#### sponsorship Segment: Sunbird Fragrances

Before diving into the book recommendations, it’s worth taking a moment to highlight an exciting partnership Haley shared with **Sunbird**, a monthly fragrance subscription service. For those who love experimenting with different scents but hesitate to commit to a full bottle, Sunbird offers a perfect solution.

With Sunbird, subscribers receive a curated selection of designer fragrances each month, each offering a 30-day supply. The best part? There are no penalties for skipping months if you’re not interested in trying a particular scent. This flexibility makes it an ideal choice for those who enjoy exploring new fragrances without the risk.

Haley mentioned her recent selections, including **Nuit Coma** by Gaultier and **Crystal Noir** by Versace. These scents reflect her personal style—dark yet sweet, with hints of bergamot, black pepper, tonka bean, vanilla, and musk. She also shared her thoughts on a more spring-inspired scent, emphasizing the joy of matching fragrances to the season.

#### Book Recommendations: A Dive Into Popular Titles

1. **The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller**

Haley begins her journey with *The Song of Achilles*, a book she describes as “over a million ratings” on Goodreads. Known for its lush prose and vivid storytelling, this novel brings the tale of Patroclus and Achilles to life in a way that has captivated readers.

Despite her admiration for the author’s work (*Cersei*), Haley admits to feeling nervous about reading *The Song of Achilles*. The book’s overwhelming popularity has set high expectations, but she is eager to dive into its pages.

2. **Normal People by Sally Rooney**

Next on the list is *Normal People*, another highly rated title with over 1 million ratings. This novel, written by Sally Rooney, explores themes of love and relationships through the eyes of two characters navigating their lives in Ireland.

While Haley acknowledges the buzz around Rooney’s work, she notes that *Normal People* has a lower average rating compared to *The Song of Achilles*. Despite this, she is intrigued by the book’s reputation for being emotionally resonant and hopes to explore it further.

3. **Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng**

Turning to *Little Fires Everywhere*, Haley shares her excitement about this novel, which she describes as “one million sixty thousand ratings.” This story follows a mother-and-son duo who move into an affluent neighborhood, only to uncover the complexities of their new lives.

While not typically her usual read, Haley is drawn to the book’s popularity and its exploration of themes like race and identity. She expresses a healthy dose of skepticism but remains open to the narrative’s possibilities.

4. **Colleen Hoover: A Love-Hate Relationship**

Colleen Hoover dominates the list with several titles, including *Remind Me*, *November 9*, and *It Starts with Us*. Each book has garnered significant ratings, reflecting Hoover’s loyal fan base.

Despite her appreciation for Hoover’s talent, Haley admits to feeling nervous about diving into her work. With so much hype surrounding these novels, she hopes they live up to the expectations set by their massive popularity.

5. **The Vanishing Half and Mistborn: A Divergence in Styles**

While *The Vanishing Half* by Brit Bennett is a thought-provoking exploration of race and identity, it’s met with a slightly lower rating than its predecessor (*It Starts with Us*). Yet, Haley is eager to read it, as it resonates with her interests in social justice themes.

Shifting gears entirely, *Mistborn: The Final Empire* by Brandon Sanderson stands out for its 570,000 ratings. This epic fantasy novel has been on Haley’s radar for years, but she’s yet to find the time to read it. She expresses frustration at her procrastination and hopes to finally tackle this series soon.

6. **The Secret History by Donna Tart**

Moving into more niche selections, *The Secret History* by Donna Tart boasts over 550,000 ratings. This dark academia novel has long been a cult favorite, known for its intricate storytelling and complex characters.

While not typically her style, Haley is drawn to the book’s reputation and hopes it delivers on the hype.

7. **A YA Breakthrough: The Book They’re Guide**

Transitioning into young adult literature, *The Book They’re Guide* by Holly Jackson has captured attention with its 400,000 ratings. This mystery novel follows a girl who starts receiving threatening notes from “the Book You’re Not Allowed to Read.”

