Ford Has Stopped Making Trucks in America (and I Like It)

**Ford Temporarily Halts F-150 Production Due to Natural Gas Shortage**

In an unexpected turn of events, Ford has temporarily shut down production of its popular F-150 trucks at its plant in Kansas due to a shortage of natural gas. This isn't the first time the company has faced production challenges; earlier, they dealt with a chip shortage that slowed down manufacturing. However, this latest halt is due to the cold front that swept through the region, causing a surge in demand for natural gas to heat homes. As a result, the plant had no choice but to cease operations temporarily to ensure that enough natural gas remains available for residential heating.

The decision has been met with understanding from locals, who appreciate that keeping people warm takes priority over truck production. Ford's move highlights the delicate balance between industrial needs and public welfare during extreme weather conditions.

**Winter奇观:德克萨斯海滩上的滑雪**

In a surprising twist, snow recently fell on the beaches of Galveston, Texas, attracting skiers to the unusual scene. The sight was nothing short of bizarre—palm trees standing alongside snow-covered sand. While most residents were grappling with power outages caused by the cold, the Texas Medical Center maintained its power supply, ensuring that hospitals could continue operating without interruption.

Despite the chaos, it’s heartening to see that Ford took responsibility and halted production to prevent unnecessary strain on natural gas supplies, ensuring that families stayed warm during the freezing temperatures.

**车主分享:2000款GMC Yukon Denali的刹车问题**

A GMC Yukon Denali owner shared their experience with braking issues. The vehicle, now at 65,000 miles, exhibits a jerking motion when braking but no pulsation. After careful consideration, the likely culprit is identified as either bent rims or an imbalance in the tires. A trip to a reliable front-end shop for balancing and inspection is recommended.

The owner also mentioned rear drums being out of balance, which could cause such issues. However, since there's no pulsation, it’s less likely to be the rear drums. The advice emphasizes the importance of checking tire balance first, as high-speed balancing machines can reveal any issues with the rims or tires.

**购买一辆便宜的GMC Sierra 1500用于越野和露营是否明智?**

Thinking about purchasing a budget-friendly GMC Sierra 1500 for off-roading and camping? While it might seem like a good deal, there’s one critical component to inspect: the transmission. These vehicles often experience transmission issues by the time they reach 150,000 miles. A thorough inspection by a mechanic is essential to avoid costly repairs down the line.

The Sierra 1500's transmission can be problematic as it ages, with costs ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 for replacement. Potential buyers should exercise caution and ensure that the transmission is in good condition before making a purchase.

**关于 Mercedes C240 的故障与解决**

A 2002 Mercedes C240 owner faced an issue where the car wouldn't accelerate when stepping on the gas pedal, accompanied by ABS and ESP module errors. After some research, it was determined that the problem could be related to a faulty speed sensor or the ABS/ESP module itself.

The advice suggests replacing the speed sensor first, as it can sometimes cause communication issues with the main computer. If that doesn't resolve the issue, the ABS/ESP module may need replacement. However, this can be expensive due to reprogramming costs for Mercedes modules. The owner was lucky if the issue turned out to be a simple speed sensor problem.

**Nissan Titan的性价比分析**

Considering purchasing a 2008 Nissan Titan XE with 147,000 miles for $10,000? Experts advise that this is overpriced, especially given its mileage. While the vehicle might seem like a good deal, it’s not worth investing in without a guarantee of reliability.

In contrast, a Toyota Tundra would be a much better option at this price point. Known for their durability and longevity, a Tundra with similar mileage would be a far more reliable choice.

**氢能源:德克萨斯州的未来方向?**

Houston is making strides in hydrogen fuel cell technology, with 48 plants already extracting hydrogen from natural gas. However, the process is not without its challenges. Current methods produce significant carbon dioxide emissions, with nine parts of CO2 released for every one part of hydrogen.

Efforts are underway to develop more efficient electrolysis processes and find ways to utilize or sequester carbon dioxide. The success of these initiatives could make Houston a leader in clean energy production, particularly if they can find innovative uses for captured CO2.

**Jaguar Land Rover的电动转型计划**

In a move towards sustainability, Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to transition to all-electric vehicles by 2025. Owned by Tata Motors and with significant Chinese investment, the company is betting on electric vehicles to turn its fortunes around.

