A Day in Zermatt: Skiing, Exploration, and Dining

As we arrived in Zermatt, I couldn't help but feel excited for our skiing adventure. We started by taking a closed Gondola and then a regular chair lift, which took us to the top of the mountain. The first mountain we went to had two different sides, which were perfect for intermediate skiers like me. Although the runs were not very steep, they were long enough to provide a great challenge. I was able to take breaks whenever I needed to, and my fellow skier, Darren, was also enjoying himself.

One of the highlights of our day was when we came across a vertical drop on one of the slopes. While it seemed daunting at first, I wasn't feeling up for it, so I decided to take a break and grab a snack from the restaurant instead. Darren, on the other hand, went ahead and skied down that challenging slope, which left me impressed with his skills. After finishing our runs, we returned our ski gear and stopped by Coop, which is a unique store in Zermatt with locations ranging from grocery stores to department stores. I picked up some new brow pencils while exploring the various shops and alleys of this charming town.

As the day went on, my appetite began to grow, and I knew we would be heading back to that Indian restaurant with five-star ratings on TripAdvisor. The reviews had piqued my interest, and I was excited to try it out. And boy, was I not disappointed! Our expectations were high, but the food exceeded them in every way.

After dinner, we decided to explore more of Zermatt, taking a stroll around Boot City and stopping by the Matterhorn Museum, which turned out to be closed due to the off-season timing. Although it was a shame that it wasn't open, the museum's underground location was quite unique and interesting. We made the most of our time exploring this beautiful town before settling in for the night at our hotel.

As we settled into our evening routine, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience Zermatt's unique charm. The town is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like ourselves, with plenty of opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. While there aren't many other activities available in this ski town, its laid-back atmosphere makes up for it. With the exception of a few shops that stay open later in the evening, most businesses close between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.

As I reflect on our day in Zermatt, I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's adventure in Lucerne. Associated we're both car sick or motion sick and it feels very nice to kind of be moving a little slower now but it's together I found it quite hard quite lovely hey guys welcome back to my Channel or if you're new here welcome I'm Brooke I'm a travel lifestyle and DIY videos today I am kicking off the video in Zermatt so right now we are in southern Switzerland so it took us about a four and a half hour drive to get here and we had a bit of an event this morning basically we got we made it to our train the first train and then we got off on the correct stop and then someone overheard us I'm talking about what stop we were at and they told us we were at the wrong stop so we panicked immediately got back on the train and ended up at a different stop we got lost we missed our connections we end up going back to the hotel and we almost did not come to Vermont today so we ended up having to just figure everything out again however we ended up hiring a private transfer basically you just hired a driver to drive us here which honestly ended up being a lot better and a really really cool experience it was super windy roads though so we both did get a little motion sickness but we have made it it is beautiful here it is snow flocked everywhere and I am so excited to be bringing you guys along here so if you haven't already don't forget subscribe below give me a big thumbs up and let's get into it so right when you enter the room you have an area to put your boots and your coats you have robes and we immediately enter into the main area so right here we have our bed full length mirror little Cubbies night lights and we have two closets so we have some shelves a safe and then in this one this is where you can hang everything and then we have this absolutely beautiful view we'll go out there in just a minute we have yeah legit they have kindling wood yeah we have a full-on fireplace they it was like a gas slip fire that's like a legit fire no they trust us with fire I feel honored because I wouldn't trust people of fire um we have couch nice little carpet area TV coffee maker little desk mini fridge and then right here you can see into the bathroom but you do so this is glass but they do have a little blind that you can put up that way you can enjoy the view if you want or you can enjoy your privacy instead now coming into the bathroom so right off the living room and from the front door we have the Big Tub sink sink all of the products bathroom do love that they have a door on that and a very spacious shower and now let's head outside I do love that also on the little bench they also have Cubbies like the amount of storage they have here is awesome all right let's head outside oh wow so we have our own little private balcony here on little chairs so we can enjoy our coffee out here in the morning wow look at this and here's the rest of the hotel we are just nestled in we are just nestled into the Mountainside absolutely beautiful and when it clears up we actually do have a view of the Matterhorn and I although it's covered by clouds I believe this one right here is the Matterhorn this is beautiful at night this is going to be absolutely magical so this is where they don't allow any regular cars they do have some electric cars that are local and so that's how you can get Transportation around the city but the little cars are so tiny they're actually really cute I'll show you guys when we go into town but it's kind of funny watching all these like miniature cars go around but anywho we are going to get settled here and then we are going to go explore oh interesting they have little foot holders so you can go up here and enjoy the snow interesting okay so I'm about to get ready unfortunately my hair did not last I curled it and like more than half of it has just like Fallen straight which is frustrating but that's okay I'm gonna Spruce that up before we go into town um but I wanted to pop in and tell you guys how freaking excited I am to be here so when we were like this city is basically the entire reason we came to Europe in winter so I've seen photos of this town at night and with the no cars and just all the old wooden buildings and everything this town looks like a little Christmas card or a Christmas Town you know those little tiny Christmas towns that people put um on like their kitchen tables and stuff this literally looks like it and this is the entire reason I wanted to come to Europe during winter so this city is what started the entire planning of this trip so when I say I'm excited to be here you guys I am so freaking excited to be here I'm also really excited to go to Amsterdam but I would say this is the number one city that I was stoked about coming to so all right I'm gonna get ready really fast because like I'm so eager to explore okay we are all bundled up look at all the snow out there we've got our hot hands I brought an entire case of hot hands 40 pairs we're only here for a total of like two weeks well I thought we needed the entire case I don't know but um it's fine because we're gonna be warm so now we're trying to figure out how on Earth to get outside because it's kind of like a maze in this Hotel so we'll figure this out so we get to walk out of the same really cool tunnel that we drove in from so here's our hotel in the tunnel we just came out of look how beautiful this water is like you can just see how blue it is that is crazy okay these are like the size of the little cars driving around here and they're all electric scenes little cars they look like kind of like Disneyland Cars okay so now to try to find a restaurant we do have a bistro right here but we're gonna explore so we did not eat before we came here and it's now like 2 p.m so actually it's like 3 P.M so we are starving Darren getting the content he's getting the content because the Matterhorn is right that is that it nope I think right back there yeah so exploring seeing what's around here but you guys I'm so excited to be here oh and I wonder I'm cold I'm holding my gloves instead of wearing them so we just found the little downtown area got some snow plows coming through and I think this is probably where we're going to be