The First Adventure With My Woodie FAILED - 1951 Ford Country Squire New Project!

The Opened Wire Oh Wow: A Journey to Restore a Classic Car

As I stood before the old car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. The engine was still in great shape, with no major issues to speak of, but the wiring system was a mess. It was like a puzzle waiting to be solved, with wires dangling everywhere, and a complete wire job all the way from front to back was needed. I thought to myself, "This is going to be a challenge."

I took a closer look at the wiring system and realized that it wasn't just a matter of piecemeal repairs. The harnesses under the dash were in great condition, and a full harness could be purchased from Shoe Box Central, which was a game-changer. I estimated that the wiring alone would cost around $1,000, plus labor, which would add another few hundred dollars to the bill.

The 12-volt conversion was another project that needed attention. The kit was available for purchase, and the labor to complete it would likely be around $50. I knew that resealing all the seals would be a necessity, including the fuel leak, tail shaft seal, pinion seal, and leather seats. The total cost for these repairs was estimated to be in the range of $2,000.

As I took a closer look at the car's components, I realized that it needed some TLC. The steering gearbox required new seals, and the oil bath filter would need to be replaced. Checking all the brakes and drums would also be necessary, which would add another $250-300 to the bill.

The total estimated cost for the repairs was still in the range of 3 to 10 grand, depending on the extent of the work needed. I had bought the car at a relatively low price, around $30 grand, and with some careful planning, I knew that I could get it back on the road without breaking the bank.

As I looked at the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement about the possibilities. With some vintage hot rod parts, I could give the Ford flathead engine a new lease on life. The thought of bringing this classic car back to its former glory was exhilarating, and I knew that it would be a fun project to work on.

The Renaissance Throne Chair: A $54,000 Find

As I took a break from working on the car, I noticed something odd in the corner of the room. It was an Italian Renaissance throne chair made of walnut, and it seemed out of place among the tools and parts. I couldn't resist taking a closer look, and as I did, I realized that it had some history behind it.

The throne chair was valued at $54,000, which was staggering. I asked the owner about its origins, and they revealed that it was from the Renaissance era. It seemed like a piece of art, and I couldn't believe that it had ended up in this garage.

I knew that I couldn't possibly afford to buy the throne chair, but I also didn't want to pass it up without trying. The owner mentioned that there were online sites where you could purchase parts made from genuine Renaissance-era materials, which was fascinating. I knew that this would be a great find for my project car.

The Shoe Box Central: A Treasure Trove of Vintage Parts

As I continued working on the car, I discovered that the owner had purchased many parts from Shoe Box Central, a company that specialized in vintage hot rod parts. I was amazed at the variety of items available, and I knew that this would be a great resource for my project.

From leather seats to steering gearboxes, Shoe Box Central offered everything I needed to bring my car back to life. The owner had sourced many parts from their online catalog, and I could see why they were so well-respected in the community. I made a mental note to visit the Shoe Box Central website and explore their offerings.

The Labor of Love: Bringing the Car Back to Life

As I worked on the car, I realized that it wasn't just about repairing the parts, but also bringing the entire vehicle back to life. The engine ran beautifully, with no major issues to speak of, but it still needed some TLC. The labor involved in resealing all the seals, replacing the oil bath filter, and checking all the brakes and drums was extensive.

I knew that I would need to spend several hours on the job site to get everything just right. But as I worked on the car, I felt a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that came with bringing something back to life. It was a labor of love, and I was happy to put in the time and effort required to make it happen.

The Car: A Woody Wizard

As I finally finished working on the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. The woody wizard had been transformed from a clunker into a beautiful, running machine. The 12-volt conversion was complete, the wiring system was fixed, and all the seals were resealed.

I took one last look at the car before starting it up, and as I did, I felt a sense of excitement about what lay ahead. With some vintage hot rod parts, I could give this classic car even more character. The woody wizard had been reborn, and I knew that it would be a joy to drive for years to come.

