iPhone SE 2 - Is it STILL happening

The iPhone SE: A Brief History and Rebirth

In March 2016, Apple released the iPhone SE, a phone that was both confusing and intriguing to many. The phone featured an exact same design as the iPhone 5s from 2013, which itself had the exact same design as the iPhone 5 from 2012. However, the iPhone SE boasted top-of-the-line specs at the time, including the Apple A9 processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and a back-facing camera that was identical to the one on the iPhone 6s. The front camera, however, remained the same as on the iPhone 5s from 2013. Despite its impressive specs, the phone's design was already four years old, with a four-year-old display.

The iPhone SE was initially marketed as an affordable option for consumers who wanted top-of-the-line specs without breaking the bank. However, when it was released in 2016, Apple priced the phone starting at $400, which is significantly lower than its competitors at the time. But over the years, Apple's prices have increased, and if we apply the same 39% lower price that the iPhone SE had compared to the iPhone 6s, we get a price point of $610 for the iPhone 10s. This means that the iPhone SE was actually cheaper than its top-of-the-line competitor, the iPhone 10.

In September 2018, Apple discontinued the iPhone SE, replacing it with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The iPhone SE's discontinuation marked a significant shift in Apple's pricing strategy, as it began to focus on more premium products. But despite its eventual demise, the iPhone SE remains an interesting footnote in Apple's history, highlighting the company's willingness to innovate and experiment with new designs and price points.

Rebirth of the iPhone SE: A New Design

Fast-forward to 2020, when rumors began circulating about a potential second-generation iPhone SE. According to leaked reports, Apple was working on a new entry-level iPhone with specs similar to those of the iPhone 7, including an Apple A8X processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and storage options starting at 32 gigabytes. But in a surprise move, Apple decided to revisit its earlier design, releasing a new iPhone SE with a squared-off frame and wireless charging capabilities.

The new design was met with both excitement and skepticism, as some fans were hesitant to see Apple abandon the familiar rounded edges of its previous designs. However, others saw the move as a bold step forward, echoing the iconic design of the original iPhone 5. As Apple continues to explore new design options, it's clear that the company is committed to innovation and experimentation.

Design Evolution: A Look Back at the Original iPhone SE

One of the most interesting aspects of the iPhone SE is its design evolution. According to leaked reports, Apple was working on an entry-level iPhone with a design similar to the original iPhone 5. This design, which featured a squared-off frame and a smaller screen size, was initially met with skepticism by some fans who were accustomed to Apple's rounded edges.

However, as Apple released new products over the years, it became clear that the company had been experimenting with this design style for some time. The release of a new 2018 iPad Pro, which also featured a squared-off frame, further solidified Apple's commitment to this design direction. And now, with the new iPhone SE, it seems that Apple is ready to bring this design back to its flagship products.

Designing for Affordability: A New Approach

So what does the future hold for the iPhone SE? According to some reports, Apple may be focusing on reducing the form factor of the phone, making it even smaller and more affordable than before. With a screen size starting at 4 inches or 4.2 inches, the new iPhone SE would become one of the smallest smartphones on the market.

But while affordability is certainly an important consideration for consumers, some argue that Apple should focus on creating a more premium product. After all, the company's flagship products are already among the most expensive on the market. By focusing on design and innovation, rather than just price, Apple can create a product that stands out from the competition.

