The Samsung Note 5: A Comprehensive Review
As we begin our review of the Samsung Note 5, it's essential to note that this device has undergone significant changes since its initial release. The Note 5 is now manufactured in India by Samsung, a departure from previous models which were imported from Vietnam.
Upon first glance, the device appears sleek and sophisticated, with a gray color option that is both stylish and practical. The packaging of the device includes a comprehensive user guide, warranty card, and SAR certification. Notably, the warranty is only valid in India, a crucial consideration for consumers in this region.
The accessory kit provided with the device includes a standard set of earphones, a power brick with quick charging capabilities, and a SIM ejector tool. The earphones are similar to those found in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 H, while the power brick offers both fast and regular charging options. It's worth noting that the device supports quick charging at 5V/2A for normal devices and up to 9V/1.67A for fast-charging compatible devices.
For those unfamiliar with the Note 5, here are its key specifications: The device is powered by the same Exynos octacore processor found in the Samsung Galaxy S6, but now with 4GB of RAM. It also supports Fast Wireless Charging and features a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with improved video stabilization options. The front-facing camera measures 5 megapixels, while the device's body is constructed from metal and glass.
In terms of physical design, the Note 5 boasts a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, which provides excellent viewing capabilities. The device also features a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, which works seamlessly. Additionally, the device includes two touch-type capacitive buttons below the screen. Overall, the device's design is both functional and visually appealing.
One area worth noting is the issue with fingerprints on the black variant of the device. The titanium gray color option seems to be less prone to fingerprint marks. On the other hand, the 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen provides an excellent viewing experience, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming.
The camera performance of the Note 5 is also worth mentioning. While we've already reviewed the camera capabilities of this device in a previous video, it's essential to note that the results are consistently impressive. The rear-facing camera is particularly notable for its improved video stabilization options.
As part of our review process, we'll be testing the battery life on this Indian retail unit for an extended period. This will provide valuable insights into the device's endurance and help us determine whether it meets your expectations.
In conclusion, the Samsung Note 5 offers a unique blend of performance, features, and design that make it an attractive option for those seeking a high-end smartphone experience. While there are some minor drawbacks to consider, such as the limited availability of certain colors and the lack of IR Blaster, the device's overall value proposition makes it well worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the unboxing for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and I have this in this new color that is silver titanium and if you've been following me you'll be wondering why am I doing the unboxing because I have already done that and this is my personal unit of the Note 5 but the thing is that this Note 5 is not an Indian retail unit uh this was imported from Dubai but this is the Indian retail unit and uh this is a review unit that was sent to me by Samsung and one interesting thing that I immediately noticed is that uh it says that this unit was actually manufactured here in India and this is the new silver titanium color uh we have the regular uh what do you say this safire black uh I'll show you one more color that they have I have the S6 Edge in that golden color we'll have a look at that one and again here it says that it accepts Indian SIM cards only uh it's a software lock but but it's a temporary lock you have to just use an SIM for 5 minutes uh and it will be unlocked so let me break the seal and we continue so here we have the box and let me open this and as you can see this is the 32 GB variant and the thing with the note series is that now they don't have a micro SD card so you have to be aware for example uh so yeah definitely it is having that gray color as you can see let me peel this off and right away away one interesting thing that I see is here if you again notice uh it says that uh it is made in India by Samsung so that is very interesting that was not the case with this one you can hardly see this but here on this black one that was imported it says Made in Vietnam so Samsung is making this Note 5 in India and uh look at the accessories let me just take this out and the model name um is actually n20g uh the international one that I have this is my personal unit is the N20 I so a quick start guide as you can see n20g is the specific model number that we get so warranty card and SAR certification uh let's look at the SAR values and here it just specifies the head value that is 0.314 I'm surprised that Samsung is not listing the body s value so let me keep these things to the side and again regarding the warranty it says that clearly says that the warranty is only valid in India so you should be aware of that and this is the Sim ejector tool you'll require this to put in the SIM card and this is for the extra tips for the S Pen uh again uh we are getting the earphones but again they are in the Box this is the same one that we are getting with the S6 and the S6 H and we have the power brck which has quick charging uh so it does support quick charging and regular charging if you use a normal phone uh it'll output at 5 volts at 2 amps but if your device supports fast charging it can output at 9 volts at 1.67 amps so let me keep these things to the side and by now everyone must be knowing the specs of the Note 5 but if you don't know here are the specs the Note 5 is powered by the same exos octacore processor that was powering the Samsung Galaxy S6 but now we have 4 GB of RAM it also supports the new Fast wireless charging but now the battery is sealed inside it has a 16 map rear facing camera with improved video stabilization option and also a front-facing 5 megap camera and the entire chases is enclosed in metal and glass on the Note 5 and I won't go over a boot up or stuff because I've already done that in my other video let me give you a physical overview on the top we have this Slaughters for this SIM card uh Sly you'll notice that we don't have IR Blaster this is the secondary noise canc ation microphone uh the power button and again the body is entirely made up of metal and on the back we have the 16 map rear facing camera the camera is actually really good I've already done the review with my earlier Note 5 and the camera performance was very good we have the heart rate sensor LED notification flat uh the Samsung branding and here it gives your IMI number and it says Made in India again this is completely made up of glass as you can see let me bring my Note 5 uh again I feel that the black color is more of a fingerprint magnet this hides this color actually hides uh the fingerprints a little bit again you will see some fingerprints and on the uh front we have a 5 megapixel front- facing camera earpiece LED notification light sensors that 5.7 in super amlet screen and we also have a fingerprint scanner embedded and it works really well and uh we also have the two touch type capacitive buttons uh so guys I have already posted a lot of other videos on the Note 5 links for those videos will be in the show notes you can check them out and regarding the colors as I mentioned uh this one is the titanium gray this is the safire black uh I don't have the Note 5 and the golden variant this is the S6 H+ so this should give you an idea regarding the colors that are available on the Note 5 so do let me know in the comment section which color do you think is the best I've already spent about 3 weeks with the Note 5 so what I'll do is I'll be testing the battery life on this Indian retail unit for the next uh week or so and then come out with my full in-depth review and again don't forget to watch my other videos on the Note 5 thanks for watching this is Ranjit and I hope to see you in
