iPad Enthusiast's Unboxing & Preliminary Impressions _ M4 iPad Pro & M2 iPad Air

**Apple's Latest iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard: First Impressions**

As I unwrapped the latest iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and familiarity. The new design, while largely unchanged from previous models, promises to bring a more laptop-like experience to the tablet market. With the new Magic Keyboard, Apple has managed to slim down the overall package, making it feel more like a laptop in your hands.

One of the most noticeable changes is the hinge itself, which has been redesigned to be oval-shaped, rather than the traditional hinge we've seen before. This not only makes the device slightly smaller but also allows for a more compact design that's sure to please fans of Apple's devices. The new Magic Keyboard features improved keys, with the space bar working seamlessly and the trackpad being significantly larger in terms of surface area. The function row has been tightened up, giving it a more cohesive feel.

The camera bump on the new iPad Pro is also worth noting, featuring only one camera sensor, along with the laser scanner, two-tone flash, and multiple microphones. While this may not be as impressive as some of Apple's other devices, it's clear that the company has prioritized design and form factor in creating a more laptop-like experience.

As I began to explore the device further, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the old Magic Keyboard. The new version is designed to work seamlessly with the iPad Pro, making it easy to transition between use cases. Apple's commitment to merging both iOS and iPadOS into a single operating system has been clear in this design, and I'm excited to see how this will play out in the future.

Finally, I had the opportunity to unbox the new Pencil Pro, which promises to build upon the features of its predecessor. The design is largely unchanged, with the only notable difference being the addition of "Pro" to the name. The Pencil Pro still features the same divot as before and can be easily unscrewed for charging and use.

As I began to test out the new Pencil Pro, I was excited to see how it would perform in different scenarios. One feature that caught my eye was the ability to squeeze functionality, which is still available despite the introduction of the Pencil Pro. This is a testament to Apple's commitment to compatibility and user experience.

**Conclusion**

Overall, I'm thrilled with the latest iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard design. While some may see this as a departure from traditional tablet designs, I believe it's clear that Apple has been listening to its users' feedback and creating a device that truly feels like a laptop. The new features, including the improved keyboard and Pencil Pro, only add to the overall experience.

