Weaponized Drones, McWhopper and mroe on Snapchat Stories with Jacques Slade

Top Web Stories of August 26, 2015

It's Wednesday, August 26, 2015, and I'm Jacqu Slade here with your top web stories of the day. Burger King's attempt to end the "Burger Wars" with McDonald's by sending a proposal for a day of peace has backfired in their face. Instead of being met with enthusiasm, they received a response that basically shut down their plan immediately.

The response came from Mickey D's (Mickey de) and Ronald McDonald, essentially saying that there was no war between the two fast-food giants and that Burger King should do something more meaningful for peace than a publicity stunt. It seems like Burger King's efforts to promote harmony were met with skepticism, and their plan fell flat.

In other news, a bill passed in North Dakota has allowed police to use non-lethal weapons such as rubber bullets, tasers, gas, and even drone technology. The bill, number 1328, was originally intended to ban all weapons, but a police lobby group amended it to include the use of weaponized drones. This means that if you're planning on getting arrested in North Dakota, it's best to avoid it.

On the fashion front, news emerged today of Chris Brown creating a red pair of Yeezy Boosts, which looked pretty stylish according to Aife. The shoes are being given away on Instagram, and Kanye West was spotted rocking a white pair that has never been seen before. However, there's no release date for the white pair, and it's unclear if they'll ever be released.

The world championships in Beijing were also making headlines today, as American runner Molly Huddle slowed down and started to celebrate for the last bit of her race. Unfortunately, her teammate took advantage of the situation and slid into third place, earning a bronze medal instead. The heartbreak on Huddle's face was palpable, serving as a reminder that you can't afford to get too comfortable, even in victory.

Tragedy struck in Virginia today when reporter Allison Parker and her cameraman Adam W were shot and killed while on air. It appears that the shooter took issue with his previous employer, the TV station, and an alleged racial comment from Allison. The motive behind the shooting is still unclear, but it's clear that the loss of these two talented individuals will be felt deeply.

Finally, I want to express my personal thoughts on this tragic event. I'll be praying for all the families involved, including the Parker family. It's a reminder that we never know when tragedy can strike, and we should always cherish the time we have with our loved ones. With that, it's been a long day of top web stories, and I want to thank you guys for watching. Go tell someone you love them, and I'll see you guys tomorrow. Peace out!
