**The Transformation is Complete**
We finally did it! After months of work, my daily driver is finally done, and I couldn't be happier. The end result is everything I had hoped for, and more. One of the things that caught my attention after driving the car and getting a little dirty was how resilient the Plastidip is. We applied a dip coat to the paint, which made it less rubbery and more smooth. Despite the car being in the rain on the way home, I only had to wipe away some dirt and dust to get it clean as a whistle. This level of resilience is incredible, and I'm loving the finish on this car.
**The Benefits of Plastidip**
One of the things that I really love about Plastidip is that it's completely DIY-friendly. With the right precautions and cleaning, you can achieve professional-looking results in your own garage. Of course, there are some caveats - you need to make sure you put enough product on the car and mask it properly - but if you do, you can get away with something like this. The best part about Plastidip is that it's completely removable, which means you can easily take it off when you want to restore your car back to its original state.
**A Headlight Makeover**
I also wanted to give a shout-out to my headlights, which were looking a bit worn out. I decided to replace both of them with new ones, and I have to say, it made a huge difference. The old headlight was yellowing, and there was some pitting on the surface - but now they're looking great. I did need to polish one of them slightly to get rid of any imperfections, but overall, they're good as new.
**The Build Process**
Now that the build is complete, I'm taking a step back to admire my handiwork. From the back, the car really pops - those red and white tail lights are a great touch, and the exhaust system adds a nice growl to the sound of the engine. The transformation from stock to this level of aggression is incredible, and I'm loving every minute of it.
**DIY Tips and Resources**
If you're looking to do a job like this yourself, then I highly recommend getting the large car kit from Dip Your Car Calm. They have everything you need, step by step, and their YouTube channel is full of tutorials and instructionals to help you get the look you want. They also offer a range of colors, including gloss, matte, pearl, and more - so you can customize your car to fit your style.
**A Big Shout-out to Dip Your Car Calm**
I want to give a huge shout-out to Dip Your Car Calm for making this transformation possible. The team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring my vision to life, and I'm forever grateful. If you're looking for a DIY car kit or resources, then they're definitely worth checking out.
**The Future of My Project**
Now that the build is complete, it's time to start thinking about what's next. The car is going up for sale soon, and I have a few interested buyers lined up. While I'm not sure who will end up with the car, I know that it'll be in good hands. In the meantime, I want to thank my lovely viewers for their support - you guys are the reason this project was possible, and I couldn't have done it without you.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhow's it going guys my name is devar Sh and today we're dipping my ass class the right way with a new color and I'll give you a little hint as to what it is so here she is first of all I'd like to thank you guys for joining me if this is your first time watching my channel thank you very much hope you guys like it subscribe if you like this video but this is my Mercedes s-class from the year 2000 this has been modified quite a bit from stock and today it's gonna get modified a little bit more because I am in the headquarters of dip your car calm if you don't know what dip your car calm is it's basically where all your plastidip dreams come true plastidip of course being a removable rubberized paint coating that allows you to basically change your color change the color on your car at a moment's notice well not at a moment's notice it takes a little bit of time and in prep work but you can do it pretty regularly and it doesn't hurt the paint and it looks freaking awesome but today we're gonna be putting on some much-needed color to my s-class because I've done some work in the past with plastidip as far as this s-class and my work is not exactly the best well I'm gonna make a lot of excuses as to why that is but right now I have no excuse because we are with the pros this is gonna get done the right way and here's the color that I'm going to choose this is a pearl pigment this is what you have to mix with the translucent agent and then you have to put that over a base coat of some primer ish gray or maybe even a black plastidip so that's what's gonna go on you can't really see it now but the color is gonna be very similar to the stock color that we have here it's just gonna be a little more elegant dare I say it's gonna be a little more greyish but I think it should fit the tone of this car very very well because after all the blue that I had on there before it was a little more sporty it was more for kind of flashy cars this cars not a flashy car this cars very understated but I want it to be looking on point so in the last step we were still masking off we have some masking off to do we finished this windshield we still have to do the windows and the sunroof but everything else is done the trim is taped off we have the exhaust taped off I believe we do a pre dip spray and then we are good to go for the base coats and then the top coats and that should be pretty interesting but I'm waiting for their technician Gabe to come and show me the ropes of how to do all this stuff because I sort of have painted a car before and I have plastered up the car before but I do know that my technique definitely could use