17 ACTUAL Instagram Tricks You Didn’t Know Existed!

One of the lesser-known features inside of Instagram is the ability to bookmark posts you've liked. This can be super useful if you liked something on Instagram a while back, but then forgot who posted it, or you couldn't find any more because that person posts a lot on their account. You can go back to all the likes that you've actually liked on Instagram and see every single post you've liked there. It's kind of like a great way to bookmark posts on Instagram.

For example, if you liked a post from someone years ago, but you don't remember who posted it, you can use this feature to find out who did. Just go to your "likes" page and see all the posts that are still available for you to view. You'll be able to find that specific post there.

Another great feature inside of Instagram is archiving. This allows you to archive your stories and your posts, so you can go back and see what you posted a while back, or remove Instagram posts from your account without fully deleting them. To do this, just tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the post or story you want to archive, then select "Archive". This will show all of your archived stories and posts.

You can also go to settings to see a list of all of your archived content. Just go to settings, then privacy, then activity status, and toggle off "Show When I'm Online" if you don't want people to be able to tell when you're online or offline. This is a good feature to keep on if you don't want people knowing your Instagram habits.

If you have a significant other, this can also be a useful feature for keeping your accounts private. You can use it to hide your activity status and prevent them from seeing when you're online or offline. However, some people may not like this feature because they might share their Instagram activity with others.

Another great feature of archiving is that you can go back and watch every single story that you posted, even if you've already deleted the post itself. To do this, just tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the story, then select "Watch Archive". This will show all of your archived stories.

You'll also be able to see the amount of people who watched each story. Unfortunately, you won't be able to see a list of people who watched each story, but this feature is still really useful for tracking engagement on your Instagram content.

In addition to archiving, Instagram also has a feature called "Highlights". This allows you to add stories to specific highlights in your profile, which can help tell a more complete story about your life. To use Highlights, just tap the "+" button in the top right corner of your screen, then select "Highlight". You'll be able to name and customize your highlight, and then add stories to it as needed.

Highlights are a great way to organize your Instagram content and make it easier for others to see what you're up to. They can also help you build a more cohesive and engaging online presence. If you haven't already, consider using Highlights in your Instagram profile to showcase your interests and hobbies.

Finally, if you want to get the most out of your Instagram experience, be sure to keep an eye on updates to the app. New features are constantly being added, so it's worth staying on top of the latest changes to make the most of what Instagram has to offer.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and today I'm gonna be showing you 14 Instagram tips and tricks that you may not know exists now these are gonna be both for Instagram stories and for Instagram in general and I did also post a couple videos showing off the best iPhone tips and tricks that you didn't know existed so you can definitely check those out after watching this video links are up in the car its end down in the description below but anyways this video is all about Instagram tips and tricks so let's go ahead and get right into it so the first tip is going to be activating dark mode inside of Instagram this is going to be exclusive for iOS 13 users and this is also just included in instagrams latest update so to do this all you have to do is enable dark mode on your device system-wide and it will actually enable it automatically here with an Instagram as you can see I just did there straight from the control center so you can see it's like a real deep black it's a true black looks really good on OLED panels this is an iPhone 11 with an LCD display but it looks really good on OLED panels and you can see here it's dark throughout the entire OS on your feed everywhere throughout Instagram the next little trick is how to unlock instagrams hidden filters inside of the story so if we go over to our story here you know how you have the filters here we can make these cool little filters they've been there for a while however there's a new repository of a ton of different filters if you go to the very very in here you will see browse effects if you tap on that you will see some very unique new filters that you can apply to your face and some of them are pretty crazy and pretty cool here inside of Instagram so if you wanted to spice up your Instagram stories and stand out and have people ask you how you did that this is where you go to try out these filters and you can see up top you could sort it by Instagram selfies love color and light you can kind of change it there we tap on this fall vibe zone right here you can see we have some fall filters right here so we want to do something like I don't know fall bloom right here tap on try it and then it will have you look for your face and I would go ahead and record myself doing this little selfie here so you could see the effect working you can see there pretty cool and then you could just add it straight to your story right there so like I said there are quite a few to choose from you could tap right here and you can to save the camera roll and you can browse effects and things like that as well and if you want to go back to that list just tap on the X right there it'll take you back right here tap X again and it'll take you right back to where you were so you can see all of these different filters you can use and there are a ton there's