build stream where I'm going to be putting together a system using all the hardware in front of me that you see here and uh the reason we're doing it or I'm doing it is to raise money for a charitable cause the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles needs your support because you know Children's Hospitals especially in like downtown LA and stuff don't really get all the support they need they're just kids guys they're just kids kids needs kids need to have fun too especially really sick ones so um we're going to be building in support of that cause I've set up an extra life donation page where you guys can donate there's a a panel a twitch panel just beneath this video player where you can uh donate it could be a dollar it could be 50 cents I really don't care um but every little bit helps uh however to spice things up as I'm building this system and putting it together for every $500 donated to the charity of course cumulatively it's not like one person has to donate 500 it's just cumulative in total uh for every $500 donated I will be forced to drink a shot of this heinous liquor uh this is Fireball uh it's been trending Lately from what I from what I've heard you can see I've already taken a small sample just to see what I'm up against tonight um but uh there you go I don't actually have any shot glasses many of you guys following me on Twitter probably saw that I was having trouble finding a shot glass in this area I went to a Target I I mapped out a Target turned out to be a Target Express I didn't even know Target expresses existed it's like all they sell is like socks and batteries so they didn't have any shot glasses there and then I went to a Walmart down the street and it was a Walmart neighborhood what the is a Walmart neighborhood sweet Jesus I I have no clue what's going on but I couldn't find a shot glass so I'll be drinking out of this this cup instead I'll be doing my best to eyeball 1 to 1.5 5 O for every shot um but uh forgive me if it's not completely exact I will do my best um you can also see in the bottom left corner of the stream there there's a a a little shot glass icon with a zero in it uh that's the shot counter so every time I take a shot that's that number is going to go up so people who are just joining uh or or if you just have a bad memory like me you can always know at any given point in the Stream how many shots I'm on AKA how plastered I am so uh the goal right now for the donation page I've set it to $3,000 I think that would be super awesome if we could hit that if we could exceed it that would be even better obviously uh but we're going for 3,000 so if if we do hit that goal I mean that's that's six shots for me and I'm I can I don't get hung over very easily but I am kind of a lightweight so I'd say by dicks so um here's the first product that we got here I I'll actually give you a a full frontal nudity shot initially boom so this is the uh the frifle design Define nano s sure a lot of you guys are familiar with this case it's Mini ITX this is going to be a small form factor build let me just check chat really quick okay no one's no one's screaming about audio or video quality so I think I'm in the clear uh so this is a small form factor Mini ITX buildt um it is probably one of my favorite small form factor uh chassis at the moment just because it's uh it doesn't really feel like one when you're building building in it I think that's kind of the point here uh it does have the modu vent cover here so if you wanted to tailor the build for silence you could leave that on or you could remove it for ample air flow there's a bunch of ventilation right underneath it you could you can install a freaking 240 mm uh radiator at the front which we will be doing today in fact with another fractal product that I'll get around to very nice uh large side panel window as well tons of good air flow with the fractal fans uh you've also got really high quality dust filters for your power supply and at the front uh for your intake and stuff so that's really nice to see also the res wall makes its return from the Define s it's basically a mini defin s in case you haven't gotten the hint so there's the the res Reser wal I like to call it the reservo it's it's fun to say uh but you can mount a water cooling Reservoir there really really just great little case um and obviously coming from as as a defined s user myself as uh as that's what what hotline's built in um I I am a huge fan of this chassis so thank you again fractal for providing that I look forward to the building in it and next up we've got next up let's let's let's do the video card let's just do this all out of order so I'm going to go ahead and flip still finding my bearings here with the uh camera angles and stuff boom overhead shot there we go so this is the video card we're using yes this is what makes it highend more or less is the GTX 1080 that we're fitting in here the gaming X mind you from MSI beautiful beautiful graphics card I actually did a review on this not too long ago and my review was was good it was positive uh too long didn't read it it's it's a good card it actually has really decent cooling um it's just a freaking beast on the uh on the benchmarks and stuff look at all the look at all the fancy branding got a love got all love retail boxes for computer hardware especially video cards and motherboards it's just densely packed with um but uh another cool thing that that