Conclusion

The iPhone SE is a phone that has been both fascinating and frustrating to many fans over the years. From its initial release as an affordable option with top-of-the-line specs to its eventual discontinuation and rebirth as a new design model, the phone has always been a curiosity. With its squared-off frame and wireless charging capabilities, the new iPhone SE is sure to generate excitement among fans and critics alike. As Apple continues to evolve and innovate, it will be interesting to see where the company takes this design direction next.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe iPhone se - jeez this this phone has been rumored and leaked and talked about a lot but it never happened why it is Apple still working on it and if so when will yak want to see to be released well this is what this video is all about some grass some snacks get some drinks Friday relax sit back and here's everything all the latest leaks of rumors in terms of the iPhone se - ok so to understand what's happening with the iPhone se - we first need to have a look at the original iPhone se and the iPhone se was indeed a very strange product so to say so it was released in March 2016 some more than two years ago and it featured the exact same design as the iPhone 5s from 2013 which had the exact same design as the iPhone 5 from 2012 but it had a weird name SC which came from special edition so this phone even when it was freshly released in 2016 already had a four year old design a four year old display however it did have the internals of the iPhone success with the Apple a9 processor 2 gigabytes of RAM and even the exact same back facing camera as the iPhone 6s the front camera by the way was still the same one as on the iPhone 5s from 2013 now the iPhone se was actually discontinued in September 2018 so yeah two months ago with the introduction of the iPhone 10 s is making the iPhone 7 the least expensive iPhone that he came by right now starting from $449 or 449 pounds in the UK now the iPhone se did start at $400 but then number one it came with Apple's newest processor dia play 9 + e no Apple StuffIt lion smartphone camera and the number 2 the iPhone success which was a top-of-the-line smartphone that Apple was selling at the time the iPhone se was released started from six hundred and sixty dollars so yeah I definitely see was two hundred and fifty dollars less expensive than Apple's top of the line smartphone or 39% less but unfortunately Apple's prices have gone up and up and up over the years and if you apply the same 39% lower price that the iPhone se had over the iPhone 6s you get to a price point of 610 from the iPhone 10s and the iPhone 10 which is actually pretty much the same price of the iPhone 8 which actually starts from $600 so there you go the iPhone 8 is essentially the new iPhone se 2 the exact same price difference from the iPhone 10s that the iPhone se had from the iPhone 6s it has you know an older design the camera and the processor are the only drawbacks that the iPhone se did not have because the iPhone se had the latest processor and camera from Apple now Apple hasn't even introduced the iPhone 10 are in 2018 which is the lowest priced new 2018 iPhone this is 25 percent cheaper than the iPhone 10 s and starts from 750 dollars but still it's not it's not you know really affordable for everyone and then we've had so many leaks and rumors and reports that Apple was in fact working on the actual iPhone se 2 for release in 2018 but we haven't seen anything as of yet I mean I've done multiple videos on the iPhone se 2 before but yeah it's not out yet we don't have it yet so here's the thing we don't really know for sure what was Apple's original intent original plan for the iPhone se was it to make a small and portable iPhone that you know can be used at one hand or was it for Apple to make an affordable iPhone with top-of-the-line specs because at the moment we do have affordable iPhones even though they're basically the models from you know the year before but we do not have an iPhone that can be used with one hand so if you have big hands then yes you can use an iPhone 7 and yakhont antennas but definitely not the iPhone 10 as Max or the iPhone 7 plus or the A+ and this is what Apple still wants to do with the iPhone I see a smartphone that's small enough to be used at one hand which would actually be extremely useful for kids and you know people with small hands such as my boy Donald now in the leaks that we had in the past we've seen a number of design options for the iPhone se 2 so the first design option was basically an iPhone se one just would update its specs and I really don't see Apple going back to the old design especially bringing back you know the home button and touch idea I don't I don't see this option happening then option 2 was the same as option number 1 just with a glass back for a while is charging and then off number 3 this is definitely the most interesting one so an iPhone 10 fronds with a squared off frame so similar to the original iPhone se and then also a glass back for wireless charging this is the one that we've seen videos of photos of and yeah this is this is by far the most interesting and exciting one so yeah up number three looks like something Apple would want to do the most out of those three since you know we would be getting an updated iPhone 10 design but face early on the front wireless charging and in terms of that squared up design initially I was quite skeptical about this but then guess what Apple has just released a new 2018 iPad pro which also comes with a squared off frame we haven't seen an iPad with such a frame design since the original iPad was introduced back in 2010 so Apple could be bringing back the iPhone for the iPhone 5 squared frame design in 2019 with the iPhone Elevens video on that here but yeah in that case Apple releasing the iPhone AC 2 with the exact same design style would make a lot of sense now in fact had some reports that Apple was indeed working on an entry-level iPhone with the Apple 810 processor 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabyte and 128 gigabytes as the storage options so pretty much the exact same specs as the iPhone 7 so yeah I have a feeling that these leaks of the iPhone se 2 specs were all wrong when an if Apple does release the second generation iPhone se it should come with the latest Apple a series processor or at least the previous generation otherwise the iPhone se 2 is already here in the form of the iPhone 7 or the f-18 but yeah let me know the comments what you guys think that Apple should be doing in terms of the iPhone ec2 should Apple be focusing on reducing the form factor so that we have you know really small device a four inch or a 4.2 inch smartphone or do you think that making it more affordable than the original iPhone se 2 was is what Apple should be doing affordable smart phone or something that's really really small in terms of the form factor but yeah low no comments what you guys think stay tuned for an updated video even an updated zone of that concept of the iPhone se 2