While not a typical YA read for Haley, she recognizes the book’s potential and is curious about exploring it further.

8. **Cordelia’s Choice: The Queen’s Thief**

*The Queen’s Thief* by Sarah J. Maas takes center stage next, with over 500,000 ratings. This series is beloved for its intricate world-building and compelling characters.

Despite her admiration for the series’ popularity, Haley hasn’t yet read it but hopes to dive into it soon.

9. **Such a Fun Age by Kylie Reed**

*Such a Fun Age* by Kylie Reed has garnered 460,000 ratings, making it another must-read on Haley’s list. This novel follows a Black babysitter navigating systemic racism and societal expectations.

Recognizing its relevance and timeliness, Haley is eager to explore this book for its commentary on race and identity.

10. **Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel**

*Station Eleven* by Emily St. John Mandel, with 450,000 ratings, offers a unique blend of dystopian elements and literary fiction. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, this novel has long been on Haley’s radar.

Despite its popularity, she hasn’t yet read it but is drawn to its exploration of human resilience and the power of art.

11. **Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan**

*Crazy Rich Asians* by Kevin Kwan, with 450,000 ratings, brings a lighthearted touch to the list. This novel offers a glimpse into the world of wealth and relationships in Asia.

While not typically her style, Haley recognizes its cultural significance and hopes to read it soon.

12. **The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead**

Finally, *The Underground Railroad* by Colson Whitehead, with 375,000 ratings, rounds out the list. This Pulitzer-winning novel is a powerful exploration of slavery and resistance in the United States.

Recognizing its historical significance, Haley is eager to read it as part of her journey into more adult-oriented literature.

#### Conclusion: A Call for YA Book Recommendations

While this article covers a wide range of genres and authors, one thing stands out: the limited representation of young adult (YA) books in the list. As noted by Haley, YA titles often don’t receive the same level of attention as their adult counterparts, despite their immense popularity and cultural impact.

