MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Motherboard Unboxing & Installation _ Streaming PC Build

**David De Franco’s Journey: Building a Streaming PC**

---

### Introduction

Hello, everyone! My name is David De Franco, and I’m excited to share my journey as I build another gaming PC—more specifically, a streaming PC. This project has been on my mind for nearly three years, ever since I built my first gaming PC over a decade ago. After going through a console phase, discovering platforms like Twitch and Mixer, and realizing how much I enjoy streaming, I decided it was time to take things up a notch.

I’ve been streaming for a while now, and while I’ve grown significantly on both Twitch and Mixer (check out my links in the description if you want to support me), I’ve encountered some challenges along the way. The main issue? Running a gaming PC and a streaming PC from the same machine has its limitations. Games like *Siege* and *Apex Legends* have been particularly finicky, with *Apex* causing stutters on stream despite tweaking settings repeatedly.

That’s why I’m building a dedicated streaming PC. This will allow me to offload the streaming workload from my gaming PC, freeing up resources and hopefully eliminating those pesky issues. Plus, it’s just plain fun to build another rig!

Before diving into the build, I want to make two things clear:

1. **I don’t have all the parts yet**—I still need a CPU cooler, an SSD for storage, and a capture card.

2. **This isn’t a how-to guide**—I’m not an expert like Bitwit or Linus Tech Tips. I’m just building this for fun because I love tech and gaming.

With that out of the way, let’s get started!

### The Motherboard: MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC

Three years ago, in a moment of panic, I ordered this MSI Z370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard thinking my original PC’s motherboard was dead. Turns out, it was just a power supply issue—thankfully, because replacing a motherboard is no small feat!

Nonetheless, this motherboard has been sitting in storage ever since, waiting for the perfect project. It supports RGB Mystic Light, which is essential for any gaming or streaming PC build. While it might not be the most powerful motherboard by today’s standards, it’s more than capable for what I need—a dedicated streaming PC.

Unboxing the motherboard was a treat. The package included protective wrapping, which I found unusual compared to my previous ASUS motherboard. Along with the motherboard itself, I received:

- A small circular disc (I have no idea what it does—maybe a coaster?!)

- Stickers for labeling cables (a nice touch from MSI)

- An SLI HB bridge adapter (probably not needed for this build)

- A comprehensive manual

The motherboard itself is impressive. It’s clean, with plenty of expansion slots and RGB lighting. While it might be overkill for a streaming PC, I love having the flexibility to expand in the future.

### NZXT H700 Mid Tower Case

For the case, I chose an NZXT H700 mid-tower. This is the same brand as my other gaming PC, and I couldn’t be happier with it. The H700 has excellent cable management and a sleek design—everything you’d expect from NZXT.

Getting started, I removed the side tempered glass window. These thumb screws are so smooth, it felt almost too easy! With the case empty except for some fans, I placed the motherboard inside. The H700 includes pre-installed standoffs, which made installation a breeze.

Once the motherboard was in place, I secured it with screws and installed the I/O shield. It’s always satisfying to see everything line up perfectly.

---

### Upcoming Steps

With the motherboard and case set up, the next steps are:

1. Installing the CPU.

2. Adding RAM.

3. Mounting the GPU.

4. Installing storage (I’ll need an SSD for this).

5. Setting up cooling solutions (I still need an AIO cooler).

This build is shaping up to be a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into each component. Stay tuned for future videos where I’ll cover these steps in detail.

### Closing Thoughts

Building a streaming PC isn’t just about the hardware—it’s about creating a seamless experience for both me and my viewers. While I don’t claim to be an expert, I’m excited to document this journey and learn as I go. If you’re considering building your own streaming PC, feel free to reach out or leave a comment below!

Thank you so much for watching, and stay tuned for the next video where I’ll dive into installing the CPU. It’s always interesting…

