The World of Dark Romance: Exploring the Genre and Personal Preferences

For me, dark romance is a very specific genre that I have come to appreciate over time. It's not just about the darkness itself, but how it's used to tell a story and develop characters. When done well, dark romance can be incredibly engaging and fun to read. However, when it's not executed properly, it can be off-putting or even worse.

One of my favorite things about dark romance is the complexity of its characters. The mob and mafia world, in particular, offers a rich backdrop for exploring themes of power, hierarchy, and conflict. This is evident in books like "Promise and Pomegranates" where the author skillfully weaves together multiple storylines and character arcs to create a compelling narrative.

When it comes to romance, I find that I am most drawn to stories where both characters are equally dark or fall into a fun, absurd world like Mafia romance. This type of relationship allows me to fully invest in their emotional journey and appreciate the complexities of their interactions. On the other hand, I tend to be less interested in books where one character is overtly "bad" or lacks depth.

Personally, I have developed a fondness for authors who excel at crafting complex characters and storylines within the dark romance genre. One such author is Sophie Lark, whose book "Brutal Prints" caught my eye due to its reverse harem setup. Although I've never read any of her books before, I'm excited to dive in and explore her writing style.

Another author who has piqued my interest is Sophie Lark's contemporary, which I'll refer to as the mysterious title that starts with "H". The book's reverse premise has me both intrigued and apprehensive, but I'm eager to learn more about it. Unfortunately, I've never heard of this author before, so I'm starting from scratch.

In contrast, some books have left a lasting impression on me, such as "Butcher and Blackbird" which skillfully blended elements of dark romance with other genres like mystery and drama. This type of storytelling allows the reader to fully immerse themselves in the world of the story, and I find it incredibly engaging.

On the other hand, some books have left a sour taste in my mouth. For instance, "The Predator" fell flat for me due to its poorly developed characters and lackluster plot. Conversely, some books that I genuinely enjoyed include "Hooked", "Broken Beauty", "The Mind Series", and "Butcher and Blackbird".

Throughout this journey of exploring dark romance, I've realized that it's not just about the genre itself, but also the type of storylines and characters that resonate with me. While some readers may prefer the darker, more intense aspects of the genre, others like myself appreciate the complexities and nuances that make each book unique.

Ultimately, my love for dark romance is rooted in its ability to tell compelling stories with complex characters, often set against a backdrop of danger and uncertainty. As I continue to explore this genre, I'm excited to discover new authors and books that will captivate me and leave an indelible mark on my reading experience.

The world of dark romance can be a wild and unpredictable ride, but for those who appreciate its complexities, it offers a unique opportunity to get lost in the pages of a captivating story. As someone who has found themselves drawn into this genre, I'm eager to share my thoughts and experiences with fellow readers and explore the many facets that make dark romance so compelling.