able to find a restaurant foreign we found a restaurant how to okay looks like how do we open the door out of all the raviolis I've tried here I haven't had pesto that sounds so good but I've decided that I'm done with my my ravioli tour so I think I'm gonna get that spicy pasta that Darren got yesterday which is this one it was really good so I got bruschetta and I ended up getting a fusilli with eggplant zucchini and tomato and then Darren got a capri salad and then he got escargot but everything looks and smells amazing and then the beer that and then the beer that we got is from Vermont and it's called the Matterhorn how cute is that I would say that restaurant was pretty good I mean there might be better here it was like pretty standard nothing super crazy yes hit the spot I drink I drank that entire liter of water by myself we're not drinking water here yeah I only drink like a gallon a day and here we've had maybe 20 ounces a day so I think we're also severely dehydrated so let me just tell you I thought I was getting sick after drinking that liter of water I'd go back to normal I think this entire time that I thought I was getting sick I was just dehydrated my body was shutting down so good is we are hydrated we are fueled and so now we are just continuing down the Main Street and exploring seeing what they have there are a ton of shops and such and I'm really excited I'm excited too let's go see what we can find okay so Darren's in here looking at some watches but I just found this cute little chocolate shop and look how cool this is these are like sheets of chocolate Wild they're like full on sheets of like different types of like bark wow so cool look how magical this is just mountains with snow on them Christmas tree this is just it's beyond anything I don't know if you can see all of the Christmas lights all the way down let's see if we can zoom in here okay so I zoomed in and just look at this like a winter wonderland it's insane this Coop thing it's basically like I think it's like a clothing store there are Cosmetics I guess it's like a department store and they have them everywhere like just in Vermont alone and we've already seen two of them they are like every few blocks um in Zurich and I think it's just kind of a thing around here oh my gosh even as the sun goes down it this place just becomes more and more magical Okay so we've been walking around we decided that we are going to go snowboarding tomorrow because that's always been Darren's dream Swiss Alps here we come yes so um we went to North Face and picked Aaron up a snowboarding jacket I brought mine I had I had a feeling you know um and then we got some like snow gloves and then we went to another shop and rented our snowboards and boots for tomorrow and the shop is super conveniently placed it's right by the gondola so right where we need to go up to go to the mountain it's like two businesses away from from that area so perfect place and then we did get some pins Darren go to watch oh yeah I gotta watch for my grandpa because I've wanted to get a watch for my grandpa from Switzerland so that's where all watches are made for all the good ones yeah all the notable ones and so he was able to get that we are looking for a Christmas ornaments so far I'm finding a lot of cowbell Christmas ornaments yeah and there's a Cow restaurant too I'm thinking this place is known for cows well I haven't seen a cow since we've been up here I mean maybe it's kind of now maybe that's more like of his history maybe they uh hibernate up here I don't think that's a thing but anywho so now we are walking around exploring we're slowly going to be making our way back to the hotel where we are going to be getting a glass of wine building a fire in our room and just hanging out so things are pretty like they're dead now I think now it's probably about dinner time for everyone we eat pretty early compared to like Europeans and such so pretty much how we have the whole place to ourselves so I'm sorry so oh I know I was gonna say there's a ornament shop in there you keep them walking away when you record I'm like trying to wait I'm a gal on the Go Guys I'm a gallon ago um I think these oh no no look right here to the left these are all okay so actually this would actually be really cool oh this is exciting okay so we're gonna find our coffee table books what is that I don't I think this is a gopher so Tonight Darren is the elected pack mule typically I am however today he is because the bag is so big and I'm so short that when I carry it the bottom drags on the ground so I've put him to work well honestly you offered but um anywho so we just came acrossed my hands we found this beautiful I'm assuming it's a church oh my gosh look at this fountain it's Fountain is really cute okay so these are groundhogs right yeah these look like what they lift up on Groundhog Day okay so they must be known for groundhogs because these things are like everywhere so all of these fountains are like fresh drinking water so you can just fill up your water ball at these and then they have a little Museum down here oh that's cool maybe we'll go visit that tomorrow oh it looks like Darren has found something what have you found squirrel squirrel guys should we get it well it's closed but I mean maybe we'll come back tomorrow oh this place is super cute elsies all of the places here are super cute oh my gosh just everywhere you look it's just like beautiful winter just like Wonderland Vibes I mean look at the tiny Christmas trees and these are like real trees up there they're not like fake decoration okay more of these groundhogs okay they've got to be a thing they've got to be so maybe maybe that's our goal we're gonna try to find a real groundhog while we're here oh the history okay ever since 1981 the founder Andreas Schmidt has been fascinated by the marmot it's a remedy for uh Rheumatic illness oh my God they sell their fats and oils Harvest them they kill him and get the fats and oils off what is oh oh my God these guys are I am appalled look they even have a big stuffed animals I wonder if they have to yeah they have to kill them they're fat oh my gosh I'm so sorry my dear friend literally everywhere we go I'm just like this is this is so like vibey and cozy and cute like this belongs in a Hallmark movie like I can't even handle it and like actually really cool let's walk past and very sneakily creep record people as they eat so I'll come back and get it in better lighting tomorrow oh actually you can see what's going on it's like almost pitch black out here I'm very surprised I don't know what's going on suddenly my camera is like great quality um but all of these homes are like original Timber and these are some of the most historic homes there's an entire Street of them that we passed through earlier on our way here um to be quite honest with you we are completely lost right now so we are like very much lost right now um but we're just like wandering about like I feel like this is a low crime area if I had to guess I don't know I'm making all of this up you guys I don't know what setting I have my camera on right now um but I must have accidentally changed it because literally anytime after like the slightest amount of sunset my camera's like pitch black which is why I usually switch to my phone um it's full night time right now and for some reason you guys can see me I don't I don't know what's going on but this is like the best thing that's ever happened to me right now the best thing so now we're with all the snow walking along I am happy as a clamp you know I was starting to feel like it was Overkill that I packed my snowshoes and like snow gear but like I packed it for this you know packed it for this so anyway we're gonna keep exploring show you guys if we find anything else exciting otherwise I'll see you guys back at the hotel okay so we are coming back and I'm ready to show you guys how cool our freaking hotel is okay so you can't really see it but that building at the tip Tip Top poking out on the left that is the top of our hotel but we are going to enter through this cave so let's go look at it and again our hotel is right next to the beautiful like Little River and the water is so brilliant blue I mean you can still kind of tell how blue it is I'm taking a water bottle tomorrow and filling it up because the water here is way better than the bottled water yeah okay here is our hotel I I don't even think you guys are ready like I so excited like going back to the hotel is such an exciting experience okay okay here we go and then from there we have our elevator to the hotel and they have a collection of different wines well they are really promoting the wine here isn't