As I walked away from the garage, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the journey. It had been a long road, but one that had led me to this beautiful, restored car. The open wire had been just the beginning of an incredible adventure, and I knew that this was just the start of something special.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome to who he's garage the dumbest automotive channel in all of YouTube and a few months back when I was selling my Ford Raptor I said that I wasn't a Ford guy and since I love to contradict myself and make myself look like a complete idiot I've since bought a Ford Excursion a Ford Mustang a Lincoln Mark eight and now this a 1951 Ford Country Squire Woodie I swear I'm not a Ford guy there's just exceptions to the rules I happen to buy four exceptions and I'm really excited to unveil this because this is a full-out dream car for me I've never owned a real Woodie before it's all been fake wood that I have experienced so I am super excited this is a dream to own this car and it's also really special now I know a lot of you boomers are getting really excited right now an antique car on who these garage that's never happened before and the Millennials are like where's the Lambo stuff but stick with me this car is really special and I've got some pretty cool stuff planned for this old woody so just for a little historical perspective wood was primarily used in the construction of cars early on from the birth of the vehicle over a hundred years ago up until well around the 1930s and in the 1930s wood became more of a decorative item than an actual structural item and that's what this really is it's decoration on this 1951 Ford Country Squire and this happens to be the last year Ford ever used wood real wood in the construction of their vehicles Buick kept going for another couple of years and then that was it for American cars using real wood from then on they used some kind of vinyl or sticker or whatever else this is the last of the real Woody's it's also the last of something else but we'll get to that in a bit now I'm so excited because I never thought I would actually own a real Woodie not only that a 51 for Country Squire which is a really special car and I remember these being way more expensive than what I paid for this thing nice driver like this used to be a $50,000 plus car and the perfectly restored ones were easily into the six figures and that's just because this Woodie appeals to so many people hot rodders guys into the California beach scene back in the day with the Beach Boys and everything else and just Ford guys it hit so many boxes with so many different people that it was a very desirable car and I was able to buy this thing just because of the situation we're in and I think this older population as they kind of kind of die out there's less people wanting to buy these antique vehicles and I'll explain how I got a great deal on this woody as I give you a tour of of my my woody so I bought this country squire from a restoration shop in Minnesota and they had plans to chop this thing up hotrod at making it into some resto mod creation but when all the stuff went down last month they decided well there's no collector car auctions to sell things that's the market we don't know what is going to do and this is already a nice car that runs and drives so we should probably sell it rather than hack it up to business and thank goodness they did he told me he bought it out of a museum it was in a collection and really hadn't been driven for decades and he sold it to me for only $30,000 $30,000 for a very nicely restored although an older restoration driver woody and I was absolutely floored this thing is beautiful just look at it this is the factory paint they may have thrown a little bit of extra metallic in it to jazz it up a little bit but it's the factory color and then here is the real wood and it is original I'm sure it's been revarnished once or twice at some point but it just looks great and look at that metal Country Squire badge the wood is just incredible a 1951 is a special year for a lot of reasons other than being the last woody it's also a metal frame door back a few years before this the doors would have been all wood in there construction or mostly wood and they weren't as rigid I'm not sure safety is much of a concern here but it does make it less less rattling and the wood continues this is all real wood apart in the mess I'm having your conditioning installed in the garage that's why there's this here and a bunch of holes up in the ceiling because I'm a delicate little flower and I need air conditioning but we're back here to the quirkiest parts of the woody if Doug were here he would freak out so let me show you in the back oh I'm gonna put this tailgate down and pay attention to what the taillights do they fold with the tailgate so when you drive with the tailgate down when you're hauling things because this is a hauler work