This Alder Lake Laptop is INSANE! 🤯

The ASUS ZenBook 14X OLED is a laptop that has caught our attention with its impressive specs and features. One of the standout features of this laptop is its display, which comes with a 2.8K 16-by-10 OLED panel with a 92% screen-to-body ratio. This means that the bezels are quite slim, making it a great choice for those who want a portable and immersive viewing experience. The display also covers 100 DCP3 color gamut and has up to 550 nits of peak brightness levels, making it suitable for both everyday use and more demanding tasks.

In addition to its impressive display, the ZenBook 14X OLED also features a glass trackpad that doubles as a numpad. This allows users to switch between typing and navigating with ease. The laptop also comes with an anti-fingerprint coating on the trackpad, which helps prevent wear and tear over time. The keyboard is still one of the best you can find on a Windows laptop, with 14 millimeters of key travel and dished keys at the center.

The ZenBook 14X OLED also features a range of ports that cater to different needs. It has full-size HDMI 2.0, two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, an audio jack, and a full-size USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, as well as a micro SD card reader. While the power connector is USB-Type C, we wish there was more emphasis on fast charging in this laptop.

One of the most interesting features of the ZenBook 14X OLED is its display's ability to be used touch-screen. This allows users to interact with content in a more immersive way. The laptop also features a physical privacy shutter for the webcam, which can be activated by pressing the F10 key. This is a thoughtful feature that helps maintain user anonymity.

The ZenBook 14X OLED comes with a range of storage options, but we're particularly interested in its ability to double as a laptop stand. This is achieved thanks to the design of the laptop's packaging, which reduces waste and provides a sustainable solution for users who want to use their laptops on a stand. The laptop itself features an Intel Core i7-12700H processor with 14 cores and 20 threads, making it a powerhouse for demanding tasks.

The inclusion of this processor is particularly noteworthy, as it represents a significant upgrade from last year's model, which featured a Tiger Lake U-Series CPU. This new processor is designed to be used in high-end gaming laptops, making its appearance in the ZenBook 14X OLED a surprise. We're eager to see how the laptop performs with the iSchool thermal system inside, which is capable of handling up to 45 watts of TDP.

