Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace SUV 2018 in-depth review _ carwow Reviews

**The Volkswagen Tiguan All Space: A Review**

As I approached the car, my initial impression was that it looked like it was powered by a huge V8 engine due to the exhaust pipes. However, as I'll reveal now with the car, this is not the case. The first thing that struck me about the Tiguan's exterior was the greasy fingerprints on the windshield. It seemed like they weren't actually leading anywhere, and I suspected that they were fake. This led me to wonder how to clean them properly without scratching the paint off the bonnet.

To take my car for a spin, I had to stick of truth and test it out. The first thing I noticed was the cool features that make up for all the quirks in the car's design. One feature that stood out was the "blue trainer" display, which marks you down for how efficiently you're driving and gives you tips on how to improve your economy. This is a great feature, especially if you want to reduce your fuel consumption. The full-motion versions of the car also get a special "off-road mode" and "snow mode", which provide more traction in tricky situations.

If you need to carry something along, the Tiguan has plenty of space for passengers or cargo. You can even fall down the front passenger seat to create a stretch limousine effect. The picnic tables that come with the Tiguan are sturdy and can support heavy loads, making them perfect for outdoor events. There's also a drinks holder on board, which is handy if you're a presenter who needs their Red Bull to keep them awake during long shoots.

One of the most interesting features of the Tiguan All Space is the ability to store items underneath the false floor. I was impressed by this feature, as it provides plenty of space for storing additional gear or equipment. The car's slightly larger body also means that you can fit a lot more in the trunk than with other vehicles.

As I got inside the car, I noticed how comfortable and spacious it is to sit in. Visibility is great all around, making it easy to get in and out of the vehicle. The steering is light and responsive, making it a joy to drive on the road. The suspension does a good job of handling bumps, but you can opt for an optional adaptive suspension that makes the ride even smoother.

The engine itself is smooth and punchy, providing plenty of power when needed. With 150 horsepower, it's perfect for everyday driving around town. However, if you're planning to tow something or drive long distances with a heavy load, the 2-liter diesel engine might struggle a bit. On the other hand, the 150 horsepower petrol engine is more than sufficient for most drivers.

One thing that did take some getting used to was the gear changes. They can feel a little notchy at times, but the shift is positive and responsive. If you prefer an automatic transmission, that's also available as an option. And if you plan on venturing off-road or driving in snowy conditions, the Tiguan has four-wheel drive as standard.

