Ghost Recon Wildlands - Do you need a CPU upgrade - FX 8300 - R5 1600X - i7-2600K - i7-7700K

**Playing with Results: A Hands-On Experience with the FX-8300 Processor**

As I sat down to play through this mission, I couldn't help but feel like Rambo, minus the actual ability to act like him since that would likely result in my demise. The game's dialogue made a big show of quick getaways and stealthy infiltrations, but I decided to take a more relaxed approach. After all, there was no need to clean up after myself if I could just sneak in, grab the information, and slip out unnoticed.

**Multiple Paths to Success**

The objective was simple: get to the computer and press E to hack and download the documents. But how I got there was entirely up to me. I decided to play around with different approaches, experimenting with various strategies to see what worked best. This allowed me to experience the game in a more free-form way, unencumbered by the need for a specific route or outcome.

**Frame Rates and Performance**

The results of my experiment were quite fascinating. The FX 8300 processor averaged around 41 frames per second, with a minimum frame rate of 29 and a maximum of 71. I was intrigued to see how this compared to the other processors, particularly the i7-77700K, which was touted as the fastest chip on the list. While it was indeed the most powerful, the results showed that the Ryzen 5600x was not far behind, with only three frames per second less than the 1600x at 4.9 GHz.

**A Tale of Two Processors: 2600K and 7700K**

The comparison between the 2600k and 7700k was particularly interesting. While there was a significant difference in their performance, it was largely due to the age of the processors. The 2600k had been around for six years, since its release in 2017, while the 7700k was newer, having launched just last year. Despite this, the results showed that with a bit of overclocking and the right cooling solution, the 2600k could deliver performance comparable to the 7700k.

**Budget-Friendly Options**

If I had to choose one new processor to buy tomorrow, my money would go towards the Ryzen 5600x or its slightly cheaper sibling, the Ryzen 5600. Using the stock cooler and running at a modest 3.7 GHz, this processor delivered around 60 frames per second, making it an excellent value for its price.

**Conclusion**

Overall, my experience with the FX-8300 processor was one of discovery and experimentation. By playing with different approaches and strategies, I gained a deeper understanding of how the game's performance could be influenced by various factors. The results were fascinating, and I'm excited to see how other games will perform on these five processors in future reviews.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and welcome to Tech deals CPU performance comparison on four different computers we are testing two old and two new processors today the AMD FX 8300 the AMD ryzen 5600x the Intel i7 2600k and the i77700k please note that the clock speeds you see on the screen are overclocked clock speeds they are fixed there is no Turbo there is no variability so each of the processors is running constant at those speeds the two older systems have DDR 3600 and the two newer systems have ddr4 3200 MHz memory all four computers have 16 gigs of system RAM installed an AMD RX 488 GB graphics card 1080p resolution and you can see the detail settings there on the screen which will vary from game to game fraps was used for the game performance numbers you'll see at the end of this video but it was not used to record the video you're going to watch instead amd's relive software is used to record the gameplay very very small performance penalty at most 5% so if you are streaming or recording your gameplay this is exactly what you should expect to see if you are not add about 5% to the final numbers the numbers in green at the top left corner of the screen are from MSI After Burner a free program you can download and run on virtually any graph graphics card to get real time information on what your computer is doing first up we have the FX 8300 CPU now as you watch this I want you to pay attention to the GPU usage the first line in the MSI After Burner numbers the rx480 that first percentage there watch the percentage it is not holding at 100% what does this mean we are CPU limited the CPU is not powerful enough to feed the game to the graphics card to allow the graphics card to become saturated what does this mean putting a faster graphics card in would not improve the performance of this game this is a very important Point many people don't know do I need to upgrade my graphics card do I need to upgrade my CPU why is this game not running faster this is what this video series is designed to answer now in many of the other games that I have shown in this video series The Witcher 3 is a good example the CPUs don't matter because they're not the limit to Performance the graphics card is this game Ghost Recon wildlands wants good CPU performance and the FX 8300 just doesn't have it now if you look at the percentage of CPU being used you'll notice it's running around 75% Ghost Recon uses six cores or six threads it is one of those new generation of games Battlefield 1 is another good example Ghost Recon is now another that absolutely wants more than four cores it will run on four cores it runs better on six it does not however really need eight although Eight's a nice round number for it now it's worth noting that when we look at the i7 results the i7 only has four cores but it has eight threads it simulates eight cores but it doesn't really have eight cores now the R5 1600x does and you're going to see some nice results here at the end of this video from that but coming back to the fx-8300 now this CPU the whole FX series started about 5 years ago with the 8100 this is a refreshed version of that chip we're running at 4.2 GHz overclock speed and really when it comes down to it it just doesn't have the per core performance to provide what this game needs in many other games in many other tests it's a good processor these FX 8300s can now be purchased for less than $100 especially in the summer and fall of 2017 I fully expect you'll find some amazing deals on CPU motherboard and RAM because as people upgrade to ryzen 5 ryzen 7 and i7s people are going to be selling their FX 8300 series chips now it's not just the 8300 this includes the 8320 8350 8370 they're all in the same position it's worth noting all the fx8 core chips are the same processor the only difference is clock speed now this processor is overclocked so in 8 350 for example set to 4.2 GHz will be exactly the same speed so don't think well gee if I just buy a faster version of this chip I'll solve my problems now if you ran the clock speed faster if you were running this at 4.5 or 4.7 yes it would be a bit better but not a lot better we're talking a couple of percentage points in terms of CPU power if you watch the graphics performance bounce around we're not short a couple of percent of C CPU power we're short a lot of CPU power the per core performance of this chip simply does not hold water for CPU intensive games in 2017 and Ghost Recon wildlands wants lots of CPU power having said that let's take a look at some of the other numbers first now looking at our rx480 notice that the temperature of the card is modest but the fan speed is next to nothing now this is a factory overclock card running at 1303 me which is really nice but the Fan's not turning because the GPU is not getting 100% utilization normally that fan would be turning faster it's slower because the GPU is not staying up all the time vram right at 4 GB of vram now a 4 gig card even a 3 gig C is fine for this game I have tested it on the GTX 1063 gig card it's fine that's not an issue the main system RAM usage I'd like to call that out here we're currently using about 8 GB of Main main system Ram now a lot of people are going to look at that and go great all I need is 8 gigs of RAM 16's a waste of money well that's nice but you'd be wrong that's how much RAM the game and windows is currently using for active loaded programs it doesn't account for certain background tasks and system Services it doesn't count for your swap file it doesn't account for the fact that Windows needs to have some disc cash space available this game will not run this smooth even on this processor with 8 gigs of RAM you really want to have 16 so if you only have eight well yes it will run but it will not be as smooth please note that the jump from 8 to 16 gigs of RAM doesn't make your average frame rate substantially faster it lifts the minimums it'll lift the 1% number your overall smoothness and lagginess will improve tremendously by having more RAM of course having just said that look we're getting 40 40 frames 36 35 frames per second at the moment now normally this is the part where I would cut to the next CPU but I want to leave a little bit more of this footage in here so you can see this fx-8300 is really the keynote of this uh gameplay of course the i77700k is going to play this game fine frankly the ryzen 5 is going to play it fine as well this is the one you need to watch the most because if you currently have an fx-8300 and you're struggling in the latest generation of games the CPU is why more than your graphics card putting a modern graphics card in this is is not going to allow you to run all current games smoothly because you'll be CPU limited and normally the advice is CPU is not that important in fact if you watch my Witcher 3 comparison I specifically state in that video that all that really matters is your graphics card if you have any reasonable