makes this card pretty sweet is uh I mean it's a GTX 1080 guys so I mean what else do you want 8 gigs of gddr5x freaking ridiculously fast um direct X12 ready of course and uh and yeah it's got two 8 Pin PCI connectors is it two8 pin or is it 1 eight pin and one 16 pin oh it's 1 eight and 16 that's right uh so yeah that's been beefed up from the founders edition of course to provide better stability when over blocking and uh you know just just more more power power is always good got to love power Twin frozer 6 cooler is makes its debut on this card as well uh it's got the zero RPM feature so the fans don't spin up unless the the GPU gets hotter than 60° cus which is really great for silence silent operation when you're just idling and stuff not even when you're idling but you know if you're doing like low intense applications is silent as Hil got the core i5 6600k sure I don't got to talk much about this especially since Intel's not one of the sponsors freaking Intel you should have you should have given this to me for free next time next time though uh so overclockable Chip of course if we're going with a high-end build with something like a GTX 1080 you're going to want something that's overclockable on the CPU end as well it only makes sense and to cool that down we've got I keep holding it upside down because I think I I planned this way better than I thought I did like the webcam is already facing the right way uh this is the Kelvin s24 again from fractal design pretty great little cooler I shouldn't say it's little it's a 240 mm radiator um it does have an it's an expandable Loop so you can actually it's got G and a/ qu inch fittings you can uh refill the loop you can expand it if you wanted to add more radiators uh with with from the Kelvin line for example it's um it's also got a really Sleek just blackon black aesthetic which looks good in pretty much any case you put it in and I really do like the white fans kind of tying in with fractal theme um especially with like their ch like the the Nano s uh is is also a black and white themed black and white themed Hardware so uh again we've got another MSI component here this is the z170i gaming Pro AC and uh I really do love this motherboard especially if you're cool with like black and red cuz that's like the only thing that I could see as a caveat is like if you're trying to go for a different color scheme or something um the black and red is I personally like how it looks I actually use this board in uh in the the PC that I'm streaming with right now fancy that the the no 202 the go anywhere do anything PC yep it's got one of these in it one of these bad boys so this thing's pretty awesome uh you can see it's kind of got a pretty beefy vrm heat sink actually uh considering the small form factor so it does handle some overclocks pretty pretty well uh my 6700 K that's in the the the Nano I'm sorry the note 202 right now is overclocked to 4.5 I believe uh look at this m two slot on the back it's always nice to see as well this is pcie nvme Gen 3x4 holy smokes uh and it's got Wi-Fi they don't they don't call it the the gaming Pro AC for nothing uh as far as the rear IO and stuff you've got plenty of usb3 Sir you've kind of got like a bios flashback feature there beautiful Intel gigabit Ethernet land all that good stuff so happy to be be building with this as well thank you MSI for that got a let's do storage really quick just get storage out of the way CU storage is always boring I should have done this first first for worst WD Black 2 tbte it's a hard drive what do you want me to say and then of course we've got a a very popular Samsung 850 Evo this is a 250 gab this is where our boot Drive is going to this is where our OS is going to live on as a boot Drive pretty solid you can see I've used some of these parts Parts especially the non-sponsored hardware uh multiple times in the past because they don't have retail packaging although although hard drives really ever have retail packaging it's just like a cardboard box with some shitty shitty bubble wrap uh this is the fractal Integra m750 W power supply that we're going to be using to drive the whole PC it's 80 plus bronze certified it's partially modular in design and it's uh got a pretty pretty damn quiet fan from what from what I can see from what I'm reading here and what I've Been Told I've actually never built with one of these before I've built with plenty of other fractal design power supplies and they've all been pretty pretty good actually I still use a one of those 550 watt Newtons for a lot of my test builds so cool all that that's a power supply and what am I missing here o memory memory again another uh another kit that has been used in the past but is going to serve this build well I I would imagine this is G skills Trident Z Rams a the rams look at that 16 gigs so 2x8 each of these modules is 8 GB these are 3000p speed ddr4 some of the sexiest heat spreaders I think in in the game right now so I think it'll look really nice with our uh with our motherboard and just kind of with everything else um obviously this is a black and red theme system so I'm also going with uh some sleeved extensions here these are from a competitor to one of our sponsors today so I'm not going to say who they're from but these are just some uh some standard nice kind of nylon sleeved black and red cable extensions' got one for the ATX two of them for our uh our graphics card and one eight