2024 Trends I'm OBSESSING Over! (& you are GOING TO LOVE!)

**The Art of Rounded Furniture: A Study of Design and Style**

There's something about curved furniture that just feels right, isn't there? The way it swoops and curves, inviting us to run our hands over its sleek lines and smooth surfaces. Whether it's a sofa or an accent chair, rounded furniture has a way of making us feel like we're in for a treat. And it's not just about aesthetics – the curve itself represents something deeper, a language that speaks directly to our emotions and desires.

When we think about the history of design, curved furniture is often associated with the 1960s, a decade when style was all about boldness and statement-making. But rounded furniture has been around for much longer than that, dating back centuries to the days of ancient Greece and Rome. And yet, despite its long history, there's something quintessentially modern about it – something that feels both timeless and utterly contemporary.

Of course, one of the reasons curved furniture is so beloved is that it's just plain sexy. There's something undeniably appealing about the way a rounded sofa or chair seems to beckon us in, inviting us to sink into its soft cushions and lose ourselves in its curves. It's like a warm hug on legs – who wouldn't want that? But rounded furniture is more than just a pretty face; it's also a testament to the power of good design.

When we talk about good design, we're often talking about simplicity and restraint. We're not looking for flashy logos or bold patterns – instead, we're seeking out clean lines, minimal ornamentation, and an overall sense of understated elegance. And that's exactly what rounded furniture delivers: a sense of calm, serenity, and sophistication that's hard to find in more flashy styles.

Nowadays, you can find high-quality curved furniture pieces from all over the world – from the likes of West Elm and Pottery Barn (which offer contract-grade designs) to online retailers like Amazon. And with the rise of quiet luxury as a design movement, there's never been a better time to invest in timeless, high-quality pieces that will stand the test of time.

**Quiet Luxury: The New Benchmark**

Quiet luxury is all about simplicity, elegance, and quality. It's not about bold statements or flashy logos – instead, it's about investing your money in things that truly matter. Whether you're talking about furniture, fashion, or even art, quiet luxury is all about seeking out the finest materials, the most beautiful craftsmanship, and the most timeless designs.

For years, I've been designing my home with quiet luxury in mind – not because it's a trend, but because it's just what feels right. And I'm not alone; there are thousands of designers, architects, and style enthusiasts around the world who share my passion for this timeless aesthetic.

When we talk about quiet luxury, we're often talking about subtle nuances – like the way a beautiful piece of furniture seems to glow in the light, or the way a simple pattern can add depth and interest to a room. We're not looking for loud statements or bold declarations – instead, we're seeking out things that speak directly to our emotions and desires.

Of course, one of the challenges of quiet luxury is finding pieces that fit within your budget. But with the rise of affordable design options like H&M (which offers some stylish furniture pieces) and online retailers like Amazon, it's never been easier to invest in high-quality designs without breaking the bank.

**Quiet Luxury in Practice: My Favorite Pieces**

As someone who spends all day every day working on Pinterest and dreaming up new design ideas, I have to say that quiet luxury is my absolute favorite style. There's something about the way it combines elegance with restraint – creating a sense of calm, serenity, and sophistication that's hard to find in more flashy styles.

So what are some of my favorite pieces? Well, for starters, I'm absolutely obsessed with the Row brand – specifically their beautiful leather bags. And when it comes to furniture, there's nothing quite like a curved sofa or accent chair from West Elm (or Pottery Barn). But quiet luxury isn't just about the big-ticket items; sometimes it's the small details that really make all the difference.

Take, for example, the humble throw pillow. A simple, elegant pillow in a subtle pattern can add depth and interest to a room – without overpowering the senses or overwhelming the eye. Or take the humble air plant blanket: those soft, plush throws have been making a comeback in recent years, and I couldn't be happier.

Ultimately, quiet luxury is all about finding that perfect balance between style and substance. It's not about loud statements or flashy logos – instead, it's about investing your money in things that truly matter. And with the rise of affordable design options, there's never been a better time to invest in timeless, high-quality pieces that will stand the test of time.

**Where to Shop**

Of course, one of the best things about quiet luxury is the ease with which you can shop for it – whether online or in-store. Here are some of my favorite places to find high-quality curved furniture and stylish design elements:

* West Elm

* Pottery Barn (for their beautiful contract-grade designs)

* Amazon (for a wide range of affordable options)

* H&M (for stylish furniture pieces on a budget)

* The Row brand (for beautiful leather bags)