In conclusion, my affinity for dark romance is based on its ability to craft complex characters and engaging storylines within a specific niche of genres like Mafia romance or reverse harem. While I may not be as drawn to stories featuring overtly "bad" characters, I appreciate those that offer depth and nuance in their protagonists. As I continue to read and explore the world of dark romance, I'm excited to discover new authors and books that will resonate with me and leave an lasting impression on my reading experience.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome to reading dark romances for a week I am 2% excited for this video and 98% scared dark romance is something that I have dabbled in but it's not a section of romance that I've read too much of two I really loved which are in Blackbird and the mind series and then two dark romances that really didn't work for me is the first two books in The Devil's KN series these the characters do some wild questionable things which I think just ultimately made me not like the characters and if I don't like a character I'm not going to root for them anyway I ended up getting a piece of paper and writing down a bunch of dark romances and put them in a jar because I don't really know where to start with dark romances we're just going to pick one at random this really determines my fate and I don't know what I even want to pick out okay we got one hooked okay I think this is a perfect place to start I already own this book which is nice some of the other books in the jar I don't own so you might be going to the bookstore later in this video but this is one that I think will be pretty in my comfort zone so I feel like this is a pretty good place to start this book is inspired by Peter Pan I believe the author has said that it shouldn't be considered a literal fairy tale retelling but that she calls it a Fractured Fairy Tale where the villain gets the happy ending so that's where we've got our dark romance coming in I just WR the prologue and we literally started out with the main character killing somebody we just jump right in to the dark romance I thought we'd ease in a little more but no and it's so funny because the book starts out once upon a time like as if we're you know jumping into a fairy tale Once Upon a Time it feels different than I thought it would killing him fairy tale to dark real quick and it's a little bit graphic too but next we go into Wendy's POV so I think things might be a little bit lighter at least for the next chapter um I'm not that much further I just started chapter 4 and this man is a little bit unhinged more than a little bit actually I would say I don't think I ever read anything like this so far he's very violent of a person and I don't know what I just read in this paragraph I am almost halfway through the book I just had a big realization I feel like of why I like some dark romances but not others I think I like when both characters are dark and morally gray but I don't love the dynamic as much when just one of the characters is dark specifically if just the male is morally gray I think why I loved Butcher and blackbird so much is because both characters are serial killers so it's just this very like fun Twisted absurd world World versus like in this book James is really dark and more gray but then Wendy is like really innocent it feels more like a power imbalance to me when only one of them is really a dark character I don't think power and balance is like quite the right way to phrase it but I think it's just such a different Dynamic when only one character is really morally gray anyway I got the audiobook so I'm going to go for a little walk and listen this book got spicy fairly quickly I personally really like spicy books I'm curious y'all's opinion if you like spice for like more closed door romance kind of how much spice you like saying that I like spice I will also say I always prefer like more plot than just like a ton of spicy scenes this is semi-related semi- random but something I was thinking about a lot recently is I used to be so embarrassed of liking romance books or just like the romance genre in general even romance movies when I was a kid I didn't read romance books but I did watch a ton of romance movies and I had like a fake movie that I would say was my favorite movie because I was too embarrassed to say a romance movie that was actually my favorite movie I don't know if this is relatable to anybody or literally just something I did yeah especially in college I was a film major so I feel like everyone's favorite movies were like Oscar winning movies and mine were just like romance movies so yeah especially in college I was not saying I liked romance movies and then when I got into reading I kind of started to do with romance books like I think I was a lot more comfortable liking Romance by that point and would say I read romance but also be like I read romance and mystery thriller and fantasy like kind of to take the spotlight away from that I read romance and yeah it's such a silly thing to be embarrassed I guess is the word of liking Romance of liking spicy books I think I felt that way because I thought people would take the romance genre less seriously like think oh she just reads or watches like silly like frivolous like surface level books and movies and I was actually talking about this with my therapist I think last year and I feel like she really made change my perspective and she said it so perfectly I'll probably butcher it but she was just saying that Romance Books teach us about communication relationships like all of these amazing things that