A Concept Phone Reimagined: What Would You Want to See?
As I sit here thinking about the concept phone from Fast Company, I have to say that it's really interesting to think about what features would make this thing truly special. The idea of a USBC camera and a monochrome display is definitely something to consider. In fact, I think keeping the monochrome display like this concept would be perfect in every way. But adding some new features such as a little flashlight built-in, more battery life, indestructibility, and waterproofing would definitely make it stand out from other devices on the market.
I'm also curious about what people would want to see in terms of upgrades or changes to the original concept. Would you want to keep the monochrome display, or would you prefer a color screen? Would you want to add more features such as a fingerprint reader, facial recognition, or wireless charging? These are all questions that would need to be answered in order to create a truly great concept phone.
The Motorola Collaboration with Apple: A Piece of History
But what if I told you that this concept phone was actually the first iPhone ever created by Apple and Motorola? It's true. In 1997, Steve Jobs returned to Apple and began working on a project to create networked cyber cafes across the world. This idea was meant to revolutionize the way people experienced technology, but it ultimately never came to fruition. Instead, we got the first iPhone.
The concept phone in question is essentially a futuristic version of the iTunes phone that was announced by Steve Jobs about a year before the official iPhone release. It had an iTunes client built-in, allowing users to play iTunes music from their CD libraries or online stores directly on their phones. It's amazing to think about what could have been if this idea had actually come to fruition.
Cyber Cafes: A Forgotten Concept
Fast Company also released some alternate reality concepts for Apple's cyber cafe network. These concepts show a world where Apple Stores didn't exist, and instead, people flocked to futuristic cyber cafes across the country. The idea of these cafes was meant to be a hub for technological innovation and community building.
While we don't have any evidence that this concept ever came close to becoming a reality, it's certainly interesting to think about what could have been if Apple had pursued this idea. Instead, we got the Apple Stores that we know and love today.
LG Teases G6 with Durability Focus
LG has recently teased the upcoming G6 phone, which promises durability as its main focus. The phone will feature a beautiful display with a huge aspect ratio, curved corners, and almost no bezels. But what's really interesting is that LG is emphasizing the importance of pressure resistance, shock absorption, and water resistance.
I'm actually excited to see how this phone performs in terms of durability testing. I've recently dropped my last few phones without any major issues, so I'm curious to test out the G6 and see if it can withstand a beating. The fact that LG is putting so much emphasis on durability suggests that they're confident in their design, which is always a good sign.
Verizon's Unlimited Plan: A New Option for Subscribers
Verizon has recently brought back its unlimited plan for $80 per line, with 22GB of data included. While this isn't truly unlimited, it's still a great option for subscribers who want to avoid the overages that come with traditional plans. However, I'm not sure if I would take advantage of this plan myself.
As someone who has been tethered and used close to 30 gigs of data before without any issues, I'm not sure if this plan would be worth it for me. But for others, it could be a great option at $30 less than the previous unlimited plans. Of course, there are some caveats to consider, such as the potential impact on speeds and coverage in certain areas.
Nokia 3310 is Back: A Legendary Return
The Nokia 3310 has recently made its return to the market, and it's clear that this phone is a legendary device that many people will be excited to get their hands on. With its durability-focused design and classic feature set, it's no wonder why this phone is making a comeback.
I'm actually hoping to get my hands on one of these phones soon and put it through some durability testing to see how well it holds up. But for now, I'm just excited to have the opportunity to own this iconic device once again.