some work so that's why I'm here today looks like we have a little straggler from Orlando he was along for the ride so here are some quick tips and tricks if you're trying to mask off your car and you don't really know what you're doing like I do so behind these doors they're usually these rubber weather stripping elements but what we did instead of masking all that off we just removed them so that's gonna make it a lot easier for us to mask back there all we have to do is open up the door and mask that off that way when the dip goes on it's not going to adhere to those rubber elements and if we open up the door it's not gonna peel up so that's really that's a really elegant really simple solution to do if it's hard for you to take off the rubber weather stripping then you probably should mask it off pretty well but I'm pretty fortunate in that area the area where I'm not fortunate is the fact that usually in a lot of cars especially German cars there's a separation between the roof line and the I guess this will be a quarter panel so it makes it a lot easier for any painters or plastidip Inge and all that stuff because there's a clear separation you can mask off individual sections and then you can also paint or plastidip one at a time versus you have to do everything together this car doesn't have that it's just one big panel and it makes it a little bit more difficult but I think we should be able to do it in any case also over here he's he's doing an awesome job with taping off this window and well this rear rear glass and it's it looks like it's a pain in the butt just because the the gap right here as you can see there's a there's a rubber weather stripping that that's coming up on the right side and he's getting off yeah you have to get up right up on it and it's yeah it's it's not it's not the easiest of situations but you do have to have some tape have some actually some good tape like the 3m stuff isn't that what you use yes it's trim tape just take your time and make sure that everything is masked off because when you start dipping or if you want to do a paint job then it's all in the prep work so here's a pro tip from a professional you have to mask off a rough outline of whatever you're masking off with the blue tape and then you use the yellow tape which is a little bit more pliable it's a little bit more bendable is that right yeah so you can go around these corners and you just put the yellow tape around these corners and it'll make a nice tight seal see what I was doing is I didn't actually use any yellow tape this is my side and it's not it's not the best but it should be okay and as you can see you have to have to rip it a bunch of times and sometimes increases both the yellow tape it's it's a lot nicer and yeah I'm definitely gonna use that in the future all right guys the prep work is all done we haven't masked off and we gave it a bath with pre dip spray now that basically takes off all the solvents all the nasty bits that you'd get that would react with a plastidip that you don't want now to familiarize you guys with the whole plastic experience I feel like I'm not the right person to do it but I have help so here we go so here's what we're gonna do first and foremost the biggest mistake somebody can make when classy dipping a car is not using the correct amount of product not using the right amount of product is not going to create a thick enough film and when you go back to peel it that's gonna put you in a situation which you were in yeah I'm just gonna have you using dip dissolver and a pressure washer to take some of the little scraps off the piece if you spray it properly you will peel it without any of that problem so here's what we're gonna do first when you buy a pro car kit from dip your car calm you get to choose from a small medium large or extra large car kits or whatever size range your vehicle falls in we already put together a kit for you so all the product that you need is there no guessing no problems at all so what we have here is a large sedan and our large pro car kit now the color that that he chose was steel blue so they large Pro car kit and steel blue is going to come with five gallons of base and for this color we're using a black base and three gallons of top coat this being the new matte different top coat which anybody who follows me on Instagram knows I am completely obsessed with this stuff so this is gonna hold all of our pearls and give us a nice clean matte finish so what we're gonna do now we've got all the product that we need we've got the car completely masked off and they actually did a really good job working shop manager gage making sure that everything is done right now one thing we will have to keep in mind and I'm not sure if you guys covered this earlier but there are a lot of peel when wet spots on this car mean while the last coat is still very wet we're gonna have to go back and we're gonna have to peel off a lot of this masking tape to get a nice clean edge as the placidity builds over and over over these edges here if we let it dry completely and we go back and try and peel this masking tape it's gonna tear and rip the plastidip it's not gonna be a very good look so we got to keep that in mind on our last coat we're going to work as a team identifies all the peel and wet spots and peel them while that last coat is still wet but we haven't even done the first coat yet so let's go we'll take the gun that we're gonna be using here the DYC gun we're gonna load up our first couple hoppers of black cuz that's gonna be our base coat and I'm gonna actually walk you through how to spray the product coat my coat before we start spraying I want to show you guys what I used for my plastidip experience I used this which is the basic sprayer it's it's very basic there's an on/off switch and you have