a lot of different categories you can go into and really do a lot of fun stuff there on your stories the next little trick is how to download any Instagram photo or video straight to your camera roll so for this all you need is a shortcut that I will have linked down in the description below and once you have that installed I want to do is to click on the three dots or whatever photo or video you want to save go to share to and then scroll down until you see the name of that shortcut SMB social media download a 4.0 point to go ahead and tap on that it will run through the process right here and you will see this right here top with a little share icon up in the top right save image and then it will be inside of your camera roll and I will show you a video as well just to show you that it does work so we'll just do this video right here go to share to SMD 4.0.2 and by the way that version may be updated if you're watching this at a future date but anyways you can see the video right here go ahead tap on the share save video and then if we go ahead to our camera roll right here you can see that video is saved straight to our camera roll and there is the photo that we just saved as well works really really well now the next little trick is going to be a way to actually see how you're being targeted by companies when you see those ads on your feeds if you go to your three dots right here you also see a lot of other personal information doing this as well if you go to the three dots go to settings and then go to security and go down here to access data you can actually see some really cool information so you can see there it shows the date you joined your password changes your former email addresses or former phone numbers your former user names all that stuff but if you scroll all the way down to the bottom here you will see a very interesting one that says ads interests and this actually shows how companies are targeting you and you know how you get certain ads as based off of your interests right here and if you click on view more you can see everything right here so you can see it shows soccer I'm not sure why I'm being targeted by soccer I don't even really watch you can see their hip hop music interior design food television basketball things like that so it's really interesting if you're ever wondering how you were being targeted for ads this is a good starting point to see where some of your interests are based on your profile and the photos you like and things like that now the next tip is going to be adding alt text to your photos so this is great for those with visual impairments people that are blind and it's also better suiting for the Instagram algorithm for SEO inside of Google and things like that so basically let me just go ahead and show you what I mean so we're gonna go ahead and post a new photo here if we go to next and we get to this page right here right before we post it so if you go to advanced settings right here you will see down there all the way at the bottom it says write alt text so this is actually pretty cool it can definitely benefit you so you shouldn't just copy your caption this is where you should actually write exactly what the photo is so I just took a picture let me see what is this picture so for instance this is just a keyboard with some iPhone so maybe I'll say Apple keyboard and ten iPhones and there we go so there you go that will show up now for those with visual impairments who may use applications you know to be able to read what the photos are if they're blind and also this does get picked up by the YouTube algorithm and also for Google like SEO purposes so I would definitely take advantage of that if you are trying to grow your account or if you have some people that are visually impaired that may follow you you could also go ahead and edit this after you've already taken a picture so if you go ahead and go to the three dots right here and go to edit you can see there on the right hand side it says edit alt text tap on that and you're able to put it in right there now the next tip is how to unsend dm's or how to unsend messages that you send on Instagram so if I just say hey to somebody you can see there I don't have to do it right away either I could do it the next day as long as they haven't seen it you're good you can remove it and they will never see it I have to do is tap and hold on the bubble and you'll see right there it says unsend tap on that and it says unsend message unsetting will remove this message for everyone people may have already seen it so just go and tap on sin and there you go it's gone as long as it didn't show like the little scene badge down there that they already saw it they will never know that you sent them a message now the next tip is really a two-for-one so I'm gonna give you two tips here in this one that's how to secretly view an Instagram story and also how to save an Instagram story so the first one is secretly viewing a story and this is something for a really long time it's worked for years now but a lot of people don't know this though so basically if you want to watch somebody's story and you don't want them to see you know your name popping up as you viewed it all you have to do is go to a person before or after them so say I want to watch this story right here I'm going to go to one beside them and I'm just gonna swipe over like this and I can pretty much see the full context of whatever they posted on their story assuming they only have one thing on their story and you can see pretty much all of it right there the more you you know pull over the more you can see and as long as you don't actually go all the way on to that story they will never show that you actually viewed their story now if they have multiple stories and like videos and things like that and you really want to watch them but you really don't want them to know that you've watched it there is also the option to watch their stories and then block them and then unblock them after 24 hours and after you block them they'll never see your name as viewing all their stories now that's a little a little ridiculous and a little bit extreme but that is also another option if you really want to hide the