Razer Edge and Razer Edge Pro: Gaming Tablets with Power

Hey guys, this is Austin, reporting live from CES 2013 with your brand new Razer Edge and Razer Edge Pro. These are really interesting, as they're gaming tablets that have pretty much everything you would expect in a full gaming laptop inside a tablet. There are lots of cool accessories and all kinds of cool stuff, so let's take a look.

The Edge is powered by a core i5, while the Edge Pro is powered by a core i7. These are full laptop chips, not desktops, but they're full laptop chips that will give you plenty of power to play all the games you want. You can play Steam games, Origin Games, and pretty much anything else you can do on your normal gaming computer. It'll work just as well on the Edge or The Edge Pro.

As for the specs, the Edge has anywhere between 6 and 8 GB of RAM on board, and it's also powered by the GT 640m Graphics. These are dedicated graphics that will give you some decent power, although they're not going to rival your full gaming computer. They'll be plenty for on-the-go gaming, especially considering the tablet's relatively small display - it's 768 or 1366 x 768, which is basically 720, and you can also output it via HDMI.

The Edge also has some very cool accessories. For starters, there's a game pad that clips around your wrist and gives you physical controls. This might seem like a gimmick, but touchscreen gaming isn't quite as great as playing on a console or PC. The game pad kind of mirrors what you would find on an Xbox or PlayStation controller on the Edge, and when you're not using it, it's just a little bit bulky.

Of course, you can take it off and put it away without any problem. There are also a couple of docks available - a keyboard dock that lets you use the tablet as a normal laptop, minus the trackpad (although the touchscreen is still usable). The Edge starts at $999, while The Edge Pro is $1,299. Of course, all the accessories are extra, and they range anywhere between $99 and $250.

Considering what you get, these tablets might seem a bit pricey. But basically, you're getting a full gaming laptop that just happens to be in tablet form - which is pretty cool stuff, if you ask me. So, if you enjoyed this video, be sure to leave it a thumbs up and subscribe for more CES 2013 content. I'll catch you next time!