are such a huge part of our lives and every else's lives whether it's a platonic or romantic relationship relationships are a huge part of our life so to be able to read about that learn about that healthy relationships what part of relationships are not healthy the conflict in relationships like is so valuable and not an unserious genre at all even if a romance is packaged as more light we're still learning such valuable lessons we're also just getting enjoyment and fun out of it and I don't know I just like loved all she had to say about the romance genre and now like I am so confident about saying I love romance I think also being a part of like book talk and book to has helped with that as well and my favorite thing now I feel like every time I say that I like romance books there's always somebody in the room who's like me too I think like every party I go to now if I mention romance I end up in the corner with some girl talking about romance for like an hour and it's my favorite thing ever so anyway this is a huge tangent but just something I was thinking about and something I'm so curious like y'all's thoughts on I finished the book I think I'm going to say 2.75 Stars I definitely don't think James was a good person so it's like a little hard to root for him and the main couple but also it's dark romance so it's kind of like obviously the characters are going to be morally gray I think it's kind of fun I guess to read about this kind of like overtly Dark World like it's almost so dark that it feels very fictional the whole entire world are dark so I don't feel like I have to like hold the characters to like modern day Society standards because that's not the the point of the book James is a murderer for sure like he kind of gruesomely tortures people before he kills them but those things I feel like I can look past them again because that's just like the tone and the atmosphere of the world which sounds really funny to say like I obviously wouldn't look past those actions in real life where I draw the line is I feel like he didn't treat our female main character very well and it just sounds so funny to say like murder torture drug dealing like that's fine like I still liked him until I got to a point where I was just like I don't care for the relationship because I don't want them to be together like I think she can do better let's pick our next book I could just be reading the most wild out- of pocket thing for like 10 hours depending what I pick I drew the Predator so I actually ordered this book a few days ago because I figured even if I didn't pick it from the jar and read it in this video I'd want to read it at some point eventually and when it came in the mail it came like all bet and stain too lazy to return it cuz it's still completely readable but that was bu I am actually really excited to start this book I'm hesitant to say that because I was also really excited to start hooked and then I ended up not loving it so I want to be tentative about my excitement but I did see Steph reading dark romance books for a week for a video and this is the one that she loved the most so I just trust her opinion so much and I have a really good feeling that I'm going to love it too hopefully I just read the preface in chapter 1 and I have a really good feeling about this book I love that this book already has what I was missing and hooked and hooked like I said I didn't like how they weren't equal but in this book they already feel equally dark it starts out with her breaking into his house to kill him which like what a great opening just to begin with she's obviously like there to kill him so she is just as dark as him if not darker I don't know we'll see it's also so cute how they're threatening to kill each other like we know they're going to fall in love but they don't know that yet and they're just out here thinking they're enemies when we know they're not going to be I don't know it's just so funny and I love enemies slers it always makes me excited also I got the audio book lately I have been obsessed with getting the physical book in the Audi book kind of an expensive Obsession but I do try to use my library if I get an audiobook or I do have an audible subscription recently I got really back into playing Animal Crossing I had played honestly since like the pandemic I think when I got on Animal Crossing it said I hadn't played in 2 years and 2 months so I think I'm going to listen to the Audi book and play some Animal Crossing look at my little animal crossing home welcome to the kitchen and the bedroom it feels so funny listening to a dark romance while playing Animal Crossing cuz it's such like a cute adorable game like the two moods do not go together it is much later and I'm on page 120 and I am so obsessed with this book I'm literally so obsessed I can't stop reading it I think the thing that's making me the most obsessed is I can't figure out how they're going to get together like how they're going to cross that line because she's the daughter of a mob boss and then Tristan is in the mob but a different mob family so they're a part of two like rival mob families so just the idea of them getting together sounds so messy how is that going to play out it feels very Forbidden Love and they're also like still threatening to kill each other still like hating each other so they also have to get over that something I love so much about Tristan Kane is he's definitely more of like the silent mysterious type we don't actually know that much about him but we still know so much of his character because of his actions he's 100% a man of actions over words and I