fact that you're viewing somebody's story so now let me show you how to save an Instagram story and all you want to do is go through stories IG comm and then what you're here all you have to do is put in the username of that person of course it does have to be a public profile it cannot be a private profile so I'm just gonna put in logic like so and you will see that it will actually pull up his stories right here so go ahead and tap on this and scroll down and you will see there's a video right here 24 hours ago he gives you the download button right there it shows you the exact time and date that that story was you can see multiple videos there's a photo that he posted on a story you can see it goes on and on you could actually download every single thing here and again with iOS 13 do have a download manager built in to Safari so if you tap on download download right there it saves it right to your iCloud Drive you can say that to your camera roll from there so that's an easy way to save stories from a public account on Instagram and that is also another way to view an Instagram story or stories without them seeing your name pop up as viewing it now the next tip is deleting tagged photos so a lot of people don't know that you can actually remove a Tagg of yourself right here so for instance if I don't want this showing up on my profile I don't want people to go into my profile and seeing my tagged photos all I have to do is you can see here I'm tagged in this photo go to the three dots on that photo and you can see here photo options and you could do either one of two things you can remove me from post or just hide from my profile if you just really don't want people seeing it on your profile you could choose hide from my profile if you don't want to be tagged at all and don't want anybody seeing that you're tagged you can remove me from the post so there's a lot of spam accounts out there that will just tag random people and it can get really annoying it'll make your account look pretty spammy so this is definitely a way to combat that now speaking of spam the next tip also has to do with spam and that is limiting your comments to only those that are following you or that you're following so if you go to my photo right here you can see I have 39 comments but all 39 of those comments are from people that are actually following me or I'm following them and ever since I've changed the setting I've noticed how I have not had any spam comments no automated comments no great picture you know great photo things like that anymore which are really annoying and clearly fake so definitely go ahead and do this so all you want to do is go to your profile go to the three dots right here go to settings privacy comments and then you can see right there allow comments from go ahead and tap on that and just go ahead and do either your follows or people you follow so I must have changed this around while I was preparing for this video but I want to go ahead and set it to people you follow and your followers by default it is set to everyone you should definitely go ahead and change that setting here inside of Instagram and you may see some other settings in here that you'll want to change as well now the next tip is how to add a line break to a photo so if I go to this photo right here take a look at the caption you'll notice in the caption I have a line break between there where I said taken by iPhone 10s Max and my original caption so I'm going to show you how to do that all it is is just a bunch of invisible characters so just go here to this photo right here and we're gonna add a line break and put something below where I said which iPhone 11 would you choose so we're gonna click on these three dots go to edit and I'm gonna go down one line right here I'm gonna paste this invisible text right here which I will have down in the description below for you to just copy once you have that put in right there just go and click on return once again oh good one more line and I could just put in some random numbers or letters right there tap on done and then you will see in my caption I have a nice little line break right there this can be very useful if you want to make like a really long caption you want to break it up into pieces so it's not really hard to read this is a great way to do that now I talked about stories earlier and there's actually another really good tip for story so a lot of times people have put a lot of text on the screen or you just want to see something for longer than the time you'll see the time of running out and then you may have to just go back you keep watching it again we could actually pause that by swiping down a little bit just very lightly pull down and the photo or video will stay paused and that spot as long as you need it to be so for instance if I wasn't able to read this text right here because I'm too busy looking at beautiful Yosemite in the distance I could just pull down real quick or just touch and hold anywhere and you can see there it pauses the video and I could just sit there and read and look at whatever I want for as long as I want so again super beneficial for if somebody has something really long on their story that you want to read or if you just want to pause anything at any time and somebody's story now speaking of stories if we go over to our story right here take a random picture I'm going to show you how to get a solid color background so you have to do is go up here to these little squiggly lines right here choose a color I'll choose blue and then tap and hold on the surface you can see it turns the entire background blue just like so and you could just ride over it or you can use the eraser to kind of do like a reveal of something and actually if we go all the way back I'll show you how to get a transparent background as well so all we're gonna do is tap on the third marker right there instead of the first one then tap blue again tap and hold and you'll see it is more transparent you can't really tell here because of a flat surface but it will be a transparent background instead of just a full-on color so this can make for some really fun stories if you wanted to do like a reveal we just wanted to have some text