**Moto E Review: Unpacking its Features and Performance**
The Moto E is a budget-oriented smartphone that has been gaining attention in recent times, particularly in India where it's exclusively sold via Flipkart. As I got queries from viewers about this phone, I decided to dive into its features and performance.
**3G Support and Call Quality**
One of the first questions I received was whether the Moto E supports 3G. Yes, it does! In fact, there's a toggle in settings where you can switch between 2G and 3G modes. The 3G works perfectly fine on this phone, and I'd say its call quality is very good. In my limited experience with making calls on the Moto E, I found the call quality to be much better than on the Moto G. This is a welcome surprise, given that the Moto G has been criticized for its poor call quality.
**USB OTG Support**
Another question I received was about USB OTG support on the Moto E. Unfortunately, this phone does not have USB OTG support, even with third-party software attempts to bypass it. However, when considering the price point of around 7,000 rupees, it's essential to remember that many Android phones in the same price bracket don't offer this feature either.
**WiFi Hotspot and Other Features**
The Moto E does have WiFi hotspot functionality, as well as Wi-Fi Direct, which is a nice surprise. It also features screencast options, although I didn't test these out myself. The phone's screen quality is decent but not exceptional, with some viewers asking for comparisons to the Moto G. While the Moto G has a slightly better screen, the Moto E still delivers satisfactory performance.
**Battery Life and SD Card Support**
As the battery life assessment is still early on, I'll provide an initial impression: it feels like the battery life on this phone will be excellent. So far, so good!
The Moto E supports a microSD card up to 32GB in size. The functionality of moving apps to the SD card is somewhat hit-or-miss, with some apps (like Subway Surfer and Temple Run) able to be moved but others (such as Dead Trigger) unable to be transferred.
**Camera Performance**
The Moto E features a 5MP camera with fixed focus capabilities. While this isn't exceptional for outdoor shots, it's sufficient for everyday use. However, if camera quality is a priority, there are better options available.
**General Performance and Conclusion**
In terms of performance, the Moto E is very snappy, thanks to its 1GB of RAM. I didn't notice any lag or issues during my usage so far. The phone's price point makes it an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly Android experience.
As I wrap up this review, I'll note that there are some limitations to the Moto E, particularly when it comes to camera performance and USB OTG support. However, considering its price point and overall value proposition, the Moto E is definitely worth considering for those in the market for a budget Android smartphone.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and I have this uh Moto E with me and uh I've been using this phone just for around 24 hours and I have been getting a lot of questions via Twitter and also via YouTube comments and some direct emails regarding the some of the questions that you guys might have uh regarding this Moto E and I'm going to talk about some of the uh questions right now and I'm hoping that will be helpful for everyone and the first question that I'm getting a lot is uh does this Moto E support 3G yes this Moto G does support 3G uh and there is actually a toggle in settings where you can switch between the 2G and the 3G uh so the 3G works perfectly fine and second question that I'm getting a lot is regarding the call Quality on this Moto E uh I have not made a lot of tons and tons of calls on this motoe uh but I made about 5 to six cellular calls and I would say uh in those 5 to six cellular calls uh the call Quality was very good actually it's much better than the Moto G so in terms of call Quality I would say uh this Moto E uh is pretty decent uh next question I'm getting a lot is the about the usb OTG support on this Moto E uh sadly usb OTG support is simply not there on this Moto E and even I tried some third party software it simply does not work but again this Moto is a budget oriented phone it's sold in India by flip cart and it's just sold for about 7,000 rupees and if you take into account many of the other Android phones uh in the price bracket around this and even around 10,000 or so they do not have this usb OTG support so yes usb OTG support is not there uh next question that I'm getting a lot is about uh WiFi hotspot on this yes this phone has the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality and in fact it also has Wi-Fi Direct which was kind of surprising for me uh it also has the screencast option I didn't try that I'll give that also a try so it's interesting to see that we have options like Wi-Fi direct and even uh screencasting options uh now coming to the battery life again it's too early to comment about the battery life because it's just been 24 hours but I'll just give you an idea about my initial impr um as per the uh past 24 hours it I it feels like the battery life on this Moto E is going to be excellent uh so I'm pretty satisfied as of now uh regarding the battery life uh next thing is uh this Moto E uh does support a SD card up to 32 gigs of SD card can be used on this one uh and some of you have asked about moving the apps to the SD card and I would say the functionality is 50/50 uh like many other Android phones with KitKat not all of the apps can be moved to the SD card but some of the apps could be moved for example let me give you an idea I uh was able to move some games for example like Subway Surfer and temp temple and part of the games to the SD card but with some other apps uh for example Dead Trigger Etc I was not able to move it so apps can be moved but again it's a 50/50 solution not a perfect solution uh next now coming to the camera on this uh Moto E It Sports of 5 megapix camera which can record video up to 480p uh but the camera on this mot is is not that great though it's a 5 megapix shooter it's just a fixed focus camera and uh the pictures that uh I have taken with this Moto E are not that great outdoors yes uh when there's a lot of light the pictures are okayish but camera is nothing great to talk about it and Indo it's pretty weak so if camera is a priority I would suggest that look at some other devices uh regarding now the general performance of this Moto the performance is very Snappy it comes with 1 gig of RAM and in my past 24 or so I did not notice any uh uh lagginess or anything like the device it's pretty Snappy device for the price that you're paying and now last let's talk about the screen quality on this uh uh Moto E uh the screen quality is actually pretty decent but some of you as have asked me to compare it with Moto G definitely the Moto G screen quality is better on this but by no means uh the screen quality on this uh Moto is bad it's pretty good actually so these are some of the fa uh questions that I was getting a lot and I hope that uh it is is helpful I'll also be doing a full in-depth review of this Moto E very soon so if you have any particular questions do post them in the YouTube comments