For those considering an upgrade or purchasing their first iPad Pro, I would definitely recommend giving this one a look. However, it's essential to remember that this is not a replacement for a MacBook Pro in terms of price or performance. This device is designed for those who value portability and flexibility above all else.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell all right everyone let's get right into this video better late than never but I quickly wanted to unbox both the iPad Air as well as the new iPad Pro we have the M4 iPad Pro the 1 Tab model which does bring 16 gigs of RAM and then we do have a baseline M2 iPad Air which gives you 128 gigs of storage and I believe it starts at $800 we also do have the brand new M4 magic keyboard which right now only works with the new M4 iPad Pro and then we do have another apple pencil Pro right here which they gave me in this kind of blue colorway packaging because as you know Apple does have five different kind of packaging kind of schemes and themes for the pencil Pro which kind of makes it almost like a trading card game or anything like that so if you do want to collect them all you're going have to buy five different Apple pencils but the apple pencil Pro does work with both the iPad Pro as well as the iPad Air but it does not work with anything older right and I'm also going to have my M1 iPad Pro here for comparison sake as well as my magic keyboard for the Third in just to kind of see what they feel like how they weigh kind of compare the sizes and the thickness and again this is going to be a first impressions type video and by the looks of it the immediate first thing that you feel is just how lightweight this iPad Pro case is or like this box itself is so lightweight compared to even the magic keyboard box and then iPad airbox is actually even heavier than that so I will keep that in mind as I go through these unboxings but the first thing that I do want to unbox is actually the iPad Air because obviously the iPad Pro is going to get the most amount of headlines but I do believe that this 13in iPad Air that I have right here is going to be the biggest seller because for $800 and I believe if you go through the education store you can get $50 off especially here in the US so you can get a 13in brand new M2 iPad Air with 128 gigs of storage for $749 here in the US and it's going to give you pretty much everything that you can get out of the actual iPad Pro right it has hover support it works with the apple pencil Pro and then also the fact that Apple did remove that secondary camera from the iPad Pro without telling any Budd means that they both only have one camera sensor the only real big difference is going to be the quality of screen you're still dealing with the IPS display on here which is only 60 HZ but still plenty bright versus the 120hz new OLED display on the iPad Pro and of course the new form factor of the iPad Pro is not much thinner but again for most people that's not going to matter but let's quickly unbox this and see exactly what we got going on we did here is that Apple actually got rid of the Apple stickers but I did hear also that if you do want a pair of Apple stickers and you do buy an iPad Pro in store you can request them from an employee and they will give them to you now I have not been able to test that theory but maybe we'll go into the Apple Store one of these days and see if they do give us one of those but this is the actual blue color way which I'm going to open up in a second and in terms of packaging so yes you do get a 20 W brick USBC with a nice braided cable which is a nice little addition and then I did want to confirm that we don't get the stickers and no it just looks like we get a starter guide some paperwork and that's literally it so this is the packaging that you get for $800 let's see exactly what we got going on with this iPad air and this is like I said the blue color way so we open this up and okay this does look a little bit more blue than I expected I've been seeing some pictures online where the blue is actually not as blue but as you can see here it does look really it's a nice kind of like a subtle blue the Hues are nice again I'm in kind of cool lighting right now and it is night time so this is probably the best that it's going to look from a colorway perspective it does say iPad Air on the back with your pink connectors on the back and then of course you have the iPad and honestly it's feels like an iPad Pro right it has the same feel the same build the same chassis you do notice when it is dark that the camera is right here but another thing if you look very closely the camera is technically a little bit off to the left I don't know why Apple did that but it's going to bother me as I look more and more into it but you do have the camera now in the landscape orientation which is my favorite form and then of course you do have the touch ID button right here so I just want to turn this on and as it turns on we might unbox some other things but as we turn this on I do want to actually compare it to the current iPad Pro that I have so I said I have an M1 iPad Pro and here it is right here and in terms of weight they feel relatively the same maybe the iPad Pro is a tiny bit heavier but from a form factor size we are dealing with pretty much identical sizes right same footprint same chassis the volume Rockers are on the same exact side the volume loers are on the same exact spot you also have the actual magnetic latch to be able to charge your apple pencil the only difference really form wise aside from the color is that you had the touch ID lock button versus the regular lock button we saw the pink connectors you have the four speaker speaker grills you know like I said the volume rocker and overall it is pretty much identical in terms of the actual footprint of the iPad Air versus older iPad Pro you can see that we do have a nice dual camera on the M1 iPad Pro versus a single camera but again most people are using these iPads just to kind of scan documents I don't see too many people using iPad Pros to go out and film movies you know again to each their own and another thing that I did want to quickly test is how it works with the regular magic keyboard so this is the magic keyboard from the you know the older model so works with the 2018 iPad Pro all the way to the M2 iPad Pro and it does also work with the iPad Air so if I slap this iPad Air on here it does perfectly magnetically attach so as you can see the mouse does work I can