SoundPEATS Opera 05 & Opera 03 Review

**Earbuds Review: Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes**

When it comes to earbuds, there are many options available on the market, each with its own unique features and benefits. In this review, we will be taking a closer look at two earbuds from the Opera Zero series: the Opera Zero Fives and the Opera Zero Threes.

The first thing that stands out about these earbuds is their design and comfort. The Silicon tips fit snugly into my ears, providing excellent passive noise isolation. However, I do find them to be a bit bulkier than some other earbuds on the market, weighing in at around 7 grams. While they are not uncomfortable to wear, they may not be the best option for those who plan to use them for extended periods of time while engaging in high-intensity activities such as jogging.

Despite this, I find the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes to be very comfortable to wear during casual listening sessions. They are designed to fit comfortably in your ears, and once you get used to them, they become second nature. The earbuds also feature a unique design that allows for easy insertion and removal, making them convenient to use on-the-go.

In terms of sound quality, the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes are truly impressive. They feature hybrid drivers with balanced armatures, which provide excellent sound reproduction and detail. The bass is deep and rumbling, while the highs are crisp and clear. I am particularly impressed by the Opera Zero Five's ability to handle high-frequency sounds without distorting or compressing them.

One of the standout features of these earbuds is their use of the LDEC codec. This codec provides excellent sound quality with a high bit rate, which is perfect for music enthusiasts who want to experience their favorite tunes in the best possible way. The LDEC codec allows for higher quality audio transmission, resulting in a more detailed and nuanced listening experience.

I am also impressed by the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes' microphone quality. They feature a high-quality mic that provides clear and crisp voice calls, making them perfect for those who want to use their earbuds for voice communication. Whether you're using them for video conferencing or just want to take calls on the go, these earbuds deliver excellent sound quality.

In terms of features, the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes offer a range of settings that allow you to customize your listening experience. They feature a standard mode and an "A" mode with active noise cancellation (ANC). The ANC is not as strong as some other earbuds on the market, but it does provide a noticeable reduction in ambient noise.

The Opera Zero Fives also come with voice prompts, which can be helpful for those who are new to using Bluetooth earbuds. The voice prompts provide clear instructions and warnings, making it easy to get started with your earbuds.

One area where I think the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes could improve is in terms of battery life. When using them for extended periods of time while engaging in high-intensity activities such as jogging, I find that the battery life can be a bit short. However, this is likely due to the higher bit rate used by the LDEC codec, which consumes more energy.

The earbuds also come with a charging case that provides additional storage for your earbuds when you're not using them. The charging case has a standard USB port and is designed to be compact and portable.

In terms of pricing, the Opera Zero Fives are available for $99, while the Opera Zero Threes are priced at $79. While these prices may seem steep, I believe that they are well worth it for those who want high-quality earbuds with excellent sound reproduction and features.