Whether you're shopping online or in-store, the key to finding great quiet luxury is to focus on timeless design elements – like clean lines, minimal ornamentation, and an overall sense of elegance. And with these tips and resources, you'll be well on your way to creating a space that's truly unforgettable.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and welcome back to the house of Valentina I'm Valentina and today we're going to be talking about trends that I am obsessing over oh my goodness you guys there are so many good Trends going on right now and I know we talk about how we don't like Trends and we're trying to avoid them so often but there's just some that are really just yeah they're just making me really happy and I think they're going to do the same for you whether you love them or not you're going to find a ton of inspiration in each of these and um sure you hit subscribe if you haven't already because we have an amazing community of fellow design enthusiasts who love to talk about Trends and home decor and decorating and room Renovations and everything in between and I think you'll love it here so make sure you hit subscribe let's jump into trends that I am obsessing over right now oh let's start with my favorite okay guys okay I don't think that black and white is a trend I don't think monochrome is a trend however according to the experts monochrome is trending we've been talking about it over on the living Channel because we've been seeing it happening in fashion and we've been talking about how a lot of times trends go from Fashion you find them in the home and monochrome is like crazy in like Stark black black and white so many of the paint companies this year came out with like be they've come out with the 2024 color of the year which is Cracked Pepper this is midnight oil by Benjamin Moore which is a very similar color to Cracked Pepper I know cuz I've got like every black color you can find at any store probably represented in my house cuz I love trying out paint and particularly black paint apparently but I love this color I got so excited if you haven't watched the video where we talked about the colors of the year I've got a couple actually now I'll link them down below so you can check them out but we are seeing that monochrome is on Trend and on Trend okay we're always on Trend just to be honest this is not a trend okay it's just trending which means you're just going to see more of it you're going to have more Choice when you go to the store uh you're going to have more collections to choose from and you're going to see it all the way from places like the super affordable places like hent M you'll see it at HomeGoods and then you'll also see it places like Amazon and then of course all the way up to some of my favorite designers like Noir oh my gosh one of my favorite favorite design companies their accessories and Furniture are insane and arteriors as well just freak out over what they do so you're going to see monochrome no matter what your budget is so what's fun about it is that it's really not that hard to achieve a monochrome look it a lot of it can just be done with paint right if you've already got some neutrals going on in your house you could paint your home out in a scheme like mine that's done in black and white I've got the simply white on the walls I've got the midnight oil on the fireplace you could use this color palette in your entire house you could choose a room to try it in the kitchen of course you guys know I did my kitchen my entire house is in monochrome okay I love it I think it's the best thing that's ever happened every for someone who lives in this I can tell you it's calming but then it's kind of cool as well and there's just like this vibe that it has and it's just it's just amazing I absolutely love living in monochrome so if you're wanting to try it out on a smaller scale just think about maybe switching out your pillows on your sofa going for some that in black and white think about switching up your bedding that's a really easy way to try out a new trend just switch out the do go for something that's white maybe try some black pillows I've got that combination on my bed right now and I just love it H&M is a great source for pillows and bedding and it's super affordable and if you're just trying out a trend and you're not sure like me I'm in like this can come and go I'm still going to be here it's my thing it's what makes me happy okay but if you're just trying out something and you're not sure about it sometimes doing it with some lower priced items can help it be really affordable so if you get in there and you know 6 months to a year later you're like yeah I'm ready for some more color you can add to it that's the great part about this one is you're not out because you can just simply add some color to what you already have and you've got this amazing Baseline all right next up is dark wood okay so we talked about it in some of our past Trends videos if you want to P back to those I'm going I'm going to leave a link for you down below dark wood we talked about it before and I'm like oh my gosh how cool is this I love black finishes on wood but I also think that this trend of dark wood could also include like a really rich Walnut that's really just kind of Eternal I love looking at dark stains and we love it on the floors we love it on the 've been loving it on walls and ceilings and everything else so why not have it in the furniture as well don't feel like you have to change every piece of furniture in your house you can mix wood tones in your home so don't freak you might be able to put these together with what you already have and some of you get to the point where it's been a while and you're ready to make a big update so you might need to just sell it all off and you're ready to start over it's kind of fun to play with this one let me know what you guys think because personally I can can barely talk about it I'm so excited I'm like dark wood is trending yes bring it on yes I love it that just means that every store has dark wood pieces in right now like everywhere everywhere from H&M home to West Elm Pottery Barn and then up to this designers that I love like arteriors and Noah everybody's got Darkwood pieces and even on Amazon I've been finding some amazing pieces on Amazon that are all done in a in well you guys know I'm looking for black cuz that's really what I like but they do have darker Walnut tones and darker Woods that are not all the way to Black either way either way guys there are all kinds of sources out there for this and that's what's so fun is when it's trending it doesn't mean it's going to go out of style it just means that it's super popular and so we have a lot more toys and that I am really excited about oversized art is really in I'm like what are people just like are they reading like they watching our site did they just know what I really love like I do not make this up okay I'm just seeing it everywhere it's really starting to hit mainstream decor and that's when I know it's really trending right when places like pottery Barn in West Elm starts selling really big oversized pieces