that so cool though the entrance is the coolest thing I have ever freaking seen like out of every Hotel well there goes a room key so we just came up to the bar and we decided to sit outside despite the fact that it is 12 degrees Fahrenheit right now do you have a little heating system out here so it's not too bad so we have a beautiful view and over here these tables you have a perfect view of the Matterhorn you can kind of oh my gosh you can see it right now oh my God that's so cool okay so you have like the perfect view obviously during daytime it's probably a little better but you also have a beautiful view of all of zuman look at that Christmas Town vibes oh my gosh and today was the first time it snowed in like a week so everything is like freshly flocked did you ever think you'd be opting to sit outside in 12 degree weather no but I think you're comfortable because I have my gloves on and this jacket is so warm you literally have sweating in it look how like thick this jacket is but you know what like what I realized is I could just wear thermals under here I don't have to wear a sweatshirt so these it's a different brand than hot hands but it basically is hot hands I got them at Costco and I was telling you guys I got 40 like two packs and I was we hadn't used them yet so I was thinking we wouldn't but you guys it is like I mentioned it is 12 degrees here so tomorrow we go snowboarding we're gonna put one in each of our gloves and then we're gonna put one in each of our pant Pockets so actually we might fly through all 40 pairs thank you foreign well good morning it's about 7 30 and boy do I have something to show you look at this view are you ready wow a perfectly clear morning and look at that view of the Matterhorn I'm going to bring you in for even closer wow this is incredible which also means when we get to the top of the mountain for our sightseeing of the Matterhorn we're gonna have a perfect view of it I am so excited but before I shower and get ready I just wanted to show you guys like look at this look at this city wow just can you even believe this is real I I can't I can't even believe this is real good morning this is so beautiful now you can kind of see just how blue it is and then of course just that incredible view of the Matterhorn so right now we're on our way to the train station that's where they have the gondolas up to the um like the viewing area of the Matterhorn and up there from my research they have like a bar a small restaurant and things like that and then you can take photos with the gorgeous Matterhorn in the background and then we're gonna come down get our snowboarding stuff and then head back go up a different like lift area thing that's going to take us up where the skiing and snowboarding is so that's the plan we've got our whole get up so mine is all white and I'm loving it I'm wearing this like beige turtleneck under and with my uh my big coat open it reminds me so much of those photos of uh Lady Gaga for the house is focused yetis for the house of Gucci um like the Billboards for that it super reminds me of it so I want to take a picture like that with the Matterhorn in the background and then Darren's wearing his new coat yeah let me see your little your little fit oh oh I don't know oh yeah we are ready to rock and roll it's about nine o'clock right now took our time getting ready I actually was able to sleep more than four hours last night so I slept like six and a half so I'm feeling fantastic it's like best day of my life feeling great I don't know why this is focusing on everything except for me there we go okay so passing the little bar we got a drink at last night and heading back to uh that little Main Street that we were at yesterday so we have Christmas trees for sale look how small they are I mean I guess you know there's not a ton of space here to begin with all right what has been your favorite part of either the city or Switzerland overall the city because there's no that's true um like zerk is really cool but I wouldn't want to go there for more than like three days because really all there is to do there is a Chocolate Factory and then also just shopping if you like shopping they have everything there from designer all the way down to like North Face like things you can't really find all at once you know in the US and then outside of that like the food's really good but I think you would get bored after three days for sure I think that my favorite so far is going to be today I think it is too that's what you've been looking forward to the most skin Swiss House something I did prefer about Venice though with the no car situation is the fact that they were very committed to the no car versus here the no car they found loopholes with mini cars that are like electric you know which I'm not complaining about because honestly if I had to carry all of my heavy luggage to my hotel I would I would have died like it couldn't have been done so not mad and plus they have snow here so especially in the snow um also makes it a lot more handicap friendly so it is nice but I will say it does change the vibe just a little bit of a no car city when you see you have tiny cars flying around flying around everywhere also you can't escape it guys we've got McDonald's here how has McDonald's made it everywhere they have literally made it everywhere there are like no other restaurant chains here that I've seen um but this guy oh potato it's probably for local people though wait I want to eat at the potato the food's so expensive here yeah negative about Switzerland is everything super expensive I mean like even the trains are expensive yeah yeah it definitely was a lot cheaper in France and Italy I will say Switzerland is so far the most expensive of the European countries that we visited so far I mean we're only comparing that to two so we'll get back to you at the end of the trip once we've also seen Germany Belgium and the Netherlands but um the problem is like the dollar is 10 less here so for every dollar it's 90 cents yeah and then that's not too bad like that's all they're pricing is double the amount it should be so if you go to a restaurant like if you get a hamburger it'd normally be like maybe nine bucks 10 bucks it's like 18 to 22. yeah a lot of even their pasta dishes are like 30 something or like 28 which I mean you can find you'll you'll find that in the US too if you go to like really nice restaurants but I'm noticing that even just like hole in the wall restaurants it's the same thing which is very interesting um so yeah it's it's probably pricier but I imagine it has a lot to do with the fact that it's also difficult to get the clothes or not the clothes to get like you know Goods here also I think I realized why my camera keeps unfocusing I think every time I talk and like like my hot breath I think it's losing the ability to focus on my face we've rented from Bay Yard Alpine lifestyle I'll show you guys okay so this is where we rented it from this Bay Yard so right in there there's an entrance to their more like casual store but this is where all the rentals are so this is where we're gonna go in and then just to show you for reference we have the train station right there and that also takes you to some of the lifts and then right across the way um where that truck is parked that's where you can also get to the other lifts and that's where the sightseeing is so we are like right by it which is really nice because we don't have to carry all of our gear super far all right we found what we came for I've got a net cover um I got white because I already have black at home that way you know I have two different colors I don't need two blacks and then Darren got black where'd he go man of the hour there you are I lost you okay so now we are now we're ready on our way to the gondola or the little thing that's gonna take us to the gondola so that we can go see uh the beautiful view of the Matterhorn so with the hot breath and unfocusing situation I'm gonna be doing my best to be keeping us in Focus here for you guys but um as you've probably noticed my camera is struggling maybe I'll try to like hold my breath as I talk maybe that'll help okay so we just got into the area where you can buy tickets you can buy them at the counter or you can buy them at these little kiosk machines so we have priority boarding seven oh an additional seven dollars to get priority interesting okay so okay so there are like 10 options on there and we don't know which one is it so we are going to wait in line and wait to go to the ticket counter so we can actually ask and make sure we get the right one so we just got our tickets and we got I believe all day and it was 196 dollars for