in there and look real fancy that is a nice and easy way to do so now another cool story hack is how to get multiple photos inside of one story slide so basically if you go ahead and tap and add this photo right here and then we go over to our photos and we want to add so we wanted to add this thermometer right there all we do is go to share and then we're going to go down and copy photo and then we're gonna go right back to Instagram like so and you can see right there it pops up add sticker go ahead tap that and it adds it right in here just like so and that works with any photo and it actually works really well it's great for making collages or just adding a photo on top of another it can look really good here inside of Instagram stories now another little trick I'll show you right here is how to get glowing emoji so all you want to do is go ahead and tap on your emoji we'll just do this one right here and then we're just gonna go ahead and go to neon right here and you'll see the background is like a cool little glow effect on it right there you can actually change that glow color too you wanted to be like red or like purple you can see right there it changes the glow in the background I know a lot of people see that done that a couple times and people have asked me how I'd do it so that is how you get a glowing little emoji there you can see there with the black background it looks a little bit better but anyways moving on to the next tip if we go out of our stories here and go back over to our account right here tap the three dots tap on settings and if you go to account right here and posts you've liked it actually shows all of the posts you've ever liked here on Instagram this is a really really awesome feature that's kind of hidden inside of your settings but this is great if you liked something a while back on Instagram and you kind of forgot you know who posted it or you can't find any more because that person posts a lot on their account you can go back to all the likes that you've actually liked on Instagram where all the posts you've liked on Instagram I should say and be able to find that specific post it's kind of like a great way to bookmark posts on Instagram I use it a lot it's a really great way to see every single post you've liked here on Instagram it could also be used against you if you do have a significant other so just be aware of that now something else that a lot of people don't know about inside of Instagram is archiving so you can archive your stories and your post so this is great for going back and seeing you know what you posted a while back or being able to remove Instagram posts like actual published posts from your account without fully deleting them so all you have to do is go to these three dots right here and then you will see archive right there and this actually shows all of your archived you know right here it's set to default on your story so that shows all of my stories right here from my archive and if I go tap on this right here you can go ahead and alternate between stories and posts if I go to posts right here that shows some posts that I didn't fully delete but they are you know fill my account they're just hidden from my profile but if we go back to stories you can actually go back and fully watch every single story that you posted you can also see the amount of people that watch that you can't actually see the list of people that watched it unfortunately but you can see the amount of people that saw your story you also have things like you could highlight it later as well if maybe you wanted to highlight something but you weren't there you know you didn't make it within 24 hours you can go back to your archives and you can go ahead and highlight it and add it to your highlights which by the way take advantage of highlights if you haven't already you can see right here I have some highlights basically just highlighting some trips I did and things like that to do that I have to do is tap on this little new highlight right here you can go ahead and add stories and you can name them and things like that so really beneficial as well adds a lot to your profile tells a lot of people about you and the type of stuff you do as well so and then the final tip I wanted to show you guys is how to hide your activity status so if you guys didn't know if you go to your messages when somebody's online you will see a little green you know bubble that shows they're online if they're offline it shows how long they've been offline like the last time they were on the Instagram app now if you want to hide that you can do that inside of settings so if we go to these three dots right here settings privacy activity status you can go ahead and toggle that off right there within settings and that's a good thing to keep off if you don't want people knowing when you're on and off of Instagram which most people probably don't really want other people to know when they're on or off and what they're ignoring them or you know they just don't want people in doing that type of information so there you have it guys those are like 15 16 I went a little bit over 14 but those are some good tips for you guys for your Instagram stories and just for Instagram in general if you have any other tips or tricks that I didn't mention and you don't think a lot of people know about make sure let me know down in the comment section below I do Instagram in general and I did also post a couple videos showing off the best iPhone tips and tricks that you didn't know existed so you can definitely check those out after watching this video links are up in the car its end down in the description below but anyways this video is all about Instagram tips and tricks so let's go ahead and get right into it so the first tip is going to be activating dark mode inside of Instagram this is going to be exclusive for iOS 13 users and this is also just included in instagrams latest update so to do this all you have to do is enable dark mode on your device system-wide and it will actually enable it automatically here with an Instagram as you can see I just did there straight from the control center so you can see it's like a real deep black it's a true black looks really