didn't really realize it till this book that I feel like that's kind of rare in Romance Books and I'm just loving that so much because I feel like I can trust him I feel like I know that he's a good person protective loyal like all these great qualities but I still crave knowing so much more about him runix did a great job writing his character the next is called stripping and now that I want to read but I think I'm going to stop and go to bed it's gotten so late I'm so sleepy but I just want to keep reading but I will have to stop and get some rest good morning I've been sitting all morning in my PJs and reading I'm currently on page 318 so I'm almost done and I know that this book is the first book in a Trilogy and I was kind of hoping that each book would kind of be its own story like not fully Standalone but wrap up the subplots but I have a feeling it won't and it's going to be left on a cliffhanger I don't know for sure we'll see I finished the book it was so good I think I'm going to say five stars also I said this series is a Trilogy it's not it's a five book series I did not realize it's that long that's crazy and now all I want to do is read the next book in the series but I feel like that'd be really boring if for the rest of the video I just read this series so we're going to stick to our original plan and pick the next one out of a jar promises and pomegranates this one I would say I'm the least intrigued by out of all the books in our jar just because it's a I don't think it's a full retelling but it's inspired by Hades ephanie and I have already read Hades and panie retelling which I did really like but I do think there are other books in this jar that are much more unique much more out of my comfort zone that I'm just intrigued by I just read the author's note and she recommends that you read the prequel first so I just got the prequel on my iPad it's only 70 pages so it should be a pretty quick read I don't think this is a spoiler because I'm only on page 25 of the prequel but if you don't want to know anything you could skip this part but the love interest interest cow has slept with the main character's mom like what I'm sorry what part of me wants to dnf the book just right here right now because of that I was enjoying the book so far and now I'm angry like why who wants that in a book does anybody like that in a book I'm going to finish the prequel but depending how it goes I may choose choose not to read promises and pomegranates I finished reading the prequel and I think I might not read promises and pomegranates I didn't really like the prequel feel like it was 90% smut which I do love spicy books but that's just I think too much for me I always prefer more plot the mom thing was just like one tiny sentence like it was not really relevant to this book but definitely a little weird there is like a quite a big age Gap so maybe we'll find out more in promises pegr maybe it's a situation where he was like taken advantage of by the mom I don't know yeah I also just feel like the characters really reminded me of the main characters in hooked which I didn't love it feels like it would be a similar Dynamic to that book but if any of you guys have read promises and pomeg grates and you liked it think I should read it let me know because I still obviously own the book so I can always come back and read it later but I just don't feel like I would like it and I just cannot stop thinking about the Predator this book was literally so good and most of the time when I read romance series they're like individual Standalone books within the series so like book two would be a different couple but for this book it's the same couple in book two so I just feel like I almost stopped in the middle of a book so my head is just in this and I want to know what's going to happen next so I think I'm going to start the second book in this series is called the reaper I just ordered online so it's coming in tomorrow so I'm going to start the ebook for now I've been reading all morning and a bunch last night and I am 47% of the way through the ebook it's just so good like I am so obsessed with this series sometimes honestly a lot of times I don't like romance series that are not Standalone most romance series I feel like each book follows a different couple love that but when it's the same couple throughout the whole series A lot of times like get bored and dnf the series because once the characters get together I lose interest a lot of times but in this book their physical connection I feel like has moved at a normal Pace but their emotional connection is moving so slowly like such a slow burn with the emotions and I love that so much and I'm still halfway through book to craving so much more the physical book is here I'm so excited to switch to the physical book ebooks are great but for some reason with ebooks no matter how far the percentage says I am through the book I think I'm like 50% of the way through right now it just doesn't feel satisfying I like to see where I physically am in the book or it feels like I haven't read any that probably makes no sense oh my gosh this book has really big text I did not expect that all right I'm on page 232 like look how satisfying that feels to be like we're halfway I'm also so excited to eventually own all the books it just always feels so satisfying when you have an entire series on your shelf cuz they all match anyway let's go read welcome to day five our last day I'm on page 295 so I've just about 100 pages left in this book which is actually I think so perfect for finishing out today the thing I love so much about this book