome yeah $10.99 Target child section I can still fit in kids clothing that's awesome isn't it and I was actually carded like two years ago for a PG-13 13 movie not r r PG-13 this is very true moving on the next most important pressing matter is that I am absolutely pissed off at secur I know that in my Galaxy Note video I was telling you guys how you should be insuring your phones because they don't have a US warranty if you're going to be getting the International Version and importing it here so you kind of get a little bit screwed in that way so securing was like oh yeah yeah we totally SEC uh ensure phones that are international no no problem yeah we'll uh make sure to um get you a check because we won't be able to get that version of the phone so that you can go on Amazon and buy the phone again for yourself well yeah yeah no not uh not exactly true so I asked them last week it took them a whole week to get back to me I asked them so um there's been this black clipping issue with the Galaxy Note and I want to get another one and I'm not covered so can you guys help me cuz you are have insured me and they're like what you have an international Galaxy Note oh we don't actually cover the international Galaxy no no we don't do that and I'm like what and they check through the records like oh yeah yeah we did we did approve you we insured you that's right oh oh but uh yeah actually that is a manufact cure issue with the screen so we're going to have to cancel your warranty like what no no no no no it's something that all the Galaxy Note phones and seriously Galaxy Nexus phones are having some type of black clipping issue and they're like well sorry as per our policy we have to cancel you so they canceled my warranty so I'm like yeah I'm going to use profanity today because I'm like extremely angry and so I just was like okay now what how long has it been and uh I've had the phone for about 3 months minus 2 days now and a lot of places will only let you Ure for 30 days and won't go out uh you know over that but then I went back to N squared and I called the dude on the phone because they said that they will actually cover you for uh 90 days you can take up to 90 days since the purchase date of your brand new phone and they will cover you from then as long as you can provide proof so I call him and I say well I heard before that you got guys don't actually uh give me the original phone because I have an international version not the 18t version I was told you only get the 18t version as a replacement he's like oh no we actually get our phones through Samsung I don't know why I'm doing this we actually get the phones through Samsung you know International or wherever so we can import it for you and give that to you brand new because they don't ever give refurbished unlike htech so they said it's not a problem I don't know who you talked to before and I actually had called in again like another hour later and talk to somebody else and they said the same thing is that they do N squared will let you get a brand new replacement phone through them if it's accidental damage and they will get you the International Version and you know from wherever because they actually do get it from Samsung so you don't have to worry about that so scratch security I am so sorry you guys because I had recommended security as number one uh Insurance to go through and they're actually a complete sham you know that is actually extremely terrible it I'm really sorry so uh if you want to get away from secur which I suggest that you do they do give you back your money so really all you have to do is go on the phone to them or go on to the email and email them and say hey I'm having a manufacturer issue uh with my screen and they'll just automatically cancel your warranty because they're just like well it's an international phone there is no warranty in United States so for the first year you're not you're covered by your manufacturer warranty but since you don't have one uh too bad for you screw you cancel you so go ahead and do that but as a word of warning if you have an international phone never ever ever ever go to one of these Claim Centers or online or wherever you choose to contact them never tell them you're having a manufactur defect they would rather you lie to them and I actually have a comprehensive list of ways to make sure you get your phone covered correctly such as this is uh you can do things like uh accidental damage accidental damage I'm not saying to do this but drop your phone in the toilet that's always a good one people do that quite often putting it in their back pockets that happens uh you can put it drop it in the pool that's another good one uh my friend actually had dragged his phone behind his quad pod and had it banged up and scratched Beyond even recognition and they're like oh yeah yeah yeah we'll fix that for you dude we can't even attempt to fix that so here's a here's a brand new phone so you can do that as well or you can leave your phone on the roof of your car and uh drive off with it essentially and it'll fall off people will run over it you can pick it up later but you see none of that is good enough because this is not accidental damage you'll be doing this on purpose so I think you guys should probably just get shitfaced drunk and go somewhere like the beach bonfire party that would be perfect and if you haven't already dropped your phone in the ocean or gotten it full of sand the next thing you can do is just totally drop it into the fire pit you know it'll be completely damaged beyond all recognition it's the number one Mass Destructor is fire besides nuclear warfare but we're not getting into that so yeah don't ever mention manufacturer problems if you have a phone that's insured through you know secur or end squared or uh square trade and it is in the United States sure you can take advantage of your warranty you have your one-year warranty and they'll say oh refer to the manufacturer if you get a 2-year warranty through these Claim Centers then they'll say well the first year is covered by your manufacturer the second year is covered by an extended warranty and then we'll take care of it then so just make sure you have some type of accidental damage and don't go with security for international phones they lie they don't cover international phones because they canceled me for mentioning I was having a problem a with my note because they all have issues with black clipping and B that it was a manufacturer International problem oh my gosh I'm okay I told you I was a little upset today but I think you guys get my point here oh gosh I'm so mad\n"
