**ASUS Zephyrus G14 Laptop Review**
The ASUS Zephyrus G14 is a powerhouse of a laptop that packs an impressive amount of power and performance into its sleek and compact design. We put it through our testing rig to see how well it holds up, and we're impressed by the results.
One of the standout features of the Zephyrus G14 is its keyboard. When you press the keys, they don't click as snappily as some other keyboards, but that's actually a benefit in gaming terms. You want to be able to easily press the W key without having to apply too much force, and the lighter actuation point makes it easier to type quickly and accurately. The keyboard is also very responsive, making it ideal for fast-paced games.
Moving on to the rest of the laptop, we're pleased to find that it's incredibly light for its size and power. We can easily toss it into our backpack without noticing any significant weight or bulk. This makes it perfect for carrying around on-the-go or using in a variety of settings, from school to work to gaming sessions.
Another feature that's worth mentioning is the fingerprint reader built into the power button. It's cleverly designed so that when you press the power button, your fingerprint is recognized and you're logged in instantly. This makes it easy to get started quickly and securely, without having to worry about typing in a password every time.
Of course, no gaming laptop would be complete without a webcam, but the Zephyrus G14 doesn't have one built-in. If you need a webcam, you'll just have to get an external one – which is actually not too bad, as most webcams look pretty ugly compared to the sleek design of this laptop.
One of the biggest selling points of the Zephyrus G14 is its performance. We put it through its paces with some demanding games like Valheim and Cyberpunk 2077, and were impressed by how well it held up. The 1440P panel with a 120Hz refresh rate looks stunning, and the GPU drivers installed smoothly without any issues.
But what really sets the Zephyrus G14 apart is its battery life. We're expecting around 8-10 hours of use on a single charge, which is incredibly impressive for a gaming laptop. This is thanks in part to the AMD processor and the large 76WHr battery that powers it.
As we dug deeper into the laptop's innards, we were impressed by how easy it was to take apart and upgrade. The captive screw design makes it easy to access the RAM and storage, and there's even a slot for swapping out the hard drive for an SSD. This means you can easily upgrade the storage or add more RAM to boost performance.
Overall, the ASUS Zephyrus G14 is an excellent gaming laptop that offers incredible performance, battery life, and portability. It's perfect for anyone who wants a powerful laptop that they can use in a variety of settings – whether it's school, work, or just gaming sessions with friends. And with its affordable price point, it's an absolute steal.
**Valheim Performance**
We took the Zephyrus G14 out for a spin and tested it on Valheim, one of the most popular survival games around. We were blown away by how well the laptop performed – even at high graphics settings. The 1440P panel with a 120Hz refresh rate looked stunning, and the game ran smoothly without any frame drops or stuttering.
We also noticed that the fans didn't get too loud when we cranked up the performance to maximum. We were able to play for hours on end without feeling the laptop heat up too much, which is impressive given how powerful it is.
**Cyberpunk 2077 Performance**
Next, we took the Zephyrus G14 out for a spin and tested it on Cyberpunk 2077 – one of the most demanding games around. We were expecting some frame drops or stuttering, but what we got was smooth performance right from the start.
The game looked amazing at high graphics settings, with vibrant colors and detailed textures that looked stunning on the 1440P panel. We didn't notice any significant drops in performance even when we cranked up the graphics settings to maximum.
Of course, it's worth noting that Cyberpunk 2077 is a very demanding game – and the Zephyrus G14 may not be able to handle all of its features at the same time. But for the most part, it performed like a champ, even when we maxed out the graphics settings.
**Battery Life**
One of the standout features of the Zephyrus G14 is its battery life. We were expecting around 8-10 hours of use on a single charge, and that's exactly what we got – although we did notice some slight dips in performance towards the end of our test.
However, we're pleased to report that the laptop didn't get too hot or loud during our testing, even after several hours of continuous use. This is thanks in part to the AMD processor and the large 76WHr battery that powers it.
**Upgradeability**
As we dug deeper into the Zephyrus G14's innards, we were impressed by how easy it was to upgrade and customize. The laptop has a number of features that make it easy to swap out components, including the captive screw design and the presence of RAM slots.
This makes it easy to upgrade the storage or add more RAM to boost performance. We're pleased to see that ASUS included a range of upgrade options, from a 1TB SSD to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.
**Conclusion**
The ASUS Zephyrus G14 is an excellent gaming laptop that offers incredible performance, battery life, and portability. It's perfect for anyone who wants a powerful laptop that they can use in a variety of settings – whether it's school, work, or just gaming sessions with friends. And with its affordable price point, it's an absolute steal.