the two of us and then 176 um um Switzerland Franks okay so we actually are just going to change and go down with everything but this is the rental area and the return area and then they have lockers back here where we are storing all of our stuff so coming here we have a little key card and we're gonna scan it and it pops open our locker 73. have everything in there so we just went back we got our snowboards like they showed you we changed and then we just came straight here as the train was arriving so now we are ready to go up to the place where we either choose to do the sightseeing or to the city lips thank you so right when you get off the train you have bathrooms a little coffee shop in there some snacks extra coats and gloves and then this is right facing the Matterhorn right here this is where you can start the ski lift or not the ski lift this is where you can just start skiing immediately and then we are going to head up here to this second level to get our photos and then we're going to come back we have our boards laying there by the entrance and then we're going to come back and ski after that here's a little map so go in a cart head and on up this is beautiful I cannot imagine trying to Snowshoe I'd be so scared if I get tired I'd get like trapped up here oh my gosh freezing but beautiful okay this is that building I don't know what it is so I'm just going to film in case it ends up being something interesting okay we have elevators okay so these elevators probably go up where that walking ramp was let's hop in here also it took us about 30 minutes to get to the top so I'm really glad that we oh and exiting the opposite way so I'm really glad that we brought all of our snowboard stuff with us because if we would have come all the way up 30 minutes and then taking our pictures gone down 30 minutes grabbed our stuff and then come back up I mean we would have killed like almost two hours with like changing and everything and waiting for the next train so if you guys are snowboarding I would just bring everything with you and then you can set your board aside and then go take your photos and then go snowboarding so that would be my recommendation but if you just buy not a ski pass but just the regular ticket you can come up here just to get your photos too foreign restaurant in here so we can get a sack first or do you want to go get our photos first get more steps in oh my gosh this is actually really tiring loving that they have places to sit here there it is wow so we got our photos and now we are in the restaurant area going to grab a snack before we head down the mountain getting a little liquid courage because I'm doing the big mountain but can we just note that a lager is a normal beer I mean it should be the standard but I've never heard of lager being a normal beer or the normal beer okay so let's figure out what we're going to eat see okay so we got the full menu up here oh they've got chicken nuggets see they have french fries okay oh they have Curry spaghetti oh yeah all right we have chocolate carvings so I think this one is the most chocolate white chocolate and then we have dark chocolate it's impressive don't know why we have it but anyway we are ready to go down and get our boards and then we're gonna hit the slopes yeah yeah we made it we went down twice and oh we gotta give me the Matterhorn right here and I thought we were done I am exhausted I actually made it down the mountain without fault well no I held twice but I made down the mountain twice only falling twice which is excellent so feeling great um I thought we were done apparently we were going to the other side of the mountain do we have to okay apparently oh he took a video I was way better than this by the end I was getting very used to it out of here and off to the next lips you guys I'm in heaven I think we just found an Indian restaurant and looked right here TripAdvisor best of 2022. oh whoa looks like I just found where we're getting dinner and then here's the train stop so we just came out from there and we're walking down the little alleyway you can have your fondue for lunch but let me tell you we're having that for dinner making our way downtown walking fast snowboarding clickety-clacking cause that didn't fasten up the bindings all right here we go time for the next one oh we have another tunnel I appreciate you presenting it we do have another ticket counter so if you want to eat that one I believe that the card that we got covers this mountain we're not positive but I believe so we'll find out so at the end of the tunnel you just scan your ski card again and RC card did work which means that we do have access to that and then we are opting out of the mega stairs and we are just gonna wait a few more minutes for the next little lifty thing because yeah no no all right it actually looks like we are the only yep doors are closing we are the only ones for the entire train I rented it out VIP uh makes me kind of wonder if it's not a good time to go but uh it's too late no it's like later in the day yeah it's two we only have two more hours and there's not like a lot of people up here in general but you can tell when it's busy season how much like people actually are here yeah and then the whole like waiting area for like the next train game for a lift we haven't waited for a tram yeah everything's like pretty immediate but they said on the 16th is when like this place gets really packed up that's busy season looks like they've got a little restaurant up here too which is nice and then another lift what how high are we going okay so we're on the lift something really cool is that every other one is like a closed Gondola and then a regular chair lift like that one so we are in a gondola and then there was a little area for us to a little pocket that we could put our boards so I'm writing this every time or we're going up you guys this this must be a really tall mountain because there are so many levels to get up here foreign so we're down for the mountain we are back to the camera guys and that second Mountain was not the business yeah you were flinging yourself off mountains and crap like no I am I'm intermediate at best and the first okay so the first Mountain we went to we went down two different sides and that was awesome um it was all like very intermediate like it was a long run but the runs were they weren't very um steep so it was very easy to manage this one there was one point where it was like a vertical drop like how no no so I wasn't having it halfway through I quit and I went to the restaurant and got a beer and french fries and then Darren went and like did the run like one or two more or he finished that run and then went back to the top and redid it um so I'm glad he had a good time I had a good time in the morning um and then we finished and then just returned our ski gear and then we stopped into Coop which is I mean some of the locations are grocery stores some of the locations are only like a drugstore Pharmacy and then some of the other locations are full-on department store with like clothing like a full like Cosmetics area this one was more of a grocery store but I picked up some brow pencils because mine is almost out so I they didn't have the one that I usually use but I just I grabbed like three different ones and I'm like one of them will work it'll be fine so yeah now we are exploring do you wanna turn here and go straight okay okay so now we're just exploring different areas going down random little Alleyways some really cute little shops and then we are just working up an appetite because we are going to be going back to that Indian place and I'm really excited um it has freaking five stars on TripAdvisor what I have never seen a restaurant with a five-star like rating so I'm really excited I mean already it looked like it was going to be really good but after seeing the rating I'm even more excited than ever I mean it has five out of five stars right I have never seen that so um you know I will say our expectations are a little high now but it sounds like they're gonna come through oh my gosh this is like Boot City oh my gosh okay anywho want to check in see you guys in a bit okay so we came over here and we're going to go to the Matterhorn Museum uh right in front of this big beautiful Church however despite the fact that it's supposed to be open until 6 pm um apparently it's out of season it sounds like from the sign but we were like this must be a really small Museum it's actually not so you go down the stairs or you can take the elevator and then the entire Museum must be underground that's very interesting but it's a shame that it's closed so now we're going to keep exploring thank