OnePlus 3 vs Galaxy S7 SPEED TEST Comparison

**Detailed Speed Test Comparison: OnePlus 3 vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge**

Welcome to another episode of Super Saf TV’s detailed speed test comparison! In this video, we’re putting two powerful smartphones head-to-head: the **OnePlus 3** and the **Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge**. We’ll be testing them in various real-world scenarios, including camera launches, fingerprint scanner speeds, app performance, gaming capabilities, and RAM management multitasking tests. Let’s dive right into the details!

---

### Introduction and Setup

Before we start, let’s clarify a few things:

- **Versions Used**: I’m using the **Exynos version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge** for this test.

- **Key Focus**: One thing I’m particularly interested in seeing is how the **2GB extra RAM on the OnePlus 3** will impact its performance compared to the S7 Edge.

- **Sponsorship Note**: If you like the skins I’m using on both devices, check out our sponsor for this episode, **dbrand**. They offer a wide range of customizable smartphone skins, and I’ve included a link in the description below.

---

### Software and Benchmark Tests

To keep things fair, both devices are running the latest software available at the time of filming, with no settings tweaked—this is how you’d get them out of the box.

- **Geekbench 3 Results**:

- The **OnePlus 3** scores higher on **single-core performance**.

- The **Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge**, however, edges out in **multi-core performance**.

---

### Fingerprint Scanner Speed Test

I’ve done a separate video on fingerprint scanner speeds before, but here’s a quick recap:

- The **OnePlus 3**’s fingerprint scanner is slightly faster compared to the **Galaxy S7 Edge**.

- Double pressing the standby button on the OnePlus 3 launches the camera faster than double-pressing the home button on the S7 Edge.

---

### Camera Launch Test

Testing camera launch times:

- **OnePlus 3**: Double press the standby button.

- **Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge**: Double press the home button.

When slowed down, both devices launched their cameras almost simultaneously. It was a neck-and-neck race!

---

### App Performance Tests

Let’s test how quickly each device opens apps:

1. **BBC News (Chrome)**:

- Both devices started with no previous apps open.

- Opening BBC News in Chrome showed that the **Galaxy S7 Edge finished first**.

- However, when going into the first story, the **OnePlus 3 finished slightly faster**.

2. **Instagram**:

- Opening Instagram simultaneously resulted in a tie.

- Navigating to my profile page and opening an image also showed no significant difference between the two devices.

3. **YouTube**:

- The homepage loaded similarly on both devices.

- When testing with a specific subscription feed, the **OnePlus 3 started playing the video ever so slightly quicker**.

4. **Twitter**:

- Both devices performed well, but the **OnePlus 3 was marginally faster** when refreshing the feed.

---

### Gaming Performance Tests

Let’s move on to gaming performance:

1. **Temple Run 2**:

- The **Galaxy S7 Edge loaded the game first**, finishing ahead of the OnePlus 3.

2. **Subway Surfer**:

- Again, the **S7 Edge was quicker** in loading this 3D game.

3. **Dead Trigger 2**:

- The **Galaxy S7 Edge took the win** here as well, with faster load times.

4. **Unkilled (another 3D game)**:

- The **S7 Edge continued to dominate**, showing better performance in loading these graphically intensive games.

5. **Asphalt 8**:

- A more graphically demanding game.

- The **Galaxy S7 Edge finished first, with the OnePlus 3 trailing by a few seconds**.

6. **Real Boxing to the Rocky Edition**:

- This was a close one.

- The **OnePlus 3 finished ever so slightly faster**, though both devices performed impressively.

---

### RAM Management and Multitasking Tests

To test RAM management, we left all previous apps running in the background and opened additional games:

- **Background Apps**: Both devices struggled equally when reloading apps like Chrome, Instagram, YouTube, and Temple Run 2.

- **Games**: When opening Asphalt 8 and Real Boxing, both devices had to reload these games upon returning to them.

---

### Final Thoughts

After running through all these tests, here’s what I found:

- For **graphically intensive games**, the **Galaxy S7 Edge** performed better overall.

- In terms of **RAM management**, neither device stood out as particularly excellent. However, the **OnePlus 3 managed to keep a few smaller apps open in the background**, while the S7 Edge had to reload almost everything.