press on English to set this thing up which we'll do a whole setup video later on but I did want to just make sure that it does work the only thing that you're going to notice is that when you do close it you do only have the single camera bump even though you have a cutout for the entire camera sensor on the iPad Pro itself from the M1 and the M2 version so here if this is a site for solarize then unfortunately that's what we're going to deal with but I will also check check in maybe a future video If it also works with the slim Folio keyboard which I believe we do have somewhere in the studio but that is the iPad Air it's basically just a repackaged iPad Pro which is not a bad thing at all right that's why I think this larger 13-in iPad Air is going to be the best seller because it's going to be the king of battery life since it doesn't have a 120 HZ Pro motion because it has the same battery size as the older iPad Pros are very similar sizes but it doesn't need to push as much power but it's still powerful enough because it does have the M2 Chip you get stage manager extended monitor support and everything in between so you're not really missing out on much in terms of the iPad full experience when you go with this $800 or $750 iPad Air and if you want to go even cheaper you can obviously get the 11in iPad Air at $600 which is in my opinion an absolute bargain depending on how you're going to be using that iPad air but now let's move on to the iPad Pro which is exactly what I really want to get into this is the first time that I've gone on a non-baseline version so I did go like I mentioned earlier with the one tbte has 16 gigs of RAM I did not get that nanotexture display because I don't really want it and I'd rather kind of have the option to take it off on with like a paper like screen protector but like I first mentioned this packaging itself is so light I mean if I just grab my old iPad Pro over here the iPad Pro itself probably weighs more than the whole packaging which is crazy to think about so this is my first impressions I want to see exactly what this looks like I haven't seen this in stores I've tried to avoid any videos online to see what this is like because you know I just kind of want to be surprised but if we open this up move this off to the side let's grab this iPad and that is crazy but let's see what else is in the Box real quick open this up you still get your 20 wat brick I believe you know maybe they throw in a 30 watt brick for the extra $500 I have to spend for this thing in terms of the Baseline model because if you compare the M4 iPad Pro and the 13in size to the M2 iPad Air and the 13in size it's about a $500 Baseline difference but then you do get this nice black braided cable which is unique to only this one so if you have the silver one you get a regular white cable and you do get a black braided cable with the space black iPad Pro which we're going to leave in there for now and now let's grab this thing open it up jeez absolutely unreal ladies and gentlemen so I'm going to turn this on so we can kind of get through the setup process because as you may or may not know this is going to be my main iPad this is going to be my main computer moving forward otherwise I would not have gone a 1 TB version I wanted a 16 gigs of RAM I've been using my M1 iPad Pro since the day released as my main editing machine as my thumbnail creation machine as my main personal kind of Finance machine as my day-to-day machine and I absolutely love the iPad Pro experience you can say what you want about iPad OS being limited and things like that and sure when you compare it to something like Mac OS or even windows it's going to be very different to that experience but you can still definitely get pretty much I would say 99% of your work done depending on how intense you are with different applications on the iPad Pro and on iPad OS but I did want to quickly grab my older iPad Pro the M1 iPad Pro like I keep mentioning and just take a quick look at what the size differences are so footprint wise it seems relatively the same you have a couple more speaker grills on the newer M4 iPad Pro you do see the thinness it is a decent amount thinner but overall you just see that it is honestly the footprint and the form factor is going to be very familiar right it's going to be an iPad at the end of the day it's just a matter of what you get internally and somebody made a great argument on Twitter the other day when it comes to people saying like oh yeah like once you get the new iPad and you kind of get used to the a factor of how nice it looks and how thin it is and how portable it is that at the end of the day it's going to be an iPad but somebody on Twitter said that you can make the same exact argument for pretty much any laptop or any MacBook or anything like that because yes once you get the new form factor you get you know use to all the nice aesthetic things at the end of the day it's going to be Mac OS depending on no matter what machine you're using whether it is a MacBook Air from 2020 or a fully loaded MacBook Pro with an M3 Max and things like that at the end of the day it's still Mac OS so the same argument can be made for these iPad pros and iPad OS it's just a matter of will you be using the extra power moving forward on the newer iPad Pro and again I'm three years removed from a brand new iPad Pro so I should be seeing some performance and efficiency gains from this new M4 iPad Pro it even feels weird to say M4 but I'm going to start to slowly set this up because I want to edit this video on the new iPad Pro so as the new M4 iPad Pro is doing its thing getting set up and again definitely get subscribed if you aren't or stay subscribed or leave some comments down below because we have a ton of content from accessories to use cases to how to set it up the top 10 features I'm very excited for all the content coming out with this new iPad Pro because I've been waiting for at least a some sort of redesign and some sort of real efficiency gains for a long time with iPad Pro but now what I want to open up is a magic keyboard and again we're going to make a video comparing this magic keyboard to the old one to the slim folio case to maybe even the Logitech combo touch because there's so many different ones at different price points but then also it gets a little confusing with Apple's lineup because this is the same price as the old one but it doesn't work with the older iPads even though is the same price and it's just kind of a weird and wonky