of art you're just like yeah baby we're trending I'm just so excited about it because it just means that it's more accessible you can find just like with the furniture with the art you've got a plethora of choices I have bought so many pieces from Amazon I love the abstract artwork I'm able to get from there but you could also check out too is a you guys have heard me talk about too I mean we started this YouTube channel about 8 years ago and I've been talking about them since the beginning okay it's been a long time I really love deseno and you can get really big posters from them and then you can create these huge art installations which you've seen us do throughout our home and throughout our projects and this is not a paid ad we just actually really love deseno art you could also check places like Etsy that's another great source for really big oversized art and you can also have it custom made to your size to your wall I like the oversized art because it really fills out the wall it makes the space feel really Grand it gives this high impact and it just makes the room feel it makes it feel bigger and grander and you just feel the art in like a whole different way so for me I just love this style I think it's really integral to to my style and I think it's going to be a forever Trend I think we're going to be trending Forever on this one because this really is the way of Modern Art Modern Art contemporary art has always been these huge installations and so I think it's here to stay I think it's here to stay I've invested my money into it and you can do it on a budget and that's what's so cool about it curved furniture let's chat about it because I read one place I can't remember where it was I mean guys I love reading articles about this stuff I love it and sometimes I can't remember like I fall down a rabbit's hole on Pinterest I you know is it on Tik Tok or in I don't remember there was somewhere I saw one place say they thought that kurd furniture was going out and I was like you're crazy I think kurd Furniture is here to stay it is just glorious now if you don't want to do it there's nothing wrong wrong with not doing curv Furniture but when you go to places I I love to shop designer as fashion if you follow my L Channel you know I love to go to Chanel I love to go to Dior I love oh like any chance to go in any of the designer shop like I'm in I want to go see them they're still all using curved furniture and those are the kinds of stores that really they set the standard for style in every way and so for me I think the curved Furniture is just it's never going to go out of style so if you love it I think you should jump on it I think you're going to keep seeing curved furniture options for a really long time I think we're in for like a 10year haul at least ahead of us so in 10 years if you want something different you can switch out your chair but honestly I think you're going to love it for a really long time maybe even for life so for me I love it what is it about it what is it about curb Furniture it's just there's something I it's something sexual I think it is it's something so sexy about the way that they it's curved it's like the a woman's foot and a heel when it's arched just a right certain kind of way yeah there's a reason that we there's a reason that Christian lutan sells a heel shaped a certain way right there's a reason for the curve it represents something and I'll let you figure out what that is so when you put that on furniture it's just like oh yes I want it I want it I need it what is it it's just something about it it's just sexy it's just appealing to us we just love it we just want to like run our hands over it we just love rounded Furniture it's just really beautiful really really Timeless as well and it it just really never goes out of style these sofas have been around long before the 60s but man those curved those curved sofas were so in in the 60s right and we just love them we just love them it's just gorgeous so whether you want to do the whole room in it or you want to add maybe an accent chair with it you're going to be able to get Source you're going to be able to Source this furniture from anywhere now because places like Amazon have it um H&M doesn't have as many Furniture pieces that are like rounded as much because they don't have as many sofas and chairs but I do think that you could also check Wayfair love Wayfair for sourcing I also think that Pottery bar and and West Elm are also really good sources and I think the quality there the quality for price like that balance is really really good and I really love to check out West Elm and Potter bar actually to see they have contract grade Furniture so you can get a piece that's really going to stand the test of time and yeah I just think that the price point plus the quality and the options that you can customize your your colors and your Fabrics I just think it's a win for everybody finally let's talk about quiet luxury because this is a big one and it is not going anywhere I just ordered some bags by the row and a brand called songm again over on the living Channel if you're not following you got to go follow okay but we were just talking about this quiet luxury style over there as far as fashion and how that's displaying itself in the home and I think that it's just the most amazing thing ever it's really how I've been designing my home for years it's been it's been The Benchmark it's been the goal it's but been what I've been working towards for all these years and I don't think quiet luxury even though it's a term that's trending the style itself has has always been it will always always be quiet luxury is just about simple beautiful high quality pieces investing your money and things that you truly love and buying the highest quality that you can afford it's about being a little bit paired back simple not overly minimal but it can be it can be really it can be very minimal but you can also take this to a more um I wouldn't say it's ever going to be super maximal I don't think that that's really very quiet luxury it's a little bit more of loud luxury and I am starting to hear people say that term loud luxury in fashion which means we're going to see it here we're going to see loud luxury maybe we'll see all those air mace blankets really making a comeback we'll see our pillows blazoned with um you know logos gosh if you've seen the Dior pillows that would be my first non- quiet luxury purchases the Dior pillows I love them but we're just not doing as many logos it's very simple but really focused on quality materials I think this style is eternal and I'm just happy that people are talking about it because I think it gives us the freedom to just enjoy it and build our homes around this style so I will leave some links down below for my Pinterest which is loaded with ideas about quiet luxury it's pretty much all my Pinterest okay I love it it's what I do all day long I really love it I'll also leave a link to my ltk which is where I share my mood boards and you can see how I'm putting together pieces from all over the place and how I create rooms with them and then I'll also leave