**Verdict**

So should you avoid the Tiguan All Space? Not necessarily. While it may not be the best choice for a seven-seater vehicle due to its lack of practicality, there are better options out there if you're looking for something similar. However, if you're in the market for an SUV that's comfortable, spacious, and easy to drive, the Tiguan All Space is definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is the new Volkswagen Tiguan all space and you can think of it as being like the Polish version of the normal TIG one which would be the standard iPhone so basically it's about 30 centimeters longer than the normal tick one and as a result it has seven seats you'd have to pay a premium for that of course though so the tip on all space costs from about two thousand pounds more than the normal to grown so it starts from just over 29,000 pounds but through car way you can get it from just over 26,000 pounds now if you want to see how much you can save for a new cart it's just this tick one all space click on the pop-out barrel in the top right hand corner of the screen or on the link below the video to get a car whoa calm now the only reason you'd have this car over the normal Tiguan is of course for this third row of seats and from where I'm sitting it's not all that good it's very cramped actually in fact it feels tighter in this very back row compared to that in the Skoda kodiak even though they're effectively the same car underneath the skin so yeah Headroom is really tight this seat is pushed all the way back and I've got no room for my legs this third row is definitely just for kids and only for short journeys as well now if I move the seat forward to get comfortable like if I just fold this down actually you'll see so now I've got enough me room just about enough probably what I'd have in the back of a Kia Sorento but I've had to push the seat forward have him still tight and okay some good features are you got some storage here and some stories are there and the windows were decent-sized in the very back but look if I skip through into the front out my head not much of a contortionist I might so now for me to be comfy this person in this middle row isn't gonna be comfy because my knee is a wedge of the seat in front and that's in my normal driving position and I'm a very average height at 179 centimeters hmm so yeah you are gonna want to at least like like out and then the people in the back of ground so it's not ideal now you can see that you have through loading there which is quite handy so that's a good thing that's what you get on the normal teak one and like I just showed you you can slide and you can I said there is recline the rear seats and actually if you aren't carrying people in the back and this a room here decent knee room decent Headroom if you need to carry three across the middle row it's alright this middle seat is a bit of a perch and there's this lump in the floor which does eat in two foot space but it's it's generally alright what I do like is this like you have massive windows and the window sill is actually quite low so even small kids can get a good view as well so yeah it's alright if you're not going people in the back you've also got some 12 volt socket there and the USB for charging and some climate control buttons as well now the off base being bigger than the normal Tigran has a larger boot it's about 12 to 15% but obviously not if you've got all the seats in place because then it's it's quite a small boot so oh look I can fit a large suitcase in and a Kia Sorento with all its seats in place I couldn't fit a large suitcase even though the Kia Sorento is boot capacity is slightly larger than the ticke ones with all seats in place it's it's all to do with the dimensions in the shape really though now I just fold these seat headrests down they're quite stiff give myself a Hearne you're doing that and fold these seats down there we go and you get a sort of E flat live floor now there's no lo littlest stuff over but there is a bit of a hump here because under there is the spacesaver spare wheel other than that there are a few practical features such as oh look a torch lit a torch there we go doubles as the boot light you've got various tethering hooks and places to tie nets down to we've also got 12 volts socket in there as well then if you want to fall down the middle row seats you just pull this lever and down they go go down though they don't go all the way down on their own so I'm gonna have to come bar in and smack them into place and then you get a pretty much flat low flow some complete library it's good enough now if you want more detail on this cause practical to click on the pop-up I mean the top right hand corner of the screen or on the link below the video and you'll be able to see just how easy it is to fit a child seat in this car well it's like with people in the back seats and just how much stuff you can fit in this car boot now I actually wanna continue talking about practicality here in the front because VW well they just did this thing when they seem to think about everything so the door bins are huge hold a big bottle of water very easily and they're lined with felt so that things don't rattle around in there you got some more storage in here and the cupholders they thought about those as well so for instance look presses button and they have these little rubbery so they even hold a very small energy drink securely you got some more storage here for your mobile phone it's grippy so it doesn't slide around and you've got your USB inputs there your line in and your 12 volts socket as well there's some storage up here on the dash there's some more airplane star storage up here as well but you can keep fingers in let's sunglasses and stuff and there's more storage down here yeah just by the steering wheel and even underneath my seat look I've got a little draw but anything that's a little bit disappointing is the glovebox which is merely average what's also average I see interior designer now it's all very Volkswagen so it's neat and tidy and in places it feels quality in the steering wheel's lovely but other places it doesn't feel quite so expensive and the designs a little bit bit there really it's a bit dull what's a dull though is this screen so it's beautiful big 8 inch