---

This concludes our article based on the full transcription of the video.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up YouTube saf you're on super saf TV and welcome to the detail speed test between the OnePlus 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge so in the usual style we'll be doing lots of real world speed tests everything from the camera launch to the fingerprint scanners to your daily usage apps as well as some gaming apps and then finishing off with some RAM management multitasking tests now before we start to clarified that I have the xus version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge here and what I'm definitely Keen to see is is how the 2 GB extra of ram help the OnePlus 3 in this test also if you like the skins that I'm using on both devices here then definitely go ahead and check out our sponsor for this episode which is dbrand they've got a huge selection of skins on their website to customize the look of your smartphone and I'll leave a link to them in the description below so definitely do go ahead and check them out now another thing to mention is that the software on both devices is the latest available at the time of this video and to keep things as as Fair as possible no settings have been tweaked this is how you're going to be getting both devices out of the box so getting benchmarks out the way you can see here on geekbench 3 that the OnePlus 3 does score higher on the single core performance but the S7 Edge does score higher on the multi-core performance now I've done a fingerprint scanner speed test in a previous video so definitely do go ahead and check that out but in summary I did find the OnePlus 3 fingerprint scanner a little bit faster compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge now moving on to to the camera launch test you can double press the home button on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to launch the camera now with the OnePlus 3 there's actually a few different ways you could do this but the fastest I found was to double press the standby button so let's go ahead and do this and it was pretty much neck and neck let's slow this down and you can see that both of them launched the camera at pretty much the same time now let's move on to the app test so as you can see here no previous apps are open and let's go into Chrome and open the BBC News website and it did finish first on the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge here we'll accept cookies and let's go into the first story and this time it finished first on the OnePlus 3 so we'll leave both of these open let's go back and now we'll try our Instagram so opening both at the same time that was pretty much instant so I think that was a bit of a draw going onto my profile page again exactly the same now opening an image pretty much the same once again so it's very very close so far now we'll leave this open and let's go on to YouTube now the homepage of YouTube is loading up different content so we can't really test this now let's go into my subscription feed so we'll open up this video from my buddy highi on pocket now and it did start playing first on the OnePlus three ever so slightly quicker now we'll move on to Twitter so going in 3 2 1 and I believe it was ever so slightly quicker on the OnePlus 3 but very very close still now we'll leave these open now let's try some games out so tempo run 2 initially now we'll speed this up so we don't have to waste too much of your time and it did finish first on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge we'll play games on both of these and we'll leave them running in the background now moving on so we'll try Subway Surface now again these games are 3D but not as intensive as some of the games but let's just build this up and finish first on the S7 Edge so the S7 Edge is seeming to be quicker here in terms of loading up the games we'll try Dead Trigger 2 once again first on the S7 Edge we'll play the game both at the same time and the S7 Edge takes the win for up the game now we'll leave this open and let's move on to another 3D game so we'll use unkilled this time and the S7 Edge once again taking the win so for loading up games it is seeming to be um quite a bit faster now what we'll do is we'll take a bit of a break and let's see if all of the previous are open so going into Chrome firstly same place where we left it moving on to Instagram exactly the same place where we left them so both doing pretty well so far going on to YouTube yep the videos are there and we can start playing them all well and good here now we'll go on to Twitter in the same place we'll refresh the feed here just so we've got it moving on to Temple Run 2 in the same place Subway serf exactly where we left it Dead Trigger 2 in the same place and finally unkilled also in the same place so they've both been doing well so far in terms of RAM management but now let's push them even further with some more games so we're going to try Asphalt 8 and it finished first here on the S7 Edge quite a bit faster actually the 1pl 3 coming in a few seconds behind and for the final test let's try out real boxing to the rocky Edition as you guys know I am a big fan of Rocky let me know in the comment section below if you guys are too and this time it actually finished ever so slightly faster on the OnePlus 3 and here's for the real test so let's see how much of the apps in the background are still open so going on to Chrome ooh both are having to reload the page so not looking so great here now let's go on to Instagram okay OnePlus 3 had Instagram open but we did have to reload it on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge going on to YouTube seems like both had to reload here so playing the video slightly faster on the OnePlus 3 now let's go on to Twitter so and it is reloading here on the S7 edge trying out Temple Run 2 both are having to reload now let's go into Subway Surface 2 again this is having to reload now I'm going to just speed through this because every single one of these apps had to reload when we went back into them so took about six games to knock out the RAM management and every single one of these games on both devices had to be reloaded so there we have it the detail speed test between the OnePlus 3 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge I think both did really well overall and to summarize I would say that for opening up the more graphically intensive games the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge did do better overall but when it came to RAM management neither were too good but the OnePlus 3 did have some of those more smaller apps open in the background compared to the S7 Edge which had to reload pretty much everything so some interesting results here and let me know in the comment section below what you thought of these results I hope you enjoyed this video if you thought if you did then please do hit that thumbs up button for me really just help me out and if you haven't already then be