vehicle for a lot of people the taillights are still visible along with the license plate how cool is that and back here we have tires and the reason I have tires is because these tires well they're 3040 years old and they're dry rotting splitting and it feels like they're shaped like squares because they have been sitting for decades now I drove this thing a little bit just around my neighborhood I haven't taken out on public roads yet it's been a little scare too but today we're going to drive it to Johnny the car ninjas first to put those tires on and then try to drive it the 30 miles up to the car wizard you know probably hasn't been on public roads probably in well maybe thirty years it's been in a museum and then stashed away and a restorers garage but despite all this sinning this car runs beautiful just look at the beautiful interior in my woody and it's not all real wood the door panels or real wood but this this is a faux I believe it's painted on so there's some fake wood despite all the real wood in here and you can see why this thing was so popular with surfers because you could haul your surfboards in this thing and lock up the car or just a bunch of people you could live in this thing on the beach and some of them had third row seating this one does not but two very comfortable benches apparently we're going 90 miles an hour standing still though look at this beautiful art deco stuff the radio and the clock the heater now here's what blew my mind when this thing first showed up even though it's been sitting for decades basically unused it cracks right over and there's a push-button start on this thing you turn the key and then you hit the push-button start right here right on the first crack and even with Colt starts you pull out the choke starts on the first crack I've had a few vintage cars from the 40s and it's just absolutely fors me that this thing fires right up but there's a reason why it has a legendary engine under the hood the fork flathead let's take a look so under the hood is why this car appeals to hot rodders and fortitude is so much not only is it the final year of wood paneling it's one of the final years of the Ford flathead v8 and the flathead v8 revolutionized Ford and the common man because it put v8 power into everybody's hands and unveiled in the 1932 Ford and it was popular with everyone including gangsters for bootlegging because it was so fast we could hotrod these things at first a full revolution of car mods and hot rodding right here this engine in a wood-paneled station wagon so I'm going to be super excited to drive this thing once it's all sorted out but not right now I'm a little worried because we are going to drive it to get new tires that's just a couple miles away or if I'd be okay but then after that well we're gonna drive it all the way up to the car wizard putting it runs so well and it's a flathead Ford so let's see if it's as legendary as people say it is well he barely left the driveway and I can already tell we're gonna have a big problem here with the speedometer that is possessed by a demon especially when I go faster apparently we were going to warp seven that's probably gonna break something so maybe I should disconnect it actually there's nothing underneath to get in the way I can probably just reach up and and unscrew the speedometer cable just just right here from the seat just take a second that just screws right off pull it out there okay let's see that did it a little smooth move that gearbox okay that works we're just going 60 all the time okay now we'll hit the Johnnies alright pulling out on the road the grind at this time there we kill nice and smooth a three on the tree never seen one before that's what this is three speed dampers on the tree in an age pattern their second far so good and she's shaken no idea how fast I'm going feels like 100 probably 20 headed up there's no seatbelts with this thing I feel like I'm naked in the car for that without wearing a seatbelt I sell lineal I am well that's cruising and I thought honestly it'd be more ratalie than this the rear hatch needs some rotor to it so it's rattling around the seal that's almost non-existent don't you bid okay I'm gonna stop red lights stop it okay all right first smile car ninja it is a German not yeah 1951 Ford Country Squire it has no van house no ECU's thank God just a v8 and some really really really old tires why is it here can you just put tires on it for me so I journey gets to the car wizard oh yeah you're probably wondering how a car runs without a computer in it right yeah for thee mods honey I'm right there it's magic so don't want to cheat on the Whizzer too much but just a quick peek a lot of the original undercoating on this thing thank you you see those Jonny uh-huh those are called leaf springs it's a very popular thing for trucks and non German vehicles true so sitrep this wheel looks like it was recovered from the Titanic yeah and we can't get it to slide