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed by the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes. They offer excellent sound quality, comfortable design, and a range of features that make them perfect for music enthusiasts and voice communication users alike. Whether you're looking for a new pair of earbuds to enhance your listening experience or just want to try out Bluetooth earbuds, the Opera Zero Fives and Zero Threes are definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ennow there's a lot of earbuds out there in the market but there aren't so many for under a  hundred US dollars that support the audit codec have balanced armatures and a dynamic driver which  these do they're from sound Pete's they are the Oprah zero threes and the zero fives now the zero  five is the top spec most expensive version but it has two Dynamic drivers so they're handling the  highs some of the meds there and a dynamic driver that is 12 millimeters for your lows and a bit of  those mids too as well now they support active noise cancellation they do have a transparency  mode and with this particular model you get a run time of up to nine hours that is not using our  deck codec that is using the SBC codec and without the active noise cancellation and in total up to  33 hours inside the Box you will find of both the Opera zero fives and the zero three is a type A to  type c cable charge time has one and a half hours there is a small piece of paper here which does  introduce you to the application for it which I'll be covering in this review and we do have  this a user guide now it's got a lot of useful information in here how to reset the earbuds the  touch controls and also how to gauge the status LED in accordance with our battery life we have  left remaining the other thing you'll find is this some additional silicon tips so we do have some  small ones and then some extra large or large and the mediums are already on the Opera zero fives or  zero threes so the total weight of these earbuds 59 grams that's pretty standard there we get an  additional three just over three charges with the case and the earbuds weigh about seven grams each  the difference between the Opera zero five which is here on the left and the Opera zero three is  the color of them you can see case is slightly different there is silver with the more cheaper  model the more expensive model the sound quality difference is it does have an additional balanced  armor to driver so we've got two balanced diameter drivers 12 millimeter Dynamic driver versus the  single balanced armature driver and then that 12 millimeter Dynamic driver battery life the  same kind of specs with the rest of them is all identical the weights really are exactly the  same you can't really tell that difference and it does have the same battery run time between  them even though we're running the extra driver so here on the left of the case there is a reset  button for the earbuds which is good we've got the status LED here on the front and in  the user guide it does break down the color of that led and how you can gauge the remaining  battery life so right now when I open it up and close it or it's a little hard to see but that  is green there so I've got a full charge with it so the earbuds sit inside nice and snug you can  see the goal order trim there on the outside and with the Opera zero three here that is a  silver trim and slightly different color there too again so we've got the the glossy finish  there versus more of a matte black around that part of the trim there so that is another area  where the difference there so just look a little different so the lid here it doesn't rattle and  if I give them a bit of a shake they're not going to Rattle around inside which is good because I  hate having earbuds that rattle when you've got them in your pocket it's just a minor noise that  you don't really need so it does State here sound Petes there's our type c port for charging and as  I mentioned it is about 1.5 hours now run time on a single charge using the SBC codec is nine hours  you get an additional just over three charges now if you use ldac and you're using the noise  canceling that's before with it off it really drops the battery life down then to about five  to six hours with that ldap codec because of a higher bit rate it consumes a lot more energy  the build quality of that case the Plastics used and then the earbuds themselves is excellent it's  very good so we have our capacitive touch controls on this area here with the sound  Pete's logo plastic around the outside here this is our mic for the voice calls and I'll give you  a sample later on of that and here we do have the contact points there for charging so others use  Pogo Port pin connectors slightly different here so we have a positive and negative on either side  there too so an inner microphone there you can see we have our silicon tips now the Silicon tips have  an inner to them that is slightly uh stronger than the outside softer silicon which I do like  this they're good silicon tips and they haven't softened up on me using them now for a week which  is good which I found with some other brands they tend to lose their seal and of course use the tips  that fit you the best for me it is these mediums here and that's going to give you the best noise  reduction and it's also going to give you the best sound quality too of course so very good build to  them and overall I like it you can see up the top here there's the other microphone so three mics  in total the inner the top one and this one right here they use all of those for the active noise  canceling and the noise canceling with voice calls too now if you are watching this review here one  of the key reasons I want to point out for getting these is this the ldec codec that I talked about  before so it is using a much higher bit rate than say SBC and even AAC codec it's Superior in every  single way and look on Google you can see just how high that bit rate is and what it does offer  to my ears at least is basically wired quality like you're using a 3.5 millimeter headphone  jack but with of course wireless earbuds now with this phone that I'm using supports our deck it is  the redmi k30 pro Zoom it's basically the Poco F2 it's not a new phone it's got the Snapdragon 865  but the ldx support is what I want here so here in this UI at least it gives me the battery life  and I got the option if I go into it right here I can disable Our Deck if I wanted to so I can  fall back to SBC if I want the superior battery life that's the only real bad side the downside  to our DAC is it hits the battery and hits it very hard so you lose about 40 battery versus  using the inferior codecs so really at the time of the day if you don't need a run time of nine  hours uh that's of course with A and C off if you don't mind just about five six hours use our deck  you're really going to hear the difference if your phone supports it the application is just simply  called sound Peaks and they've been using it for a while it's a good app it's straightforward so  it will take a little while sometimes to search and find the model and once that is added you'll  be presented then with a prompt to update the firmware so there is a firmware that will take  us up to version 1.0.0 at the time of this video at least and you can see our battery