and the first book and the whole series is that there's so much going on like yes this series is a romance but we also have so much going on in the like mob Mafia world like I said there's two different like mob mafia families I don't know do you use those words interchangeably the mob and the mafia I'm just going to say mob there's two different mob families that Tristan and Morana come from so there's like conflict with the two mob families within the individual mob family there's like conflict and hierarchy and like power and then we also have this other subplot where some people have gone missing so we have a mystery there there's Side characters there's just like a lot happening and I love that so much oh my gosh the cutest sweetest thing ever just happened with the romance it makes me so happy honestly I kind of want to highlight this quote I don't ever annotate I don't really care for annotating and highlighting so when I'm compelled to get my highlighter out that means the quote I read is just so good I just love these characters with my whole heart I'm so happy for them and most of all proud of them because they've come so far both Tristan and Morana have a ton of baggage and Trauma from their whole life basically so there's just so much they had to kind of like overcome and put behind them in order to allow space for love and a relationship and allow each other to be vulnerable with each other and connect and ites so happy to see how much their romance and like emotional vulnerability I guess has progressed on to the epilog I finished the book also there's like a little sneak preview of book three and book three follows a different couple I did not know that it actually makes sense because there's like this kind of like romance subplot going on with the side characters so we actually follow the side characters book three which I feel mixed on because on the one hand I do want to get the side character story and the romance with Tristan and Mirana is kind of complete but at the same time I just love Tristan and Mirana so much and I did not realize their books are only the first two books of the series so I didn't know this is the last book I'm reading of this couple I would literally read about them getting coffee getting groceries watching paint dry I just like them that much but regardless I'm still very excited to read book three I just went and grabbed every dark r Rance I've ever read and it's so funny because all of these I've either given in the two stars or five stars I really just love or hate dark romance no in between promises and pomegranates I guess I didn't technically read in this video but the prequel didn't like it's going in the two star pile the predator and the reaper five stars hooked in the two stars and then previously I've read a touch of Darkness five stars the mind series five stars Butcher and Blackbird five stars my dark Romeo in the two stars and then the devil's Knight series also in the two stars all five stars all two stars I don't know it's just really funny to see so that's all the dark rment is I'm reading this video I'll show you guys the other ones that I wrote down in this jar so if any of you guys have read these if you think they're good if you think I'd like them let me know I wrote down brutal prints I would like to read this book I've never read any book by Sophie Lark before and I've heard great things about her as an author so I think I'd like to read brutal prints broken Beauty I own this book so I will read it because I physically own it but I am mixed on it it's reverse herum which I've never read before and I don't know how I'm going to feel about that and then I wrote down haunting Adelaide I have heard this is like the craziest dark romance so I'm very curious about this book but also scared of it in conclusion do I like dark romance I would say yes but only a very specific kind of dark romance I don't think I care for as much when the characters are like bad people just like not good people what I like more so is when the book exists in a dark world like Mafia romance or if both characters are equally dark in more of a fun kind of absurd way which I think like Butcher and Blackbird does really well so if any of you guys have any wrecks that fit that let me know because it's so hard to tell when looking at a dark romance what kind of like category it's going to fall into and I'm also so curious do you guys like dark romances and if so what kinds it's definitely a very fun genre and it's fun how kind of like wild the plots can get in dark romance books anyway with that I will see you guys in my next video bye yeahwelcome to reading dark romances for a week I am 2% excited for this video and 98% scared dark romance is something that I have dabbled in but it's not a section of romance that I've read too much of two I really loved which are in Blackbird and the mind series and we know they're not going to be I don't know it's just so funny and I love enemies slers it always makes me excited also I got the audio book lately I have been obsessed with getting the physical book in the Audi book kind of an expensive Obsession but I do try to use my library if I get an audiobook or I do have an audible subscription recently I got really back into playing Animal Crossing I had played honestly since like the pandemic I think when I got on Animal Crossing it said I hadn't played in 2 years and 2 months so I think I'm going to listen to the Audi book and play some Animal Crossing look at my little animal crossing home welcome to the kitchen and the bedroom it feels so funny listening to a dark romance while playing