**Tinkering with Cell Phone Cameras: A Hands-On Experience**

products can you use that are easy to use that will help enhance your videos and photos from your phone obviously you can't swap out lenses on a phone so it has to use software to figure out how to zoom in to figure out how to focus properly to get the best image quality out of the lens already in the phone but that's not true anymore with products like the ones that sandmark sent us it's super easy to clip on a lens to get the look better image quality that you're looking for and that you've come to expect from using cameras how do they attach you can do it via the case so they do have a case as well which again is very premium feeling it's actually quite solid last name grip me on the iPhone to be honest I had trouble taking it off when I put it on so you put on the case and then you can screw in the different lenses to the case or and this is my preferred approach you can just clip it on and if you use the lenses with the clip-ons that's what you get speed and accessibility no iPhone so you bring out your phone and you just clip on the lens and you're good to go now the thing about cameras to be honest because different adapters that you seem to need you need to need so many screws to get this lens on right to get the camera on the tripod and dami among a different lengths and sizes and screws and whatnot I much prefer tinkering with my computer than tinkering with a the sensor so the image looks better looks more natural because it is more natural instead of a computer heavy to guess what it would look like and the sensor is actually reading more of the Light reading more of the image that you're seeing and that's why cameras usually have a better look because aside from having larger sensors they also have better lenses the focus light on Those sensors and we have that benefit now for cell phone photography with this kind of clip-on lenses it's quite dramatic actually when you're filming with the iPhone you're on the standard zoom and then you clip on the telephoto lens and the image jumps forward but the image is still just as clear the image is just the same it's just like you've moved forward so it is a good quality lens I know because it's quite heavy camera equipment I'm not using Auto holding them when they feel expensive and premium I might drop them might seem small and it is very compact but it's quite Hefty you can feel that this is a premium product and I also have the premium Jitters holding it I do prefer the clip-ons but the clip-ons actually hold on pretty well I already tried to shake it off to mimic let's say a running seat but as hard as I try to jiggle the thing the clips just really stayed on so the clip is sturdy but not sturdy enough fortunately that it will crack your iPhone no worries there the next kind of lens we had was a polarizer filter filters are interesting because I've only read about them basically they're tinted glass that covers the lens of your camera to provide Auto color grading as it were instead of having to go into post and changing the color if you have a tint already or you have a filter already on the lens you can give the scene the kind of look that you want sandmark was kind enough to send their polarizer filter which is supposed to make things sharper the polarizer filter is supposed to manage glare and suppress Reflections so it's ideal for outdoor environment where it's very bright and you kind of want to get the light just how you like it although interestingly when I tried it out indoors in a Starbucks it seemed to give everything a more natural golden color which you know if you're in Starbucks you're kind of thinking coffee you're thinking a lot of bra pounds a lot of Earth Stones I actually imporizer filter to shooting in a Starbucks or in a Coffee Cafe type environment and I'm gonna keep it real guys I'm not that into fancy photography I barely use the Instagram filters and only just for Hardware sugar photos the polarizer filter probably wouldn't fit into my use case too much where a lot of my photos are just a product but in the limited time that I did try it indoors in a kind of well-lit Cafe type environment and you can see the difference between the photos so this is very much a beginner's appreciation of the kind of tools that Sunmark develops definitely you can still produce a lot of good content with cell phones more so
