The World of British Snacks: A Journey of Taste and Texture

As I opened the package sent to me by Little Miss A, I couldn't wait to dive into the world of British snacks that she had so generously shared with me. The first thing that caught my eye was a gummy bear-like snack that tasted exactly like its colorful packaging suggested - a delicious flavor reminiscent of punch or cherry. This snack reminded me of some candies I had in the Netherlands, specifically pigs and panda bears that were both fluffy and fun to eat. But what really stood out was the yellow part, which was just like a gummy bear and tasted lemony.

As I continued to explore the package, I came across milk bottles that smelled like yogurt - yes, you read that right! These small, white snacks were slightly gummy in texture and had a flavor that was both familiar and unique. They reminded me of fried eggs, but with a fluffy gummy bear texture that was surprising and delightful. Next up was a snack called "milk bottles" (not to be confused with the candies), which had a very condensed milk flavor that was both sweet and savory.

One of the most memorable snacks from the package was a fried fishy smell, but don't let that fool you - it wasn't unpleasant at all. In fact, it was quite fascinating! The snack itself looked like a harmless chip with a slightly domed shape, but its real charm lay in its ability to leave a tingling sensation on your tongue. It turned out that this was due to the presence of pop rocks, which left a crunchy sound and a fizzy feeling that was both fun and unique.

After enjoying several more snacks, including skips (which I had to open my mouth wide for), space Raiders (a puffed corn-based snack with a vinegary onion flavor), and Little Miss A's favorite, Refreshers (filled with sherbet and leaving a delightful punch of sourness when bitten into), I was struck by the sheer variety and creativity of British snacks. From sweet treats like gummy bears to savory snacks like Funions, each one had its own unique texture, flavor, and reaction - making for an unforgettable snacking experience.