four core CPU from the past five or 6 years at 4 GHz or higher whicher three does not care that's true it doesn't Ghost Recon Wildland does this is only going to continue to become more and more true as we get more games that use more and more cores as I said this one uses six we're going to be seeing games that absolutely will uh take full use of eight here in the coming years in the next maybe 2 to 3 years that's going to become a very common thing this CPU is going to struggle but wait you say isn't this an eight thread chip well yes but the per cor performance of this chip is frankly abysmal the only only saving grace of this processor is the fact that it's got eight threads when so many people don't so many people are running say for example i5s that only have four threads and so in highly threaded games the eight threads make up for it but when new games start wanting more than four threads the low per core performance of the FX really starts to be felt now I don't want to go on an fx bashing session here because the fact of the matter is I just built this FX 8300 system a few few months ago it's a $600 build Linked In the description below and to be completely honest with you with the exception of Battlefield 1 with the exception of Ghost Recon wildlands and a couple of other games the vast majority of games play very very well on this processor so it depends upon what you want to play and and what you're looking for this is why MSI After Burner is such a useful tool it lets you know why is your system not running faster what is the Benchmark what is the limit it's easy to say well just buy the best of everything well sure if you have all the money in the world knock yourself out but if you don't what do you need to upgrade graphics card or CPU watch those percentages look for how many cores are being used look for whether your graphics cards utilized is your vram full is your main system Ram full why is your system not fast use MSI After Burner and it will usually give you a really good indication of what you need to replace in order to get better performance all right that's enough of the FX processor let jump to the R5 1600x now I've covered the ryzen processors extensively on my channel link to those playlists in the video description below now this is the 1600x it's a $250 processor six cores 12 threads it is a great CPU it is currently running at a fixed 4.0 GHz now this does take a good cooler to get it there the stock cooler on the r516 will generally run it at 3.7 which is a 7 1 12% clock speed deficit does that matter for most games no now that's the deal is the 1,600 at 3.7 GHz using the included cooler $220 plus $100 for a b350 motherboard for $320 six cores 12 threads amazing performance to get to 4 GHz I have a 240 mm liquid cooler now if you're okay to spend more money to get more performance you certainly can this runs very very well totally stable and everything at 4 GHz $250 for the CPU plus $100 for the liquid cooler plus a motherboard $100 for a b350 or 150 for an x370 if you care about the extra features on the x370 and you've got yourself an amazing value for the money is it faster than the i77700k no but it's often times smoother now it doesn't always reflect in the benchmarks I have to say that one of the problems with running benchmarks is it's a very cold calculating number and the minimums the maximums the average and even the upcoming 1% and. 1% lows that I will put into future videos they won't be here because this was recorded before I switched to that testing methodology however I will be showing that shortly in an upcoming uh video on this I'm going to be comparing rx480 versus RX 580 Factory overclocked in Ghost Recon wildlands to show you the average difference that those will have 1% and one and. 1% lows here's the long and short of it ryzen is an amazing CPU that frankly benchmarks don't always do justice to and I realize that's kind of like wait a minute man are you just being a fan of AMD you're just saying what you like or what you prefer I want you to keep something in mind I own all these processors I can play games on anything I want do I play games on my i77700k no I play them on my ryzen 77 00 I find that the overall frame pacing and smoothness is better on ryzen now minimums maximums averages and even 1% lows and. 1% lows don't really represent frame pacing very well because the fact of the matter is even if the minimums and 1% lows are very similar between processors here's the question how is the frame delivery over time is the chart and I've thought about putting these into videos the I'm I'm probably going to do one of these just of the latest and greatest chips in the I won't do the old ones but I'll do the new ones one of the things to look at is a frame pacing chart to see how smooth the frame delivery is over time are all the frames consistent let me give you a simple example a game that does 90 frames per second average could be a game that every single frame is 90 frames per second or it could be a game where half the frames are 60 and half are 100 20 that would not be a smooth experience if you get 10 or 20 frames in a row at 60 and then five frames at 120 and then 5 frames at 60 and then 20 frames at 120 and back to 60 that actually would be a horrible experience what you want is smooth delivery of frames it's one reason why I play games with vsync on besides eliminating the horizontal tearing that you get with vsync off sometimes when you turn vsync on and your games are locked to 60 frames per second you get a very smooth frame pce delivery if you have enough graphics card to give you a steady frame rate you will often times find that games are actually much smoother even at a lower frame rate if you doubt that let me share this thought with you movies are generally shown in the movie theater at 24 frames per second television is shown at 30 frames a second yet we don't see a bunch of people going oh man that's unacceptable it's horrible well it has its issues and they compensate for it with the motion blur and some other effects but keep in mind that the 24 or 30 frames per second of TV and movies are delivered smoothly they are delivered consistently frame by frame by frame and each frame has exactly the same number of milliseconds in between them in a game where the frame rate is all over the place the FRA the frame rate delivery the millisecond delay between frames is extremely variable and you can pick that out more than you can pick out the difference between 60 and 90 frames per second most of the time so when you hear that ryzen is smoother it's not necessarily that the maximums averages or even minimums are better is that the frame pacing is better and I will do a ryzen 7 versus i7 at some point or maybe a ryzen 5 versus i7 and put up frame pacing charts the thing is they require more explanation and they're hard to fit on the screen half of my viewers are on some type of mobile device or tablet and you're not going to be able to see a good frame pacing chart in my opinion on a little 5-in cell phone screen you really need to be on a larger monitor so you can see the ups and downs and the delivery over time a little teeny screen is going to be hard to see the differences anyway moving on from that point let's look at some specific numbers here watch our rx480 here now I should have said this at the very beginning I suppose but the reality is that rx480 is being kept fed by our CPU notice it's 100% it's still at 100% yep it's still at 100% okay I know I'm repeating myself but it wasn't on the FX chip ryzen is a dramatic Improvement in performance over the FX series if you want to know is it worth upgrading from FX to ryzen well from a pure CPU Performance Point of View yes absolutely without any doubt whatsoever now in many games it doesn't matter because the game does not need more CPU performance but if your question is is ryzen actually really that much faster oh yes it is it's like double the performance of FX in many respects the only reason it doesn't show up in a lot of games is because a lot of games simply are not CPU limited if you're not CPU limited then more CPU performance won't make the game Run any faster you need more graphics card not more CPU but if you're CPU limited as we were on the FX run then you don't need more graphics card then you need more CPU so ryzen is much faster the only question is are the games you play limited by that now with all that out of the way let's move on to the i72600k I really love this CPU frankly if you have a 2600k and your primary use for your computer is games and you have your processor overclocked above 4 GHz you really don't need to upgrade to anything newer this CPU is within about 20% of the performance of an i77700 k at least when it's overclocked in that regard oh these guys aren't going to last long in that regard it really is all you need to play games its single core performance is far superior to the FX processor and while it doesn't have eight cores it does have eight threads which is enough for most games in 2017 some of the biggest benefits from the 7700k over the 2600k are the default clock speeds out of the box you don't have to overclock it as far so if that's not something you're comfortable doing it has that benefit so stock speed to stock speed there's a larger difference it's just that the 2600k overclock so well it diminishes once you do that the other thing is the platform the z270 motherboard has m.2 slots and vme SSD support right out of the box it it contains modern Technologies and modern platforms the DDR for speeds do make a difference in some situations multitasking performance modern Windows performance things do