MacBook Pro 2011 Unboxing (Quad-Core)

Unboxing the 2011 MacBook Pro 15in with Lou from Unbox Therapy

As I excitedly open the package, I'm greeted by the familiar sight of a MacBook Pro and its accompanying accessories. The laptop itself is a sleek and powerful machine, boasting a quad-core processor at 2.2 GHz and an upgraded graphics card. I had the opportunity to check out some benchmarks on Geekbench, and I was impressed by the results - this laptop is approximately twice as fast as my previous generation iMac, making it a truly mobile workstation.

As I begin to unbox the MacBook Pro, I'm presented with the standard power extension cable that comes with every Mac. This cable is designed to be used with both MacBook Pros and iMacs, and it's clear that Apple has made an effort to create a universal accessory. Next, I pull out the MagSafe adapter, which is slightly different from the previous one I've seen. Instead of the extension prong, this one has a shorter contraption on the end - a subtle design change that suggests Apple is always looking for ways to improve their products.

As I carefully remove the plastic wrap that covers the laptop, I'm met with a familiar sight - the sleek and durable unibody construction that has become synonymous with Apple's laptops. The laptop itself isn't too light, but considering its powerful specs, it's well worth the extra weight. I plug in the power extension cable and watch as the laptop springs to life, its screen glowing brightly as it boots up.

As the laptop begins to boot, I'm presented with a quick start guide that explains the basics of getting started with my new device. The manual is comprehensive and easy to follow, making it simple for even the most novice user to get up and running. Next, I pull out the restore discs, which are traditional CDs rather than the digital downloads used in some newer Macs. I also find a cleaning cloth, which will come in handy given the laptop's glossy screen.

As I work on removing the cellophane wrap that covers the laptop, I'm struck by how well Apple has designed their packaging. It's clear that they've put thought into every detail, from the way the components are packed to the way the instructions are laid out. The result is a seamless unboxing experience that leaves me feeling excited and eager to get started with my new laptop.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys it's Lou from unbox therapy and today we're looking at the MacBook Pro 15in this is the 2011 model with the quad core processor at 2.2 GHz and the upgraded graphics card I was looking at some benchmarks on geekbench and I personally felt that this was the best cost to Performance ratio considering the scores it achieves it's about twice as fast as my previous generation iMac and for a laptop that's pretty impressive in fact this is faster than most of the current generation IMAX 2 so this is really truly a mobile workstation maybe more so than any MacBook Pro before it but let's talk about the unboxing cuz that's what you're all here for first we got the MacBook Pro and then our power extension cable the same as we've received with MacBooks and MacBook Pros for many years there you got your power prongs and this little portion Clips on to the AC brick itself now here is the mag safe adapter and right now it's got the shorter little Contraption on the end as opposed to the extension let's see if I can get this plastic off apparently I've never unboxed anything before hello Ridge where are you there we go so anyway this is pretty self explanatory it's an 85 watt the MacBooks use a 60 watt so they are not interchangeable although you can use an 85 watt on a Macbook so you can use the more powerful adapter backwards but you can't use the other one forwards I should say so here is a little bit of documentation we got everything Mac which is basically a quick start guide a little bit of a manual and next we've got everything else which is our restore discs ET ET unlike the MacBook Air we're getting traditional discs bummer and we get a cleaning cloth because this thing has the stock glossy screen so that's going to come in handy now let's see if we got better luck taking this cellophane like wrap off of the laptop itself let's go ahead and bust that seal guess I own it now unless I want unless I want to pay that crazy Apple Store restocking fee so it's pretty much what you'd expect if you've handled any of these unibody models you know what they're all about I mean it's not too light but then again when you consider the power it's well worth it we got a little bit of a charge our headphone jack we got our microphone Jack SD card a couple of USBS Thunderbolt firewire 800 gigabit Ethernet and our mag safe adapter the other side has our Kensington lock and our super Drive of course we got that new HD camera up top and let's go ahead and check out the Virgin boot now this is going to be you know slower probably just because it's the very first time and you're not really booting into the OS but instead just into the installation procedure but I'm probably going to swap in an SSD and move the traditional hard drive over to the optical drive bay um I'll probably make a video of it so you guys know what I'm talking about but I don't use the optical drive too much and I'd much rather get the speed associated with an SSD while keeping that 750 gig drive for media Etc so here we can see it thinking about to say hello to us for the first time here we go we got the beautiful leopard colors coming right up hopefully we'll get lineing in a little bit and I'll load that on here toowhat's up guys it's Lou from unbox therapy and today we're looking at the MacBook Pro 15in this is the 2011