pin EPS for the CPU so am I missing anything I I don't think so change camera angle do it there we go look at look at how empty this sorry look at how empty this table is now now that I've cleared out all the hardware so nice all right time to time to mess it up again all right so I guess on that note guys um oh let me check the uh the donation here I've talk about this um this was just lying around I thought I would use it for the build illuminate things a bit this is an LED strip from cable mod good old cable mod uh this is a white one I decided to go with a white LED strip because I don't know White's been growing on me not that's not to be taken as a racist term but um I don't know white LED in particular just kind of uh illuminates everything evenly the way it's supposed to be seen I think in your chassis as opposed to if I were to use like a red LED for this case I probably just wash everything out probably wouldn't see it all them all you wouldn't actually see the red accents in the components themselves pop quite as much which is kind of kind of ironic but we're going to be installing this probably the last thing we'll we'll be putting in the case so that's all fun that's really fun super fun super duper fun okay let's let's just get started here let's let's bust out the motherboard I guess we'll do a top down view for y'all it's a little bit it's a little bit tiny you might have to go full screen or something if you want all the Deets if you want all them Deets put this down here it's also very cramped where I'm sitting and where I'm set up this this is a really really nice Airbnb it's it's not intended for PC builds by any stretch so I'm a little bit pressed for space here using their really nice dining table that I hope to God I don't scratch up I know I won't because I'm using the modmat that's why I brought it but this is the nicest Airbnb I've ever been in maybe I'll do like a quick little grand tour of the else can go wrong CPU coolers are usually the biggest Bratch when it comes to PC Building IMO there are some coolers out there like the fractal like the fractal Kelvin s20 for that are super simple to install it does make life a lot easier okay we wait we're not done installing we have to plug in this this fan this fan header here where's the fan where the CPU where the where the plug for the CPU here we go beautiful beautiful we're going to tuck it I'm going to tuck it just underneath here kind of partially underneath the block if I can it does have some Flex to it here at the end so I'm just going to tuck it away like that it's more or less discreet yeah yeah baby oh yeah oh yeah okay what's Chad saying my cooler is on backwards what do you mean it's on backwards oh crap is the memory going to fit what about the memory oh memory does not fit sweet Jesus thank you for telling me that oh God I I deserve another shot I mean I should just take another shot regardless cuz that was that was a big fail you know I'm not going to make excuses I'm just dumb so uh what someone pointed out in chat many of you guys pointed this out in chat apparently this is this what happens when you have hundreds hundreds of eyes on you uh is that uh the the two connectors here the two fittings on the cooler are blocking the ramp slots on the motherboard so unless I had some like super low profile dims there's no way that this configuration would work I'm going to have to rotate the cooler to give more clearance for for our memory boom boom boom all right do do you guys think that deserves a shot should that no I'm not going to give you guys a shot I'm not going to give you guys a shot unless you donate that you got to you got to earn it even though even though that was a big fail so I'm going to just reapply a little bit of just a teeny bit just a small Little Dot just to fill in any little air holes that might occur and I have done this before guys I have tested this taking off a CPU Cooler and just applying a little bit more thermal grease without wiping the whole thing down and cleaning it off and it's been perfectly fine multiple times I do this since I'm building constantly although you wouldn't guess it based on my recent mistake actually doesn't affect attempts as much as you might think if at all I mean margin of error I've never even seen a a difference in doing that there a lot of PC Building myths out there that I think people just take for truth because they read it in the forums countless countless times time and time again but unless you actually test it I don't know for sure people are just bullshitting the hell out of you okay I think this is GNA work let me just quickly check I want to make sure now I'm not done installing it but I want to make sure that this is able to fit in our node tool or no our node our Nano s over here a see this is why I read chat guys this is why I read chat sometimes look at that beautiful event cover it's so Sleek so sexy it's so sexy I want to feel it all right so here's just a quick little quick little test if we install the motherboard like get out of here get out of here like so all right like right don't apply too much pressure on anyone side at the risk of potentially hurting the CPU it's unlikely but it can happen it's been reported so better safe than sorry when you're dealing with the any motherboard and the chassis It's always important to have and it's EFI shielded I believe EFI taint is always good I'm going to just them in there yep yep