you hey guys we are back at the hotel we finished dinner it was amazing and then walked back to hotel we started I'm taking off all of our snow clothes getting a bit more comfortable because we are in for the night it's about six o'clock right now and the city is pretty much Dead all of the shops close between 4 30 and mostly 4 30 to 5 30 a few of them stay open till about six and then the restaurants stay open for a few more hours and then that's pretty much it this town is definitely a hot spot for outdoorsy activities like skiing snowboarding snowshoeing hiking things like that but there are not a whole lot of other things to do for example I don't I haven't found a theater or ice rink or I don't know ax wearing bowling like you name it they do not have it here so this seems to be just a very leisurely just kind of ski town so the nice thing about that is that as we settle in around six o'clock it doesn't feel like we're missing out on anything but I'm really excited for tomorrow we're going to be going to another beautiful city Lucerne and I will of course be bringing you guys along for that as well but for this video I'm going to go ahead and end it here thank you guys again so I've been waiting for a lifetime trick car on our way to our hotel in Vermont so we finally got here it was a very very windy road we're both pretty Associated we're both car sick or motion sick and it feels very nice to kind of be moving a little slower now but it's together I found it quite hard quite lovely hey guys welcome back to my Channel or if you're new here welcome I'm Brooke I'm a travel lifestyle and DIY videos today I am kicking off the video in Zermatt so right now we are in southern Switzerland so it took us about a four and a half hour drive to get here and we had a bit of an event this morning basically we got we made it to our train the first train and then we got off on the correct stop and then someone overheard us I'm talking about what stop we were at and they told us we were at the wrong stop so we panicked immediately got back on the train and ended up at a different stop we got lost we missed our connections we end up going back to the hotel and we almost did not come to Vermont today so we ended up having to just figure everything out again however we ended up hiring a private transfer basically you just hired a driver to drive us here which honestly ended up being a lot better and a really really cool experience it was super windy roads though so we both did get a little motion sickness but we have made it it is beautiful here it is snow flocked everywhere and I am so excited to be bringing you guys along here so if you haven't already don't forget subscribe below give me a big thumbs up and let's get into it so right when you enter the room you have an area to put your boots and your coats you have robes and we immediately enter into the main area so right here we have our bed full length mirror little Cubbies night lights and we have two closets so we have some shelves a safe and then in this one this is where you can hang everything and then we have this absolutely beautiful view we'll go out there in just a minute we have yeah legit they have kindling wood yeah we have a full-on fireplace they it was like a gas slip fire that's like a legit fire no they trust us with fire I feel honored because I wouldn't trust people of fire um we have couch nice little carpet area TV coffee maker little desk mini fridge and then right here you can see into the bathroom but you do so this is glass but they do have a little blind that you can put up that way you can enjoy the view if you want or you can enjoy your privacy instead now coming into the bathroom so right off the living room and from the front door we have the Big Tub sink sink all of the products bathroom do love that they have a door on that and a very spacious shower and now let's head outside I do love that also on the little bench they also have Cubbies like the amount of storage they have here is awesome all right let's head outside oh wow so we have our own little private balcony here on little chairs so we can enjoy our coffee out here in the morning wow look at this and here's the rest of the hotel we are just nestled in we are just nestled into the Mountainside absolutely beautiful and when it clears up we actually do have a view of the Matterhorn and I although it's covered by clouds I believe this one right here is the Matterhorn this is beautiful at night this is going to be absolutely magical so this is where they don't allow any regular cars they do have some electric cars that are local and so that's how you can get Transportation around the city but the little cars are so tiny they're actually really cute I'll show you guys when we go into town but it's kind of funny watching all these like miniature cars go around but anywho we are going to get settled here and then we are going to go explore oh interesting they have little foot holders so you can go up here and enjoy the snow interesting okay so I'm about to get ready unfortunately my hair did not last I curled it and like more than half of it has just like Fallen straight which is frustrating but that's okay I'm gonna Spruce that up before we go into town um but I wanted to pop in and tell you guys how freaking excited I am to be here so when we were like this city is basically the entire reason we came to Europe in winter so I've seen photos of this town at night and with the no cars and just all the old wooden buildings and everything this town looks like a little Christmas card or a Christmas Town you know those little tiny Christmas towns that people put um on like their kitchen tables and stuff this literally looks like it and this is the entire reason I wanted to come to Europe during winter so this city is what started the entire planning of this trip so when I say I'm excited to be here you guys I am so freaking excited to be here I'm also really excited to go to Amsterdam but I would say this is the number one city that I was stoked about coming to so all right I'm gonna get ready really fast because like I'm so eager to explore okay we are all bundled up look at all the snow out there we've got our hot hands I brought an entire case of hot hands 40 pairs we're only here for a total of like two weeks well I thought we needed the entire case I don't know but um it's fine because we're gonna be warm so now we're trying to figure out how on Earth to get outside because it's kind of like a maze in this Hotel so we'll figure this out so we get to walk out of the same really cool tunnel that we drove in from so here's our hotel in the tunnel we just came out of look how beautiful this water is like you can just see how blue it is that is crazy okay these are like the size of the little cars driving around here and they're all electric scenes little cars they look like kind of like Disneyland Cars okay so now to try to find a restaurant we do have a bistro right here but we're gonna explore so we did not eat before we came here and it's now like 2 p.m so actually it's like 3 P.M so we are starving Darren getting the content he's getting the content because the Matterhorn is right that is that it nope I think right back there yeah so exploring seeing what's around here but you guys I'm so excited to be here oh and I wonder I'm cold I'm holding my gloves instead of wearing them so we just found the little downtown area got some snow plows coming through and I think this is probably where we're going to be able to find a restaurant foreign we found a restaurant how to okay looks like how do we open the door out of all the raviolis I've tried here I haven't had pesto that sounds so good but I've decided that I'm done with my my ravioli tour so I think I'm gonna get that spicy pasta that Darren got yesterday which is this one it was really good so I got bruschetta and I ended up getting a fusilli with eggplant zucchini and tomato and then Darren got a capri salad and then he got escargot but everything looks and smells amazing and then the beer that and then the beer that we got is from Vermont and it's called the Matterhorn how cute is that I would say that restaurant was pretty good I mean there might be better here it was like pretty standard nothing super crazy yes hit the spot I drink I drank that entire liter of water by myself we're not drinking water here yeah I only drink like a gallon a day and here we've had maybe 20 ounces a day so I think we're also severely dehydrated so let me just tell you I thought I was getting sick after drinking that liter of water I'd go back to normal I think this entire time that I thought I was getting sick I was just dehydrated my body was shutting