run quicker and smoother on the newer platform I notice when running Windows and multitasking and doing content creation those kind of things I can see a bigger difference between the two machines gaming not as much this has enough for gaming Linked In the video description below will be the installation of this CPU onto my z68 motherboard along with the liquid cooler I put in there this only has a cheap $60 120 mm Corsair liquid cooler it's nothing overly fancy it overclock to 4.5 GHz without a problem I went into the BIOS I typed in 45 I pressed enter I rebooted it's worked perfectly ever since no fancy voltage adjustments no complicated tuning it's one of the easiest overclocks I have ever seen and look at the temperature we're running less than 60° C on the CPU on a basic budget liquid cooler that's not bad now the challenge is if you don't already own a z68 or a z77 motherboard that's the expensive part of putting together one of these machines today in 2017 not the CPU these CPUs on bidding can often be had in the 100 to $12 range buy it now they run closer to 150 on eBay at least in the beginning of 2017 it's good motherboards is you're going to spend as much if not more money on a good motherboard for this CPU as you will on the chip itself the other consideration you have is while the processor is pretty binary it either works or it doesn't you put it in your machine and it boot Bo and it runs windows or it doesn't motherboards are more finicky you might very well buy a used motherboard but do all the ports work has it ever been dropped or cracked or pressed too hard is it going to work most of the time until it gets really hot and then heat expansion is going to be an issue I don't like buying used motherboards for that reason the only circumstances under which I would like to buy a used complete system or a complete package would be if one seller is selling the motherboard and CPU and preferably cooling solution all in one package which means you have a single source of complaining if you get it and you have any issues or it doesn't work for any reason oh and he didn't see me coming from behind hey dude a mounted minigun uh excuse me kind sir you don't mind if I use that to kill all your friends do you eh you don't mind you're dead already and somebody is shooting from me that is so rude do you realize I'm being shot from behind right now while I'm killing all of his friends with a minigun well moving on from that let's take a look at the i777 100K shall we 4.7 GHz fixed clock speed now the temperatures here aren't too bad we are using about half the CPU at the moment we're running at about 62 63° C so will warm up a little bit as we play and the frame rates are very nice we're getting about 70 frames per second this game on these graphics cards on the rx480 or 580 or the GTX 1060 run really really nice at 1080p at high detail if you were to put this up to Max detail these frame rates would drop dramatically so while it's nice if you really want to play the latest 2017 games at Ultra Max detail you actually really do need a GTX 1070 these days side note what you're watching here is very common throughout this game if you go in guns blazing you're going to find that you just die over and over and over the challengeing trick is to Recon and Scout and know what you're getting into there might be 20 or 30 bad guys in this compound and there's only four of you now true you are elite special forces major kick butt Chuck Norris types and these guys don't stand a chance but the problem is if you just run in guns blazing can you kill them all before somebody sounds the alarm if somebody sounds the alarm helicopter gunships show up more cars with more troops show up yes you can kill lots of them the question is can you kill all of them sooner or later you will be overwhelmed with numbers so stealth is key planning your attacks knowing who the enemies are prefer sniping and taking out some bad guys up front now here's the cool thing you do have a suppressed sniper rifle as do most of your uh companions you can sync up up to three different targets and you can Target one of your very own and in doing so and we're going to take them out I'll hold down Q here now if I had one in my sights I could fire at one and this lets you take out four people at once cuz they will fire on your go either that or hold down q and they'll just go ahead and shoot if you are not ready to shoot at anybody see those locked containers right there right in front there we go Rebel forces you can even fire those open with your sniper rifle which will release them they'll then run around picking up any weapon they can find creating a Ruckus inside the compound although it does set the alarm off but if you're ready to go loud as I guess that's a common thing everybody says in movies and games then it creates a very convenient distraction so you can order your guys to open fire and if you can get in there and kill everybody before too many arms get sounded you might get away with it the other thing you can do although it really slows down the game is you can take your time and sink shot and snipe every single person and the compound can be completely emptied of enemies before you set foot in it making the whole thing an exercise of just walking in the front door now I have done this on more than one occasion two points number one it can take a while number two if you do it every time it does become tedious and the game will take forever to play so some balance of take out a few of the sentries find your point of entry and then stealth kill people as you run around and clean out the compound you can do it much quicker yourself than you can by doing the sink shot as you see here and of course your guys do have to have a line of sight and sometimes from the angle you're at they just don't have a shot it's also worth noting that you run the risk of the bodies being found when you kill these guys their bodies drop to the ground and they don't disappear so if you shoot somebody in the middle of a walkway and somebody else is walking along their body will be found and they'll go hm my friend's dead on the ground I better sound the alarm so you want to be careful who you shoot and where guys in Sniper post and Sentry post at the edge or outside of the walls are usually safe targets oh somebody just found a body if you look on the map on the bottom right hand corner you'll see we're hunted so they go uh-oh there's a problem there is somebody's been shot well if you're walking around your own base and you find one of your own guys lying dead on the ground from a gunshot wound you're probably under attack see these guys here they're going to run around the fence and they're going to come up and attack me now if you look on the bottom right hand of the map you'll see two green dots have joined me I have called for Rebel support I'm far enough along in the game at this point so there's you can call for Rebel support you can call for Mortar support and at this point you're kind of you're having to balance your own running and gunning with commanding your troops and then calling in additional Rebel support here's the cool thing you can do do this any way you want if you want to be complete stealth ninja many of these bases can be snuck into and you can grab the objective without clearing the base you don't have to kill the enemies I'm trying there to shoot the gate open but I don't quite have a shot the fence and the tree and everything on the way I'd have to move to Higher Ground which I think I will trying to remember what I did in this replay I the thing is is you shoot enough of these and you play it on different machines you forget what you did and what replay there is those guys are inside the wall but the wall doesn't actually continue on the very far upper right of the screen you can see it right there they can actually go around the wall as can you you can't really assault the base very easily from this angle but if you go around to that farm area there's no wall on that side you can just walk right in the interesting thing about Ghost Recon wildlands is this is not a game I thought I would have any interest in when I first got first of all I got this game as part of the Nvidia promotion with the codes currently right now in April of 2017 if you buy a 1060 70 80 or 1080 TI graphics card you get a free Redemption promo code that's good for either for Honor or for Ghost Recon wildlands and that's where I got a copy he just walked right up to me in the bushes and I killed him so I got a free copy of the game and I initially started to use it for benchmarking I just played through the first mission I probably played the first mission five or six times for different benchmarks on different graphics cards and machines and then I did the farm clear out a couple of times okay fine you know it's not my cup of tea I'm not not really sort of that stealth sniper type game person I'm more of a mass effect kind of person now what happened after that well I got bored doing the farm clear housee Mission so I thought well I'll go find a different mission to Benchmark do something different cuz you know if you keep playing the same Mission over and over it does honestly become quite boring it becomes easy because you know exactly what to expect and you just do the same thing rot repetitive every time what I made the mistake of going and doing another mission and it suddenly started to become interesting and I played a bit more and that benchmarking session ran for 45 minutes long past when I needed to be benchmarking in order to test the game and I looked down at the clock and went I might like this game oh jeez and so now here