Grilled Salmon with Sugar Maple Garlic Sauce and Roasted Potatoes
Today we're going to do a grilled salmon with sugar maple garlic sauce and roasted potatoes. That looks good all right, it's real easy to do just get yourself a salmon fillet here this got the skin on that's about 3/4 lb and then add some uh maple syrup, got some soy sauce, we got some olive oil, we got some butter, got some garlic, got an onion. All right so let's uh let's get this sugar maple garlic sauce going here.
So I got a black pan here and a little bit of olive oil, and a sauté and up here some uh minced garlic maybe four or five clove and a little bit of onion. And I like to throw a little pad of butter in there sweeten it up nice. Now you just want to lightly sauté these up all right now I'd like to add about a/4 cup of soy sauce and uh you can adjust the quantities to the way you like them here but this kind of works really well, and then I'm going to add about maybe a/ thir of cup maybe a little more or less of uh maple syrup. You want to simmer that up for a couple of minutes blending in flavors all right, that's ready to go.
So we'll take it off the grill now uh to keep that salmon as moist as uh possible and that's not an easy thing to do is uh as you know if you regularly make up salmon on the grill dries out real easy. So what I do is use a black pan and I sear the uh skin side down uh makes a nice flavor for the salmon and uh it helps retain some of the moisture here, so uh got that black pan nice and hot here. I'm going to throw a little more olive oil on it and uh put these salmon fillets the skin side down here, I want to sear this for maybe a minute maybe uh maybe two minutes that's all.
Now you don't need to use this method but this is the way I like to do my sand all right. So we've seared the uh skin side and for a minute or two here and uh we're going to take it off the black pan here and put it Opposite the coals, then I got some of these uh potato wedges here they're pre-done and because we're essentially just going to heat them up here all right now. I'm going to grab a little bit more of that sauce here and base them man, it's starting to smell real good.
All right now because those uh roasted potatoes were over the fire they're uh they're just about ready to go so we'll pull them up off now look at this uh look how tender and moist this uh salmon fillet is. It's only taking about 15 minutes it's about 350° uh Grill here, it's time to Plate it up man getting hungry or what all right now we're going to take this uh sugar maple garlic sauce here and pour it all over this salmon fet. I'm going to add these barbecue roasted potatoes to the plate man you can never get enough of those. Man can you smell that it smells good now, I want to apologize right now for eating in front of you like this and I'm going to try some of this moist and tender grilled salmon M.