down so good is we are hydrated we are fueled and so now we are just continuing down the Main Street and exploring seeing what they have there are a ton of shops and such and I'm really excited I'm excited too let's go see what we can find okay so Darren's in here looking at some watches but I just found this cute little chocolate shop and look how cool this is these are like sheets of chocolate Wild they're like full on sheets of like different types of like bark wow so cool look how magical this is just mountains with snow on them Christmas tree this is just it's beyond anything I don't know if you can see all of the Christmas lights all the way down let's see if we can zoom in here okay so I zoomed in and just look at this like a winter wonderland it's insane this Coop thing it's basically like I think it's like a clothing store there are Cosmetics I guess it's like a department store and they have them everywhere like just in Vermont alone and we've already seen two of them they are like every few blocks um in Zurich and I think it's just kind of a thing around here oh my gosh even as the sun goes down it this place just becomes more and more magical Okay so we've been walking around we decided that we are going to go snowboarding tomorrow because that's always been Darren's dream Swiss Alps here we come yes so um we went to North Face and picked Aaron up a snowboarding jacket I brought mine I had I had a feeling you know um and then we got some like snow gloves and then we went to another shop and rented our snowboards and boots for tomorrow and the shop is super conveniently placed it's right by the gondola so right where we need to go up to go to the mountain it's like two businesses away from from that area so perfect place and then we did get some pins Darren go to watch oh yeah I gotta watch for my grandpa because I've wanted to get a watch for my grandpa from Switzerland so that's where all watches are made for all the good ones yeah all the notable ones and so he was able to get that we are looking for a Christmas ornaments so far I'm finding a lot of cowbell Christmas ornaments yeah and there's a Cow restaurant too I'm thinking this place is known for cows well I haven't seen a cow since we've been up here I mean maybe it's kind of now maybe that's more like of his history maybe they uh hibernate up here I don't think that's a thing but anywho so now we are walking around exploring we're slowly going to be making our way back to the hotel where we are going to be getting a glass of wine building a fire in our room and just hanging out so things are pretty like they're dead now I think now it's probably about dinner time for everyone we eat pretty early compared to like Europeans and such so pretty much how we have the whole place to ourselves so I'm sorry so oh I know I was gonna say there's a ornament shop in there you keep them walking away when you record I'm like trying to wait I'm a gal on the Go Guys I'm a gallon ago um I think these oh no no look right here to the left these are all okay so actually this would actually be really cool oh this is exciting okay so we're gonna find our coffee table books what is that I don't I think this is a gopher so Tonight Darren is the elected pack mule typically I am however today he is because the bag is so big and I'm so short that when I carry it the bottom drags on the ground so I've put him to work well honestly you offered but um anywho so we just came acrossed my hands we found this beautiful I'm assuming it's a church oh my gosh look at this fountain it's Fountain is really cute okay so these are groundhogs right yeah these look like what they lift up on Groundhog Day okay so they must be known for groundhogs because these things are like everywhere so all of these fountains are like fresh drinking water so you can just fill up your water ball at these and then they have a little Museum down here oh that's cool maybe we'll go visit that tomorrow oh it looks like Darren has found something what have you found squirrel squirrel guys should we get it well it's closed but I mean maybe we'll come back tomorrow oh this place is super cute elsies all of the places here are super cute oh my gosh just everywhere you look it's just like beautiful winter just like Wonderland Vibes I mean look at the tiny Christmas trees and these are like real trees up there they're not like fake decoration okay more of these groundhogs okay they've got to be a thing they've got to be so maybe maybe that's our goal we're gonna try to find a real groundhog while we're here oh the history okay ever since 1981 the founder Andreas Schmidt has been fascinated by the marmot it's a remedy for uh Rheumatic illness oh my God they sell their fats and oils Harvest them they kill him and get the fats and oils off what is oh oh my God these guys are I am appalled look they even have a big stuffed animals I wonder if they have to yeah they have to kill them they're fat oh my gosh I'm so sorry my dear friend literally everywhere we go I'm just like this is this is so like vibey and cozy and cute like this belongs in a Hallmark movie like I can't even handle it and like actually really cool let's walk past and very sneakily creep record people as they eat so I'll come back and get it in better lighting tomorrow oh actually you can see what's going on it's like almost pitch black out here I'm very surprised I don't know what's going on suddenly my camera is like great quality um but all of these homes are like original Timber and these are some of the most historic homes there's an entire Street of them that we passed through earlier on our way here um to be quite honest with you we are completely lost right now so we are like very much lost right now um but we're just like wandering about like I feel like this is a low crime area if I had to guess I don't know I'm making all of this up you guys I don't know what setting I have my camera on right now um but I must have accidentally changed it because literally anytime after like the slightest amount of sunset my camera's like pitch black which is why I usually switch to my phone um it's full night time right now and for some reason you guys can see me I don't I don't know what's going on but this is like the best thing that's ever happened to me right now the best thing so now we're with all the snow walking along I am happy as a clamp you know I was starting to feel like it was Overkill that I packed my snowshoes and like snow gear but like I packed it for this you know packed it for this so anyway we're gonna keep exploring show you guys if we find anything else exciting otherwise I'll see you guys back at the hotel okay so we are coming back and I'm ready to show you guys how cool our freaking hotel is okay so you can't really see it but that building at the tip Tip Top poking out on the left that is the top of our hotel but we are going to enter through this cave so let's go look at it and again our hotel is right next to the beautiful like Little River and the water is so brilliant blue I mean you can still kind of tell how blue it is I'm taking a water bottle tomorrow and filling it up because the water here is way better than the bottled water yeah okay here is our hotel I I don't even think you guys are ready like I so excited like going back to the hotel is such an exciting experience okay okay here we go and then from there we have our elevator to the hotel and they have a collection of different wines well they are really promoting the wine here isn't that so cool though the entrance is the coolest thing I have ever freaking seen like out of every Hotel well there goes a room key so we just came up to the bar and we decided to sit outside despite the fact that it is 12 degrees Fahrenheit right now do you have a little heating system out here so it's not too bad so we have a beautiful view and over here these tables you have a perfect view of the Matterhorn you can kind of oh my gosh you can see it right now oh my God that's so cool okay so you have like the perfect view obviously during daytime it's probably a little better but you also have a beautiful view of all of zuman look at that Christmas Town vibes oh my gosh and today was the first time it snowed in like a week so everything is like freshly flocked did you ever think you'd be opting to sit outside in 12 degree weather no but I think you're comfortable because I have my gloves on and this jacket is so warm you literally have sweating in it look how like thick this jacket is but you know what like what I realized is I could just wear thermals under here I don't have to wear a sweatshirt so these it's a different brand than hot hands but it basically is hot hands I got them