yep yep took me like two years to figure out uninstall it reinstall a different one I don't know why it wasn't working it just stopped temp the the temps on the uh 6700k whoa that's a doozy woohoo uh we're like skyrocketing to like 100° C and then finally the the system just shut off thank God it did protect any further damage or any damage at all Chip's still fine but it was it was hot as balls so got that fixed so right before I was about to leave to come here too I had all the streaming stuff set up on that rig and I was like w why did it just crash and I rebooted I was like oh this it's kind of spicy this is no good boom boom boom wait oh screws still in here come on come on little guy I'm not going to hurt you ah get out of the way oh the fan is still is he's still hanging on for dear life he thinks he thinks he's going to be in this build well let me tell you son you are not chosen one your your brothers your brothers will be in this build but you you shall not you do not have the static pressure required for such a task I am sorry my friend you get the out ah okay um first fan so uh another cool thing about another nice touch with the Nano s is you do get a little cut out right here to pass your fan cables through which is always nice instead of having to run them across where your drive cages would would normally be it's also what I love about this this system is they put the drives in the back it's like yes no one wants to see drives especially hard drives maybe ssds if they're nice looking but for the most part just chip belongs in the back yo in the back seat all righty boom can move this over here a little bit so you can see it a little better all right where is the the oh because I threw the the Box away nope nope I got it we're good we're good yo oh righty all righty so let's go ahead and screw this sucker in oh what am I doing and I actually I realized now I made a mistake on my initial claim of this uh well I shouldn't say it's a mistake but I should have expanded that uh not only can you fit 240s in this system in terms of radiator support but it does support 280s as well which is super cool in a literal sense it's it's definitely cooler than a 240 mm radiator all right so that goes in like so the other nice thing is that the uh the mounting solution features mounting strips as opposed to mounting holes for your radiator so you can see here I can actually if I were to loosen this you can actually slide it up and down you know what I mean you know what I mean so uh that's that's really nice if you wanted some extra clearance for the bottom here because there is a pump mount uh for a custom water cooling pump at the bottom um Paul does a really great custom water cooled build his hot box 2.0 is in the Nano s and uh I'm sure he very much very much appreciated the mounting strips in this case also gives you more clearance on the top for a top radiator for instance if you were to try that out these fans and radiator are going in super easy happy about that it's the little things guys it's the little things get in there so again we are mounting this in a push configuration where both fans are mounted in the intake position going to be pushing air through the radiator and into the case oh yeah there's different schools of thought on this some people say well but then you're blowing hot air into the case because it's going through the radiator first and blahy blahy blah but I mean what are you going to do I mean if you if you reverse it then you're having hot air going through the radiator because you have all the hot air in the case that's being sucked in through the radiator so I me I don't know does anyone I'm sure people have tested this and found that there's probably maybe a degree maybe two of difference which could be margin of error so I mean I don't know guys I don't know also what are you going to do about dust well I guess if you set this to exhaust it's not a problem you have a dust filter either way I should say on cases that don't have awesome dust filters like the Nano s sometimes you're just forc to set it to intake otherwise you just got to clean out your system frequently that can be in pain I'm really bad I I'll be honest with you guys I'm going to come clean I don't clean my my system often like whoa what's up you scared the out of me God damn it cell okay what is it really not oh they're right my Ram thank to check your check your settings bro F5 that um all right so um for those of you just joining who have no idea what's going on on I guess I should probably do a proper introduction this is a fundamentally a build stream where I'm going to be putting together a system using all the hardware in front of me that you see here and uh the reason we're doing it or I'm doing it is to raise money for a charitable cause the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles needs your support because you know Children's Hospitals especially in like downtown LA and stuff don't really get all the support they need they're just kids guys they're just kids kids needs kids need to have fun too especially really sick ones so um we're going to be building in support of that cause I've set up an extra life donation page where you guys can donate there's a a panel a twitch panel just beneath this video player where you can uh donate it could be a dollar it could be 50 cents I really don't care um but every little bit helps uh however to spice things up as I'm