I am with dozens of hours played in the game having entirely too much fun now we'll see whether or not I finished the game there's a lot of games I've gotten halfway through and gotten bored with and not finished I can easily see how repetitive this game already is go around to compounds syn up your shots stealth a little bit then assault once you've got the numbers down enough essentially it's a clear the map game the map is filled with endless amounts of things to drive OCD people like me completely nuts click one more thing one more mission one more box one more uh cash one more Rebel Supply one more thing to take down one more side mission clean the map off discover every little thing if you're the kind of person who wants to clear the map and run the table this game has hundreds and hundreds of hours to keep you completely occupied did I get it no in fact I still think I'm out of angle I might get it there there we go so I opened up the now the few Rebels that were in there probably three Rebels that were in there I don't think I'm going to get that one they will run around and search for guns they will pick them up and start engaging the enemy now those three Rebels are not going to win they're not going to clear this place out and in fact there's an alarm Tower you can see the alarm right there they're going to sound it wait for the helicopters to show up when they do you've got to take them out because eventually more and more and more for forces will just come and of course there's just the four of you so you will eventually get overwhelmed now oh there we are hunted they're uh they're engaging as a side note this shot that you're looking at right here this is the Drone you've got a small handheld drone that you take with you and you can send it up in the air to scout out what a wonderful useful surveillance tool now there are a few locations and places where they have drone Jammers and you can't use your drone and that really cramps your style and of course it's fair I mean High security installations it makes sense there would be some oh mortars being fired and of course that's something else to consider is if your location's discovered those mortars are going to come after you I think it's funny that they're mortaring their own base watch the mortars come down now they're trying to mortar the um Rebels which are were jailed and I released with my sniper shot and so they're trying to kill them and they will eventually get them but of course they're being kept busy and this draws all of the santaa uh drug cartel guys o I'm being spotted by the oh budge that sucks I got spotted by the guy in The Sniper post over there when you're spotted you have a very limit we're engaged now and there's the helicopter you have a very limited period of time in order to hide before they G basically get positive idea on you and go yep that's them engage notice I'm giving the opening fire order to my crew members to my three teammates they are going to attack the hell and there we go I love how four guys with rifles just boom take down a helicopter just like that yes I know helicopters are fragile but they're generally not quite that fragile not big huge Blackhawk military helicopters I mean yes you can bring those down hello Blackhawk Down but wait a minute why are Santa Blanca drug cartel Rebels flying around with Blackhawk helicopters that seems a little bit sophisticated oh well I guess they kind of run half the country they'll probably have access to such things now I've been debating about whether or not to continue talking through this entire engagement cuz this does continue for another 5 or 10 minutes and this is kind of where the big time sync to this game comes in the main story missions themselves don't take that long although this is a main story mission that uh yellow marker you can see 188 M away that yellow marker is one of the story missions that being said there are so many side missions they will swamp the story missions in terms of time spent if you choose to engage them all of course there's enough rewards for all of them you get skill points you get levels up as you free Rebels and do side missions for the Rebels the rebels become more powerful you can buy powerups that for example those Rebels that we released from the jail cell they become more skilled with their guns they get more Health points they're more accurate with their here we are we're going to run around the fence that I talked about earlier simply because there's no other way in so we're going to run around oh and I'm going to spot and see if we can kill there we go why I'm bothering to sink with him I don't know I could just pull my gun out and shoot him but you know I'm funny like that sometimes this is why I'm now putting timestamps in my video at least for the longer videos this is over 30 minutes so there'll be time stamps down in the video description below if you don't want to see the rest of this battle well you can click the time stamp to go to the results but since I'm putting time stamps and it's my channel and I can do what I want you're going to get to see the rest of this unless you fast forward which is fine now we're going to sink our shots sink shot try saying that three times fast s uhoh there are some that's not oh great they just drove right by me and now we have to kill them quickly but we're engaged again we were only hunted before and thankfully we are awesome we're going to kill these guys but of course this is going to and because now we're engaged again they've gotten a positive ID all this is going to do is bring another helicopter gunship down on us now I am not far enough into the game and I'm not into the world difficulty level areas where you get completely swamped very quickly unless you're engaging unit ad forces what are unitad forces they're purple these guys are orange essentially the orange ones are the drug cartel guys they're rough and they do have helicopters and they do have mortars but ultimately at the end of the day if you kill them you're fine and you move on with life Unidad is actually the Bolivian government's military and once they engage with you if you don't kill them all and flee the area rapidly more and more will come and there's four levels of Unidad patrols and basically once it gets to the top level they're going to be sending tanks after you I mean you're just you're just not going to survive that well they're not tanks per se they're armored personnel carriers with 20 millimeter Auto cannons but they're explosive shells and they might as well be tanks because even if you try to flee in a vehicle they'll destroy your vehicles pretty darn quickly hey that looks like some blood from somebody I killed where' the body go in any case that sounds scarier than it is the reality is with Unidad there is actually a Unidad Patrol icon in the upper right hand corner that lets you know how many are currently pursuing you it warns you that uh they're locked on to you you can see them blinking on the map and basically your job is to escape the area and get away from them this right here these are supplies you can tag these in all this is one of those time sync things these are all over the map what they do is they give you uh points towards food uh tools um Fuel and these make the rebels stronger basically you're tagging the supplies for the rebels to come back and pick up and each one that you get slowly increments the rebel skill levels and Powers just a little bit higher now this thing I'm picking up here this is another thing it's a metal it gives you uh skills this for example is the skill stable AIM now there's these kind of rewards and medals all over the map and as you pick those up your abilities and skills not just for you but your squad will get better uh Vehicles you drive will take less damage Vehicles you shoot at will take more damage your squadmates will take less damage revives are faster carry more ammo basically you start off relatively weak and you become a walking fourman and Rambo team by the time the game's over it gives you something to do after all you're running around Bolivia acting like Rambo except of course you can't actually act like Rambo because if you did that you would die now here's the funny thing if you actually watch the dialogue on the screen download started mission complete it makes a big to-do of quick get the data fast oh wait we've killed everybody the cool thing as I said before you can stealth sneak into this base maybe only knocking out one or two guys who are in your way get the information and stealth sneak out and you don't have to clean the base out and it probably would be faster to do that than it would be to actually clean the base out long story short play the game however you want there's multiple ways to accomplish uh what your objective is the only main criteria is you have to get to that computer and press e to hack and download the documents how you get there what you do in the process is entirely up to you and with that being said let's move on to the results FX 8300 averaged 41 frames per second with a minimum of 29 and a Max of 71 notice the FX is dramatically different than the other three CPUs here I talked about that extensively at the beginning and if by chance you fast forward to the results without actually watching this entire 40-minute video then at least go back and watch the first 5 minutes or so during the FX 8300 commentary where I talk about why those numbers are where they are now the green bars are the average frame rate 41 62 59 and 67 the i77700 K is of course our fastest processor here but it should it's the newest highest clocked most advanced architecture of any of these