iOS 17.1 - Resolution! - Features, Heat and Follow Up

Lately, I've been experiencing some issues with my iPhone 15 Pro's battery life and overall performance. Yesterday, I noticed that my screen active time was significantly higher than usual, but when I looked at the detailed stats, it showed that Safari was using 25% of my battery for a minute on the screen, which didn't seem right to me. This led me to wonder if there's an issue with the battery messaging or stats on my device.

I've also been experiencing some problems with overheating issues, particularly during calls. I've found that even when I'm not using my phone, it can still be hot due to a feature called standby mode, which allows the display to remain on all the time. While this hasn't caused any major issues for me, I think it's worth noting that some users may experience problems with burn-in or ghosting.

I've been thinking about whether or not I should update to iOS 17.1 beta 2, but so far, I'm holding off due to concerns about the stability of the feature. However, I would definitely recommend updating to iOS 17.0.2, as it has security updates and fixes for some of the heating and performance issues that people were experiencing.

I recently caught up with some friends who are also using the iPhone 15 Pro, and they've reported similar issues with battery life and overheating. Radical Audio Design mentioned that their phone runs better and has better battery life overall, but is still prone to overheating during heavy use. Carlos Kiros Media said that updating to iOS 17.0.2 fixed their overheating issue and improved the performance of their phone. AJ 56 noted that they've seen a boost in battery life since switching to iOS 17.0.2.

However, not everyone has had a positive experience with the latest update. M Robert 19897 reported that their iPhone 15 Pro Max's battery life has taken a hit despite being at the same 90% health for months. They also mentioned that scrolling in Notes is very rough and barely usable. Daniel LOM said they've been using iOS 17.0.3 on their iPhone 14 Pro Max, and they no longer experience overheating issues.

Other users have reported similar issues or fixes for overheating problems. Inc SE mentioned that the notification and ping from apps are correct, but the output volume from Apple music or other apps is lower compared to iOS 17.0.2. Arc Warden said that updating to iOS 17.0.3 solved their overheating issue, which was experiencing severe heating during calls.

The latest update has also been tested by some users in public beta. I'm looking forward to the next beta and hoping that it will include some more features or bug fixes. One feature I've noticed is missing is a journal app, and I've also had an issue where my phone doesn't set the alarm off in the morning when I have it set for a sleep alarm.

I'd love to hear from you if you're experiencing any other issues or have found any other features that were missing. If you haven't subscribed already, please do so as this is Aaron's channel and I'll be sharing more content like this in the future.