Throughout my journey through the world of British snacks, I was constantly amazed by the imagination and innovation that went into creating these tasty morsels. Whether it was a snack shaped like a football or wrapped in clear cellophane, each one had its own special charm that made me want to try more. there's lots to eat I am also armed with a cup of hot tea which sadly doesn't have any milk because you know milk and I yeah still delicious though and oh my goodness it is beginning to snow I don't think you'll be able to see see it I love snow though ching ching ching ching ching ching ch ch ch Ching that was for those of you that have never seen my snow song dance you're welcome all right let's eat this looks wild monster Munch Little Miss said it's quite popular but look at this flavor pickled onion I guess there's other flavors there's flaming hot and roast beef oo it smells like salt and vinegar mixed with onion it definitely smells like pickles and boy they weren't kidding when they were saying they were Mega and big look at I think that's supposed to be the monster paw at the doy M and you know that's pretty good as you can hear it was very crunchy and light kind of Corn based snack that tastes a bit like kind of like the base of a cheese puff or maybe like a funion or something but the flavor is very very unique I would say it actually tastes a lot like a McDonald's hamburger because it has that onion pickle flavor it's actually pretty good it tastes better than it smells kind of like salt and vinegar chips which I love they have a very strong kind of pungent vinegary odor but when you taste it it's just delicious I love pink surprise and that was definitely a surprise and a delicious one at that I have some water to clear my palette while my tea is hot I'm going to have one of these this is my mcvities again or mcvities and these are called hop knobs oh they smell delicious smell rich and dark chocolatey oh wow it's really starting to dump look they look like an oatmeal cookie and then on the bottom they're dipped in beautiful dark chocolate oh it's going to be good so good oh my gosh so when you dunk it just for a second the light coating of dark chocolate just melts slightly it's such a pleasure because it's warm and melty similar to some of the other UK snacks I've had in the past the oatmeal cookie is very coarse in my whales video I had crackers called odies I'll put all these links to the videos that I'm talking about down below that had a very they weren't sweet they were Savory had a very kind of coarse texture similar to this and it's quite good I like the toothiness of it perfect level of sweetness just Divine I had something that had a simar similar name in Germany but that was a peanut a coated peanut snack and I don't think that's what this is scampy for those of you that don't know what that is is a garlicky shrimp dish it looks like this is with shrimp and lemon intensely tasty unusually knobbly I love that word knobbly it actually smells like fish and chips quite a strong smell and by the Galt of them they look a lot like a crunchy Cheeto that's what it looks like up close M I like that it's actually quite tart and the base is exactly the same as a crunchy Cheeto corny and very crunchy it does taste a bit seafoody or shrimpy mostly it tastes like kind of a lemon or Citrus flavor not really lemon but more tar it's quite good reminds me of the Christmas carol ba humbug with with our dear friend friend Scourge so mint hun bugs sounds like a classic old-fashioned kind of hard candy oh they're so beautiful look at that M pepperminty goodness I love peppermint and those are delicious yum they Roman may actually a lot of Rola which is a throat Loz that comes from Switzerland just a very faint herbal flavor but mostly it's just peppermint let me bite it and see if there's anything inside oh it's chewy in the middle wow what is it what it's like a Taffy inside oh my goodness that is so yummy so it's minty on the outside pepperminty and the inside is a caramel that's buttery and toffee like oh my gosh that is so good these are amazing twiglets look at that do original a whole lot of crunchy and a whole grain they smell like puffed rice and they look a little bit like Twigs that's awesome whoa that's crazy it's kind of bitter what is that I don't know if I like it I really like the crunch very nice hard crunch a little bit Hollow but it's very bitter it almost just like it has coffee or something on the outside I've never tasted anything like that it definitely has a Nutty kind of grainy flavor and then a very bitter of coating on the outside coffee like and a little bit kind of woer I don't think I like that it kind of reminds me slightly of nat Nat is like a fermented beans from Japan Nat has a slight bitterness as well but I love NATO it has a really nice kind of soy Saucy but this goes overboard to me bacon and eggs pretty self-explanatory Little M is that this kind of candy falls in the category of pick and mix which I guess used to be able to get in oldfashioned candy shops and you could get them in jars and you can pick and mix these are so cool so they look and smell be just like regular like gummy bearss but look at this this is so cute a little sunn side up egg and a slice of bacon oh my goodness look I'm breakfast I love the egg look at the egg on profile so adorable mhm M it tastes the texture is exactly like a gummy bear and so is a flavor delicious flavor actually kind of tastes like a like a punch or a cherry got to make sure we get some of the yolk and the white I quite like that the bottom half reminds me of some of the a little bit sour this is what it looks like the very harmless looking chip that's kind of slightly domed and uh let's give it a go here we go I didn't get any tingles wait did I do it wrong on on your tongue and let it tingle ready it doesn't really tingle it just kind of dissolves and leaves kind of a crunchy sound the trick is you have to leave your mouth open did you hear the T tingles is a little bit like pop rocks if you close your mouth then all your saliva just dissolves the little guy it does tingle your tongue the flavor is actually very similar to the knickknacks slightly fishy and a little bit tart a bit like ketchup mixed together with a seafood flavor but the tingles are kind of interesting I don't necessarily find it pleasant but it's very fun and novel and I'm glad I tried it skips tingly pra cocktail but it's required that your mouth be open I mean how attractive is that like you're walking down the street hey how's it going oh sorry I can't talk I've got a skips on my tongue Refreshers I think this is a classic British candy oh jeez I tried to get the paper off but I end up breaking it M that's really good that is scrumptious so the outside is a Taffy that's very sticky and very lemony which I love it's very similar to a lemon flavored Starburst a little bit stickier but in the middle I don't know if you can see that there's some powder in there that's a little bit fizzy and tart it fizzes and it's intensely sour really yummy called space Raiders again in pickled onion and very indicative of the packaging she said these were really popular in the 80s smells very similar to the monster Munch very strong vinegary onion smell they're alien heads how cute very similar to this this to me tastes onion ear and this doesn't taste as strong similar snack though puffed corn-based snack seasoned with a vinegar onion flavor it's good and if you're a fan of funions I think you'll really like this it's like funions with a little dose of acidity and shets wrapped in beautiful clear cellophan a little bit football shaped bit like a lemon and I don't know if you can see that it's a little bit textured see that m really nice lemon flavor especially after all those onion snacks it doesn't taste that artificial it actually tastes like there's some lemon oil in there I like it let's bite it and see if there's anything inside that's great similar to the