chips the ryzen 5600 is a couple of frames per second slower but it is worth noting it's a lot less expensive that is a $250 processor instead of a $350 processor and it's got 50% more cores although they don't really matter for this game but they will in others and it's nice for multitasking it's worth noting that you would get the exact same performance from a ryzen 5 1500x at 4.0 GHz same cooler same setup same motherboard would produce exactly the same performance on a 1500x at 4 GHz as this and that processor is only $190 almost half the price of the 7700k for only 5 frames per second Less on average now the 2600k is not far behind only three frames behind the 1600x at 59 9 frames per second now sure the 7700k is 8 frames per second faster yes there is a difference between the 2600 K and the 7700k the question is if you have a 2600k and you've had it for 6 years now since new by chance and you have it overclocked or you haven't but you could just go spend $60 on a nice liquid cooler and overclock it to 4.5 GHz or more you would basically have 90% of the performance of the 7700 K using a 6-year-old processor basically the 2600k is awesome and the 7700k should be embarrassed by these results because 6 years separates those two processors and there's only about a 10% difference between minimum and average frame rate between those two chips of all these processors if I had to buy one new tomorrow in my opinion the deal is the ryzen 5600x or as I said before the ryzen 5600 because use the included stock cooler at 3.7 GHz and frankly you'll get about 60 frames per second and you'll save a ton of money in the process like this video if you like it share it with your friends if you loved it remember to subscribe to my Channel with the big huge red button directly below post your comments below the video and reviews game performance videos and other cool stuff thank you so much for watching I'll see you in the next videohello and welcome to Tech deals CPU performance comparison on four different computers we are testing two old and two new processors today the AMD FX 8300 the AMD ryzen 5600x the Intel i7 2600k and the i77700k please note that the clock speeds you see on the screen are overclocked clock speeds they are fixed there is no Turbo there is no variability so each of the processors is running constant at those speeds the two older systems have DDR 3600 and the two newer systems have ddr4 3200 MHz memory all four computers have 16 gigs of system RAM installed an AMD RX 488 GB graphics card 1080p resolution and you can see the detail settings there on the screen which will vary from game to game fraps was used for the game performance numbers you'll see at the end of this video but it was not used to record the video you're going to watch instead amd's relive software is used to record the gameplay very very small performance penalty at most 5% so if you are streaming or recording your gameplay this is exactly what you should expect to see if you are not add about 5% to the final numbers the numbers in green at the top left corner of the screen are from MSI After Burner a free program you can download and run on virtually any graph graphics card to get real time information on what your computer is doing first up we have the FX 8300 CPU now as you watch this I want you to pay attention to the GPU usage the first line in the MSI After Burner numbers the rx480 that first percentage there watch the percentage it is not holding at 100% what does this mean we are CPU limited the CPU is not powerful enough to feed the game to the graphics card to allow the graphics card to become saturated what does this mean putting a faster graphics card in would not improve the performance of this game this is a very important Point many people don't know do I need to upgrade my graphics card do I need to upgrade my CPU why is this game not running faster this is what this video series is designed to answer now in many of the other games that I have shown in this video series The Witcher 3 is a good example the CPUs don't matter because they're not the limit to Performance the graphics card is this game Ghost Recon wildlands wants good CPU performance and the FX 8300 just doesn't have it now if you look at the percentage of CPU being used you'll notice it's running around 75% Ghost Recon uses six cores or six threads it is one of those new generation of games Battlefield 1 is another good example Ghost Recon is now another that absolutely wants more than four cores it will run on four cores it runs better on six it does not however really need eight although Eight's a nice round number for it now it's worth noting that when we look at the i7 results the i7 only has four cores but it has eight threads it simulates eight cores but it doesn't really have eight cores now the R5 1600x does and you're going to see some nice results here at the end of this video from that but coming back to the fx-8300 now this CPU the whole FX series started about 5 years ago with the 8100 this is a refreshed version of that chip we're running at 4.2 GHz overclock speed and really when it comes down to it it just doesn't have the per core performance to provide what this game needs in many other games in many other tests it's a good processor these FX 8300s can now be purchased for less than $100 especially in the summer and fall of 2017 I fully expect you'll find some amazing deals on CPU motherboard and RAM because as people upgrade to ryzen 5 ryzen 7 and i7s people are going to be selling their FX 8300 series chips now it's not just the 8300 this includes the 8320 8350 8370 they're all in the same position it's worth noting all the fx8 core chips are the same processor the only difference is clock speed now this processor is overclocked so in 8 350 for example set to 4.2 GHz will be exactly the same speed so don't think well gee if I just buy a faster version of this chip I'll solve my problems now if you ran the clock speed faster if you were running this at 4.5 or 4.7 yes it would be a bit better but not a lot better we're talking a couple of percentage points in terms of CPU power if you watch the graphics performance bounce around we're not short a couple of percent of C CPU power we're short a lot of CPU power the per core performance of this chip simply does not hold water for CPU intensive games in 2017 and Ghost Recon wildlands wants lots of CPU power having said that let's take a look at some of the other numbers first now looking at our rx480 notice that the temperature of the card is modest but the fan speed is next to nothing now this is a factory overclock card running at 1303 me which is really nice but the Fan's not turning because the GPU is not getting 100% utilization normally that fan would be turning faster it's slower because the GPU is not staying up all the time vram right at 4 GB of vram now a 4 gig card even a 3 gig C is fine for this game I have tested it on the GTX 1063 gig card it's fine that's not an issue the main system RAM usage I'd like to call that out here we're currently using about 8 GB of Main main system Ram now a lot of people are going to look at that and go great all I need is 8 gigs of RAM 16's a waste of money well that's nice but you'd be wrong that's how much RAM the game and windows is currently using for active loaded programs it doesn't account for certain background tasks and system Services it doesn't count for your swap file it doesn't account for the fact that Windows needs to have some disc cash space available this game will not run this smooth even on this processor with 8 gigs of RAM you really want to have 16 so if you only have eight well yes it will run but it will not be as smooth please note that the jump from 8 to 16 gigs of RAM doesn't make your average frame rate substantially faster it lifts the minimums it'll lift the 1% number your overall smoothness and lagginess will improve tremendously by having more RAM of course having just said that look we're getting 40 40 frames 36 35 frames per second at the moment now normally this is the part where I would cut to the next CPU but I want to leave a little bit more of this footage in here so you can see this fx-8300 is really the keynote of this uh gameplay of course the i77700k is going to play this game fine frankly the ryzen 5 is going to play it fine as well this is the one you need to watch the most because if you currently have an fx-8300 and you're struggling in the latest generation of games the CPU is why more than your graphics card putting a modern graphics card in this is is not going to allow you to run all current games smoothly because you'll be CPU limited and normally the advice is CPU is not that important in fact if you watch my Witcher 3 comparison I specifically state in that video that all that really matters is your graphics card if you have any reasonable four core CPU from the past five or 6 years at 4 GHz or higher whicher three does not care that's true it doesn't Ghost Recon Wildland does this is only going to continue to become more and more true as we get more games that use more and more cores as I said this one uses six we're going to be seeing games that absolutely will uh take full use of eight here in the coming years in the next maybe 2 to 3 years that's going to become a very common thing this CPU is going to struggle but wait you say isn't this an eight thread chip well yes but the per cor performance of this chip is frankly abysmal the only only saving grace of this processor is the fact that it's got eight threads when so many people don't so many people are running say for example i5s that only have four threads and so in highly threaded games the eight threads