situation but I'm also happy that they did redesign this and gives us a little bit more of a Macbook feel with that little kind of aluminum that we've been seeing online so again this is going to be my first foray into it to see exactly what it's like and it is supposed to be lighter than the other one because when you did put the M2 or M1 iPad Pro with the magic keyboard and the apple pencil it was a relatively Hefty package especially at that 12.9 in form factor and it got it was heavier than MacBook Air it was definitely heavier it might have even been heavier than the 15-in MacBook Air so I quickly wanted to bring out the other magic keyboard because I've been using this one since it came out so again this magic keyboard is also 3 years old and it's been amazing tried and true literally zero issues with it I know some people have had issues with connectivity every now and then but from a sturdiness and reliability and availability form factor and all that good stuff it's been awesome I have no real complaints and I got used to the small trackpad and things like that but now if I open up the new one you can see that the back of it does look pretty much the same the big difference that you see from this side is that a it is a little bit thinner this one does come off the ground a little bit more but then the back it is a different kind of aluminum Style versus that kind of rubbery material on the back you open this up and then you do see that there is a big difference this gives me big time Bridge keyboard Vibes if you guys have ever kind of used those before it feels cool to the touch it is made out of full aluminum but the rest of it is going to be very familiar so just the actual front of it is made out of aluminum you have your chicklet style Keys obviously you do get the new function row keys in terms of viewing angles and visibility it looks like the new one actually goes a little bit farther back back compared to the old one I'm pushing it back but you might be getting this one a little bit closer and we're going to play with all that as time goes on cuz it does give you more of a laptop feel so with the new one the iPad will be sit kind of a little bit farther away but you can get a better viewing angle and it might be even a little bit more lavable which is going to be awesome to see and then also the hinge itself instead of being around hinge it's more of an oval hinge which makes it a little bit smaller but this is a new magic keyboard and honestly I'm stoked for it right the keys are awesome space bar works the trackpad is I want to say two third the size bigger maybe even twice as big in terms of surface area the function row Keys it's just a a tighter design it feels like apple knows what they're doing with the iPad Pro and the magic keyboard now versus before they were creating something brand new that had never been created before at least in terms of design and form factor so I am slapping this on here because I do want to see what this package looks like and yes it's going to be extremely familiar to what we've had before as you can see here we do have the new camera bump with only one camera sensor the lar scanner the two-tone Flash and some microphones but overall it's a much much Slimmer package which is what we wanted because as I mentioned before the old magic keyboard combined with the iPad Pro was a very Hefty package and this this feels like a laptop everybody this this is what a laptop feels like and this is what it's going to feel like moving forward and I think Apple I don't know what their ultimate plan is with iPad OS and the iPad and all that good stuff but I do think Apple's going to slowly merge both os's at some point and the last thing I want to unbox is obviously the new pencil Pro so we open this thing up and this form fact factor is supposed to be identical to the old apple pencil so I'm going to close this as it updates so it stays out of the way but this is the new pencil Pro so I'm going to open this up it still has that same divot the only difference is that it does say pencil Pro and then in terms of the actual length and size they are the same exact length they're relatively the same color the font is a little bit more gray and a little smaller on the new one versus the other one's a little bit more of a darker gray the tip does pull off this tip also unscrews off and I'm just excited to see the new gestures the new shortcuts and I'm going to also around with some accessories to see if you can still use a squeeze gesture when you have maybe like a paperlike pencil grip which I've been using for years and years now since they've released so I'm going to throw this on and see exactly what it ends up looking like when I do end up trying to charge it and being able to use a squeeze functionality but that will just about do for this video everybody thank you for bearing with me I didn't get this until later in the evening and I wanted to give you guys my first impressions overall it's just a much tighter package like I mentioned earlier they were find the overall design of both the iPad Pro the magic keyboard they kept the apple pencil the same because there isn't much that you can do to change it it just added more functionality so definitely leave some questions down below and maybe it'll spark some new ideas or some new use cases for this iPad Pro because we're going to be comparing it seeing what it looks like how it works in the wild testing out that OLED display compared to the other mini LED display and things like that and see if it's worth the upgrade because at the end of the day I spent almost $2,000 after you include tax and things like that on this iPad for $2,000 you can get a lot of MacBook Pro Power if you want to go with that form factor so this is for a certain type of person and you know who you are if you are that person to use this thing and fully maximize it it just depends if you're willing to deal with the learning curve of using iPad OS versus Mac OS but like I said that's going to do it for this video if you guys do want to support the channel definitely check out our Channel memberships down below I'll leave that link down below we are giving away wallpapers and doing community posts and doing live streams with you guys and that's been awesome so definitely check it out down below and if you guys want to watch more videos like this one or some more iPad Pro videos click on one of these right here and until next time I'm Fernando and I'm out of you everybody peace I'm excited for this one\n"