building this system and putting it together for every $500 donated to the charity of course cumulatively it's not like one person has to donate 500 it's just cumulative in total uh for every $500 donated I will be forced to drink a shot of this heinous liquor uh this is Fireball uh it's been trending Lately from what I from what I've heard you can see I've already taken a small sample just to see what I'm up against tonight um but uh there you go I don't actually have any shot glasses many of you guys following me on Twitter probably saw that I was having trouble finding a shot glass in this area I went to a Target I I mapped out a Target turned out to be a Target Express I didn't even know Target expresses existed it's like all they sell is like socks and batteries so they didn't have any shot glasses there and then I went to a Walmart down the street and it was a Walmart neighborhood what the is a Walmart neighborhood sweet Jesus I I have no clue what's going on but I couldn't find a shot glass so I'll be drinking out of this this cup instead I'll be doing my best to eyeball 1 to 1.5 5 O for every shot um but uh forgive me if it's not completely exact I will do my best um you can also see in the bottom left corner of the stream there there's a a a little shot glass icon with a zero in it uh that's the shot counter so every time I take a shot that's that number is going to go up so people who are just joining uh or or if you just have a bad memory like me you can always know at any given point in the Stream how many shots I'm on AKA how plastered I am so uh the goal right now for the donation page I've set it to $3,000 I think that would be super awesome if we could hit that if we could exceed it that would be even better obviously uh but we're going for 3,000 so if if we do hit that goal I mean that's that's six shots for me and I'm I can I don't get hung over very easily but I am kind of a lightweight so I'd say by shot five four or five maybe um the the stream could take a turn for the worst but we'll see what happens we'll see what happens I do also want to give a shout out those who are who are not being dicks so um here's the first product that we got here I I'll actually give you a a full frontal nudity shot initially boom so this is the uh the frifle design Define nano s sure a lot of you guys are familiar with this case it's Mini ITX this is going to be a small form factor build let me just check chat really quick okay no one's no one's screaming about audio or video quality so I think I'm in the clear uh so this is a small form factor Mini ITX buildt um it is probably one of my favorite small form factor uh chassis at the moment just because it's uh it doesn't really feel like one when you're building building in it I think that's kind of the point here uh it does have the modu vent cover here so if you wanted to tailor the build for silence you could leave that on or you could remove it for ample air flow there's a bunch of ventilation right underneath it you could you can install a freaking 240 mm uh radiator at the front which we will be doing today in fact with another fractal product that I'll get around to very nice uh large side panel window as well tons of good air flow with the fractal fans uh you've also got really high quality dust filters for your power supply and at the front uh for your intake and stuff so that's really nice to see also the res wall makes its return from the Define s it's basically a mini defin s in case you haven't gotten the hint so there's the the res Reser wal I like to call it the reservo it's it's fun to say uh but you can mount a water cooling Reservoir there really really just great little case um and obviously coming from as as a defined s user myself as uh as that's what what hotline's built in um I I am a huge fan of this chassis so thank you again fractal for providing that I look forward to the building in it and next up we've got next up let's let's let's do the video card let's just do this all out of order so I'm going to go ahead and flip still finding my bearings here with the uh camera angles and stuff boom overhead shot there we go so this is the video card we're using yes this is what makes it highend more or less is the GTX 1080 that we're fitting in here the gaming X mind you from MSI beautiful beautiful graphics card I actually did a review on this not too long ago and my review was was good it was positive uh too long didn't read it it's it's a good card it actually has really decent cooling um it's just a freaking beast on the uh on the benchmarks and stuff look at all the look at all the fancy branding got a love got all love retail boxes for computer hardware especially video cards and motherboards it's just densely packed with um but uh another cool thing that that makes this card pretty sweet is uh I mean it's a GTX 1080 guys so I mean what else do you want 8 gigs of gddr5x freaking ridiculously fast um direct X12 ready of course and uh and yeah it's got two 8 Pin PCI connectors is it two8 pin or is it 1 eight pin and one 16 pin oh it's 1 eight and 16 that's right uh so yeah that's been beefed up from the founders edition of course to provide better stability when over blocking and uh you know just just more more power power is always good got to love power Twin frozer 6 cooler is makes its debut on this card as well uh it's got the zero RPM feature so the fans don't spin up unless the the GPU gets hotter than 60° cus