up on to the bead with the new tire these are steel wheels by the way they're not these are al have you seen steel wheels before ah yeah so uh I'm gonna have to get new wheels but there's no way we're getting the old tire back on or this new tire on the old wheel so we pulled off the spare and the spare well it's a good year but I think it's good year was back in 1957 and it holds there probably shouldn't drive on it though I wouldn't so my 30 mile drive just into two miles in probably what we'll do is we'll mount this back on throw everything else in the back and then flatbed this up to the Wizards while I order some wheels it's great start this is a typical hoopty beginning except it's just 50 years older than anything else I've ever owned well let's try it again shall we modern Ford the excursion it's going to do its maiden tow of the country squire up to wizards and then we'll see what the wizard has to say about the hooptie I've also ordered new wheels for it they're available online for like $90 each so not that bad his video has turned into a towing review of the Ford Excursion its first - it's excellent I don't know why it wouldn't be excellent this thing weighs about 20,000 pounds so just another 5 pounds behind its not gonna make any difference at all the wizard thinks of this thing I brought him a vintage car before I know he likes something but I don't feel like working wizard you strap this thing down I sure did it's still that way when you arrived I'm surprised it didn't roll off No thank you for the vote of confidence yes a 1951 Ford Country Squire you like my witty wizard I do can I touch the woody ok sure you're going against the grain there lizard check this out every time just cracks right over that's back when cars were built like a tank amazing three on the tree back we go do we put the ramps down yeah we did okay don't hit a tractor I made it about three miles then we tried to put new tires on it and the tires wouldn't man on the rusty wheels no power steering which that's fine two hands it's not that bad I can't believe how good this thing that beautiful is pretty I also see a beautiful few weeks right off the bat huh yeah on the single carburetor and you got a big little pumpkin on here because it's an oil bath filter right yes there's a little bit of oil in the bottom the air actually goes through the oil and filters the dirt out can we see it sure freaked out my standard size four inches on this one no metrics so instead of a paper filter just sits in a puddle of goo goo should be engine oil I don't know why they have transmission fluid but like 30 weight oil huh this will get dirty and brown and black because the the dirt gets trapped into the fluid but the air comes in clean it's the most cleanest air filter you could have so better than a paper airfield yeah and it doesn't leak cuz it's in the bowl so that's a fuel leak down there off the carburetor yeah Jessamyn screws or whatever yeah it just looks like this little gas or little seals they're leaking as all that is okay well I get a beautiful engine very simple huh yeah these are awesome oh it's got the old cloth wiring look at it yes oh that's not good oh my goodness yeah that's really cracking up isn't it that's gonna have to be converted over it's a fire hazard especially right next to a fuel filter probably yeah still on the six volt system so maybe while we do the rewire we update to the 12-volt as well just make it easier to jump off and start I can put them regular radio in it or I don't have to do all your bulbs and everything it's real pretty in here but now this works the clock doesn't work I don't care about that the radio doesn't work the fuel level doesn't work pretty much the only that speedo stuck at 60 the only thing it really does work on this thing is the ant meter and the the engine temperature but none of the wipers the heater nothing no yeah look at all this cloth wiring a lot of its cloth is disintegrating it just crumbles in my hand no wonder none of this stuff works oh man probably a fire hazard yeah they are actually there's a lot of kindling on this car so yeah burn the wood definitely need to get the wiring situation sorted out on this it's too nice of a vehicle to let it burn to the ground so I kind of had a quick peek over at Johnny's when we were trying to mount the tire but you want to do a full look underneath my woody here and yeah check it out perfect not so shiny under here no but this is a lot of the original undercoating here oh yeah I can see that preserve the car it really isn't they've tried to hook it onto here for something tow it out of mud or who knows what yeah but the engines been out and probably rebuilt because they painted the whole thing brown metallic yes it's very shiny metal flake almost very 1979 paint color choices right yeah this little drain plug seal here is leaking and also your steering gear is leaking here's your little three-speed transmission don't need this only