The final word on this impressive laptop comes from ASUS's expectations that it will be available sometime in Q2 of this year, although limited quantities are expected due to its niche appeal. While we're not yet aware of the pricing for this device, we're looking forward to seeing how it performs and whether it lives up to our expectations.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enall right this this is the new zenbook 14-0 led from asus but it's not just any other zenbook it's a special one it's called the space edition and this release is to celebrate the anniversary of the p6300 now what's so special about it you may ask well that picked laptop was used on the mirror space mission operated by the soviet union back in 1986 so the engineers and the designers over at asus used some of their free time to create this and it looks beautiful let's start with the unboxing experience because as you can see it says space edition everywhere including the strap that's made out of nylon they've also added gps coordinates which direct back to their main headquarters in taipei which is pretty cool opening it up you're greeted with another box that has this really cool grading effect along with metaverse vibes but hey at least it's a good showcase for your setup if you like boxes of course the power adapter is stored inside another mini space edition box and honestly guys this whole experience feels like i'm unboxing a piece of really expensive jewelry by the way don't throw away that box because there's actually another use for them that i'll get to shortly right back to the main box and when you open that you finally get to see the zenbook 14x oled space edition you also get a few other goodies like a welcome card user guide and some stickers to go along with the theme now specs wise this laptop features intel's latest 12 gen aldo lake cpus i have the sample with the core i7 12700h featuring 14 cores and 20 threads so that's six performance cores and eight efficiency cores it's also got 32 gigabytes of ddr5 memory running at 4 400 megahertz a 1 terabyte gen 4 ssd and intel's iris xc graphics with 96 execution units that's a lot of power packed inside a small 14-inch laptop so what i'm gonna do in this video is sort of give you guys my first impressions of one of the coolest looking auto licked laptops that has arrived here in the studio so let's get to that after a quick word from today's video sponsor say hello to gorgeous illumination and silent performance with the new lightwings from be quiet available in two sizes high speed or standard versions with a very pretty circular diffusion to display a rgb illumination the three pack also comes with a hub and controlled via your motherboard check them out below so the first thing that draws your attention with this end book is a design now unlike any other traditional black or white laptop asus has actually used an exclusive 0g titanium color throughout the entire chassis and this was done to sort of represent the fact that titanium was used widely in spacecraft construction and it really blends in with the whole chassis and i really like this color the front lid is composed of various motifs including a morse code that says through hardships to the stars it's a reference to the space mission that i alluded to earlier they've also implemented a 3.5 inch oled monochrome display that showcases space themed animations notifications battery life and you can even customize it with your own name and qr code which is kind of neat build quality is really good on this laptop given the aluminum construction interestingly they've made it compliant with the us space systems command standard testing protocols as much as that sounds like a mouthful it has been torture tested to resist extreme vibrations and temperatures so if you do plan to go to space anytime soon you now have something to take with you honestly i just feel like it's a little bit too extravagant but hey i mean they've got to bring in those marketing strategies you know what i mean now considering this is a 14 inch device it's pretty thin coming in at 0.63 inches and it weighs around 1.4 kilos or roughly 3.1 pounds which in my opinion is a bit on the heavier side compared to the competition the space theme continues on the inside as well if you examine the palm rest this graphic right over here describes the mirror station and that's followed by a series of morse codes describing the mission the space bar has a planet logo and i really like the red accents which adds a nice contrast to the color including the power button which also functions as a fingerprint reader but other than that asus has still managed to keep the core features of a zenbook so you get the ergo lift hinge which automatically lifts the keyboard at a three degree angle when you open the lid and this sort of complements the typing experience you also get the glass trackpad that also functions as a numpad you can simply activate that by tapping this icon right over here they've also added an anti-fingerprint coding to prevent wear and tear over long-term use the keyboard is still one of the best that you can find on a windows laptop with 14 millimeters of key travel and the keys are dished at the center at 0.2 millimeters which again adds up to a comfortable typing experience asus has also been pretty generous with the ports uh you have full size hdmi 2.0 a couple of thunderbolt 4 type c ports an audio jack and a full size usb 3.2 gen 2 port along with a micro sd card reader now i like how this blends in with the exhaust vents but i'm pretty sure you'll run into a situation where you're trying to insert your micro sd card into one of those exhaust vents instead of the actual port itself sure that's going to be a little interesting and for those of you wondering the power connector is usb type-c and the included power adapter features fast charge i actually want to see more of that on laptops this year the display is getting an upgrade too uh compared to previous zenbooks this model actually comes with a 2.8 k 16 by 10 oled panel with 92 percent screen to body ratio and it looks stunning out of the box it covers 100 dcfp3 color gamut and has up to 550 nits of peak brightness levels plus it comes with 90 hertz refresh rate which is a respectable improvement over the standard 60 hertz but it would have been cool to see 120 hertz though i should also mention that this display is touch screen so if you do want to use it if you want to be a little bit more immersive with your content that's a really cool feature another interesting thing that i noticed about this laptop is the physical privacy shutter for the webcam uh you just have to press the f10 key to activate it and you'll instantly notice a red dot covering the sensor uh i really like this visual feature now remember how i mentioned the reusability of this power adapter box well um if you are looking for a laptop stand you don't have to shop around for any since this actually doubles up like that i mean i really appreciate the thought process that went into designing this because it's a sustainable design reducing packaging waste plus it just looks really cool i mean how cool is that it's great to showcase your new zenbook 14x oled right now one of the things that really surprised me this year is with the specs packed under the hood because last year's model featured a tiger lake u-series cpu with four cores and eight threads and that's not the case anymore with the newer model because asus has given it a significant bump in cores with the new core i7 12700h we're talking 14 cores and 20 threads that's just insane for a laptop because if you remember the 8 series is specifically designed to be used in high-end gaming laptops so seeing that in a 14-inch laptop surprised being my huge margin i actually can't wait to see how it performs with the ischool thermal system inside supposedly this thing can handle up to 45 watts of tdp which is intel's base spec for the power levels for the cpu but according to intel spec it can also go up to 115 watts so that could cap performance but we'll just have to wait and see by the way you can configure this with up to a core i9 12900h and if you want to learn more about intel's older lake cpu lineups for laptops you can actually check out my complete breakdown right over here listen this is a really cool looking laptop i'm not sure what pricing is for this thing yet but asus is expecting to make it available sometime in q2 of this year they are making limited quantities which makes sense because this won't appeal to a wide demographic but if you're passionate about astronomy this is really a good cause for some excitement now i'm also aware that there are a lot of laptops being announced at ces at this time of the year or at least at the time of making this video uh there's some really cool stuff that i want to get my hands on and if you guys find anything interesting let us know in the comments down below stay tuned for more content revolving around these new 12 gen cpus from intel and of course we cannot forget about amd's new ryzen 6008 series honestly can't wait to just get my hands on some of these new things but yeah on that note thank you so much for watching