which is really great for silence silent operation when you're just idling and stuff not even when you're idling but you know if you're doing like low intense applications is silent as Hil got the core i5 6600k sure I don't got to talk much about this especially since Intel's not one of the sponsors freaking Intel you should have you should have given this to me for free next time next time though uh so overclockable Chip of course if we're going with a high-end build with something like a GTX 1080 you're going to want something that's overclockable on the CPU end as well it only makes sense and to cool that down we've got I keep holding it upside down because I think I I planned this way better than I thought I did like the webcam is already facing the right way uh this is the Kelvin s24 again from fractal design pretty great little cooler I shouldn't say it's little it's a 240 mm radiator um it does have an it's an expandable Loop so you can actually it's got G and a/ qu inch fittings you can uh refill the loop you can expand it if you wanted to add more radiators uh with with from the Kelvin line for example it's um it's also got a really Sleek just blackon black aesthetic which looks good in pretty much any case you put it in and I really do like the white fans kind of tying in with fractal theme um especially with like their ch like the the Nano s uh is is also a black and white themed black and white themed Hardware so uh again we've got another MSI component here this is the z170i gaming Pro AC and uh I really do love this motherboard especially if you're cool with like black and red cuz that's like the only thing that I could see as a caveat is like if you're trying to go for a different color scheme or something um the black and red is I personally like how it looks I actually use this board in uh in the the PC that I'm streaming with right now fancy that the the no 202 the go anywhere do anything PC yep it's got one of these in it one of these bad boys so this thing's pretty awesome uh you can see it's kind of got a pretty beefy vrm heat sink actually uh considering the small form factor so it does handle some overclocks pretty pretty well uh my 6700 K that's in the the the Nano I'm sorry the note 202 right now is overclocked to 4.5 I believe uh look at this m two slot on the back it's always nice to see as well this is pcie nvme Gen 3x4 holy smokes uh and it's got Wi-Fi they don't they don't call it the the gaming Pro AC for nothing uh as far as the rear IO and stuff you've got plenty of usb3 Sir you've kind of got like a bios flashback feature there beautiful Intel gigabit Ethernet land all that good stuff so happy to be be building with this as well thank you MSI for that got a let's do storage really quick just get storage out of the way CU storage is always boring I should have done this first first for worst WD Black 2 tbte it's a hard drive what do you want me to say and then of course we've got a a very popular Samsung 850 Evo this is a 250 gab this is where our boot Drive is going to this is where our OS is going to live on as a boot Drive pretty solid you can see I've used some of these parts Parts especially the non-sponsored hardware uh multiple times in the past because they don't have retail packaging although although hard drives really ever have retail packaging it's just like a cardboard box with some shitty shitty bubble wrap uh this is the fractal Integra m750 W power supply that we're going to be using to drive the whole PC it's 80 plus bronze certified it's partially modular in design and it's uh got a pretty pretty damn quiet fan from what from what I can see from what I'm reading here and what I've Been Told I've actually never built with one of these before I've built with plenty of other fractal design power supplies and they've all been pretty pretty good actually I still use a one of those 550 watt Newtons for a lot of my test builds so cool all that that's a power supply and what am I missing here o memory memory again another uh another kit that has been used in the past but is going to serve this build well I I would imagine this is G skills Trident Z Rams a the rams look at that 16 gigs so 2x8 each of these modules is 8 GB these are 3000p speed ddr4 some of the sexiest heat spreaders I think in in the game right now so I think it'll look really nice with our uh with our motherboard and just kind of with everything else um obviously this is a black and red theme system so I'm also going with uh some sleeved extensions here these are from a competitor to one of our sponsors today so I'm not going to say who they're from but these are just some uh some standard nice kind of nylon sleeved black and red cable extensions' got one for the ATX two of them for our uh our graphics card and one eight pin EPS for the CPU so am I missing anything I I don't think so change camera angle do it there we go look at look at how empty this sorry look at how empty this table is now now that I've cleared out all the hardware so nice all right time to time to mess it up again all right so I guess on that note guys um oh let me check the uh the guess I forgot to talk about this um this was just lying around I thought I would use it for the build illuminate things a bit this is an LED strip from cable mod good old cable mod uh this is a white one I decided to go with a white LED strip because I don't know White's been growing on me not that's not to be taken as a