this big really that is tiny it is leaking as well it looks like it's leaking right here on this gasket miss flange gasket on the tail shaft drive shaft it's not very beefy though no it's kind of a little dinky transmission oh yeah opinion seals leaking there which is probably leather back then really yeah letme leather seal in there there's some more of your cloth wiring that's bare opened wire oh wow yeah goes to my tail lights yeah it definitely needs a complete wire job all the way front to back let's look over here oh my goodness a mess that's probably why my turn signals or bare wire yeah I don't see a whole lot huge wrong with it though no nothing serious it's just old car stuff been sitting for decades just needs freshened up and ready for the road what do you think I think it's awesome oh so you're excited to work on it well you can tell through its life it's been taken care of it's not a pile of crap it's not some restoration project it just needs a few things fixed it's but I already been restored that's one thing I don't do here's restoration so that's not what we're having to do here so I'm totally happy to do it yes plus you have a new slave over there right yeah uh-huh perfect alright well you want to work up an estimate let's go try see what we can do I can't I have no idea what to expect this one it is beautiful Renaissance throne chair made walnut walnut how much is that Oh 54 grand $54,000 yeah it was actually from the Renaissance era oh yeah totally is there's no way that's Woody's gonna fund you a throne oh I want something that's nice and handmade wood as well so we can do some trading maybe all right I'm not buying you a $54,000 Italian Renaissance throne with this car there's no what everything I was seeing here is gonna go a long way towards it okay pretty much everything on there you know obviously not gonna go to your Park store and get stuff for that no I don't have an avenue I mean there's there's online sites with sales stuff for this and that's where I've been getting a lot of my prime yes but basically everything still made there's a shoebox central which is what they call them the shoeboxes they're all the parts are still on there it's amazing the parts availability on these it's great so okay so the wiring just to piecemeal all the wires together and there are full harnesses like under the dash from shoe box central in fact it's probably gonna be a grand just for the wiring that doesn't include going through pulling it all out and all the labor involved so me quite a quite a number of hours so $1,000 plus plus this okay just whatever it takes okay pretty much goodness all right the 12-volt conversion that had has everything in a kit to convert it over a 12-volt was 800 bucks uh-huh and then there's the labor to do that as well okay car bleep it's probably 50 bucks just to pull it there's several things I'll probably just go through and reseal mm-hmm and it doesn't need rebuild when it runs great runs beautifully yes yes just needs to reseals stop the fuel leak so bigger legs underneath yes yeah the trans tail shaft reseal I'll just pull the tail shaft off we reseal the flange and also put a new output shaft seal on it okay two to three hundred bucks the pinion seal 100 bucks gonna do leather again yeah okay that's going in the video blue changes we've got gear oil in the differential and transmission engine oil antifreeze brake fluid and also the oil bath filter hmm right around five hundred bucks on the steering gearbox they used to puts a heavy oil in there it's short of we pulling it off we're rebuilding it with all-new seals you can just fill it with grease actual wheel grease okay lubricates in there but it doesn't drip out and fall out nice this typical thing there check all the brakes and drums 250-300 to pull them all off that there's some minor things to do but if there's anything broken or if it needs more work than that it'll go up from there hmm okay was that all that's pretty much everything we talked about okay so what's the total you don't know who knows I could probably give you a range okay what's the range 3 to 10 grand 10 grand there's no ways gonna be 10 degree okay well I got it really cheap it was only 30 grand usually they're selling for 40 before all this stuff happened it was probably a fifty plus thousand dollar car all sorted so I bought it really well I think with the repairs I'm gonna be just fine well so you can have at it tear into it well order some parts yeah I may want to do a little more though there's some vintage hot rod stuff you can do with the Ford flathead yeah I think I think I got to do it I think it'll be fun so you I stay tuned hopefully you like my new woody wizard sure does thank you for watchingwelcome to who he's garage the dumbest automotive channel in all of YouTube and a few months back when I was selling my Ford Raptor I said that I wasn't a Ford guy and since I love to contradict myself and make myself look like a complete