a hose that comes out of here goes into the gun and air comes out and also plastidip goes in here Placido comes out and then that's how you plus it of your car it's not we're gonna be using today we're gonna be using this and this is a little bit more complex and it has a little bit better well a lot better result so I'm gonna let Fonzie explain that to you so basically have two options when you're using a pro car kit with dip your car you can use the regular sprayer system this is a classic dip spreader system and then we have the advanced tip spreader system there is a very big difference in the end result really comes down to one thing which is pressure or psi the original dip sprayer system is around 3 psi and the advanced tips pressure system is almost double at 5.5 psi and what that relates to is how much pressure is coming out of the gun now they both use the same gun but with a lot more pressure coming out of the gun it's going to atomize the dip into much smaller droplets it's going to help it wet out easier and actually a lot smoother so when you're actually choosing your pro car kit like Freddy did you can save a little bit of money and get the dip spare system which does work just fine but if you're looking for the easiest way to get a better end result across the board nothing will make as much of an impact as upgrading to the advanced system which is what we're going to be using today I want to use this in the back we're just gonna dial up and down how much fluid is actually flowing through the gun right we usually look for about a 7 to 8 inch spray thing but more importantly we want to see evenly weight it almost like a football shape where it's a little bit narrow on the top then it gets fatter and narrow again what you don't want to have which is what we're experiencing right now is it's a little bit top-heavy maybe on one side or another so what will happen is sometimes this here this little piece will be too tight sometimes you can just manipulate these front pieces right now I guarantee you this is on too tight which is squeezing the air cap and not letting it form fully so how far should your your arm be away from from whatever your spring well on the first coat which is the tech coat I'm gonna be a little bit farther away right about back here overlapping coat which is where all of our coats are going to be after that would be a little bit closer on this so maybe that's six boom look at that that looks freaking awesome I really love this steel blue or should I say blue steel this is looking really good especially on this car because this car with the old deep seat blue pearl it was a little too loud who's a little too bad for me that's more of a sporty thing this is very understated this is exactly what this car needs and it's very close to what the stock color of this car was it was like a midnight blue and that was a gloss this is a matte and I love this matte so what Gabe is doing over here he's actually putting on the dip topcoat what is that what it's called dip coat all right so dip coat is a protectant and it makes it so the elements and everything don't really affect this brand-new plastidip job and yeah so all you have to do is just just comes in a bottle and any spray it on just like just like any spray wax or something takes away the rubbery feel that dip has that's right all right so it takes away that rubbery feel and that's actually really important because you don't want anybody to all right I'm gonna go feel a section this was coated oh my god this is this is awesome this is really really smooth that all that rubbery texture that is completely gone guys I am I am really really digging this color I think we made the right decision by going with this steel blue I just look at that those exhaust there and everything so this is not the end of the episode I have to get this home we're gonna do some some more odds and ends just kind of drooling over this let's do another shot from the front oh yeah you guys ready to see the finished product well here she is look how good that looks so here she is this is all done all the details are in for the most part this blue steel or steel blue I can't remember which one it is this looks so good on this car and not just because it's a matte plastidip pearl but because it matches it actually matches quite well to the OEM paint which is like a midnight blue this oh my god this is what I was dreaming about when I first started this ultimate daily driver project the ultimate daily driver is done guys we finally we finally did it I finally finish the project and I couldn't be happier so one thing that I've noticed after driving it and getting it a little bit dirty because there was a bit of rain on the way home the plastidip is actually very very resilient now we did put a dip coat on and that makes it less rubbery it makes it more smooth and to be honest all I had to do was just wipe away some of the dirt and dust that I got from the three-hour trip and it's clean as a whistle so considering that this thing only dried about 45 minutes before I took the drive and got it wet and kind of dirty and everything this is incredibly incredibly resilient and I'm loving the finish on this I love the matte I love the quality of the job now one of the things I really love about plastidip is that it is completely DIY now you do have to take certain precautions and clean the car properly and make sure you put enough product on there and also mask the car properly but if you do that you can definitely get away with something like this in your garage and the best part about it is this is completely completely removable so a few of you have said in the previous episodes that I should clean my headlights the thing is with my headlights they're very old and as you can see there they're sort of there's some