touchscreen and you get it as standard on every single Tiguan or space version it's very easy to use the shortcut buttons the graphics are bright it just looks lovely simple clever and you get apple carplay and android auto as well so you can run your mapping through your phone if you want to but yeah the summit sat-nav that you get with it is great on this particular nav version so yeah lovely now I should point out that you can get this call with the digital drivers display this car doesn't have it as the normal dolls and it is worth the upgrade cuz it looks really slick like to feel more detail on this cause of attainment system click on the pop-out bearing the top right hand corner of the screen on the link below the video my detailed infotainment and interior review on this car so the one I've got here is the SE nav and yes the intercom but it's got loads of kit like I said it's got satellite navigation you get cruise control you get three zone climate control and this one with the 2-liter diesel engine with a hundred fifty horsepower and the four-wheel drive well it's list price is just over 33,000 pounds but I put the details of it into car Wow and I got on offer back for just under thirty thousand pounds which is more reasonable however bearing in mind of making that saving I would actually upgrade to the online version of this car because it has a sporty body kit bigger wheels nicer interior trim and it just feels more special it's kind of what you'd expect more from a Volkswagen now then it's time for the car why five annoying things about this car the halogen headlamps you get a standard on most versions of the teague-barred just look cheap and old-fashioned you know they're not really becoming of a car of this price while they get nice soft touch plush materials here on the door tops in the front in the back they are all hard and Scratchy that's box I'm cutting costs the sharing touchscreen looks absolutely epic when you buy turned on but when you turn it off it just shows up greasy fingerprints looks as though this car is powered by huge v8 engine because of these exhaust pipes even though it's a 2-liter diesel anyway as I'll reveal now with the car why stick of truth' yeah they don't lead anywhere they're fake the first time you come to clean you need to take one you're putting a lift at the windscreen wiper to clean underneath it and you'll end up scratching all the paint off your bonnet and that's because you won't know what you're supposed to do is to the ignition on then off again will press down on the windscreen wiper lever to put the winter on rubbers in the service position thankfully this car has plenty of cool features which helps make up for all this it's five the cars think blue trainer will mark you for how efficiently you are driving and it gives you tips as well on exactly what to do to improve your economy full-motion versions of the car get a special off-road mode and a snow mode give you more traction when driving on tricky surfaces if it needs to carry something along you can fall down the front passenger seat on the take one it also turns it into a stretch limousine the picnic tables you can get with the Tiguan are very sturdy look they can support the heaviest of salads or so you've got a little drinks holder there which is handy if you're a presenter who needs their Red Bull to keep them away during a long shoot you can store the cars load cover underneath the false floor look you see I promise you look got easy tada surprise surprise this new box I can take on all space fills identical to the normal 5c to take one to drive you know you don't really notice things away from the slightly bigger body it's a same which is a good thing because this take one drives very well so it's so any car like for no Steve actually you feel like sitting in a yeah it's our pie that visibility is great all around but it's dead easy instead familiar it's nice and simple to maneuver around town and then the steering sharp it's light the car grips and goes on corners really well actually for it or car and yeah it's just it's just pleasurable now the suspension deals well with bumps but you can make it softer by going for the optional adaptive suspension now that's worth doing if you go for the larger alloys on the car cause bigger wheels do just show the boobs a little bit more but still yeah it's a comfy car to travel in and it's quite a speed and then there's the engines so yeah the VW Group edges are very good the one in this is the 2-liter diesel with 150 horsepower that is all you need it's just a great all-rounder supposed to do 49 miles per gallon and somehow or other I've managed to do 49 miles per gallon that's the first time I've ever done that actually cut pangong what a manufacturers there's now the engine itself is smooth its punchy it's good if you want a tow now if you're just going to driving around town though not do many miles get the 150 horsepower petrol it's it's got enough performance from round town but if you gain fully loaded with seven people in this car it might start to struggle a bit great I should mention gear changes it can feel a little bit notchy but the shift is positive and if you're on automatic it of course you can get one of those as well also you can get this car with four-wheel drive which is what this car has but I won't bother paying extra for it unless you really really want to go off-road and this isn't the best off-road or if you wanted that kind of thing anyway so yeah look at the front-wheel drive car save yourself some money now if you click on the pop-out banner in the top right hand corner of the screen or the link below the video you've got a car like on for more information on the Tiguan all space and see how much you can save on one or any car for that matter so then my verdict on this car should you avoid it should you consider it should you shortlist it or should you just go right ahead and buy it well I reckon you should consider the Tiguan all space the Tiguan is a good SUV just that the all space is just not really practical enough for a seven seater so there's better options out there if you enjoyed this video please like it and share it and click on our logo to subscribe to this channel on the video window for more content and on the deals box to the right to see how much