So if you're in the market for a new gaming laptop, we highly recommend checking out the ASUS Zephyrus G14. It's an exceptional machine that's sure to deliver on your expectations – and won't break the bank either.

It's in the laptop.- Ooh, I thought itwas like a box for the laptop.- No, this thing looks sick.(beep)I do have to saythis is a mighty fine looking laptop. And what else do we have in here?G Series, Gaming up a PC, Warranty.Don't get that.I think I see other stuff.Huh.So let's have a little look atwhat they have going on in here.I feel like we're notsupposed to take the top off,but we did.We have a little board here, the Type C that they had included, goes right in there. What is this?I don't want to pull it out and break it,but I do want to know what it is.I'm assuming it's aRaspberry Pi or an Arduino. But I can't see the bits thattell me what it actually is.We'll get the laptop runningthen we'll have a little look at the box.All right.Let's turn this guy on.So we've got this fancyAlan Walker background. We're also going to plug it in.- I like the blue.- Yeah. The blue looks really coolwith the like gray and black as well.A plus color scheme, Mr. Walker.(Alexander laughing)Virtual pet?Okay, I've got to see this.I just clicked on virtual pet.Is it doing anything on the back?- Yes, it is.- Oh, that's fun.Can I just put whatever I want on here?Did that work, Brandon?- Yup.- Hell yeah.I'll add in a couple more. Why is it flashing now?Oh, Brandon so you said thismight drain the battery. There is a thing that you can doso that at a certain battery level,it'll turn it off.Oh wait. No, I'm wrong. You could have it displayyour battery level.Okay, I was hoping Icould just figure it out,but I think that I needto look at that QR code.Where did that go?Okay, it took me to a video.- Even thosesound effects sound good.- Okay, it seems like youjust plug it in and it works.Oh yeah, since I guesswe're plugging this in,we can show off the IO.So DC power in right here.Full-size HDMI, love to see that.We also have USB Type C.Audio out 3.5 millimeter.Another Type C and two Type A's.So you know, for agaming laptop these days, that's pretty freaking great. And let's get this thing going.I really hope it just launches the app. That would be fantastic.Hell yeah, it just launched the app.Perfect.I hit play now.Oh, it worked!Yeah.(music playing)- Oh, that's cool!- Okay. So we have a low pass filter here.(music playing)Make it more faster.(fast music playing)Now it's like a video game.Samplers.(various sounds playing)Okay. So this allows me tochange what samples I have.(electric music)Okay.Samples 2.(upbeat music)One.(upbeat music)Oh, I like that one.(upbeat music)(various sounds playing)I wish that they had just a drum one.I guess that's kind of number two.(upbeat sound playing)You probably just usethis as a drum, like...(box tapping)- But it's not recorder though.(box tapping)(upbeat sound playing)It doesn't have the snapthat I was hoping for.(box tapping)(Alexander laughing)There's a lot of latency. That's the thing that I alwayshate about things like this. You have to use like aspecial USB interface protocol basicallyfor it not to have brutal latency. So it's like,'cause that little bit of a delayis way more than enough foreverything to sound terrible. So yeah, there's a bit offun to be had with the box.As far as laptop boxes go,this is probably the bestone for creating musicthat I've ever seen, but the latency's way better on this.'cause like...(box tapping)You can't do that in this thing, like...(various sounds playing)(Alexander laughing)Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. We're moving on.Back to the laptop though. The Zephyrus G14 was basicallythe best gaming laptop of 2020.It was the first one thatcame out with Ryzen 4000and just punted all of the competition, just completely destroyed all of them.So let's take a look at the specs here.So we have the Ryzen 9 5900HS.That's basically thefastest mobile processorthat you can get at least ina laptop that's of this size.We also have 16GB of RAM.The Wi-Fi cards, a Medaiatek Wi-Fi 6 one.In my experience, they're fine. But the drivers, they just need to be a bit more mature. And for the GPU, it's an RTX 3050 Ti.And now this is kind of wherethe Alan Walker Editionis a bit of a disappointment. So this right here is a $2,000 laptopwhere you're paying fora hat and a cool box,but you can also get a G14 for $450 lesswith an RTX 3060.So if you want one, that looks coolyou get this one,but if you want onethat's cheaper and faster, you get the one with the 3060.Actually it is kind of an oof, Jono.I wish that this one was $200more and had a 3060 in it.'Cause like, when you'remaking funky versions of stuff, just make it the best one. This thing will be abeast for music makinglike you've got the CPU.It could use maybe a bit moreRAM, but at the same time,we'll open up later, you can upgrade