good on OLED panels this is an iPhone 11 with an LCD display but it looks really good on OLED panels and you can see here it's dark throughout the entire OS on your feed everywhere throughout Instagram the next little trick is how to unlock instagrams hidden filters inside of the story so if we go over to our story here you know how you have the filters here we can make these cool little filters they've been there for a while however there's a new repository of a ton of different filters if you go to the very very in here you will see browse effects if you tap add it straight to your story right there so like I said there are quite a few to choose from you could tap right here and you can to save the camera roll and you can browse effects and things like that as well and if you want to go back to that list just tap on the X right there it'll take you back right here tap X again and it'll take you right back to where you were so you can see all of these different filters you can use and there are a ton there's a lot of different categories you can go into and really do a lot of fun stuff there on your stories the next little trick is how to download any Instagram photo or video straight to your camera roll so for this all you need is a shortcut that I will have linked down in the description below and once you have that installed I want to do is to click on the three dots or whatever photo or video you want to save go to share to and then scroll down until you see the name of that shortcut SMB social media download a 4.0 point to go ahead and tap on that it will run through the process right here and you will see this right here top with a little share icon up in the top right save image and then it will be inside of your camera roll and I will show you a video as well just to show you that it does work so we'll just do this video right here go to share to SMD 4.0.2 and by the way that version may be updated if you're watching this at a future date but anyways you can see the video right here go ahead tap on the share save video and then if we go ahead to our camera roll right here you can see that video is saved straight to our camera roll and there is the photo that we just saved as well works really really well now the next little trick is going to be a way to actually see how you're being targeted by companies when you see those ads on your feeds if you go to your three dots right here you also see a lot of other personal information doing this as well if you go to the three dots go to settings and then go to security and go down here to access data you can actually see some really cool information so you can see there it shows the date you joined your password changes your former email addresses or former phone numbers your former user names all that stuff but if you scroll all the way down to the bottom here you will see a very interesting one that says ads interests and this actually shows how companies are targeting you and you know how you get certain ads as based off of your interests right here and if you click on view more you can see everything right here so you can see it shows soccer I'm not sure why I'm being targeted by soccer I don't even really watch you can see their hip hop music interior design food television basketball things like that so it's really interesting if you're ever wondering how you were being targeted for ads this is a good starting point to see where some of your interests are based on your profile and the photos you like and things like that now the next tip is going to be adding alt text to your photos so this is great for those with visual impairments people that are blind and it's also better suiting for the Instagram algorithm for SEO inside of Google and things like that so basically let me just go ahead and show you what I mean so we're gonna go ahead and post a new photo here if we go to next and we get to this page right here right before we post it so if you go to advanced settings right here you will see down there all the way at the bottom it says write alt text so this is actually pretty cool it can definitely benefit you so you shouldn't just copy your caption this is where you should actually write exactly what the photo is so I just took a picture let me see what is this picture so for instance this is just a keyboard with some iPhone so maybe I'll say Apple keyboard and ten iPhones and there we go so there you go that will show up now for those with visual impairments who may use applications you know to be able to read what the photos are if they're blind and also this does get picked up by the YouTube algorithm and also for Google like SEO purposes so I would definitely take advantage of that if you are trying to grow your account or if you have some people that are visually impaired that may follow you you could also go ahead and edit this after you've already taken a picture so if you go ahead and go to the three dots right here and go to edit you can see there on the right hand side it says edit alt text tap on that and you're able to put it in right there now the next tip is how to unsend dm's or how to unsend messages that you send on Instagram so if I just say hey to somebody you can see there I don't have to do it right away either I could do it the next day as long as they haven't seen it you're good you can remove it and they will never see it I have to do is tap and hold on the bubble and you'll see right there it says unsend tap on that and it says unsend message unsetting will remove this message for everyone people may have already seen it so just go and tap on sin and there you go it's gone as long as it didn't show like the little scene badge down there that they already saw it they will never know that you sent them a message now the next tip is really a two-for-one so I'm gonna give you two tips here in this one that's how to secretly view an Instagram story and also how to save an Instagram story so the first one is secretly viewing a story and this is something for a really long time it's worked for years now but a lot of people don't know this though so basically if you want to watch somebody's story and you don't want them to see you know your name popping up as you viewed