If you’re a fan of YA literature, be sure to let Haley know in the comments which titles you think she should explore next. You might just see them featured in an upcoming video!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eneveryone it's Haley and today I'm going to be talking about the most popular books that I haven't read yet that I own so the most popular books that are still on my TBR pile I have honestly been doing the bare minimum for filming like I have just been feeling so lazy lately I'm trying to like honor my free time and part of that is that I'm like you know what if I don't feel like setting up my camera and everything which has been the case lately we're just gonna do it with my Vlog camera so I hope that's okay with you guys um because that's what you're getting and talk about the most popular books that I haven't read yet because I know that there are quite a few now I've done videos like this in the past probably or at least I've intended to but with that I've just kind of like gone off of what I think is popular but today I'm actually going on Goodreads and like checking the number of ratings I've done videos like this where I talk about the highest rated book but this isn't going on that number like these are all the ratings whether it's one star or five stars it's just these are the number of people that gave it a rating does that make sense I fun carrying cases which look at the spring colors these make me so happy even though like there's snow outside these are amazing they are really easy to use as well so they lock you can throw them in your bag super easy for on the go and then you just twist the top to unlock it so you can actually spray I probably shouldn't have sprayed my face but that smells so good and to change them out it's just magnetic so it comes out really really easily you can see how big the actual sample size is so this month I have Nui a comfy dolls by gutal Peri I am so sorry for my French but this has notes of Italian Bergamot black pepper tonka bean Madagascar vanilla and musk and that's actually the one that I just sprayed and it smells delightful I love it I also have Crystal Noir by Versace this has notes of Ginger gardenia Amber sandalwood and musk I definitely did not pick spring scents I went for like darker scents but that's definitely my vibe like dark but sweet scents I guess warm is a better way to say it not dark but you get what I mean I got one scent that is more springy and that is and that is by Grace demonico So this has notes of Lilia the valley spicy geranium Citrus Rose and acord of must in the final scent that I got is sexual Noir by Michelle Germaine and this has notes of vanilla Vegeta vetiver I don't know how to say that I'm sorry Amber pink Orchid and Jasmine so this one's kind of more of like a warm spring scent you know we've got a little bit bit of everything anyways no matter what they are they all smell delightful honestly I have not been disappointed and I have bought many like a full-size bottle after trying it out on scentbird which is so nice that I'm not committing to just like impulse buying a full bottle and then wasting it because I don't actually like it I get to try out the scent in different environments and see it if it is actually one that I want to have forever so if you guys were interested in checking out scentbird I highly highly recommend it I love working with them and I think that you guys will love it too there's a reason that I continue to partner with them make sure to click the link down below and use the code bookland2 to get 55 off of your first month and that's only around eight dollars for your first month thank you so much once again to Sanford for sponsoring today's video so the first book is the song of Achilles by Madeline Miller this has over a million it has like over a million a hundred thousand I can't say big numbers like that that's so bad and embarrassing it has 1 million and 126 104. is that how no 126 okay you get the point it has a lot of ratings okay I know people have loved this book and it is one that like I want to read it I'm just so nervous because I read Cersei by this author and I just kind of felt okay about it but the song of Achilles is like so beloved everyone seems to be absolutely obsessed with this book so I need to know why like what is all of this hype about it's just when a book is so beloved like that by so many people I'm like how can it possibly live up to that so I guess today I mean not today I guess we'll see once I actually read it I should mention actually if you guys are on my patreon and these like any of the books that I talk about today you would like for a future book club pick then definitely let me know because we can definitely read any of them for a book club I think they would be solid picks for that but I will have my patreon link down below it's just patreon.com Haley and bookland the next book is normal people by Sally Rooney this has 1 million 84 217. I don't even I need to stop with these big numbers I know that this has like a lot of mixed feelings but it kind of went viral and I don't really know why it's so popular the author like does these kind of sad girl books that I feel like most people that I've seen talk about her books haven't liked them to be honest which is kind of weird I didn't pick this one up on my own it's one that I was sent for work to like take a photo of but I just ended up keeping it because I was like maybe like I will just do like a Sally Rooney reading Vlog because I have all three of her most recent books like the difference between this one and the song of Achilles just looking at the average rating the song of Achilles has a really high average rating but normal people it is quite a bit lower like compared to all the other actually books that are here it's quite a bit lower so I think it's just one of those things where people just want to know what all the hype is about which helps is why it has so many ratings next is little fires Everywhere by Celeste ing I ended up picking this book up like