at Costco and I was telling you guys I got 40 like two packs and I was we hadn't used them yet so I was thinking we wouldn't but you guys it is like I mentioned it is 12 degrees here so tomorrow we go snowboarding we're gonna put one in each of our gloves and then we're gonna put one in each of our pant Pockets so actually we might fly through all 40 pairs thank you foreign well good morning it's about 7 30 and boy do I have something to show you look at this view are you ready wow a perfectly clear morning and look at that view of the Matterhorn I'm going to bring you in for even closer wow this is incredible which also means when we get to the top of the mountain for our sightseeing of the Matterhorn we're gonna have a perfect view of it I am so excited but before I shower and get ready I just wanted to show you guys like look at this look at this city wow just can you even believe this is real I I can't I can't even believe this is real good morning this is so beautiful now you can kind of see just how blue it is and then of course just that incredible view of the Matterhorn so right now we're on our way to the train station that's where they have the gondolas up to the um like the viewing area of the Matterhorn and up there from my research they have like a bar a small restaurant and things like that and then you can take photos with the gorgeous Matterhorn in the background and then we're gonna come down get our snowboarding stuff and then head back go up a different like lift area thing that's going to take us up where the skiing and snowboarding is so that's the plan we've got our whole get up so mine is all white and I'm loving it I'm wearing this like beige turtleneck under and with my uh my big coat open it reminds me so much of those photos of uh Lady Gaga for the house is focused yetis for the house of Gucci um like the Billboards for that it super reminds me of it so I want to take a picture like that with the Matterhorn in the background and then Darren's wearing his new coat yeah let me see your little your little fit oh oh I don't know oh yeah we are ready to rock and roll it's about nine o'clock right now took our time getting ready I actually was able to sleep more than four hours last night so I slept like six and a half so I'm feeling fantastic it's like best day of my life feeling great I don't know why this is focusing on everything except for me there we go okay so passing the little bar we got a drink at last night and heading back to uh that little Main Street that we were at yesterday so we have Christmas trees for sale look how small they are I mean I guess you know there's not a ton of space here to begin with all right what has been your favorite part of either the city or Switzerland overall the city because there's no that's true um like zerk is really cool but I wouldn't want to go there for more than like three days because really all there is to do there is a Chocolate Factory and then also just shopping if you like shopping they have everything there from designer all the way down to like North Face like things you can't really find all at once you know in the US and then outside of that like the food's really good but I think you would get bored after three days for sure I think that my favorite so far is going to be today I think it is too that's what you've been looking forward to the most skin Swiss House something I did prefer about Venice though with the no car situation is the fact that they were very committed to the no car versus here the no car they found loopholes with mini cars that are like electric you know which I'm not complaining about because honestly if I had to carry all of my heavy luggage to my hotel I would I would have died like it couldn't have been done so not mad and plus they have snow here so especially in the snow um also makes it a lot more handicap friendly so it is nice but I will say it does change the vibe just a little bit of a no car city when you see you have tiny cars flying around flying around everywhere also you can't escape it guys we've got McDonald's here how has McDonald's made it everywhere they have literally made it everywhere there are like no other restaurant chains here that I've seen um but this guy oh potato it's probably for local people though wait I want to eat at the potato the food's so expensive here yeah negative about Switzerland is everything super expensive I mean like even the trains are expensive yeah yeah it definitely was a lot cheaper in France and Italy I will say Switzerland is so far the most expensive of the European countries that we visited so far I mean we're only comparing that to two so we'll get back to you at the end of the trip once we've also seen Germany Belgium and the Netherlands but um the problem is like the dollar is 10 less here so for every dollar it's 90 cents yeah and then that's not too bad like that's all they're pricing is double the amount it should be so if you go to a restaurant like if you get a hamburger it'd normally be like maybe nine bucks 10 bucks it's like 18 to 22. yeah a lot of even their pasta dishes are like 30 something or like 28 which I mean you can find you'll you'll find that in the US too if you go to like really nice restaurants but I'm noticing that even just like hole in the wall restaurants it's the same thing which is very interesting um so yeah it's it's probably pricier but I imagine it has a lot to do with the fact that it's also difficult to get the clothes or not the clothes to get like you know Goods here also I think I realized why my camera keeps unfocusing I think every time I talk and like like my hot breath I think it's losing the ability to focus on my face we've rented from Bay Yard Alpine lifestyle I'll show you guys okay so this is where we rented it from this Bay Yard so right in there there's an entrance to their more like casual store but this is where all the rentals are so this is where we're gonna go in and then just to show you for reference we have the train station right there and that also takes you to some of the lifts and then right across the way um where that truck is parked that's where you can also get to the other lifts and that's where the sightseeing is so we are like right by it which is really nice because we don't have to carry all of our gear super far all right we found what we came for I've got a net cover um I got white because I already have black at home that way you know I have two different colors I don't need two blacks and then Darren got black where'd he go man of the hour there you are I lost you okay so now we are now we're ready on our way to the gondola or the little thing that's gonna take us to the gondola so that we can go see uh the beautiful view of the Matterhorn so with the hot breath and unfocusing situation I'm gonna be doing my best to be keeping us in Focus here for you guys but um as you've probably noticed my camera is struggling maybe I'll try to like hold my breath as I talk maybe that'll help okay so we just got into the area where you can buy tickets you can buy them at the counter or you can buy them at these little kiosk machines so we have priority boarding seven oh an additional seven dollars to get priority interesting okay so okay so there are like 10 options on there and we don't know which one is it so we are going to wait in line and wait to go to the ticket counter so we can actually ask and make sure we get the right one so we just got our tickets and we got I believe all day and it was 196 dollars for the two of us and then 176 um um Switzerland Franks okay so we actually are just going to change and go down with everything but this is the rental area and the return area and then they have lockers back here where we are storing all of our stuff so coming here we have a little key card and we're gonna scan it and it pops open our locker 73. have everything in there so we just went back we got our snowboards like they showed you we changed and then we just came straight here as the train was arriving so now we are ready to go up to the place where we either choose to do the sightseeing or to the city lips thank you so right when you get off the train you have bathrooms a little coffee shop in there some snacks extra coats and gloves and then this is right facing the Matterhorn right here this is where you can start the ski lift or not the ski lift this is where you can just start skiing immediately and then we are going to head up here to this second level to get our photos and then we're going to come back we have our boards laying there by the entrance and then we're going to come back and ski after that here's a little map so go in a cart head and on up this is beautiful I cannot