The Art of Creating Miniature Desserts with Polymer Clay

Creating miniature desserts using polymer clay is a fun and creative hobby that requires some skill and patience, but yields adorable results. In this article, we will explore the process of creating three different types of miniature desserts: cupcake-like treats, macarons, and tiny sushi rolls.

**Tapered Cupcakes**

To create a tapered cupcake, start by rolling out two equal-sized pieces of polymer clay in your desired colors. For our example, let's use pink and blue. Make sure the edges are smooth and even, as this will affect the overall appearance of the cupcake. Next, use a toothpick or a small knife to create a tapering effect on one end of each piece of clay. This means that one side should be slightly thinner than the other, creating a skinnier top for your cupcake.

Now that we have our tapered pieces, it's time to assemble the cupcake. Place the two pieces together, matching up the tapered ends and twisting them together to form a single unit. Make sure the edges are aligned properly to avoid any gaps or unevenness. As a final touch, you can add some colorful sprinkles on top of your cupcake to give it an extra pop of color.

**Macarons**

Macarons are French meringue-based confections that consist of two identical shells filled with a ganache or jam-like substance. To create our macaron, we'll start by rolling out two equal-sized pieces of polymer clay in white and blue. Cut each piece into half to form the base and top of the shell.

Next, take one of the halves and use a small knife to rough up the edges, creating a textured surface that mimics the real macaron. This will help hold the ganache or jam inside the shell. Now, place a small amount of white polymer clay on top of the bottom half, spreading it evenly to create the middle section.

To finish our macaron, we'll take both halves and twist them together, matching up the edges carefully. Make sure the surface is smooth and even, as this will affect the appearance of our finished dessert. Finally, roll out a small piece of clay into a thin rope-like shape, which will be used to create the feet of the macaron. Attach the foot to the bottom half using a bit of glue or by twisting it together.

**Tiny Sushi Rolls**

To create tiny sushi rolls using polymer clay, we'll start with two equal-sized pieces of white clay. Roll out each piece into a thin sheet, about 1/4 inch thick. Use a small knife or toothpick to create a miniature sushi roll shape, folding the edges inwards to form the rice.

Next, use a black marker to draw on the design of your sushi roll. You can add details like eyes and mouth, or simply draw a pattern that resembles seaweed. To finish our sushi roll, you'll need to cut out two small pieces of pink clay to create the filling.

**Assembly and Decorating**

To assemble our tiny sushi roll, place one end of the white sheet on top of the black design, twisting it together carefully to form a tight seal. Repeat this process with the other half of the white sheet. Use a bit of glue or by twisting them together to attach the pink pieces to the inside of the sushi roll.

Finally, use your finger to shape and flatten each piece into its desired shape. You can also add some additional details like sesame seeds or other toppings using black polymer clay. Our tiny sushi rolls are now complete!