pitting and there's some weird stuff going on with the plastic so I'm just gonna replace this that headlight and this headlight is pretty ok it's a little bit yellow that could use a Polish but other than that this car is basically done I just have to get some of the maintenance work done I just have to get some of the trim done I haven't put in the weather stripping yet we have we removed that to do the plastidip I just wanted to see how this all looks but the build is complete and I don't know about you guys you guys can let me know in the comments but this thing I can't stop drooling over it let's take a look from the back the back is really really where it pops because I love those red and white tail lights and the back kind of sets it off oh yeah with the exhaust as well look at that that is just spectacular so if you're looking to do one of these jobs yourself and you have a car this size then you definitely want to get the large car kit you might even want to get the extra-large car cat just in case you mess up like I do but just know that this is an extremely DIY friendly job at dip your car calm they have all the things that you need they have basically a package of everything step by step and their YouTube channel is just full of instructionals and tutorials to get the look that you want for your car they have stuff that has gloss they have stuff that has matte like this they have pearl matte they have pearl gloss they have straight-up matte they have every single color Under the Sun well almost and that's why I keep coming back they're actually they also told me that my viewers can get 10% off if you put in the code to varnish at checkout and if you're looking at a DIY car kit for your car that actually is a pretty good savings frankly I wish I had that when I was doing it the first time but that is it for today's episode I hope you guys liked it I hope you guys enjoyed the transformation that we took from this cars past into the future well the present the really good looking present and also the future because this car is going up for sale quite soon I'm not sure who I'm gonna sell it to I have a lot of people interested in it but right now I'm still doing a few odds and ends and then it's gonna be out of here I want to give a big big big shout out to dip your car calm thank you very much Fonzie thank you Gabe thank you Adam all the people over there that made this possible you guys took a look at my channel and we got together and we did this thing and it'll freaking amazing so yeah thank you guys so much but the biggest shout out of all as always is you guys my lovely lovely viewers I couldn't have done it without you and I want you guys to tell me what you think of this s-class now that it is I'm not gonna say sleep respect but this is definitely more aggressive than has ever been and I love it and also this goes without saying but well this t-shirt is for sale if you want to let people know that you don't need a bumper-to-bumper warranty then yeah hit the link down below but until next time this is me telling you there on cars like this that have crazy transformations from stock to freakin awesome you guys it's a wrench every day youhow's it going guys my name is devar Sh and today we're dipping my about 45 minutes before I took the drive and got it wet and kind of dirty and everything this is incredibly incredibly resilient and I'm loving the finish on this I love the matte I love the quality of the job now one of the things I really love about plastidip is that it is completely DIY now you do have to take certain precautions and clean the car properly and make sure you put enough product on there and also mask the car properly but if you do that you can definitely get away with something like this in your garage and the best part about it is this is completely completely removable so a few of you have said in the previous episodes that I should clean my headlights the thing is with my headlights they're very old and as you can see there they're sort of there's some pitting and there's some weird stuff going on with the plastic so I'm just gonna replace this that headlight and this headlight is pretty ok it's a little bit yellow that could use a Polish but other than that this car is basically done I just have to get some of the maintenance work done I just have to get some of the trim done I haven't put in the weather stripping yet we have we removed that to do the plastidip I just wanted to see how this all looks but the build is complete and I don't know about you guys you guys can let me know in the comments but this thing I can't stop drooling over it let's take a look from the back the back is really really where it pops because I love those red and white tail lights and the back kind of sets it off oh yeah with the exhaust as well look at that that is just spectacular so if you're looking to do one of these jobs yourself and you have a car this size then you definitely want to get the large car kit you might even want to get the extra-large car cat just in case you mess up like I do but just know that this is an extremely DIY friendly job at dip your car calm they have all the things that you need they have basically a package of everything step by step and their YouTube channel is just full of instructionals and tutorials to get the look that you want for your car they have stuff that has gloss they have stuff that has matte like this they have pearl matte they have pearl gloss they have straight-up matte they have every single color Under the Sun well almost and that's why I keep coming back they're actually they also told me that my viewers can get 10% off if you put in the code to varnish at checkout and if you're looking at a DIY car kit for your car that actually is a pretty good savings frankly I wish I had that when I was