racist term but um I don't know white LED in particular just kind of uh illuminates everything evenly the way it's supposed to be seen I think in your chassis as opposed to if I were to use like a red LED for this case I probably just wash everything out probably wouldn't see it all them all you wouldn't actually see the red accents in the components themselves pop quite as much which is kind of kind of ironic but we're going to be installing this probably the last thing we'll we'll be putting in the case so that's all fun that's really fun super fun super duper fun okay let's let's just get started here let's let's bust out the motherboard I guess we'll do a top down view for y'all it's a little bit it's a little bit tiny you might have to go full screen or something if you want all the Deets if you want all them Deets put this down here it's also very cramped where I'm sitting and where I'm set up this this is a really really nice Airbnb it's it's not intended for PC builds by any stretch so I'm a little bit pressed for space here using their really nice dining table that I hope to God I don't scratch up I know I won't because I'm using the modmat that's why I brought it but this is the nicest Airbnb I've ever been in maybe I'll do like a quick little grand tour of the place after uh after I build this thing so you guys can see makes me nervous I don't like being in super nice places I always get nervous so we're going to pop this dude man if that went smoothly nothing else can go wrong CPU coolers are usually the biggest Bratch when it comes to PC Building IMO there are some coolers out there like the fractal like the fractal Kelvin s20 for that are super simple to install it does make life a lot easier okay we wait we're not done installing we have to plug in this this fan this fan header here where's the fan where the CPU where the where the plug for the CPU here we go beautiful beautiful we're going to tuck it I'm going to tuck it just underneath here kind of partially underneath the block if I can it does have some Flex to it here at the end so I'm just going to tuck it away like that it's more or less discreet yeah yeah baby oh yeah oh yeah okay what's Chad saying my cooler is on backwards what do you mean it's on backwards oh crap is the memory going to fit what about the memory oh memory does not fit sweet Jesus thank you for telling me that oh God I I deserve another shot I mean I should just take another shot regardless cuz that was that was a big fail you know I'm not going to make excuses I'm just dumb so uh what someone pointed out in chat many of you guys pointed this out in chat apparently this is this what happens when you have hundreds hundreds of eyes on you uh is that uh the the two connectors here the two fittings on the cooler are blocking the ramp slots on the motherboard so unless I had some like super low profile dims there's no way that this configuration would work I'm going to have to rotate the cooler to give more clearance for for our memory boom boom boom all right do do you guys think that deserves a shot should that no I'm not going to give you guys a shot I'm not going to give you guys a shot unless you donate that you got to you got to earn it even though even though that was a big fail so I'm going to just reapply a little bit of just a teeny bit just a small Little Dot just to fill in any little air holes that might occur and I have done this before guys I have tested this taking off a CPU Cooler and just applying a little bit more thermal grease without wiping the whole thing down and cleaning it off and it's been perfectly fine multiple times I do this since I'm building constantly although you wouldn't guess it based on my recent mistake actually doesn't affect attempts as much as you might think if at all I mean margin of error I've never even seen a a difference in doing that there a lot of PC Building myths out there that I think people just take for truth because they read it in the forums countless countless times time and time again but unless you actually test it I don't know for sure people are just bullshitting the hell out of you okay I think this is GNA work let me just quickly check I want to make sure now I'm not done installing it but I want to make sure that this is able to fit in our node tool or no our node our Nano s over here a see this is why I read chat guys this is why I read chat sometimes look at that beautiful event cover it's so Sleek so sexy it's so sexy I want to feel it all right so here's just a quick little quick little test if we install the motherboard like get out of here get out of here like so all right like right like right there will this fit yeah you know what I think it's going to fit I think it's going to be fine especially if we put the fans first I say fans first yo I say we push the air through this sucker into the case instead of pull y'all with me all right let's do it let's do it all right so I'm going to put the case as that making orientation with screwing in the screws uh it's just that I don't apply too much pressure on anyone side at the risk of potentially hurting the CPU it's unlikely but it can happen it's been reported so better safe than sorry when you're dealing with the any processor should be treated handled with care handled with care we are almost there these are some really long threads yo sweet threads bro let's bring them over here okay all right I can also give you guys a play-by-play