**The World of Toy Photography: A Collector's Perspective**
As a collector and enthusiast of toy photography, I have always been fascinated by the art of capturing miniature models and action figures in a way that showcases their intricate details and textures. One of my personal hobbies is taking photos of these tiny toys, and I'm always on the lookout for new ones to add to my collection. In this article, I'll be shining a spotlight on Mezco Toys, a company that has made significant improvements over the past couple of years with their 1/12 Collective line.
**Mezco Toys: A Rising Star in the Toy Industry**
Mezco Toys is a company that has been around for a while, but it's only in recent years that they've really started to make a name for themselves. While they may be more known for some of their horror licenses and less traditional toys, their 1/12 Collective line has taken them to a whole new level. With figures that are highly detailed and poseable, Mezco Toys has become a favorite among toy photographers and collectors alike.
One of the reasons I think Mezco Toys stands out is due to their attention to detail when it comes to clothing and accessories. The cut and fabric on their figures are top-notch, with everything from nylon for flowy capes to soft plastic and even canvas with stitching. This level of detail makes all the difference in terms of poseability and display potential. Whether you're posing your figure or simply displaying it on a shelf, Mezco's attention to detail ensures that every aspect of the toy looks its best.
**The Stand: A Game-Changer for Toy Display**
One feature that sets Mezco Toys apart from other companies is their stand. While many toys come with simple stands that don't allow for much poseability, Mezco's stands are a game-changer. They grip the figure from the back, allowing for maximum flexibility and articulation. With hinges and even twist points, these stands make it easy to create complex poses and arrangements.
I've had the chance to see some of Mezco's figures up close, and I'm impressed by their level of detail and quality. From the Thor Ragnarok lineup to other characters like Ronin and Wolverine from the MCU, every figure is a standout. One of my favorite things about Mezco's toys is that they're not just poseable but also have great paint jobs for this scale.
**Painting and Customization: Taking It to the Next Level**
While Mezco Toys' figures are already highly detailed, I think there's always room for improvement. That's why I love it when collectors add a little extra flair with paints or custom modifications. Whether you're using airbrushes or paint brushes, there's nothing quite like adding some personalized touches to bring your toy to life.
One of the great things about Mezco Toys' figures is that they come with all the accessories in a Ziploc baggie, making it easy to organize and store them when not on display. This feature alone makes them a great choice for collectors who want to keep their toys organized and protected.
**Conclusion: Mezco Toys is a Must-Check for Toy Photographers**
If you're a toy photographer or collector looking for new figures to add to your collection, I highly recommend checking out Mezco Toys' 1/12 Collective line. With their attention to detail, poseable figures, and great paint jobs, they've set themselves apart from other companies in the industry. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, Mezco's toys are sure to impress.
**Get Ready for New Arrivals at Toy Fair**
Mezco Toys will be showing off their latest creations at this year's New York Toy Fair, so if you're in attendance, be sure to check them out. With new figures and designs on the horizon, there's always something exciting to look forward to. And who knows? You might just find a new favorite toy to add to your collection.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everybody it's no one from tested and for today's show-and-tell I want to talk to you about toys action figures collectibles whatever you want to call them you may not know this but one of my personal hobbies is toy photography and I love taking photos of miniature models or action figures and always on the lookout for new toys and new figures that I can buy and photograph so at home I collect a lot of sixth scale figures you may have seen these these are the more taller ones twelve inches taller or higher from companies like Sideshow Collectibles or Hot Toys and some of the other companies we've done interviews with at shows like comic-con but there are a lot of toy companies at conventional a comic-con and one that's been around for a while that I want to put a spotlight on because I think they've done a great job over the past couple years probably the most improved toy company in my mind is mezco toys they may be more known in the past for some of their horror licenses and less traditional toys but the past couple years they have a new line called the 1/12 collective that's 1/12 scale so as opposed to 12 inches tall a little shorter but highly detailed and highly poseable figures of which I have a few right here and one of the reasons I think that some of their 1/12 toys I don't think all of them universally are necessarily the best quality but some of them are definitely worth picking out is because of the cutting so the clothing that they put on their figures from characters like you know Ronin Wolverines from films from the MCU of course we throw Ragnarok even older films like Evil Dead the detailed these figures are good for this scale butts really I think the cut and so the clothing that puts them above and makes them great for something like collecting and toy photography even within a single figure there's a bunch of different fabrics use you have things like nylon for a flowy cape which is a ripe for putting an armature underneath your faux leather here even soft plastic and even under the plastic around the collar you have more Follet ER there and some canvas here with stitching and screen printing that goes in the plastic onto the pants for some added relief all of that makes it look really good under light and so it holds under the pose ability of the finger underneath and the figures themselves are pretty poseable what I like is that the stand that's included with them is a stand that grips them from the back a lot of these toys have the kind of crotch-grabbing skins where you plug them in and you move up and down but doesn't allow for poseability it allows for display for standing upright these stands have a couple hinges and articulate and even twist so we can have something like four descending from the sky a few of their other really great collectibles I haven't be able to pick up because they sell out pretty quickly their magneto their Doctor Strange and you can find those on eBay those are the ones I'm envious of and a lot of the toy photographers that I follow on Instagram use mezco figures because they're definitely little more affordable than twelve of these six scale 12-inch figures but they have great detail and they're also right for after finishing work so if you want to take an airbrush or a paint brush to these these are also great to add a little bit more detail and just an extra little fuckness they include Ziploc baggies for all the accessories so you don't have to keep all the boxes you can just have this to splitting yourself and all the accessories in in storage I really really like their thor ragnarok lineup I think the hella they have is great that one is more of a skin tight body outfit some of these nylons definitely could use a little bit of extra weathering it's a little too clean here and I think the likenesses are good enough the paint jobs are definitely good enough for this scale like I said I would want to put some paint on these which is something we may do in the future so definitely check them out mezco toys their New York Toy Fair starting off a bunch of new stuff and we'll be definitely checking them out at a future comic-con but if you're into toy photography if you have some favorites or photographers that you follow on let me know and share some of your pictures as well I'd love to see them but until