solely because I knew it was really popular it wouldn't necessarily like normally be my sort of read or My Vibe but I was like we've been trying different things we've been trying different genres like let's let's try this one out you know and I haven't read it yet obviously but it is one that I am intrigued by I want to know like why so many people seem to really enjoy it but I am a little bit skeptical and this one has one million sixty Thousand and One rating specifically that one person next we have a whole slew of Colleen Hoover so we have reminders of him with over 800 000 November 9 with 750 000 and it starts with us with 712 000 and that one actually came out quite recently so I picked up the whole Omnibus of Colleen Hoover um to do a reading Vlog for and I did the one but I do have a second one that I will do sometime in the future I'm always nervous going into Colleen Hoover books because they have so much hype but I mean it doesn't surprise me to see these three on here I'm sure that there's more if I kept scrolling um because she has been like so popular on book talk she was popular before but now it's like crazy now just as I'm looking at this list before I get to the next book it's kind of interesting there's not very many why a books on here if you guys would like me to do this video but specifically with why a books let me know and I can also do that I've kind of been in like a video idea slump so if you ever have any let a girl know but next is the vanishing half by Brett Bennett I have really been looking forward to reading this book because the concept for it is extremely intriguing and I actually just finished a book that is kind of a little bit similar like it's not the same but it made me think of it for sure it's about like twins who each has a very different upbringing and you're seeing how they're treated based on that or I don't think it's they have a different upbringing they look different I know it's a story about like racial issues and racism specifically is like a great way to say that it seems like it's going to be a very interesting read next is mistborn by Brandon Sanderson no I still have not read this book which is absolutely wild to me it's ridiculous I don't know why I've been putting it off for so long I just need to do it like I really want to try and get to this one this year because it has been so long and I haven't read it yet and I just need to by the way the vanishing half has a 660 000 ratings and mistborn has 570 000 ratings I'm not gonna say the Little Numbers just know like it's a little bit more than that next is the secret history by Donna tart this is another one that is not necessarily My Vibe but I picked it up specifically because there was so much hype surrounding it so this has over 550 000 rating things and this book has been around for a while I'm pretty sure that it came out in like the 90s or something like that I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was the 90s and I think it's like a dark Academia sort of thing I'm not really sure these books are all kind of ones where I just bought them because of the hype honestly next is finally a ya book we have a great girls guide a girl a good Girl's Guide to Murder By Holly Jackson this one like Tick Tock viral and it actually is one of the potential book club picks for the stuff and nonsense book club on my patreon so we might be reading this I'm not sure I kind of like if I had to guess I feel like this one has a good chance of winning the poll but if you're a patron then you can read this with a book club potentially or you can also vote in the poll like if you want to read any of these books here yeah anyways I am just not really into the Mysteries it's kind of interesting so many of these are mystery stories uh but there have been some that I've really enjoyed which is why like I do pick them up and when they're really hedge up ones I feel like I have more of a chance of enjoying them although I wasn't a fan of Gone Girl at all I feel safe giving them a shot at least next is a cord of silver Flames by Sarah J Maas I'm kind of surprised that like Kingdom of Ash isn't here it must be somewhere but Sarah J Maas is of course like so popular and this is the most recent book in the court of thorns and Roses series and I I really need to get caught up on her books it's just been taking me a while like I will do it eventually but court of silver Flames has been here for a while and it has more than 500 000 ratings next is such a fun age by Kylie Reed this has a 460 000 ratings and this is another one I'm really looking forward to it's felt like a babysitter she is a black babysitter and she has she's babysitting like a white kid and then there's this whole thing where people think that she's like kidnapping the baby so once again it's a story about racism and I feel like this is going to be really really chilling next is station 11 by Emily St John Mandel another book that isn't really my vibe but I picked it up kind of because of the hype and also because it is a Canadian author it is a dystopian story and it's set in like the future in I think it's like the Great Lakes area and there's been like a plague or something like that I feel like uh reading it during 2020 may have been a little bit too close to home but now seems like a good time and this one has more than 450 000 ratings crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan is next I don't why I didn't like initially pick up this book but of course it was adapted into a movie that was really popular and this has almost 450 000 ratings I'm not surprised to see this one on here because it's been around for a while now even preceding the movie and it's one that I feel like I will probably like when I finally read it I don't know why Colleen Hoover shows up in like pairs but next we have regretting you and all your perfects by Colleen Hoover which both have around like a little bit more than 400 000 ratings these two were kind of ones like once again I don't really know all that much about Colleen Hoover's books