make up for it but when new games start wanting more than four threads the low per core performance of the FX really starts to be felt now I don't want to go on an fx bashing session here because the fact of the matter is I just built this FX 8300 system a few few months ago it's a $600 build Linked In the description below and to be completely honest with you with the exception of Battlefield 1 with the exception of Ghost Recon wildlands and a couple of other games the vast majority of games play very very well on this processor so it depends upon what you want to play and and what you're looking for this is why MSI After Burner is such a useful tool it lets you know why is your system not running faster what is the Benchmark what is the limit it's easy to say well just buy the best of everything well sure if you have all the money in the world knock yourself out but if you don't what do you need to upgrade graphics card or CPU watch those percentages look for how many cores are being used look for whether your graphics cards utilized is your vram full is your main system Ram full why is your system not fast use MSI After Burner and it will usually give you a really good indication of what you need to replace in order to get better performance all right that's enough of the FX processor let jump to the R5 1600x now I've covered the ryzen processors extensively on my channel link to those playlists in the video description below now this is the 1600x it's a $250 processor six cores 12 threads it is a great CPU it is currently running at a fixed 4.0 GHz now this does take a good cooler to get it there the stock cooler on the r516 will generally run it at 3.7 which is a 7 1 12% clock speed deficit does that matter for most games no now that's the deal is the 1,600 at 3.7 GHz using the included cooler $220 plus $100 for a b350 motherboard for $320 six cores 12 threads amazing performance to get to 4 GHz I have a 240 mm liquid cooler now if you're okay to spend more money to get more performance you certainly can this runs very very well totally stable and everything at 4 GHz $250 for the CPU plus $100 for the liquid cooler plus a motherboard $100 for a b350 or 150 for an x370 if you care about the extra features on the x370 and you've got yourself an amazing value for the money is it faster than the i77700k no but it's often times smoother now it doesn't always reflect in the benchmarks I have to say that one of the problems with running benchmarks is it's a very cold calculating number and the minimums the maximums the average and even the upcoming 1% and. 1% lows don't really represent frame pacing very well because the fact of the matter is even if the minimums and 1% lows are very similar between processors here's the question how is the frame delivery over time is the chart and I've thought about putting these into videos the I'm I'm probably going to do one of these just of the latest and greatest chips in the I won't do the old ones but I'll do the new ones one of the things to look at is a frame pacing chart to see how smooth the frame delivery is over time are all the frames consistent let me give you a simple example a game that does 90 frames per second average could be a game that every single frame is 90 frames per second or it could be a game where half the frames are 60 and half are 100 20 that would not be a smooth experience if you get 10 or 20 frames in a row at 60 and then five frames at 120 and then 5 frames at 60 and then 20 frames at 120 and back to 60 that actually would be a horrible experience what you want is smooth delivery of frames it's one reason why I play games with vsync on besides eliminating the horizontal tearing that you get with vsync off sometimes when you turn vsync on and your games are locked to 60 frames per second you get a very smooth frame pce delivery if you have enough graphics card to give you a steady frame rate you will often times find that games are actually much smoother even at a lower frame rate if you doubt that let me share this thought with you movies are generally shown in the movie theater at 24 frames per second television is shown at 30 frames a second yet we don't see a bunch of people going oh man that's unacceptable it's horrible well it has its issues and they compensate for it with the motion blur and some other effects but keep in mind that the 24 or 30 frames per second of TV and movies are delivered smoothly they are delivered consistently frame by frame by frame and each frame has exactly the same number of milliseconds in between them in a game where the frame rate is all over the place the FRA the frame rate delivery the millisecond delay between frames is extremely variable and you can pick that out more than you can pick out the difference between 60 and 90 frames per second most of the time so when you hear that ryzen is smoother it's not necessarily that the maximums averages or even minimums are better is that the frame pacing is better and I will do a ryzen 7 versus i7 at some point or maybe a ryzen 5 versus i7 and put up frame pacing charts the thing is they require more explanation and they're hard to fit on the screen half of my viewers are on some type of mobile device or tablet and you're not going to be able to see a good frame pacing chart in my opinion on a little 5-in cell phone screen you really need to be on a larger monitor so you can see the ups and downs and the delivery over time a little teeny screen is going to be hard to see the differences anyway moving on from that point let's look at some specific numbers here watch our rx480 here now I should have said this at the very beginning I suppose but the reality is that rx480 is being kept fed by our CPU notice it's 100% it's still at 100% yep it's still at 100% okay I know I'm repeating myself but it wasn't on the FX chip ryzen is a dramatic Improvement in performance over the FX series if you want to know is it worth upgrading from FX to ryzen well from a pure CPU Performance Point of View yes absolutely without any doubt whatsoever now in many games it doesn't matter because the game does not need more CPU performance but if your question is is ryzen actually really that much faster oh yes it is it's like double the performance of FX in many respects the only reason it doesn't show up in a lot of games is because a lot of games simply are not CPU limited if you're not CPU limited then more CPU performance won't make the game Run any faster you need more graphics card not more CPU but if you're CPU limited as we were on the FX run then you don't need more graphics card then you need more CPU so ryzen is much faster the only question is are the games you play limited by that now with all that out of the way let's move on to the i72600k I really love this CPU frankly if you have a 2600k and your primary use for your computer is games and you have your processor overclocked above 4 GHz you really don't need to upgrade to anything newer this CPU is within about 20% of the performance of an i77700 k at least when it's overclocked in that regard oh these guys aren't going to last long in that regard it really is all you need to play games its single core performance is far superior to the FX processor and while it doesn't have eight cores it does have eight threads which is enough for most games in 2017 some of the biggest benefits from the 7700k over the 2600k are the default clock speeds out of the box you don't have to overclock it as far so if that's not something you're comfortable doing it has that benefit so stock speed to stock speed there's a larger difference it's just that the 2600k overclock so well it diminishes once you do that the other thing is the platform the z270 motherboard has m.2 slots and vme SSD support right out of the box it it contains modern Technologies and modern platforms the DDR for speeds do make a difference in some situations multitasking performance modern Windows performance things do run quicker and smoother on the newer platform I notice when running Windows and multitasking and doing content creation those kind of things I can see a bigger difference between the two machines gaming not as much this has enough for gaming Linked In the video description below will be the installation of this CPU onto my z68 motherboard along with the liquid cooler I put in there this only has a cheap $60 120 mm Corsair liquid cooler it's nothing overly fancy it overclock to 4.5 GHz without a problem I went into the BIOS I typed in 45 I pressed enter I rebooted it's worked perfectly ever since no fancy voltage adjustments no complicated tuning it's one of the easiest overclocks I have ever seen and look at the temperature we're running less than 60° C on the CPU on a basic budget liquid cooler that's not bad now the challenge is if you don't already own a z68 or a z77 motherboard that's the expensive part of putting together one of these machines today in 2017 not the CPU these CPUs on bidding can often be had in the 100 to $12 range buy it now they run closer to 150 on eBay at least in the beginning of 2017 it's good motherboards is you're going to spend as much if not more money on a good motherboard for this CPU as you will on the chip itself the other consideration you have is while the processor is pretty binary it either works or it doesn't you put it in your machine and it boot Bo and it runs windows or it doesn't motherboards are more finicky you might very well buy a used motherboard but do all the ports work has it ever been dropped or cracked or pressed too hard is it going to work most of the time until it gets really hot and then heat expansion is going to be an issue I don't like buying used motherboards