I'm really excited to share so look for those soon sit in the past and finally it's here it's popping cooking NTI KH n KH Lando is um again made by the company kassi and this one is pretty straightforward um no real mixing or anything like that it's basically um like edible clay so I haven't made this one cuz I wasn't all that excited about it because there's not a lot of like mixing or concocting or anything it's just you know playing with your food and then eating it or playing with with your toys and then eating it but um a lot of people wanted to see it and um at any rate if anything it'll teach you how to mix your colors mix if you makeo and a red I mean white and blue you make mizuo mizuo is sky blue or water blue which means light blue pink you make you mix white and red which is shoa and you make pink Shiro and K Shiro and KIRO make cream a and AKA makes Murasaki purple um AKA and kyoo akao make Ori and K and a make Midori green and Kuro and chiro so black and white make um hi do hi EO hi EO great okay so there's your language lesson for the day uh so oh that's inside and let's see if you get one of these inside one of these packets oh and on the packets it gives you instructions on how to make something make sure your hands are impeccably clean get yourself a plate and I have a piece of parchment paper that I'm going to be rolling my stuff on so um a little tiny dowel wooden dowel okay so now that the all of these have been unwrapped I also went and got myself a knife um you might want to get these are a little bit hard it's a little bit cold so um to cut them up you might need like a little knife or something you need two equal siiz pieces of pink and yellow one small pink of slice of pink bigger size pink piece of yellow and yellow and so these two together we want to mix together so I'm going to there you go there's a little green ball I don't know if that shows up on camera take this pink and we want to knead it into a strawberry strawberry so now you've got a little strawberry now the piece of white you want to warm up in your fingers and roll it into a snake you have a little snake you want to cut it in half and so you have two equal pieces right now you want to twist them together so you have something that's like like that I'm going to put the little leaf one leaf and then we'll pop that right on top like that so now we'll use our little Diel stick and give it an initial smoing like that the pink rolled out about the same size we're going to put the pink inside the yellow like that and then we're just going to roll it up just roll it tightly up like that so you have a little swirl like that pretty cute and then we just top it with our little cream donut thing there you have it a little tiny rule cake cute okay so we'll set that one aside and we'll make something else okay so let's begin with some yellow and just knead that up so it's nice and soft and this will be the base of the cupcake and then maybe put some lines on the bottom like that so it looks like the cupcake um wrapper something you know so what I'm going to do is instead of making the snake all the same width I'm going to taper it a little bit meaning make one side a little bit thinner okay so now that we have the pink and the blue both tapered on one end match up the pointy ends together and start twisting them together so that's why I wanted it tapered so because it's tapered it creates a skinnier side than the other so you get a nice little cupcake top here you go tiny little cupcake pretty cute so if we want to make it even cuter we can even add a couple sprinkles the sprinkles are going to be a mess so I'm going to try to rain it in here okay there you go a tiny little cupcake with a few sprinkles on top a macaron is one of these kinds of things it's like a French it's like a French dessert it's made out of egg whites and they're really delicious egg whites and almond powder macaron or the way I say it sounds more like Spanish so I don't know French people help me um so they're really popular in France they usually filled with some kind of ganache or some kind of jam or something inside so let's make one of those um this one's a blue one so I guess we can make a blue one too um all right here we go doesn't have instructions so I'm just kind of winging it but you want two equal size pieces of blue so I'm going to cut this and cut it in half and you want something in the middle so um going put white in the middle all right so make two kind of patties of similar size and then you want to take a knife or something and just kind of rough up the edges a little bit um in real macaron they call them this part the feet it's the spreading of the um the egg whites that makes this kind of rough texture around the edge they're really cute and delicious they're actually quite popular in Japan too okay now that we have the top and the bottom finished cuz now we're going to cut that in half and then swirl those two together s like that then we're going to sore that into a little like a little pastry so that goes inside so we take the bottom of maon and then we put that on top and then we put this on top like a little sandwich ta How stinking cute so it's swirled in the inside like that and that's the little macaron and flattening it out like on your finger like that see that roll it up and you make a Little Flower and we'll put it on top Then There It Is there's our tiny little macaroon Pretty stinking cute if you ask me okay so our little Bakery includes a little cupcake a little macaron and a little roll cakey I think I think you polymer clay people out there will really enjoy this because it's really like fun in that sense let's eat let's just eat one all together let's eat the r cake since that was the first one this little roll cakey let's try him that's really good it's like a mix of like strawberry the pink is definitely strawberry and the the yellow I'm not sure what flavor maybe lemon but it's really good the texture is exactly like that grape chew that I had before exactly or if you guys haven't had those grape chews it's just like high chew it's like really it's chewy and then just dissolves in your mouth but it's really intensely flavored it's delicious so let's try let's just try the white part of the thing by itself the whipped cream let see what that tastes like same texture different flavor white tastes like Lade good I think this is actually popping cooking that I actually like to eat most of them taste terrible but this one tastes really good so let's eat our little cupcake let's try the Yellow Part the yellow is kind of nondescript it tastes a little bit like lemonade but it's a little bit Tangy so maybe it wants to be lemon but I'm not really sure didn't use is black so let's make a tamago sushi so first what you do is you take a little piece of white and make a little thing like that and put it on top of our sushi rice like that look how small and stretch it so this will be the naughty see that tiny piece of black then we're going so you have a really miniature small tiny tiny tiny tiny Sushi see that so that's taste it all together all together it doesn't taste all that different so this fruity nondescript yummy Japanese candy flavor but it's good okay guys that's it that's and um thanks for watching and