thing thank you you see those Jonny uh-huh those are called leaf springs it's a very popular thing for trucks and non German vehicles true so sitrep this wheel looks like it was recovered from the Titanic yeah and we can't get it to slide up on to the bead with the new tire these are steel wheels by the way they're not these are al have you seen steel wheels before ah yeah so uh I'm gonna have to get new wheels but there's no way we're getting the old tire back on or this new tire on the old wheel so we pulled off the spare and the spare well it's a good year but I think it's good year was back in 1957 and it holds there probably shouldn't drive on it though I wouldn't so my 30 mile drive just into two miles in probably what we'll do is we'll mount this back on throw everything else in the back and then flatbed this up to the Wizards while I order some wheels it's great start this is a typical hoopty beginning except it's just 50 years older than anything else I've ever owned well let's try it again shall we modern Ford the excursion it's going to do its maiden tow of the country squire up to wizards and then we'll see what the wizard has to say about the hooptie I've also ordered new wheels for it they're available online for like $90 each so not that bad his video has turned into a towing review of the Ford Excursion its first - it's excellent I don't know why it wouldn't be excellent this thing weighs about 20,000 pounds so just another 5 pounds behind its not gonna make any difference at all the wizard thinks of this thing I brought him a vintage car before I know he likes something but I don't feel like working wizard you strap this thing down I sure did it's still that way when you arrived I'm surprised it didn't roll off No thank you for the vote of confidence yes a 1951 Ford Country Squire you like my witty wizard I do can I touch the woody ok sure you're going against the grain there lizard check this out every time just cracks right over that's back when cars were built like a tank amazing three on the tree back we go do we put the ramps down yeah we did okay don't hit a tractor I made it about three miles then we tried to put new tires on it and the tires wouldn't man on the rusty wheels no power steering which that's fine two hands it's not that bad I can't believe how good this thing that beautiful is pretty I also see a beautiful few weeks right off the bat huh yeah on the single carburetor and you got a big little pumpkin on here because it's an oil bath filter right yes there's a little bit of oil in the bottom the air actually goes through the oil and filters the dirt out can we see it sure freaked out my standard size four inches on this one no metrics so instead of a paper filter just sits in a puddle of goo goo should be engine oil I don't know why they have transmission fluid but like 30 weight oil huh this will get dirty and brown and black because the the dirt gets trapped into the fluid but the air comes in clean it's the most cleanest air filter you could have so better than a paper airfield yeah and it doesn't leak cuz it's in the bowl so that's a fuel leak down there off the carburetor yeah Jessamyn screws or whatever yeah it just looks like this little gas or little seals they're leaking as all that is okay well I get a beautiful engine very simple huh yeah these are awesome oh it's got the old cloth wiring look at it yes oh that's not good oh my goodness yeah that's really cracking up isn't it that's gonna have to be converted over it's a fire hazard especially right next to a fuel filter probably yeah still on the six volt system so maybe while we do the rewire we update to the 12-volt as well just make it easier to jump off and start I can put them regular radio in it or I don't have to do all your bulbs and everything it's real pretty in here but now this works the clock doesn't work I don't care about that the radio doesn't work the fuel level doesn't work pretty much the only that speedo stuck at 60 the only thing it really does work on this thing is the ant meter and the the engine temperature but none of the wipers the heater nothing no yeah look at all this cloth wiring a lot of its cloth is disintegrating it just crumbles in my hand no wonder none of this stuff works oh man probably a fire hazard yeah they are actually there's a lot of kindling on this car so yeah burn the wood definitely need to get the wiring situation sorted out on this it's too nice of a vehicle to let it burn to the ground so I kind of had a quick peek over at Johnny's when we were trying to mount the tire but you want to do a full look underneath my woody here and yeah check it out perfect not so shiny under here no but this is a lot of the original undercoating here oh yeah I can see that preserve the car it really isn't they've tried to hook it onto here for something tow it out of mud or who knows what yeah but the engines been out and probably rebuilt because they painted the whole thing brown