for that reason the only circumstances under which I would like to buy a used complete system or a complete package would be if one seller is selling the motherboard and CPU and preferably cooling solution all in one package which means you have a single source of complaining if you get it and you have any issues or it doesn't work for any reason oh and he didn't see me coming from behind hey dude a mounted minigun uh excuse me kind sir you don't mind if I use that to kill all your friends do you eh you don't mind you're dead already and somebody is shooting from me that is so rude do you realize I'm being shot from behind right now while I'm killing all of his friends with a minigun well moving on from that let's take a look at the i777 100K shall we 4.7 GHz fixed clock speed now the temperatures here aren't too bad we are using about half the CPU at the moment we're running at about 62 63° C so will warm up a little bit as we play and the frame rates are very nice we're getting about 70 frames per second this game on these graphics cards on the rx480 or 580 or the GTX 1060 run really really nice at 1080p at high detail if you were to put this up to Max detail these frame rates would drop dramatically so while it's nice if you really want to play the latest 2017 games at Ultra Max detail you actually really do need a GTX 1070 these days side note what you're watching here is very common throughout this game if you go in guns blazing you're going to find that you just die over and over and over the challengeing trick is to Recon and Scout and know what you're getting into there might be 20 or 30 bad guys in this compound and there's only four of you now true you are elite special forces major kick butt Chuck Norris types and these guys don't stand a chance but the problem is if you just run in guns blazing can you kill them all before somebody sounds the alarm if somebody sounds the alarm helicopter gunships show up more cars with more troops show up yes you can kill lots of them the question is can you kill all of them sooner or later you will be overwhelmed with numbers so stealth is key planning your attacks knowing who the enemies are prefer sniping and taking out some bad guys up front now here's the cool thing you do have a suppressed sniper rifle as do most of your uh companions you can sync up up to three different targets and you can Target one of your very own and in doing so and we're going to take them out I'll hold down Q here now if I had one in my sights I could fire at one and this lets you take out four people at once cuz they will fire on your go either that or hold down q and they'll just go ahead and shoot if you are not ready to shoot at anybody see those locked containers right there right in front there we go Rebel forces you can even fire those open with your sniper rifle which will release them they'll then run around picking up any weapon they can find creating a Ruckus inside the compound although it does set the alarm off but if you're ready to go loud as I guess that's a common thing everybody says in movies and games then it creates a very convenient distraction so you can order your guys to open fire and if you can get in there and kill everybody before too many arms get sounded you might get away with it the other thing you can do although it really slows down the game is you can take your time and sink shot and snipe every single person and the compound can be completely emptied of enemies before you set foot in it making the whole thing an exercise of just walking in the front door now I have done this on more than one occasion two points number one it can take a while number two if you do it every time it does become tedious and the game will take forever to play so some balance of take out a few of the sentries find your point of entry and then stealth kill people as you run around and clean out the compound you can do it much quicker yourself than you can by doing the sink shot as you see here and of course your guys do have to have a line of sight and sometimes from the angle you're at they just don't have a shot it's also worth noting that you run the risk of the bodies being found when you kill these guys their bodies drop to the ground and they don't disappear so if you shoot somebody in the middle of a walkway and somebody else is walking along their body will be found and they'll go hm my friend's dead on the ground I better sound the alarm so you want to be careful who you shoot and where guys in Sniper post and Sentry post at the edge or outside of the walls are usually safe targets oh somebody just found a body if you look on the map on the bottom right hand corner you'll see we're hunted so they go uh-oh there's a problem there is somebody's been shot well if you're walking around your own base and you find one of your own guys lying dead on the ground from a gunshot wound you're probably under attack see these guys here they're going to run around the fence and they're going to come up and attack me now if you look on the bottom right hand of the map you'll see two green dots have joined me I have called for Rebel support I'm far enough along in the game at this point so there's you can call for Rebel support you can call for Mortar support and at this point you're kind of you're having to balance your own running and gunning with commanding your troops and then calling in additional Rebel support here's the cool thing you can do do this any way you want if you want to be complete stealth ninja many of these bases can be snuck into and you can grab the objective without clearing the base you don't have to kill the enemies I'm trying there to shoot the gate open but I don't quite have a shot the fence and the tree and everything on the way I'd have to move to Higher Ground which I think I will trying to remember what I did in this replay I the thing is is you shoot enough of these and you play it on different machines you forget what you did and what replay there is those guys are inside the wall but the wall doesn't actually continue on the very far upper right of the screen you can see it right there they can actually go around the wall as can you you can't really assault the base very easily from this angle but if you go around to that farm area there's no wall on that side you can just walk right in the interesting thing about Ghost Recon wildlands is this is not a game I thought I would have any interest in when I first got first of all I got this game as part of the Nvidia promotion with the codes currently right now in April of 2017 if you buy a 1060 70 80 or 1080 TI graphics card you get a free Redemption promo code that's good for either for Honor or for Ghost Recon wildlands and that's where I got a copy he just walked right up to me in the bushes and I killed him so I got a free copy of the game and I initially started to use it for benchmarking I just played through the first mission I probably played the first mission five or six times for different benchmarks on different graphics cards and machines and then I did the farm clear out a couple of times okay fine you know it's not my cup of tea I'm not not really sort of that stealth sniper type game person I'm more of a mass effect kind of person now what happened after that well I got bored doing the farm clear housee Mission so I thought well I'll go find a different mission to Benchmark do something different cuz you know if you keep playing the same Mission over and over it does honestly become quite boring it becomes easy because you know exactly what to expect and you just do the same thing rot repetitive every time what I made the mistake of going and doing another mission and it suddenly started to become interesting and I played a bit more and that benchmarking session ran for 45 minutes long past when I needed to be benchmarking in order to test the game and I looked down at the clock and went I might like this game oh jeez and so now here I am with dozens of hours played in the game having entirely too much fun now we'll see whether or not I finished the game there's a lot of games I've gotten halfway through and gotten bored with and not finished I can easily see how repetitive this game already is go around to compounds syn up your shots stealth a little bit then assault once you've got the numbers down enough essentially it's a clear the map game the map is filled with endless amounts of things to drive OCD people like me completely nuts click one more thing one more mission one more box one more uh cash one more Rebel Supply one more thing to take down one more side mission clean the map off discover every little thing if you're the kind of person who wants to clear the map and run the table this game has hundreds and hundreds of hours to keep you completely occupied did I get it no in fact I still think I'm out of angle I might get it there there we go so I opened up the now the few Rebels that were in there probably three Rebels that were in there I don't think I'm going to get that one they will run around and search for guns they will pick them up and start engaging the enemy now those three Rebels are not going to win they're not going to clear this place out and in fact there's an alarm Tower you can see the alarm right there they're going to sound it wait for the helicopters to show up when they do you've got to take them out because eventually more and more and more for forces will just come and of course there's just the four of you so you will eventually get overwhelmed now oh there we are hunted they're uh they're engaging as a side note this shot that you're looking at right here this is the Drone you've got a small handheld drone