imagine trying to Snowshoe I'd be so scared if I get tired I'd get like trapped up here oh my gosh freezing but beautiful okay this is that building I don't know what it is so I'm just going to film in case it ends up being something interesting okay we have elevators okay so these elevators probably go up where that walking ramp was let's hop in here also it took us about 30 minutes to get to the top so I'm really glad that we oh and exiting the opposite way so I'm really glad that we brought all of our snowboard stuff with us because if we would have come all the way up 30 minutes and then taking our pictures gone down 30 minutes grabbed our stuff and then come back up I mean we would have killed like almost two hours with like changing and everything and waiting for the next train so if you guys are snowboarding I would just bring everything with you and then you can set your board aside and then go take your photos and then go snowboarding so that would be my recommendation but if you just buy not a ski pass but just the regular ticket you can come up here just to get your photos too foreign restaurant in here so we can get a sack first or do you want to go get our photos first get more steps in oh my gosh this is actually really tiring loving that they have places to sit here there it is wow so we got our photos and now we are in the restaurant area going to grab a snack before we head down the mountain getting a little liquid courage because I'm doing the big mountain but can we just note that a lager is a normal beer I mean it should be the standard but I've never heard of lager being a normal beer or the normal beer okay so let's figure out what we're going to eat see okay so we got the full menu up here oh they've got chicken nuggets see they have french fries okay oh they have Curry spaghetti oh yeah all right we have chocolate carvings so I think this one is the most chocolate white chocolate and then we have dark chocolate it's impressive don't know why we have it but anyway we are ready to go down and get our boards and then we're gonna hit the slopes yeah yeah we made it we went down twice and oh we gotta give me the Matterhorn right here and I thought we were done I am exhausted I actually made it down the mountain without fault well no I held twice but I made down the mountain twice only falling twice which is excellent so feeling great um I thought we were done apparently we were going to the other side of the mountain do we have to okay apparently oh he took a video I was way better than this by the end I was getting very used to it out of here and off to the next lips you guys I'm in heaven I think we just found an Indian restaurant and looked right here TripAdvisor best of 2022. oh whoa looks like I just found where we're getting dinner and then here's the train stop so we just came out from there and we're walking down the little alleyway you can have your fondue for lunch but let me tell you we're having that for dinner making our way downtown walking fast snowboarding clickety-clacking cause that didn't fasten up the bindings all right here we go time for the next one oh we have another tunnel I appreciate you presenting it we do have another ticket counter so if you want to eat that one I believe that the card that we got covers this mountain we're not positive but I believe so we'll find out so at the end of the tunnel you just scan your ski card again and RC card did work which means that we do have access to that and then we are opting out of the mega stairs and we are just gonna wait a few more minutes for the next little lifty thing because yeah no no all right it actually looks like we are the only yep doors are closing we are the only ones for the entire train I rented it out VIP uh makes me kind of wonder if it's not a good time to go but uh it's too late no it's like later in the day yeah it's two we only have two more hours and there's not like a lot of people up here in general but you can tell when it's busy season how much like people actually are here yeah and then the whole like waiting area for like the next train game for a lift we haven't waited for a tram yeah everything's like pretty immediate but they said on the 16th is when like this place gets really packed up that's busy season looks like they've got a little restaurant up here too which is nice and then another lift what how high are we going okay so we're on the lift something really cool is that every other one is like a closed Gondola and then a regular chair lift like that one so we are in a gondola and then there was a little area for us to a little pocket that we could put our boards so I'm writing this every time or we're going up you guys this this must be a really tall mountain because there are so many levels to get up here foreign so we're down for the mountain we are back to the camera guys and that second Mountain was not the business yeah you were flinging yourself off mountains and crap like no I am I'm intermediate at best and the first okay so the first Mountain we went to we went down two different sides and that was awesome um it was all like very intermediate like it was a long run but the runs were they weren't very um steep so it was very easy to manage this one there was one point where it was like a vertical drop like how no no so I wasn't having it halfway through I quit and I went to the restaurant and got a beer and french fries and then Darren went and like did the run like one or two more or he finished that run and then went back to the top and redid it um so I'm glad he had a good time I had a good time in the morning um and then we finished and then just returned our ski gear and then we stopped into Coop which is I mean some of the locations are grocery stores some of the locations are only like a drugstore Pharmacy and then some of the other locations are full-on department store with like clothing like a full like Cosmetics area this one was more of a grocery store but I picked up some brow pencils because mine is almost out so I they didn't have the one that I usually use but I just I grabbed like three different ones and I'm like one of them will work it'll be fine so yeah now we are exploring do you wanna turn here and go straight okay okay so now we're just exploring different areas going down random little Alleyways some really cute little shops and then we are just working up an appetite because we are going to be going back to that Indian place and I'm really excited um it has freaking five stars on TripAdvisor what I have never seen a restaurant with a five-star like rating so I'm really excited I mean already it looked like it was going to be really good but after seeing the rating I'm even more excited than ever I mean it has five out of five stars right I have never seen that so um you know I will say our expectations are a little high now but it sounds like they're gonna come through oh my gosh this is like Boot City oh my gosh okay anywho want to check in see you guys in a bit okay so we came over here and we're going to go to the Matterhorn Museum uh right in front of this big beautiful Church however despite the fact that it's supposed to be open until 6 pm um apparently it's out of season it sounds like from the sign but we were like this must be a really small Museum it's actually not so you go down the stairs or you can take the elevator and then the entire Museum must be underground that's very interesting but it's a shame that it's closed so now we're going to keep exploring thank you hey guys we are back at the hotel we finished dinner it was amazing and then walked back to hotel we started I'm taking off all of our snow clothes getting a bit more comfortable because we are in for the night it's about six o'clock right now and the city is pretty much Dead all of the shops close between 4 30 and mostly 4 30 to 5 30 a few of them stay open till about six and then the restaurants stay open for a few more hours and then that's pretty much it this town is definitely a hot spot for outdoorsy activities like skiing snowboarding snowshoeing hiking things like that but there are not a whole lot of other things to do for example I don't I haven't found a theater or ice rink or I don't know ax wearing bowling like you name it they do not have it here so this seems to be just a very leisurely just kind of ski town so the nice thing about that is that as we settle in around six o'clock it doesn't feel like we're missing out on anything but I'm really excited for tomorrow we're going to be going to another beautiful city Lucerne and I will of course be bringing you guys along for that as well but for this video I'm going to go ahead and end it here thank you guys again so