it all you have to do is go to a person before or after them so say I want to watch this story right here I'm going to go to one beside them and I'm just gonna swipe over like this and I can pretty much see the full context of whatever they posted on their story assuming they only have one thing on their story and you can see pretty much all of it right there the more you you know pull over the more you can see and as long as you don't actually go all the way on to that story they will never show that you actually viewed their story now if they have multiple stories and like videos and things like that and you really want to watch them but you really don't want them to know that you've watched it there is also the option to watch their stories and then block them and then unblock them after 24 hours and after you block them they'll never see your name as viewing all their stories now that's a little a little ridiculous and a little bit extreme but that is also another option if you really want to hide the fact that you're viewing somebody's story so now let me show you how to save an Instagram story and all you want to do is go through stories IG comm and then what you're here all you have to do is put in the username of that person of course it does have to be a public profile it cannot be a private profile so I'm just gonna put in logic like so and you will see that it will actually pull up his stories right here so go ahead and tap on this and scroll down and you will see there's a video right here 24 hours ago he gives you the download button right there it shows you the exact time and date that that story was you can see multiple videos there's a photo that he posted on a story you can see it goes on and on you could actually download every single thing here and again with iOS 13 do have a download manager built in to Safari so if you tap on download download right there it saves it right to your iCloud Drive you can say that to your camera roll from there so that's an easy way to save stories from a public account on Instagram and that is also another way to view an Instagram story or stories without them seeing your name pop up as viewing it now the next tip is deleting tagged photos so a lot of people don't know that you can actually remove a Tagg of yourself right here so for instance if I don't want this showing up on my profile I don't want people to go into my profile and seeing my tagged photos all I have to do is you can see here I'm tagged in this photo go to the three dots on that photo and you can see here photo options and you could do either one of two things you can remove me from post or just hide from my profile if you just really don't want people seeing it on your profile you could choose hide from my profile if you don't want to be tagged at all and don't want anybody seeing that you're tagged you can remove me from the post so there's a lot of spam accounts out there that will just tag random people and it can get really annoying it'll make your account look pretty spammy so this is definitely a way to combat that now speaking of spam the next tip also has to do with spam and that is limiting your comments to only those that are following you or that you're following so if you go to my photo right here you can see I have 39 comments but all 39 of those comments are from people that are actually following me or I'm following them and ever since I've changed the setting I've noticed how I have not had any spam comments no automated comments no great picture you know great photo things like that anymore which are really annoying and clearly fake so definitely go ahead and do this so all you want to do is go to your profile go to the three dots right here go to settings privacy comments and then you can see right there allow comments from go ahead and tap on that and just go ahead and do either your follows or people you follow so I must have changed this around while I was preparing for this video but I want to go ahead and set it to people you follow and your followers by default it is set to everyone you should definitely go ahead and change that setting here inside of Instagram and you may see some other settings in here that you'll want to change as well now the next tip is how to add a line break to a photo so if I go to this photo right here take a look at the caption you'll notice in the caption I have a line break between there where I said taken by iPhone 10s Max and my original caption so I'm going to show you how to do that all it is is just a bunch of invisible characters so just go here to this photo right here and we're gonna add a line break and put something below where I said which iPhone 11 would you choose so we're gonna click on these three dots go to edit and I'm gonna go down one line right here I'm gonna paste this invisible text right here which I will have down in the description below for you to just copy once you have that put in right there just go and click on return once again oh good one more line and I could just put in some random numbers or letters right there tap on done and then you will see in my caption I have a nice little line break right there this can be very useful if you want to make like a really long caption you want to break it up into pieces so it's not really hard to read this is a great way to do that now I talked about stories earlier and there's actually another really good tip for story so a lot of times people have put a lot of text on the screen or you just want to see something for longer than the time you'll see the time of running out and then you may have to just go back you keep watching it again we could actually pause that by swiping down a little bit just very lightly pull down and the photo or video will stay paused and that spot as long as you need it to be so for instance if I wasn't able to read this text right here because I'm too busy looking at beautiful Yosemite in the distance I could just pull down real quick or just touch and hold anywhere and you can see there it pauses the video and I could just sit there and read and look at whatever I want for as long as I want so again super beneficial for if somebody has something really long on their story that you