on what I like about this case as I building it might be kind of fun um so first off I will say I do like how there's pre-installed standoffs yo that is that's huge for me it just it's not difficult to install your own standoffs but it takes a ton of time it's just annoying as so I always do appreciate it when uh case venders do it for you like hey bro like I know you've got a long build ahead of you so let me just help you out all right yeah bro you got me you got my back you got my back got to install this little guy this is the io Shield it is the taint between the motherboard and the chassis It's always important to have and it's EFI shielded I believe EFI taint is always good I'm going to just them in there yep yep yep yep took me like two years to figure out how to properly install those cuz I always like would get it halfway in and be like oh it's totally in and it wasn't and then she'd be like no you didn't even put it in yet wait what am I talking about all right that looks pretty lined up to me so let us proceed yes doctor trying to center it for you guys for better visibility okay just stopped working yeah it was was quite of a quite a scare had to uninstall it reinstall a different one I don't know why it wasn't working it just stopped temp the the temps on the uh 6700k whoa that's a doozy woohoo uh we're like skyrocketing to like 100° C and then finally the the system just shut off thank God it did protect any further damage or any damage at all Chip's still fine but it was it was hot as balls so got that fixed so right before I was about to leave to come here too I had all the streaming stuff set up on that rig and I was like w why did it just crash and I rebooted I was like oh this it's kind of spicy this is no good boom boom boom wait oh screws still in here come on come on little guy I'm not going to hurt you ah get out of the way oh the fan is still is he's still hanging on for dear life he thinks he thinks he's going to be in this build well let me tell you son you are not chosen one your your brothers your brothers will be in this build but you you shall not you do not have the static pressure required for such a task I am sorry my friend you get the out ah okay um first fan so uh another cool thing about another nice touch with the Nano s is you do get a little cut out right here to pass your fan cables through which is always nice instead of having to run them across where your drive cages would would normally be it's also what I love about this this system is they put the drives in the back it's like yes no one wants to see drives especially hard drives maybe ssds if they're nice looking but for the most part just chip belongs in the back yo in the back seat all righty boom can move this over here a little bit so you can see it a little better all right where is the the oh because I threw the the Box away nope nope I got it we're good we're good yo oh righty all righty so let's go ahead and screw this sucker in oh what am I doing and I actually I realized now I made a mistake on my initial claim of this uh well I shouldn't say it's a mistake but I should have expanded that uh not only can you fit 240s in this system in terms of radiator support but it does support 280s as well which is super cool in a literal sense it's it's definitely cooler than a 240 mm radiator all right so that goes in like so the other nice thing is that the uh the mounting solution features mounting strips as opposed to mounting holes for your radiator so you can see here I can actually if I were to loosen this you can actually slide it up and down you know what I mean you know what I mean so uh that's that's really nice if you wanted some extra clearance for the bottom here because there is a pump mount uh for a custom water cooling pump at the bottom um Paul does a really great custom water cooled build his hot box 2.0 is in the Nano s and uh I'm sure he very much very much appreciated the mounting strips in this case also gives you more clearance on the top for a top radiator for instance if you were to try that out these fans and radiator are going in super easy happy about that it's the little things guys it's the little things get in there so again we are mounting this in a push configuration where both fans are mounted in the intake position going to be pushing air through the radiator and into the case oh yeah there's different schools of thought on this some people say well but then you're blowing hot air into the case because it's going through the radiator first and blahy blahy blah but I mean what are you going to do I mean if you if you reverse it then you're having hot air going through the radiator because you have all the hot air in the case that's being sucked in through the radiator so I me I don't know does anyone I'm sure people have tested this and found that there's probably maybe a degree maybe two of difference which could be margin of error so I mean I don't know guys I don't know also what are you going to do about dust well I guess if you set this to exhaust it's not a problem you have a dust filter either way I should say on cases that don't have awesome dust filters like the Nano s sometimes you're just forc to set it to intake otherwise you just got to clean out your system frequently that can be in pain I'm really bad I I'll be honest with you guys I'm going to come clean I don't clean my my system often like whoa what's up you scared the out of me God