Critics remain skeptical, given Jaguar's historical reputation for unreliable electrical systems. If they're to succeed in the electric vehicle market, they’ll need to address their past issues with electronics and ensure their new models meet higher standards of reliability.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrev up your engines well ford's shutting down production of f-150s in kansas for a while now because of a shortage of gas before i remember they didn't have enough chips to build them well now it's natural gas to operate the plant that builds them because this cold front that just whipped through there's a only a limited amount of natural gas people need it to heat their houses so they're shutting their plant down so it's a good thing people around there in kansas aren't going to freeze to that so that they can build trucks now i found it rather humorous the other day in galveston texas they actually had snow on the beach dudes were skiing where i'd sit right the same exact place where i sat on the beach i saw these palm trees this was right where it's at and he had skis on the beach more than half of the city lost power but they didn't shut the power off to the texas medical center there because it's a hospital right so at least they didn't say oh ford you can keep building the trucks and let people freeze it's not a bad idea that they shut them down for that so everybody can stay nice and warm and toasty and not freeze to dust while ford's still making cars i think that was a pretty smart move on ford's behalf keep the populace warm and shut down your production for a week or so so you won't hog all the natural gas skull abyss says scotty i got a 2000 gmc yukon denali when i get 65 i can feel it shake i know the tires aren't bouncing the tire pressure is good front suspension are solid and the driveline's solid it gets 470 and 85 i think the rear drums are out of balance when i brake i fail a jerking motion while i break no pulsation though here is the thing it's almost impossible for you to check the tires if they're shaking at that speed you want to go to a good front-end shop first thing you wanted to do is check the tires and rims and make sure they're balanced correctly because more often than not that is a problem with either the rims are bent or they're out of balance and when the real alignment shops check that stuff they put your tire on a balancing machine that spins them real fast and it balances them at high speed so you'll know it's high speed they're balanced now i've seen things like that if if the rim was bent a little bit too much you'd either have to bend it back or get new rims because you can't compensate for too much being off if the wheel is bent itself the only way you're going to tell is by going to a good front end shop have put on the machine and spin the heck out of it even if you bought me one i'd put it on a bubble balance but you know that might not show it at higher speed so get that done first now if it doesn't yeah then i'd go and get new drums for the back what the heck you can get an auto zone or something cheap enough and replace the rear drums but generally if the rear drums are worn out around then yeah when you step on the brake the steering wheel won't shake but your brake pedal will pulsate you said it's not pulsating so i doubt it's that operator says i replace my vehicles with one scotty recommended i have a 2010 lexus rx 350 with 89k and a 2019 honda cre with 12 000 miles i know scotty's video is about gm's but i'm thinking about buying a cheap beater o2 gmc sierra 1500 for off-roading camping fun and something to wrench on nothing over 150 000 would that be a good idea okay actually it could be an okay idea back in o2 they made better vehicles and i've had people buy them used like that and get pretty good life span off there's only one thing you're going to check on that 1500 with a four-wheel drive you want a mechanic to go through that transmission with a fine-tooth comb generally on this floor by four fifteen hundreds when they reach 150 000 miles the transmission is on its way out or is breaking or will soon break so you want a guy like me to test it out not just for codes but to look at the actual data and road test it to see what's going on see if the adaptation values inside the transmissions are going a little bit off meaning that it's wearing out soon realize they're not going to trip a trouble coat till they get usually 25 off kilter but let's say now they're 15 off kilter that would show they have a lot of wear and then eventually it will need rebuilding and that's gonna cost you anywhere from three to six thousand dollars replacing that four-wheel drive automatic transmission that would be the main thing you'd worry about in that particular 1500 even an o2 they did have weak automatic transmissions as they age they'll wear down you'd want that checked out with a fine toothed cone arvin says scotty big fan i got an o2 mercedes c240 108 000 miles once in a while check engine light comes down with abs and esp and when i step on the gas pedal the car won't accelerate i wait a few minutes to start it up and it runs again last time it happened when the air is popped up po600 serial communication lincoln po 720 output speed sensor we're changing the abs esp module help okay first thing i would just change the speed sensor that could be feeding through short and the whole thing out pray it's that simple if that's bad you could get a serial communication error you want to pray it's that and not the module itself but if it's not the sensor yeah it's probably the module and pray it's not the main computer module too it's going to cost you a fortune because not only got to buy the module but it's got to re-reprogram to that mercedes and anybody that has the equipment and ability to do that in mercedes they're going to charge you up the wazoo reason not to buy a mercedes but prey is just that output speed sensor i have seen that happen because if that shorts out it can feed the whole way through and then you'd lose communication from the module to the main computer but they're very complex those mercedes some of them have over 100 separate modules and they all talk to each other and when they get old like that 19 years old who all bets are off especially now when