One of the things we like about the new Ultima is its interior. It's much nicer than before, and it might even be nicer than the Camry's. The Camry does feel a little bigger, but the Ultima has plenty of high-quality materials and lots of interesting colors and textures. For example, if you get the tech package, you can get a Bose stereo, Pandora, and even thumbs up songs using steering wheel-mounted buttons. This feature is especially convenient when listening to music on Pandora as an app. Additionally, there's a color display screen right in the middle of the instruments, making it easy to read larger, brighter gauges.

The interior of the Ultima also features interesting options like fake wood trim, which means it's not real wood but looks pretty convincing instead. The fake wood trim has a glossy texture and depth that other wood trims just can't match. This attention to detail adds an extra layer of luxury to the car's interior, making it feel more upscale than other midsize sedans on the market. When you look at the car from the side, it almost looks like an Infinity, thanks to its sleek lines and abundant chrome accents.

Another great feature of the new Ultima is its fuel economy. According to Nissan, the car gets up to 38 mpg per gallon on the highway, which is remarkable for a non-hybrid vehicle with a 4-cylinder engine and constantly variable transmission. What's more, Nissan took their existing gas-burning engine and CBT transmission and made them more efficient by reducing friction and oil consumption. This results in a little bit more efficiency on the road.

The Nissan Ultima feels substantial but not heavy, weighing about 80 lb lighter than last year's model. The suspension has also been revised, so the car still delivers sharp handling while having a remarkably smooth highway ride. Overall, the new Ultima is a great midsize family sedan that offers an extra level of luxury and performance.

In terms of engines, the new Ultima comes with two options: the 2.5 L 4-cylinder engine or the 3.5 L V6.