that I have right now except for like the latest one that I have I just know she is so popular and I feel like all your perfects I've heard some really good things about regretting you I haven't heard all that much about from blood and Ash by Jennifer L armentro is next which has 390 000 ratings I picked this up like solely because it was really Tick Tock hyped and I was like oh I'm gonna read it for a reading Vlog but then it kind of takes me a while to get to those ones because I'm such a mood reader that I have a really hard time kind of like not forcing myself but being like okay you're gonna read this like this week I have a really really hard time with that so that has kind of been the case here it's a paranormal romance and yeah I don't we'll see but I do I mean obviously a ton of people are reading it and it has a pretty high average rating next is Pachinko by minjin Lee this has almost 390 000 ratings and this is kind of like this historical fiction epic following a girl in I believe it's in China and it's kind of her story of like getting pregnant out of wedlock and all that happens because of that this has been on my radar a lot recently it's it like seems totally unlike the other books where they're not my vibe this seems totally up my alley next we have another Sally Rooney so we have conversations with friends which has 385 000 ratings and this one once again has like a low average rating but I think that Sally Rooney is just kind of like a controversial author I don't really know why I think I mean part of it because her style of like not using quotation marks I think that's kind of off-putting to some people next is in five years by Rebecca Searle which also has kind of a lower average rating I was sent this book by the publisher didn't know anything about it and I ended up giving it to my sister but then I read another book by this author and my sister had read this one and really enjoyed it so it's made its way back onto my TBR and I didn't realize it was actually this popular like 300 and over 375 000 people have read this one give or take because some people will like give a rating without having read it but you know give or take honestly it's not going to be down to a science and by the time you see this video These numbers will likely be very different but anyways I'm kind of surprised that this is on here it's definitely one that I'm wanting to get to soon because it seems really interesting and when my sister likes a book I feel like that's like really high praise because she can be very picky and just one last book that I'll talk about here is the underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead this has almost 375 000 people who have read this one and that's not really surprising to me I believe it won the Pulitzer Prize and I think it was like an Oprah pick I could be totally wrong with that but I do remember seeing this book like everywhere so the marketing was drastic for it and it's one that I'm really looking forward to reading it seems super cool as I've been getting into more adult reads it's one that I was like I need to get all the adult historical fiction that I haven't read yet and this was definitely on my list okay so those are all the books that I wanted to talk about today I feel like I definitely should do another one where I talk about the most popular why a books that are on my TBR because I talked about hardly any YA books today just the one honestly they don't seem to have like that same popularity level which is kind of interesting so please let me know if you would like that but I might just do it anyways but thank you guys so much for watching today's video so I hope you enjoyed don't forget if you wanted to join like a little Community I have book land on my patreon which will be linked down below for you guys but you can also subscribe to my channel here because I will have a ton of free content out anyways but I will see you guys in another new video soon bye oheveryone it's Haley and today I'm going to be talking about the most popular books that I haven't read yet that I own so the most popular books that are still on my TBR pile I have honestly very interesting read next is mistborn by Brandon Sanderson no I still have not read this book which is absolutely wild to me it's ridiculous I don't know why I've been putting it off for so long I just need to do it like I really want to try and get to this one this year because it has been so long and I haven't read it yet and I just need to by the way the vanishing half has a 660 000 ratings and mistborn has 570 000 ratings I'm not gonna say the Little Numbers just know like it's a little bit more than that next is the secret history by Donna tart this is another one that is not necessarily My Vibe but I picked it up specifically because there was so much hype surrounding it so this has over 550 000 rating things and this book has been around for a while I'm pretty sure that it came out in like the 90s or something like that I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was the 90s and I think it's like a dark Academia sort of thing I'm not really sure these books are all kind of ones where I just bought them because of the hype honestly next is finally a ya book we have a great girls guide a girl a good Girl's Guide to Murder By Holly Jackson this one like Tick Tock viral and it actually is one of the potential book club picks for the stuff and nonsense book club on my patreon so we might be reading this I'm not sure I kind of like if I had to guess I feel like this one has a good chance of winning the poll but if you're a patron then you can read this with a book club potentially or you can also vote in the poll like if you want to read any of these books here yeah anyways I am just not really into the Mysteries it's kind of interesting so many of these are mystery stories uh but there have been some that I've really enjoyed which is why like I do pick them up and when they're really hedge up ones I feel like I have more of a chance of enjoying them although I wasn't a fan