that you take with you and you can send it up in the air to scout out what a wonderful useful surveillance tool now there are a few locations and places where they have drone Jammers and you can't use your drone and that really cramps your style and of course it's fair I mean High security installations it makes sense there would be some oh mortars being fired and of course that's something else to consider is if your location's discovered those mortars are going to come after you I think it's funny that they're mortaring their own base watch the mortars come down now they're trying to mortar the um Rebels which are were jailed and I released with my sniper shot and so they're trying to kill them and they will eventually get them but of course they're being kept busy and this draws all of the santaa uh drug cartel guys o I'm being spotted by the oh budge that sucks I got spotted by the guy in The Sniper post over there when you're spotted you have a very limit we're engaged now and there's the helicopter you have a very limited period of time in order to hide before they G basically get positive idea on you and go yep that's them engage notice I'm giving the opening fire order to my crew members to my three teammates they are going to attack the hell and there we go I love how four guys with rifles just boom take down a helicopter just like that yes I know helicopters are fragile but they're generally not quite that fragile not big huge Blackhawk military helicopters I mean yes you can bring those down hello Blackhawk Down but wait a minute why are Santa Blanca drug cartel Rebels flying around with Blackhawk helicopters that seems a little bit sophisticated oh well I guess they kind of run half the country they'll probably have access to such things now I've been debating about whether or not to continue talking through this entire engagement cuz this does continue for another 5 or 10 minutes and this is kind of where the big time sync to this game comes in the main story missions themselves don't take that long although this is a main story mission that uh yellow marker you can see 188 M away that yellow marker is one of the story missions that being said there are so many side missions they will swamp the story missions in terms of time spent if you choose to engage them all of course there's enough rewards for all of them you get skill points you get levels up as you free Rebels and do side missions for the Rebels the rebels become more powerful you can buy powerups that for example those Rebels that we released from the jail cell they become more skilled with their guns they get more Health points they're more accurate with their here we are we're going to run around the fence that I talked about earlier simply because there's no other way in so we're going to run around oh and I'm going to spot and see if we can kill there we go why I'm bothering to sink with him I don't know I could just pull my gun out and shoot him but you know I'm funny like that sometimes this is why I'm now putting timestamps in my video at least for the longer videos this is over 30 minutes so there'll be time stamps down in the video description below if you don't want to see the rest of this battle well you can click the time stamp to go to the results but since I'm putting time stamps and it's my channel and I can do what I want you're going to get to see the rest of this unless you fast forward which is fine now we're going to sink our shots sink shot try saying that three times fast s uhoh there are some that's not oh great they just drove right by me and now we have to kill them quickly but we're engaged again we were only hunted before and thankfully we are awesome we're going to kill these guys but of course this is going to and because now we're engaged again they've gotten a positive ID all this is going to do is bring another helicopter gunship down on us now I am not far enough into the game and I'm not into the world difficulty level areas where you get completely swamped very quickly unless you're engaging unit ad forces what are unitad forces they're purple these guys are orange essentially the orange ones are the drug cartel guys they're rough and they do have helicopters and they do have mortars but ultimately at the end of the day if you kill them you're fine and you move on with life Unidad is actually the Bolivian government's military and once they engage with you if you don't kill them all and flee the area rapidly more and more will come and there's four levels of Unidad patrols and basically once it gets to the top level they're going to be sending tanks after you I mean you're just you're just not going to survive that well they're not tanks per se they're armored personnel carriers with 20 millimeter Auto cannons but they're explosive shells and they might as well be tanks because even if you try to flee in a vehicle they'll destroy your vehicles pretty darn quickly hey that looks like some blood from somebody I killed where' the body go in any case that sounds scarier than it is the reality is with Unidad there is actually a Unidad Patrol icon in the upper right hand corner that lets you know how many are currently pursuing you it warns you that uh they're locked on to you you can see them blinking on the map and basically your job is to escape the area and get away from them this right here these are supplies you can tag these in all this is one of those time sync things these are all over the map what they do is they give you uh points towards food uh tools um Fuel and these make the rebels stronger basically you're tagging the supplies for the rebels to come back and pick up and each one that you get slowly increments the rebel skill levels and Powers just a little bit higher now this thing I'm picking up here this is another thing it's a metal it gives you uh skills this for example is the skill stable AIM now there's these kind of rewards and medals all over the map and as you pick those up your abilities and skills not just for you but your squad will get better uh Vehicles you drive will take less damage Vehicles you shoot at will take more damage your squadmates will take less damage revives are faster carry more ammo basically you start off relatively weak and you become a walking fourman and Rambo team by the time the game's over it gives you something to do after all you're running around Bolivia acting like Rambo except of course you can't actually act like Rambo because if you did that you would die now here's the funny thing if you actually watch the dialogue on the screen download started mission complete it makes a big to-do of quick get the data fast oh wait we've killed everybody the cool thing as I said before you can stealth sneak into this base maybe only knocking out one or two guys who are in your way get the information and stealth sneak out and you don't have to clean the base out and it probably would be faster to do that than it would be to actually clean the base out long story short play the game however you want there's multiple ways to accomplish uh what your objective is the only main criteria is you have to get to that computer and press e to hack and download the documents how you get there what you do in the process is entirely up to you and with that being said let's move on to the results FX 8300 averaged 41 frames per second with a minimum of 29 and a Max of 71 notice the FX is dramatically different than the other three CPUs here I talked about that extensively at the beginning and if by chance you fast forward to the results without actually watching this entire 40-minute video then at least go back and watch the first 5 minutes or so during the FX 8300 commentary where I talk about why those numbers are where they are now the green bars are the average frame rate 41 62 59 and 67 the i77700 K is of course our fastest processor here but it should it's the newest highest clocked most advanced architecture of any of these chips the ryzen 5600 is a couple of frames per second slower but it is worth noting it's a lot less expensive that is a $250 processor instead of a $350 processor and it's got 50% more cores although they don't really matter for this game but they will in others and it's nice for multitasking it's worth noting that you would get the exact same performance from a ryzen 5 1500x at 4.0 GHz same cooler same setup same motherboard would produce exactly the same performance on a 1500x at 4 GHz as this and that processor is only $190 almost half the price of the 7700k for only 5 frames per second Less on average now the 2600k is not far behind only three frames behind the 1600x at 59 9 frames per second now sure the 7700k is 8 frames per second faster yes there is a difference between the 2600 K and the 7700k the question is if you have a 2600k and you've had it for 6 years now since new by chance and you have it overclocked or you haven't but you could just go spend $60 on a nice liquid cooler and overclock it to 4.5 GHz or more you would basically have 90% of the performance of the 7700 K using a 6-year-old processor basically the 2600k is awesome and the 7700k should be embarrassed by these results because 6 years separates those two processors and there's only about a 10% difference between minimum and average frame rate between those two chips of all these processors if I had to buy one new tomorrow in my opinion the deal is the ryzen 5600x or as I said before the ryzen 5600 because use the included stock cooler at 3.7 GHz and frankly you'll get about 60 frames per second and you'll save a ton of money in the process like this video if you like it share it with your friends if you loved it remember to subscribe to my