want to read or if you just want to pause anything at any time and somebody's story now speaking of stories if we go over to our story right here take a random picture I'm going to show you how to get a solid color background so you have to do is go up here to these little squiggly lines right here choose a color I'll choose blue and then tap and hold on the surface you can see it turns the entire background blue just like so and you could just ride over it or you can use the eraser to kind of do like a reveal of something and actually if we go all the way back I'll show you how to get a transparent background as well so all we're gonna do is tap on the third marker right there instead of the first one then tap blue again tap and hold and you'll see it is more transparent you can't really tell here because of a flat surface but it will be a transparent background instead of just a full-on color so this can make for some really fun stories if you wanted to do like a reveal we just wanted to have some text in there and look real fancy that is a nice and easy way to do so now another cool story hack is how to get multiple photos inside of one story slide so basically if you go ahead and tap and add this photo right here and then we go over to our photos and we want to add so we wanted to add this thermometer right there all we do is go to share and then we're going to go down and copy photo and then we're gonna go right back to Instagram like so and you can see right there it pops up add sticker go ahead tap that and it adds it right in here just like so and that works with any photo and it actually works really well it's great for making collages or just adding a photo on top of another it can look really good here inside of Instagram stories now another little trick I'll show you right here is how to get glowing emoji so all you want to do is go ahead and tap on your emoji we'll just do this one right here and then we're just gonna go ahead and go to neon right here and you'll see the background is like a cool little glow effect on it right there you can actually change that glow color too you wanted to be like red or like purple you can see right there it changes the glow in the background I know a lot of people see that done that a couple times and people have asked me how I'd do it so that is how you get a glowing little emoji there you can see there with the black background it looks a little bit better but anyways moving on to the next tip if we go out of our stories here and go back over to our account right here tap the three dots tap on settings and if you go to account right here and posts you've liked it actually shows all of the posts you've ever liked here on Instagram this is a really really awesome feature that's kind of hidden inside of your settings but this is great if you liked something a while back on Instagram and you kind of forgot you know who posted it or you can't find any more because that person posts a lot on their account you can go back to all the likes that you've actually liked on Instagram where all the posts you've liked on Instagram I should say and be able to find that specific post it's kind of like a great way to bookmark posts on Instagram I use it a lot it's a really great way to see every single post you've liked here on Instagram it could also be used against you if you do have a significant other so just be aware of that now something else that a lot of people don't know about inside of Instagram is archiving so you can archive your stories and your post so this is great for going back and seeing you know what you posted a while back or being able to remove Instagram posts like actual published posts from your account without fully deleting them so all you have to do is go to these three dots right here and then you will see archive right there and this actually shows all of your archived you know right here it's set to default on your story so that shows all of my stories right here from my archive and if I go tap on this right here you can go ahead and alternate between stories and posts if I go to posts right here that shows some posts that I didn't fully delete but they are you know fill my account they're just hidden from my profile but if we go back to stories you can actually go back and fully watch every single story that you posted you can also see the amount of people that watch that you can't actually see the list of people that watched it unfortunately but you can see the amount of people that saw your story you also have things like you could highlight it later as well if maybe you wanted to highlight something but you weren't there you know you didn't make it within 24 hours you can go back to your archives and you can go ahead and highlight it and add it to your highlights which by the way take advantage of highlights if you haven't already you can see right here I have some highlights basically just highlighting some trips I did and things like that to do that I have to do is tap on this little new highlight right here you can go ahead and add stories and you can name them and things like that so really beneficial as well adds a lot to your profile tells a lot of people about you and the type of stuff you do as well so and then the final tip I wanted to show you guys is how to hide your activity status so if you guys didn't know if you go to your messages when somebody's online you will see a little green you know bubble that shows they're online if they're offline it shows how long they've been offline like the last time they were on the Instagram app now if you want to hide that you can do that inside of settings so if we go to these three dots right here settings privacy activity status you can go ahead and toggle that off right there within settings and that's a good thing to keep off if you don't want people knowing when you're on and off of Instagram which most people probably don't really want other people to know when they're on or off and what they're ignoring them or you know they just don't want people in doing that type of information so there you have it guys those are like 15 16 I went a little bit over 14 but those are some good tips for you guys for your Instagram stories and