Animal Crossing cuz it's such like a cute adorable game like the two moods do not go together it is much later and I'm on page 120 and I am so obsessed with this book I'm literally so obsessed I can't stop reading it I think the thing that's making me the most obsessed is I can't figure out how they're going to get together like how they're going to cross that line because she's the daughter of a mob boss and then Tristan is in the mob but a different mob family so they're a part of two like rival mob families so just the idea of them getting together sounds so messy how is that going to play out it feels very Forbidden Love and they're also like still threatening to kill each other still like hating each other so they also have to get over that something I love so much about Tristan Kane is he's definitely more of like the silent mysterious type we don't actually know that much about him but we still know so much of his character because of his actions he's 100% a man of actions over words and I didn't really realize it till this book that I feel like that's kind of rare in Romance Books and I'm just loving that so much because I feel like I can trust him I feel like I know that he's a good person protective loyal like all these great qualities but I still crave knowing so much more about him runix did a great job writing his character the next is called stripping and now that I want to read but I think I'm going to stop and go to bed it's gotten so late I'm so sleepy but I just want to keep reading but I will have to stop and get some rest good morning I've been sitting all morning in my PJs and reading I'm currently on page 318 so I'm almost done and I know that this book is the first book in a Trilogy and I was kind of hoping that each book would kind of be its own story like not fully Standalone but wrap up the subplots but I have a feeling it won't and it's going to be left on a cliffhanger I don't know for sure we'll see I finished the book it was so good I think I'm going to say five stars also I said this series is a Trilogy it's not it's a five book series I did not realize it's that long that's crazy and now all I want to do is read the next book in the series but I feel like that'd be really boring if for the rest of the video I just read this series so we're going to stick to our original plan and pick the next one out of a jar promises and pomegranates this one I would say I'm the least intrigued by out of all the books in our jar just because it's a I don't think it's a full retelling but it's inspired by Hades ephanie and I have already read Hades and panie retelling which I did really like but I do think there are other books in this jar that are much more unique much more out of my comfort zone that I'm just intrigued by I just read the author's note and she recommends that you read the prequel first so I just got the prequel on my iPad it's only 70 pages so it should be a pretty quick read I don't think this is a spoiler because I'm only on page 25 of the prequel but if you don't want to know anything you could skip this part but the love interest interest cow has slept with the main character's mom like what I'm sorry what part of me wants to dnf the book just right here right now because of that I was enjoying the book so far and now I'm angry like why who wants that in a book does anybody like that in a book I'm going to finish the prequel but depending how it goes I may choose choose not to read promises and pomegranates I finished reading the prequel and I think I might not read promises and pomegranates I didn't really like the prequel feel like it was 90% smut which I do love spicy books but that's just I think too much for me I always prefer more plot the mom thing was just like one tiny sentence like it was not really relevant to this book but definitely a little weird there is like a quite a big age Gap so maybe we'll find out more in promises pegr maybe it's a situation where he was like taken advantage of by the mom I don't know yeah I also just feel like the characters really reminded me of the main characters in hooked which I didn't love it feels like it would be a similar Dynamic to that book but if any of you guys have read promises and pomeg grates and you liked it think I should read it let me know because I still obviously own the book so I can always come back and read it later but I just don't feel like I would like it and I just cannot stop thinking about the Predator this book was literally so good and most of the time when I read romance series they're like individual Standalone books within the series so like book two would be a different couple but for this book it's the same couple in book two so I just feel like I almost stopped in the middle of a book so my head is just in this and I want to know what's going to happen next so I think I'm going to start the second book in this series is called the reaper I just ordered online so it's coming in tomorrow so I'm going to start the ebook for now I've been reading all morning and a bunch last night and I am 47% of the way through the ebook it's just so good like I am so obsessed with this series sometimes honestly a lot of times I don't like romance series that are not Standalone most romance series I feel like each book follows a different couple love that but when it's the same couple throughout the whole series A lot of times like get bored and dnf the series because once the characters get together I lose interest a lot of times but in this book their physical connection I feel like has moved at a normal Pace but their emotional connection is moving so slowly like such