of Gone Girl at all I feel safe giving them a shot at least next is a cord of silver Flames by Sarah J Maas I'm kind of surprised that like Kingdom of Ash isn't here it must be somewhere but Sarah J Maas is of course like so popular and this is the most recent book in the court of thorns and Roses series and I I really need to get caught up on her books it's just been taking me a while like I will do it eventually but court of silver Flames has been here for a while and it has more than 500 000 ratings next is such a fun age by Kylie Reed this has a 460 000 ratings and this is another one I'm really looking forward to it's felt like a babysitter she is a black babysitter and she has she's babysitting like a white kid and then there's this whole thing where people think that she's like kidnapping the baby so once again it's a story about racism and I feel like this is going to be really really chilling next is station 11 by Emily St John Mandel another book that isn't really my vibe but I picked it up kind of because of the hype and also because it is a Canadian author it is a dystopian story and it's set in like the future in I think it's like the Great Lakes area and there's been like a plague or something like that I feel like uh reading it during 2020 may have been a little bit too close to home but now seems like a good time and this one has more than 450 000 ratings crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan is next I don't why I didn't like initially pick up this book but of course it was adapted into a movie that was really popular and this has almost 450 000 ratings I'm not surprised to see this one on here because it's been around for a while now even preceding the movie and it's one that I feel like I will probably like when I finally read it I don't know why Colleen Hoover shows up in like pairs but next we have regretting you and all your perfects by Colleen Hoover which both have around like a little bit more than 400 000 ratings these two were kind of ones like once again I don't really know all that much about Colleen Hoover's books that I have right now except for like the latest one that I have I just know she is so popular and I feel like all your perfects I've heard some really good things about regretting you I haven't heard all that much about from blood and Ash by Jennifer L armentro is next which has 390 000 ratings I picked this up like solely because it was really Tick Tock hyped and I was like oh I'm gonna read it for a reading Vlog but then it kind of takes me a while to get to those ones because I'm such a mood reader that I have a really hard time kind of like not forcing myself but being like okay you're gonna read this like this week I have a really really hard time with that so that has kind of been the case here it's a paranormal romance and yeah I don't we'll see but I do I mean obviously a ton of people are reading it and it has a pretty high average rating next is Pachinko by minjin Lee this has almost 390 000 ratings and this is kind of like this historical fiction epic following a girl in I believe it's in China and it's kind of her story of like getting pregnant out of wedlock and all that happens because of that this has been on my radar a lot recently it's it like seems totally unlike the other books where they're not my vibe this seems totally up my alley next we have another Sally Rooney so we have conversations with friends which has 385 000 ratings and this one once again has like a low average rating but I think that Sally Rooney is just kind of like a controversial author I don't really know why I think I mean part of it because her style of like not using quotation marks I think that's kind of off-putting to some people next is in five years by Rebecca Searle which also has kind of a lower average rating I was sent this book by the publisher didn't know anything about it and I ended up giving it to my sister but then I read another book by this author and my sister had read this one and really enjoyed it so it's made its way back onto my TBR and I didn't realize it was actually this popular like 300 and over 375 000 people have read this one give or take because some people will like give a rating without having read it but you know give or take honestly it's not going to be down to a science and by the time you see this video These numbers will likely be very different but anyways I'm kind of surprised that this is on here it's definitely one that I'm wanting to get to soon because it seems really interesting and when my sister likes a book I feel like that's like really high praise because she can be very picky and just one last book that I'll talk about here is the underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead this has almost 375 000 people who have read this one and that's not really surprising to me I believe it won the Pulitzer Prize and I think it was like an Oprah pick I could be totally wrong with that but I do remember seeing this book like everywhere so the marketing was drastic for it and it's one that I'm really looking forward to reading it seems super cool as I've been getting into more adult reads it's one that I was like I need to get all the adult historical fiction that I haven't read yet and this was definitely on my list okay so those are all the books that I wanted to talk about today I feel like I definitely should do another one where I talk about the most popular why a books that are on my TBR because I talked about hardly any YA books today just the one honestly they don't seem to have like that same popularity level which is kind of interesting so please let me know if you would like that but I might just do it anyways but thank you guys so much for watching today's video so I hope you enjoyed don't forget if you wanted to join like a little Community I have book land on my patreon which will be linked down below for you guys but you can also subscribe to my channel here because I will have a ton of free content out anyways but I will see you guys in another new video soon bye oh\n"