it's really cold outside they can just go wonkers from the cold itself chances i'm watching your videos i'm looking to buy a used truck i can use on a daily basis what do you think about an 08 nissan titan xe automatic training with 147 000 miles for 10 grand way overpriced now they can be a decent vehicle they have an automatic jetco transmission yes in 2008 some of the new ones i saw a great one the other day it had a cummings diesel engine yours is an oh wait it's got a jetco automatic transmission and the jetco rear wheel drive on that truck they weren't that bad but with 147 000 miles no guarantee there's no way i'd pay 10 grand for that thing i had a guy the other day bomb one in town here he paid five and it was running okay but 10 that's way overpriced with no guarantee do not pay that kind of money for that truck with that kind of mileage that's 13 years old it is not worth that kind of money now on the other hand if that had been a toyota tundra i'd say go and buy it right now snap that baby up they'll go four or five hundred thousand miles yeah i'd snap it up yeah but not on that titan i'd go much lower much lower gaseto says scotty i got a 99 nissan hardbody when i stop the motor the power steering fluid comes out leaks of the reservoir cap it only leaks when the engine's off okay you got something backing up pressure now if it steers perfectly fine you don't have any problems but it just goes up my advice is i would replace the high pressure hose because it could be it's collapsing and it's building up pressure when you shut off and it pops through the pump now the only other thing i ever saw do that was the pump itself if the pump was breaking down while you're driving it the pressure goes pretty good but when you shut it off the pressure that's still there will come back through the pump that you could need a new pump but i changed the hose first because they'll often get restricted and the pressure's in there and rather than pushing the whole way through when you shut it off then it's not pumping that way anymore and it builds up pressure and the clogged hose will come back and bubble out through the pump i've seen that a lot well i just saw an interesting article about my hometown houston that hydrogen may soon be the future for them because of course with hydrogen fuel cell cars you can use it it's cleaner energy even if you just burn the hydrogen one third of the u.s production of hydrogen's already done around houston and 48 separate plants that extract hydrogen from natural gas hydrogen pipelines are 1600 miles and storage facilities and all the oil and gas guys they're not stupid they got a lot of money and they're seeing high now it's used industrially but of course the problem today is most of the natural gas is not clean it's dirty natural gas which is called gray natural gas they use an ultimate create an awful lot of pollution when they do it like for every nine parts of carbon dioxide that they give off they only get one part of hydrogen so it's extremely inefficient process that actually in itself pollutes with carbon dioxide so they're going to try to make ways that they can sequester the carbon dioxide you know they even have some of those salt domes in texas they're thinking about oh well we'll fill them with carbon dioxide or somebody can figure out a way to make something out of the carbon dioxide and of course there's people that are working at more efficient ways to use electrolysis to create hydrogen from either natural gas or sea water it'd be kind of interesting and you've got all this natural gas and it does burn cleaner but if you can turn the natural gas into the hydrogen and use the hydrogen and fuel cells there wouldn't be any pollution at all understand that if you burn hydrogen of course it's going to pollute just like burning gasoline it's cleaner but it still pollutes but if they can get away to get the hydrogen out of natural gas then they can use the natural gas without burning it that would be a big thing and of course these guys in houston i knew a bunch of them they're not fools they're businessmen they're billionaires all over the place there if anybody's going to figure out a way how to make money out of it it's going to be those guys in houston let me tell you here we go jaguar says they're going to transition to all electric vehicles and that land rovers are going to go majority electric now jaguar land rover is one company now and it's owned by tata the indians but the chinese also own a reasonable percentage of it too and a short while back they were talking about maybe they should just get rid of jaguar they're not making any money and just keep land rover because people are buying those giant land rovers even though they're rolling piles of junk there's no accounting for taste or intelligence with people there's arguing that now they say the shift of electric cars tata motors that owns jaguar says the shift is going to begin in 2025. so four years from now theoretically the shift to all electric is going to begin so i wouldn't be holding my breath on any of that but i find it rather amusing because anybody who knows cars knows that jaguars have amongst the worst electrical systems in the world we used to joke about them back in the day mechanics called them the prince of darkness because you'd be driving a jaguar and the lights should go out at night because the electrical systems weren't too good decades later they're going to only make electric cars let's hope that they upgrade their electronics better than they have because when i work on jaguars i see nothing but electrical problems with those things i mean that's their big downfalls their electrical systems are garbage and if they're gonna make all electric cars maybe they'll turn and make all electric cars it'll be just like their regular cars they'll be the worst reliable ones on the planet maybe they'll keep inside we want to keep jaguar's image going so we'll still make the cars that fall apart all the time otherwise it wouldn't be a jaguar or otherwise they say jaguar if you really want to be a snob just like the porsche guys it's not pushed push well what's in the name you know junk is still junk so if you never want to miss another one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that bell foreign\n"