a slow burn with the emotions and I love that so much and I'm still halfway through book to craving so much more the physical book is here I'm so excited to switch to the physical book ebooks are great but for some reason with ebooks no matter how far the percentage says I am through the book I think I'm like 50% of the way through right now it just doesn't feel satisfying I like to see where I physically am in the book or it feels like I haven't read any that probably makes no sense oh my gosh this book has really big text I did not expect that all right I'm on page 232 like look how satisfying that feels to be like we're halfway I'm also so excited to eventually own all the books it just always feels so satisfying when you have an entire series on your shelf cuz they all match anyway let's go read welcome to day five our last day I'm on page 295 so I've just about 100 pages left in this book which is actually I think so perfect for finishing out today the thing I love so much about this book and the first book and the whole series is that there's so much going on like yes this series is a romance but we also have so much going on in the like mob Mafia world like I said there's two different like mob mafia families I don't know do you use those words interchangeably the mob and the mafia I'm just going to say mob there's two different mob families that Tristan and Morana come from so there's like conflict with the two mob families within the individual mob family there's like conflict and hierarchy and like power and then we also have this other subplot where some people have gone missing so we have a mystery there there's Side characters there's just like a lot happening and I love that so much oh my gosh the cutest sweetest thing ever just happened with the romance it makes me so happy honestly I kind of want to highlight this quote I don't ever annotate I don't really care for annotating and highlighting so when I'm compelled to get my highlighter out that means the quote I read is just so good I just love these characters with my whole heart I'm so happy for them and most of all proud of them because they've come so far both Tristan and Morana have a ton of baggage and Trauma from their whole life basically so there's just so much they had to kind of like overcome and put behind them in order to allow space for love and a relationship and allow each other to be vulnerable with each other and connect and ites so happy to see how much their romance and like emotional vulnerability I guess has progressed on to the epilog I finished the book also there's like a little sneak preview of book three and book three follows a different couple I did not know that it actually makes sense because there's like this kind of like romance subplot going on with the side characters so we actually follow the side characters book three which I feel mixed on because on the one hand I do want to get the side character story and the romance with Tristan and Mirana is kind of complete but at the same time I just love Tristan and Mirana so much and I did not realize their books are only the first two books of the series so I didn't know this is the last book I'm reading of this couple I would literally read about them getting coffee getting groceries watching paint dry I just like them that much but regardless I'm still very excited to read book three I just went and grabbed every dark r Rance I've ever read and it's so funny because all of these I've either given in the two stars or five stars I really just love or hate dark romance no in between promises and pomegranates I guess I didn't technically read in this video but the prequel didn't like it's going in the two star pile the predator and the reaper five stars hooked in the two stars and then previously I've read a touch of Darkness five stars the mind series five stars Butcher and Blackbird five stars my dark Romeo in the two stars and then the devil's Knight series also in the two stars all five stars all two stars I don't know it's just really funny to see so that's all the dark rment is I'm reading this video I'll show you guys the other ones that I wrote down in this jar so if any of you guys have read these if you think they're good if you think I'd like them let me know I wrote down brutal prints I would like to read this book I've never read any book by Sophie Lark before and I've heard great things about her as an author so I think I'd like to read brutal prints broken Beauty I own this book so I will read it because I physically own it but I am mixed on it it's reverse herum which I've never read before and I don't know how I'm going to feel about that and then I wrote down haunting Adelaide I have heard this is like the craziest dark romance so I'm very curious about this book but also scared of it in conclusion do I like dark romance I would say yes but only a very specific kind of dark romance I don't think I care for as much when the characters are like bad people just like not good people what I like more so is when the book exists in a dark world like Mafia romance or if both characters are equally dark in more of a fun kind of absurd way which I think like Butcher and Blackbird does really well so if any of you guys have any wrecks that fit that let me know because it's so hard to tell when looking at a dark romance what kind of like category it's going to fall into and I'm also so curious do you guys like dark romances and if so what kinds it's definitely a very fun genre and it's fun how kind of like wild the plots can get in dark romance books anyway with that I will see you guys in my next video bye yeah\n"