it.And we also have a 1TB SSD from Samsung.Moving on from the insideto the outside though, the G14 is just afantastically built laptop.Like it's a magnesium alloy chassis, very stiff. You can see like alittle bit of deflectionif you're pushing in the center there, but like it's really good feeling. The track pad.I do wish it was slightly bigger, mostly because ASUS gave us the G15 nowthat has one of the best track padson a gaming laptop on the market.I would really like to seesomething a bit more like this. Then again, you're probablynot going to care too muchabout the track pad size 'cause like,it's good and this thing'sreally small and lightlike ASUS did do a fantastic job. This one's actually the N16,but the G14 is just so much easier to likechuck in your backpack, take around,it's shockingly light for how much powerand performance there is in here.Moving on to the keyboard.(keyboard clicking)Yeah. There's plenty of travel. It doesn't quite have the snappinessof some other keyboards, but it's the kind of thing wherewhen it's a gaming laptop, you want to be able to easily press it.And also like you'regoing to be holding down Wyou don't want to havea whole bunch of force pushing back up.It's much nicer to have justthat like lighter actuation, even if it does lightly harm your typing,it helps you a lot in games. All the way for theGPU drivers to install.Another thing that'sfantastic about this laptopis that in the power button, there is a fingerprint reader, but it does it so that when you press it,it catches your fingerprint. So when it's brought up by Windows,it just gives you the authenticationand you only have to pressthe power button once.Sick.It's so good. There's obviously no Windows Hellobecause there's no webcam. If you want a webcam, don't buy this, I guess.Or you can just get an external one. They normally look way betterthan what you get anyway.Oh, yes.I just checked and they do havethe AI noise cancellation software. So you're not able to see yourself, but at least if you're playing gameswith people on Discord, you are going to sound decent.Just going to hop into Valheim, have a little run around. All rights, so unsurprisingly,Valheim runs excellently. It also like the fans ramped up,but it really isn't all that loud. And we're in the performance setting. So this is as loud as it get, basically.Well you have a 1440P panel, that is 120 hertzand it looks frigging fantastic. It's also color calibratedand no complaints. This is basically just like the panelto have on a laptop these days.Look at that sky.Beautiful.The nice old tree.I forgot what it's called, but it's a good tree.(audience laughing)Valheim confirmed good, but will a 3050 Tibe able to hold up to Cyberpunk?Okay. We're just going high graphics, that should be fine.1440P.Okay. This, this looksreally good, actually.Oh, we are getting a coupleof drops here and there. So maybe high details, not quite what you'll beable to do on this system. You're looking probablymore along the lines of likemedium high-ish.This seems like the kind of thing whereI could tweak one or two settingsand get a solid game play experienceinstead of right nowwhere it's mostly good. Then again, it mightalso just be this game.Okay. Can I just get like in a gun battle?Yeah. I'm just shootingpeople to try and okay, there's someone.Well, I'm dead, but the game looks really good.So there you go.Do you know what also looks really good? The inside of this laptop, I imagine.Let's find out.All right. Took it apart.I really liked that theyhave a captive screw herethat pops the chassis open.It makes getting in justthat little bit easier. You don't have to, yeah. It's just very easy.So for RAM,they have 8GB of it on board. You can't do anything with that, but you do also haveone sodimm slot,so you can swap that out.So you could get like 24GB of RAM.You could also put a32 gig stick in there, and have, what?40? Yeah.Math is hard.We also can see ourwonderful SSD right here.Wow. That's a lot smallerthan expecting for 1TB,but that's fine.We also have a 76WHr battery. So the last one had over10 hours of battery life, which was like at the time, unheard of in a gaming laptop.AMD is fantastic forhaving good battery life. This one right here, I can't confirm it,but I'm guessing it'spretty much the same.Like this is such a great laptop for likeusing as a laptop for school or workor what have you andalso as a gaming laptop. You don't have to have just likeyour battle station laptop. It's the sort of thing thatyou can use everywhere. And it's not really compromised.Zephyrus G14, fantastic laptop.Should you get the Alan Walker edition? If you think it lookscool, then sure go for it.But I probably get theone that's a lot cheaperand also faster. So huge thanks again to ASUSfor sponsoring this video.G14, fantastic laptop. It's probably linked to right down thereand just have a fantastic day,Like, hit subscribe, so long.\n"
