**The Journey to Long Beach: Preparing for Formula Drift**

We're getting closer to the 2018 Formula Drift season, and I'm excited to share with you our progress on preparing my car for the competition. Our team decided to tackle all the body panels first, despite not having an engine in place yet. It's a crucial step towards getting the car ready for the season.

Working with Ornamental Conifer and Year One, the design team did an outstanding job of creating a clean scheme that ties both cars together. The color blocking and different lines make the car stand out without just looking like it was painted a certain color. We're always adding new ideas to the car until the day before Long Beach, where we fine-tune everything.

One of the unique aspects of our design is the drift form, which will be revealed soon. I'm thrilled with how far we've come and grateful for the team's hard work. Now that we have a solid foundation, it's time to focus on the mechanical aspect of the car.

To get us started, we decided to do all the mechanical and fabrication work before installing the engine. This is an unusual approach, but I'm excited to see how everything comes together. By getting this done first, we'll be able to fine-tune our performance and make adjustments as needed.

The body panels are looking great, and I'm loving the way they're coming along. Our team has been working tirelessly to ensure that every detail is perfect, from the paint job to the interior design. It's a true labor of love, and I'm honored to be a part of it.

As we continue to prepare for Long Beach, I want to take a moment to appreciate our team's dedication and expertise. From the designers to the fabricators, everyone has been working together seamlessly to create something truly special. We're all excited to see how everything comes together on the track.

In the meantime, I'm eager to share some updates from my recent road trip. I drove my truck from New Hampshire to California, covering over 4,000 miles and making it through many drift events across the country. The gum out all-in-one diesel fuel system cleaner has been a game-changer for me, helping to prevent gelling and improve fuel efficiency.

As we head into the Formula Drift season, I'm feeling confident about our chances of success. We've got a great team behind us, and our car is looking stronger than ever. With Advance Auto Parts' support, we're ready to take on the competition and make some waves at Spring Mountain.

The first event of the season has already been exciting, with plenty of action on track. I made some impressive passes and held my lead until the very end, but unfortunately, that was the highlight of an otherwise bittersweet weekend. Lessons learned, though – don't follow too closely on the first lap!