life so the  case battery life isn't showing here but we've got that status LED remember there and you do  get those additional three charges so it's not too hard to keep track of so here you'll see we've got  our volume control noise reduction so you can set ANC mode normal mode transparent mode so that's  basically an ambient mode you can hear all the background noises train platform announcements  Cobra because whatever you can disable the uh one click functionality if you wanted to turn that off  and you can see your own custom equalizer 2 which is great now this is an equalizer that is saved  onto these earbuds so whatever you use if you're watching videos on Netflix it will be using the  applied equalizer which I really do like so here are the presets they have now sound Pete's classic  is the default and that's what I've been using I did test out bass boost and it really does make  a difference boosts up those loads of course and you've got all different options there for other  genres of music so it is a simple app and really what more would you want it's got the firmware  updates the equalizers setting things there if you're someone that loves crisp detailed highs  and you really go for rock music it's one of your favorite genres you're gonna love these especially  the Opera zero fives now the zero fives they've got of course that additional balanced armature  there's two of them there and I do find the highs are they're really coming through they're so crisp  they're so detailed and the thing is using the Our Deck codec boy do you hear the difference compared  to SBC you're not getting any of that horrible Distortion that compression you get with Bluetooth  it's just gone even though yes it's Bluetooth what I mean with the standard dated terrible codecs  really like SBC it's not an amazing codec when you look at the bitrate it's downright terrible really  compared to ldac so the mid sound good very good vocals bass plenty of Bass from that 12 millimeter  Dynamic driver mids are also really good but it's definitely that that treble those highs  when I first used the zero fives I almost had to dial it down a little bit with the equalizer  but right now I'm just using a flat equalizer but the sound Pete's default one with their  application and to my ears very good so excellent sound quality coming out of both of these models  you really can't go wrong I think everyone should be happy with these bass lovers you're going to  still love it the bass isn't it may be as super powerful as some of the other models out there  but I feel it's a good balance it's not overdone there's no clipping either and there is certainly  no Distortion at high volume levels which these can do so can you use these earbuds for watching  things like streaming video content right now Top Gun it's in time perfectly I've tested this out  quite a few times and Netflix Amazon Prime video it's in sync right now I feel almost perfect with  Tom Cruise's mouth and that's great the only area where you will notice a little bit of latency  delay a bit of an issue is when you game with this now I am actually using the ldap codec here which  I thought because of the high bit rate could have some latency issues but for streaming video seems  it doesn't microphone wise what can you expect so I have these added to my PC paired up with  Bluetooth of course and I'm recording directly into the timeline of Adobe Premiere Pro just to  give you an exact sample of what you can expect out of these microphones and I do think they are  really good they come through nice and clear what about the comfort then of wearing these  they are a little bit bigger and that's the first thing you notice too that when you put them in  your ears clearly labeled two here with the case that you need to insert them and then give them  a bit of a twist down and then the fit is quite snug and straight away with the Silicon tips at  least for me with the mediums they give me some good passive noise isolation so you can see now  like they're not exactly tiny they're not small you do notice that they're a little bit bulkier  and they weigh about seven grams as I showed you before each now I find them comfortable however  they're not earbuds that I could really recommend to people that are going to go jogging with this I  found that when I even run up and down the stairs here move about a lot that it feels like sometimes  they all hang on these could fall out I do find myself doing that odd you know just pushing them  in a little bit or give them a bit of a Twist now and then just to make sure they're sitting in  there but once once you do twist them in they sit in there quite well so what about the active noise  canceling then so when you turn it on you've got the voice prompt that'll tell you so you've got  your standard mode and then it says A and C on and a female voice with those voice prompts in English  of course and you do hear it suddenly I can't hear Tower PC the heating that's currently on that fan  nope can't really hear it now I wouldn't say these have the best ANC that I've tested in  some Tito's earbuds but it is very good and what I do like about these as I pointed out before is  that they do of course have that our deck codec now the ldec codec for me is absolutely fantastic  I really can't distinguish the difference between using wide and then Our Deck because that bit rate  is so good it for me literally just removes all of that compression that you often hear with the  old school older codecs like SBC for the highs you do hear some Distortion some compression  there and to me that's ugly that's just horrible and one of the reasons in the beginning I wasn't  really switching over to Bluetooth Tech but with our deck it certainly comes through and  if you're really into music with the Opera zero F5s here you've got the two hybrid drivers and the  sorry they're balanced amateurs and then the hybrid which sounds fantastic so if you love  your detailed crisp highs as I mentioned these are the ones to get you get good bass as well  vocals sound good then fantastic tune out of them out of the box they do sound really good volume's  great and they don't distort when you push up that volume really loud too as well so overall  I'm loving these I like these earbuds and I think for the price tag you can't really go  wrong so at the time of me recording this video there will be a slightly lower early bird price  but the standard pricing is 99 US dollars for the Oprah zero fives and 79 for the Oprah zero  threes and those zero threes even though they're missing out one of the balanced armatures are  still excellent you still get that same really good mic quality as well for voice calls so what  about areas where I think they can improve upon that I don't particularly like about these well  not much at all the only thing I can really think of of me is the fitted them is sometimes what I  just mentioned before that uh it's not like a sports earbud I would not go running in these  and that is basically lit and the battery life when you run aldak it could be a bit longer and  I wish we had more additional charges out of the case but sadly that is the trade-off with  the ldec codec that higher bit rate consumes a lot more energy so thank you so much for  watching my review of these fantastic earbuds the sound Pete's Opera zero fives and zero threes\n"