metallic yes it's very shiny metal flake almost very 1979 paint color choices right yeah this little drain plug seal here is leaking and also your steering gear is leaking here's your little three-speed transmission don't need this only this big really that is tiny it is leaking as well it looks like it's leaking right here on this gasket miss flange gasket on the tail shaft drive shaft it's not very beefy though no it's kind of a little dinky transmission oh yeah opinion seals leaking there which is probably leather back then really yeah letme leather seal in there there's some more of your cloth wiring that's bare opened wire oh wow yeah goes to my tail lights yeah it definitely needs a complete wire job all the way front to back let's look over here oh my goodness a mess that's probably why my turn signals or bare wire yeah I don't see a whole lot huge wrong with it though no nothing serious it's just old car stuff been sitting for decades just needs freshened up and ready for the road what do you think I think it's awesome oh so you're excited to work on it well you can tell through its life it's been taken care of it's not a pile of crap it's not some restoration project it just needs a few things fixed it's but I already been restored that's one thing I don't do here's restoration so that's not what we're having to do here so I'm totally happy to do it yes plus you have a new slave over there right yeah uh-huh perfect alright well you want to work up an estimate let's go try see what we can do I can't I have no idea what to expect this one it is beautiful Renaissance throne chair made walnut walnut how much is that Oh 54 grand $54,000 yeah it was actually from the Renaissance era oh yeah totally is there's no way that's Woody's gonna fund you a throne oh I want something that's nice and handmade wood as well so we can do some trading maybe all right I'm not buying you a $54,000 Italian Renaissance throne with this car there's no what everything I was seeing here is gonna go a long way towards it okay pretty much everything on there you know obviously not gonna go to your Park store and get stuff for that no I don't have an avenue I mean there's there's online sites with sales stuff for this and that's where I've been getting a lot of my prime yes but basically everything still made there's a shoebox central which is what they call them the shoeboxes they're all the parts are still on there it's amazing the parts availability on these it's great so okay so the wiring just to piecemeal all the wires together and there are full harnesses like under the dash from shoe box central in fact it's probably gonna be a grand just for the wiring that doesn't include going through pulling it all out and all the labor involved so me quite a quite a number of hours so $1,000 plus plus this okay just whatever it takes okay pretty much goodness all right the 12-volt conversion that had has everything in a kit to convert it over a 12-volt was 800 bucks uh-huh and then there's the labor to do that as well okay car bleep it's probably 50 bucks just to pull it there's several things I'll probably just go through and reseal mm-hmm and it doesn't need rebuild when it runs great runs beautifully yes yes just needs to reseals stop the fuel leak so bigger legs underneath yes yeah the trans tail shaft reseal I'll just pull the tail shaft off we reseal the flange and also put a new output shaft seal on it okay two to three hundred bucks the pinion seal 100 bucks gonna do leather again yeah okay that's going in the video blue changes we've got gear oil in the differential and transmission engine oil antifreeze brake fluid and also the oil bath filter hmm right around five hundred bucks on the steering gearbox they used to puts a heavy oil in there it's short of we pulling it off we're rebuilding it with all-new seals you can just fill it with grease actual wheel grease okay lubricates in there but it doesn't drip out and fall out nice this typical thing there check all the brakes and drums 250-300 to pull them all off that there's some minor things to do but if there's anything broken or if it needs more work than that it'll go up from there hmm okay was that all that's pretty much everything we talked about okay so what's the total you don't know who knows I could probably give you a range okay what's the range 3 to 10 grand 10 grand there's no ways gonna be 10 degree okay well I got it really cheap it was only 30 grand usually they're selling for 40 before all this stuff happened it was probably a fifty plus thousand dollar car all sorted so I bought it really well I think with the repairs I'm gonna be just fine well so you can have at it tear into it well order some parts yeah I may want to do a little more though there's some vintage hot rod stuff you can do with the Ford flathead yeah I think I think I got to do it I think it'll be fun so you I stay tuned hopefully you like my new woody wizard sure does thank you for watching\n"