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enmy name is david defranco and i'm going to build another gaming pc more specifically a streaming pc hello guys how are you today my name is david defranco from david defran.co let me get on my knees here this is kind of an awkward recording situation because i'm trying to get everything in frame i'm trying to get myself in frame whatever anyway nearly three years ago cannot believe it's been that long nearly three years ago i built my first gaming pc in probably over 10 years um because i kind of went through like a console phase then i discover twitch and mixer and all that i'm like i really want to get out there and stream and guys honestly i've been loving it i've been growing fairly quickly on twitch and fairly quickly on mixer both those links are ripple if you want to support me thank you so much i appreciate it but even then over the years i've discovered the let's just say obstacles or minor annoyances of streaming and gaming on a single pc in other words a gaming pc that brings me to today i'm going to build a streaming pc and for those who have no idea what that is it's kind of exactly what it sounds like it's a pc completely dedicated to streaming and possibly recording and nothing else so let's say i'm gaming on my pc right here gaming pc a and then streaming pc b everything on gaming pca is being fed over to streaming pc b and everything on shimmy pcb is being streamed out to twitch mixer youtube whatever and now for me the gamer and the streamer this means it takes way way less resources to stream my games which means i get higher fps's and games like siege and especially apex legends there's something about apex i mean apex is one of the very few games where it just stutters on stream yeah i mean i've like tweaked all the settings and stuff i i just can't figure it out but with the streaming pc in theory it's going to be a seamless perfect experience of course it's gonna be a learning experience but i'll worry about that in the future now i do want to make two things clear number one i don't have all the parts yet i don't have all the parts i need two or three more components i have the processor which is over there i have the motherboard i have the gpu the power supply the ram the fans all that stuff i do not have a cooler for my cpu yet i do not have storage at least an ssd i have a hard drive but i'll talk about that later and i don't have a capture card which is obviously required and number two this is not a how to build a gaming pc streaming pc tutorial please do not look up to me look up the people like bitwit or linus tech tips whatever there are much better much more knowledgeable people out there than myself i'm just doing this for fun i'm doing this because i love tech i love gaming and i just love building stuff so let's get into it and i promise all future videos will not be this in depth in the beginning because this is simply my introduction video but my future videos will be quick and to the point where i install the gpu the ram the fans and all that stuff so with that said let's start today's video with the motherboard i did order myself this probably three years ago because it was a spare motherboard because i thought the one in my gaming pc upstairs was dead but it ended up being a power supply thank god because who the hell wants to replace the motherboard that's just frustrating because you literally have to take out like pretty much every single component and start from scratch but thankfully it was just a power supply but um in a moment of panic i did order myself with this this sperry motherboard brand new never been used never been opened uh the msi z370 gaming pro carbon ac so i figured why not keep this for a future pc and well here we are nearly three years later and of course it's not the most capable motherboard by today's standards but you guys gotta understand i'm sure most of you know this this is a streaming pc this is a streaming pc so this is way way overkill for what i need and now actually you'll quickly find out pretty much every component i'm putting into this streaming pc is way overkill why you ask well i'm just gonna come right back at you and say why not why not that sound a little better okay so finally getting to the unboxing of the msi z370 gaming pro carbon ac motherboard let's just open this thing get it installed it does support rgb mystic light i mean why would you build a gaming pc streaming pc without rgb don't you dare all right yes this is a very big knife i don't know if i even need the knife honestly come on come on you can do it there you go oh i think i bought this a while back thermal paste for the cpu which i likely won't need because i'm going to get an aio cooler and if my memory serves me correctly it's pre-installed or pre pre-coded whatever you want to call it all right so let's push this aside don't really need that so here is the motherboard unlike my first motherboard for my gaming pc this one's actually wrapped which i found kind of weird that the other one was not protected so let's push that aside temporarily put that right there we do get this round circular disc i have no idea what this does i mean what is this does it bend it does bend look at that huh i don't know a coaster maybe i'm not sure thank you for choosing an msi product you are totally welcome these look like stickers oh yeah just just labels basically making it easy to route your cables that's that's actually pretty cool this is something i did not get with my asus motherboard so if you want to label your um sata cables and all that stuff you can probably won't do that though honestly because this isn't going to be a very complex build quick installation guide that i will set aside for reference and here we have an sli hp bridge adapter which i probably will not need but i will show it to you guys anyway because why not there you go it's actually a pretty nice manual of course it's not color on the inside but the outside cover is color you know glossy all that stuff looks pretty good i'll reference that as i need it if i need it got some cables and stuff basically a bunch of cables we got the back plate for the i o antenna for wi-fi which i will not be using and bada bing bada boom lots of cables lots of cables and this let me see what this is okay so this small component i'm showing right now is the msi herald ac intel ac8265 wi-fi adapter this is probably something i'm not going to install although i will say this very interestingly enough i did not get this with my asus motherboard this was actually pre-installed on the motherboard so whether that's a good thing or a bad thing it just comes down to your usage case but um yeah there you go it's cool looking is it edible maybe here's the actual motherboard we can lift this out of here carefully and we can take the protective cover off which is taped a little bit so let's just take that off when in doubt use a knife and here is the msi gaming pro motherboard not bad right not bad at all we have plenty of expansion for gpus and rams all that stuff all this i o in the back again this thing is way way overkill for what i actually need but you know what i like it for the sake of staying organized i'm going to put all these components away just for the time being that's actually what i've been doing in my previous motherboard and the one before that back when i was in high school my current box is actually right back here give me one second this is from my other gaming pc build a few years back as you can see i have a spare uh corsair ll 120 rgb fan a bunch of razer stickers adapters for aio coolers for amd just in case i ever went that routes spare nzxt fans got sata cables it's always a good idea to have a box of spare parts because well why not i don't i don't understand why you wouldn't have spare parts so there you go looks like i'm building a new collection okay let's open up the case which by the way is an nzxd h700 mid tower case my uh other gaming pc is actually housed in an nzxt case and i love that case i love everything about it and this is very very similar but if anything i believe the cable management on this one is even better all right let's begin the process by removing the side tempered glass window which as always feels beautiful with these thumb screws god they're so smooth nzxt did a fantastic job with the build of this case and if you guys are interested in the motherboard and or um nzxt case both of them will be linked right below for your convenience okay there you go there's the case as you can see there's really not a lot to see right now because there's pretty much nothing in there except for the fans which of course i will be taking out i mean come on it's all about that rgb right and i apologize this is a really scary angle it's a wide-angle lens so it makes me look a little bigger than i actually am okay so the motherboard is placed into the case and by the way i should imagine the h700 i believe includes all the pre-installed standoffs so that's one thing you will not have to worry about with this case which is very nice and i do have the i o shield installed right there on this side and now for the fun parts i need to install a bunch of screws and all right there you have it the msi motherboard is installed incredibly easy process i just took a little longer than i expected to because i wanted to be very very careful on video changing camera angles all that stuff but the next videos i promise will be much much shorter again this is just more of an introduction than anything because well as you can hopefully see the motherboard is installed it's not falling out of the case and that my friends is a good sign stay tuned for future videos including my installation of my power supply gpu ram uh hard drive ssd all that stuff this is going to be an entire series but for now if you do want to watch my other pc installation videos that entire playlist is linked right below thank you guys so much for watching i appreciate your support and next up i think i'll do the the
